Apparently they did something to anger the music PTB, and so Walk On got shunned. Fits. Local classic rock station plays just ONE Boston song -- More Than A Feeling. I'm ashamed of the rock music industry for what they did to Boston.
One of the most underrated albums of all-time. Deserves way more credit than it got. Absolutely amazing stuff on this album, even by Boston standards. Fran Cosmo did a kick @ss job filling in for Brad on this album.
An amazing track from an amazing band. The keyboards are intense. Tom Scholz and comoany are true artists...analog style all the way. We also lost a great keyboardist in Keith Emerson. R.I.P. Keith.
I love this album more and more as time goes by. I had a hard time getting over the fact Brad Delp wasn't on this album, but once I got over myself I realized how good this album really is... Just saw Boston 8-1-15 in Phoenix, this was my favorite part of the concert. Walk On Boston fans!!!!!
+Nevin Thomas Great album. Too bad Brad chose not to do it. Too bad Tom chose to use crappy drum triggers... Maybe someday after Tom is gone someone will re-mix this album with DeCarlo on vocals and a real drum kit.
This along with many Boston songs are like a giant bear hug! Their music wraps you up and won't let go! In spite of all their issues the band with Tom, Brad, and Goudreau make a chemistry unlike any other. The reality is without the issues this band could have made even greater music.
Like a double-edged sword. He was a perfectionist, which lent itself to great music. At the same time, it tore them apart with infighting and album delays that really pissed off the label. I think they actually got sued due to how long it took them to put out Third Stage. Still, "We're Ready" almost makes the wait completely worth it. Great tune. It should have opened the album, not "Amanda".
This one medley should be used as a CLINIC on sound, composition, content, and how a TRUE CLASS ACT puts music together to convey a mental image. The medley, as a whole, is my favorite Boston piece. It only get's better with quality headphones and lights out...
7:42 to the crescendo at 9:29 (and a little bit after) still gives me chills. One of the most underrated Scholz guitar compositions when you play all four songs together like they are presented here. I won't listen to Walk On without Walking At Midnight, in front of it, Get Organized and Walk On (some more) after it.
Wife and I took our two sons to their concert in Birmingham Al, at the Civic Center, for their birthdays. We were all hoarse when we left! Fantastic concert!
Saw them with .38 Special in Alpharetta, Georgia a couple weeks back. They just continue the good work with a wonderful show. Fan since 1976 and proud of it.
No other band has ever been able to raise goosebumps like Boston, especially their last album, and MCA can kiss my ass. Their concert in 1977 from their "Don't Look Back tour changed the way I looked at music. Tom Scholz is an absolute genius. Google "the power soak" He's the one who literally engineered the sound of Boston. No band even today can hold a candle to his contribution to music. Long live Tom.
I dig their latest album, but the drum machine really hurts it. Live drums would've elevated some of those songs to near classic status. I believe Walk On also used a drum machine, but the drum sound hits so much harder on that album for some reason.
@@SilasHemmingway No, it's not a drum machine. In the liner notes for the Walk On Album, Tom Scholz explain that all instrument are real instruments, including the Wind in the trees and the hand clapping 🙂 ... Only the clavinet is not real. Anyway, i hate too that the drums in the last album it's not real 😕
9 people dislike, due to their love of trying to rock to Lady Gaga and Rosie O'Donnell's greatest hits. This is pure AOR. This is music with headphones personified. Being 50+, no one knows this genre anymore.
Best enjoyed at maximum volume. Never gave this album a real listen back in the 90s. For whatever reason, though, the whole medley has managed to draw me in. Thanks for sharing this.
Yes!!!!! The 7:41 mark of this song should just be in a loop for anyone who can not get motivated. What an inspirational and heaven sent piece of music.
