Sad we could only look forward as kids. Couldn't see how good we had it. I believe we had the greatest generation to grow up in. No internet and a lot less problems
FINALLY the third Boston album came out when I was in high school! We thought it was the keys to the kingdom back then! Still love it. Brad Delp was one of the greatest singers of all time. He is missed.
I just happened upon this song by chance. I was floored how I KNOW this song but haven't heard it since maybe the 80's! Brought me back totally to my high school years.
Every time some other group or artist such as Green Day, Peter Gabriel, Abba, or Carlie Simon gets inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame reminds me how incredibly insulting it is that this band and the greatest debut album of all time is not noticed by the R.R.H.F. !!! It’s bad enough that Rush had to wait 30 damn years to be inducted, and they have one of the largest fan base of any group out there today ! I thank God that the sound of Boston came to me at such a young age !
This was ONE DIME in the community jukebox...ice-skating parties, trying to shake the ol double runners...community center, campfires, and skating in the dark...all came together. Hands down....WhAT? YoU HavE AUTO REWIND???? BOOOOM
The first album was a masterpiece, same with the second album, then I remember waiting for a long time for this album and it was worth the wait ! Huge part of Rock Music history !!!!
I'm with you Brother! seems like america has to get involved in EVERY country's shit! I was in Korea, in the Army when Bostons first album came out and I still LOVE listening to that..
I was in High school when this came out. The 1st Album was like our "Rock Bible!" We ordered tickets when they announced "The Third Stage Tour" at The New Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Not only was it unbelievable BOSTON was coming out of retirement after SO long but it was the FIRST concert to be held at the newly built arena!!!! Damn man we were SO pumped up it was crazy. I still have my ticket stub... and I got a pic up front. 😛 Welp' at 60 years of age now I still remember that show and how great they were... SO bad ass it was to see Boston... Our Rock Gods! Happy I bumped into this this morning,. Damn man the memories of things so pure and simple back then,, yet so complicated as a young man! 🤪 Hearing this today in some strange way I feel a little younger. 😜 Thanks for the upload! BOSTON FOREVER ! 🤘
It's really too bad that kids these days that want to get into music don't sit down and really take the time to appreciate the sheer talent and beauty of the music Boston released.
I made sure my son (19 now) was exposed to great music, he took it from there and is now a HUGE fan of all these great bands we grew up with. Good music will always endure
Early in the game Boston fan. Definite new vibe and sound but true rock n roll. Tom and his mad scientist musical engineering genius and Brad’s pipes were the custom mix and blend that got my attention and 9 million other buyers off their first LP. Sold for life.
What a different world we were in back then, and 1,000 times better that the hell we are living in now, I thought mankind would advance and this music would help but guess I was wrong, dead wrong, maybe the young of today will wake up, although I doubt it.
I bought the first two albums back in the early 80s. Loved Boston then, and now! Sad that Brad Delp is no longer with us. He was a phenomenal Rock singer and a large contributor to the Boston sound, although Tom Schultz, a great guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and sound technician, and innovator, did not see it that way.
A lot of folks want to return to the 80s, I get it. Just want to say; I have few regrets and I payed a mighty price for the life I have now (not perfect). I'll stay here. Love to you all.
The 'Liner Notes' told a story of difficulty to get the sound Tom Scholz was looking for and the disruptions / failures for this total music package. Worth the WAIT. I first was able to get this listen in Colorado. Makes it dynamically worth it. Plus, my Construction Supervisor said he saw the 'Concert' associated to the Album at that time. In Music: "We lost the recipe." (Conversation with Woodstock Hippie named Martin- a great friend who sadly passed late February 2001) The music of Now? Doesn't rate. *BOSTON* Lives & Thrives. Glad to hear Great Memories. Born & raised in Tacoma. Was a good life back then. Somewhere since then this place has gotten lost and doesnt seem to even want to find itself again. Wish we could use the great memories to resurrect this place back to life. Newer aint always better.
This album came out when I was getting out of the Army. Driving home I remember playing this cassette over and over again. Crying alone in my car wondering where my life was headed. This album made me feel better EVERYTIME!
I saw two shows on this tour the same weekend. What a great Comeback. They put alot of effort on the sound, mastering and composing on this Album. Amazing.
You know a Band is Phenomenal when Their music transcends Time and space , and is still relevant in today’s world! Nothing like listening to to Boston and So Many Many other Rock Bands that shaped Music History . Gone to Soon and can Never be Replaced. RIP Brad Delp and all the others Before You 😞🙏💔💐
I play bass guitar and keys - including the pipe organ - and appreciate the homage to the King of Instruments on this record. The USA's best organ builders - E. & G. G. Hook in the 19th century and Aeolian-Skinner in the 20th, and, currently, Noack and C. B. Fisk - were/are based in the Boston area. 'The Launch' features an organ recorded through a Rockman
Hate is a verry strong word, 2023 is an awsome year, just think, we san go back in time and listen to all the 70s and 80s music we want... Food for thought, have a great day right now, right were you are. Peace.
According to Tom he used a Hammond M3 and a Conn Theater Organ for the Third Stage. Most people who try to get the organ sounds that Tom did on the first record try to do so with a Hammond B3 but the B3 does not have the option of adding the different order of harmonics that the M3 does.

Hall of Fame is BS. Fans rule!
Real fans know not holywood fascists
R&RHOF is really screwed up in their egos and they overlook some major forces.
That said, Love the sound of Vinyl!
Keep in mind that the R.R.H.F. is neither, unfortunately. I am OK with Peter Gabriel being in. Loved his videos back when MTV actually played videos.