Living 1994 over whenever this is played. The Houston Rockets winning their first Championship. H.S. graduation and life was so great at that time. Thanks for posting this!
This medley is great. Loud! I saw them play this live, it was great. My first concert was Boston at the Chicago Stadium in 76. Wally could not make it cause the tickets were expensive for him, $8. M80s blowing off in the stadium.
This is the type of song where you lock up the house, grab your favorite beverage, pull your recliner right in front of your big ass stereo system, turn it up to max and sit back and enjoy. Best stress reliever I think haha
This masterpiece is so so so damn epic I feel like I don't deserve to listen to it. That's why I listen to it once half a year so that it is like a huge dessert / reward.. and now it's THAT time of the year again. :)
This was my intro music (from 7:41) when I was worked by a local radio station in '97. The my show's title was "Rock on the Corner" as the studio was built in the corner show-window a supermarket. it was visible from the street.
Dude thank you so much for up loading this on here. It is one of my favorites by Boston. Thought I would not find it here. To me it was a lost treasure. THANKS MUCH. aroutlaw.
tom scholtz a musical genius. long live rock and roll. not many bands sound the same on cd but my god Boston did when i saw them at the CITY HALL IN NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE 1977
I said the exact same thing in 1994. I was in Barstow,ca. Listening to the "burner". This 'track' came on. I recognized the 'sound' immediately and knew it was "Boston".
I have never heard Walk On ever, on my local AOR station. Just More than a Feeling and Long Time/Foreplay, pissed me off considering they have lots more material. Same with Rush, only hear about 4 songs from them, yet they made 19 albums. The radio industry needs a kick in the ass!!!
Boston comes to the Detroit area on June24, 2014 with Cheap Trick at DTE Energy Music Theater a.k.a Pine Knob. Saw the Third Stage tour at Joe Louis Arena; had to have been the best concert I have ever attended.
WWOw!! Where did this come from?!?! Amazing. Gave me the chills. Seriously. Decent!!. BOSTON are one of those bands 70sish whereby, you can listen and really get into the riffs, very Cool! Amazing. 'Dreamlike Fantastikal'! Next off. Flying Objects? ....Not far away... UFOs. All sounds Magnificent! Inspiration. 22.06.21.
IMO, this is Tom Sholz's "magnum opus." I freaking love this song! The only thing that would have made it better is if Brad would have gotten to sing on it.
I,m 70 years old, but this is amazing! Thanks Boston!,
If this song was made in the late '70s/early '80s and not 1994 when grunge was dominating, this would have been a far bigger hit.
Thankfully Boston's debut and sophomore effort both came out then.
I think he knows that
totally true
Apparently they did something to anger the music PTB, and so Walk On got shunned. Fits. Local classic rock station plays just ONE Boston song -- More Than A Feeling. I'm ashamed of the rock music industry for what they did to Boston.
Actually, "Walk On" lp came out around 1994.
12 minutes of the best rock every produced!!!
dahun2 hell yes
Absolutely right. I just heard the album. But Walk on Medley is unbeatable. Rock on!
Right On!
Hell yea dude
Damn straight!
7:41 - 9:10 Is the reason Boston is one of my favorite bands of all time. I still get chills from hearing this.
xLxExEx I do too! That's perfect arena rock right there!:)
xLxExEx Always reminded me of the movie Dune... pictured Paul Atredes riding a giant sand worm the whole time
I've been a huge Boston fan since the days when if you said you had the entire Boston collection it meant you had BOTH albums!!
Total agree man. You take that part of the song, and you have a two minute rock orgasm
every boston song has that "BOSTON" moment, i'm thinking can'tcha say you believe in me, after the quiet slow part where it builds to the unfolding,
One of the most underrated albums of all-time. Deserves way more credit than it got. Absolutely amazing stuff on this album, even by Boston standards. Fran Cosmo did a kick @ss job filling in for Brad on this album.

Why wasn't Delp on it?
This album grows on a person. The more you hear it, the more you like it.
@@TheUltimateMarioFan he's D E A D
Brad may have not sung on this album, BUT, he co-wrote the song Walk On with Sholz!👏😁
I'm from England would have loved to see em live. One of my favourite albums by them ,but every album a masterpiece
i saw them in 1997 promoting this album, they started this song and all of a sudden.... BOOM .. BRAD DELP appears!
@Jeff Mann you are so lucky! Another band I like is BTO. never took off over here but I loved em. !!
Never heard this b4. Awesome. Had a good time off corporate America jams also. 80s 4ever
This son is an absolute masterpiece.

Because this part REALLY sounds like Boston......
That guitar tone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So thick and punchy !!! Go Tom !!! :-) ♪♫
thank you Boston for the great Album love it
At the 8:00 mark these guys are just killing it, just some incredible guitar work
Bob Seger opened for Boston in 1977 in Detroit...my life changed that night!
i wish the "walk on" medley was released as one track on the album rather than seperate tracks.
I love this band. There is nothing more to say
What a great piece of music!:) This is a really good driving song, something you can listen to while you're in your car.
I can relate. Always love jamming to this on the turnpike.
#speeding ticket
Wife and I took our two sons to their concert in Birmingham Al, at the Civic Center, for their birthdays. We were all hoarse when we left! Fantastic concert!
Boston's guitar sound was FULL. It filled the room and your spaces. Thats what made it awesome.

these were the last of a dying breed of musicians. Amazing guitar, thumping bass, and phenomenal drums!!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
1995 at the old Orlando Arena! Grateful to have seen Brad singing. One of 3 best shows I’d ever seen.
THE UNDISPUTED KING OF GUITAR TONE IN ANOTHER SHINING EXAMPLE
This and Dimebag Darrell have got to be my two favorite guitar tones of all time. Chills...
WOW how did I ever miss this awesome Baddass Boston tune? LOVE it
It's lost in an album of mediocrity. I wish the rest of it rocked as hard as this tune does.
I saw them in 1989 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. The Third Stage tour. Loudest concert I've EVER been to. And the best sound.

Sad but true
Rosie O'Donnell? Hits? Plural?
0:53 - 1:40 just hearing tom jammin by himself with that God like tone is just bliss!

My uncle introduced me to this song, but I've known songs by Boston from years ago!
Started in the 70s and still creating masterpieces. We'll done Tom
Love this album

Very hard song to find for sure. It's my favorite Boston. I saw Boston Live in 1978. Thanks for sharing this !
One of the best of Boston's songs. Not their best album but it stands up well.
Living 1994 over whenever this is played. The Houston Rockets winning their first Championship.
H.S. graduation and life was so great at that time. Thanks for posting this!
I saw Boston in OKC, around early 81, 82, or maybe 83. They were amazing, still one of the best.
From 7:42 to 9:00 the guitar and organ are powerful and driving!!!
Listening in 2024 and still impressed
One of my favorites..the brilliant arrangements and classic Boston rock is outstanding
They need to come out with a new album and blow EVERYONE away!!!
boston are still a major force in todays rock scene lets hope for a new album.
Excellent rock instrumental...brings back memories
This medley is great. Loud! I saw them play this live, it was great. My first concert was Boston at the Chicago Stadium in 76. Wally could not make it cause the tickets were expensive for him, $8. M80s blowing off in the stadium.

Best album of the nighties.

7:41-09:03 is what I want the pilot to play over the speaker if the plane was about to crash
I do agree bro.....the crashing would feel alot easier.......and i mean it....rock on brother.
No hay duda de que esta canción rompe madres...
Toda una obra maestra de Boston.
Got the cd as soon as I could when it came out. Still have it, don't know how it still works I've played it so much.

"Everybody every day is trying to remind you, who's behind you" !!
Best rock and roll band ever rip Brad delp❤

I dig this album more than Third Stage, actually. I know it has an over-polished, stuck-in-the-'80s sound, but it rocks nonetheless.
