Hi! i just wanted to say again that you can do this technique with ANY ink you have. And with any inking tool! I just am sharing how easy these inks blend. But you can use what you have! :)
This video was the best explanation of these types of inks anywhere. I have been searching for answers about them since their release, but other than the description of "juicy" I have been stumped. I have a good selection of inks and limited space I needed to know more before I tried a few. Thanks for explaining properly. I will try a few in some ranges they seem different from what I have.
The cards are beautiful. I love the format of your videos. So much packed into a short space. Never any down time. Always tutorial. Great start to my day with coffee.
Your videos are always so creative, inspiring and of course, so fun to watch. I love how you explain how products work! That is so helpful! The SSS Pawsitivly Saturated Inks are AMAZING! I Love playing with them thanks to you! You always give us ( and encourage us) to use products we have and you even give us suggestions about other things we can use. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU! In my book YOU ARE THE VERY BEST in so many ways.
I love the butterflies. I never thought to go over with a white ink to make them stand out more. I love all the amazing techniques you show us all the time. The cards are beautiful and beat store bought a thousand times over. Thank you so much!
Wow!!! I’m impressed. I have about 30 embossing folders that just sit in a tray. Thanks for the inspiration, I’ll try your technique with the tools I have.
I must say, Simon's inks are very rich. You are right about how the blending looks effortless. Each card's composition and colors are gorgeous. Thanks for these great examples. I do like that someone thought of adding die cuts along with the embossing folder.🌷🌷
Fabulous video as always, Jennifer! I always learn something new. Just wanted to say that I found that longish green blending brush holder at 5 & Below, for, you guessed it, five bucks!
I absolutely love the embossing folders with matching dies. If only companies would come out with masculine images like a suit of armor or animals. Thank you for sharing these techniques with us. Your cards are always so pretty. Keep up the good work. No one does better videos.❤️❤️
those products do exist but not as much, as they dont sell as well :( but there are LOTS of animals! i just dont use them as much because i dont enjoy coloring :) www.simonsaysstamp.com/search?currency=USD&q=animals
There are a lot of plaid embossing folders that are excellent for masculine cards. geometric folders are also perfect for masculine cards and you can easily cut out sections of the design yourself to “highlight”. Even just cutting out a circle using a circle die and popping it up in the center would work well. Just a thought!
Another awesome video! I tried so hard to resist those Simon products but now I have to order them lol. I managed to find that same dimensional brush holder on Amazon (the teal one) for a much lower price. A very handy caddy. Love the lazy Susan idea! I have two shelf Susans on my desk and they are terrific! The butterfly cards are my fav!! TYFS ❤️🦋💜
Such beautiful cards! Whenever you show this technique of using white pigment ink to highlight, I immediately want to do so, but I seem to forget it. Tomorrow I will do this, cause... I just love it so much.
Beautiful cards. I’ve been using the white pigment ink ever since you showed it on a previous video, and I love it. Thanks again for another great video.
Such great idea! I love ink blending and will definitely give this a try. I especially like the effect of the white pigment ink on top. I think it would be fun to experiment with my chalk inks and see what effects I can get with different colour combinations. Great video,! Thank you!
Beautiful cards, Jennifer! I'm so pleased SSS now has the re-inkers for the Pawsitively Saturated Ink pads. NOW I'll buy more of them! Thanks for the links to the products - sure makes it easy to spend lots of money! LOL
I’ll have to check those snippets.. I find even after I remove the metal overhand, there’s still some remaining that I can feel..so I smooth out the edge with my Dremel. Thank you all you do to the world of card making
Ok that’s crazy as I was going to ask you about blending tools…which ones you preferred and that’s how you started this video:) I have been using that white ink because you showed it a while back and I love it:) these cards are so pretty but that blue paper/card is gorgeous!!! Thanks for another awesome video:) Stay safe and God Bless:)
Jennifer, as usual you are amazing! Your mind is so creative. I wish I had that gift but if you don't mind I have been looking at every embellishment out there trying to find the purple ones on the last card. Could you please let me know which brand they are as I am in love with them. Thank you.
Jennifer, this was an AWESOME video. I loved seeing all the techniques you showed and seemed simple but with an awesome pop of color and designs. I really want to try this. Thanks for sharing,
Hi, Jennifer. When you have the opportunity would you please show how the new Distress Ink color, Uncharted Mariner, fits into the full range of blue Distress inks? I know that's something you've done in the past and it's super helpful. Thank you!
Love these folder/die combos and your technique! I sure wish SSS would go back and make dies for all of their previous 3D folders that we could add-on.
Beautiful cards Jennifer. Can’t decide what my fave is. I think maybe the butterfly cards. Thanks for spending your time to share with us! Where did you get the pretty thing that you put on top of die cuts when they are drying?
I cut a piece of craft foam to fit a blending tool, & glued it to a felt piece, that’s used for alcohol inks. (The felt just let’s me attach it to the blending tool). Use the foam with the white ink, it spreads the ink nicely & stays firm so you don’t get ink in the crevices. And you can just wipe it off with a baby wipe when you’re done.
Hi I would like to know the name of the tool that you are using to put the gem’s on ? Just a note to let you know that I love your tips and your cards also
I can’t wait to “up my game” using your ideas. Thanks for always inspiring me! I also have a question regarding storage of my many embossing folders. I noticed that you label your folders. Do you also put them in clear pockets or can they be stored without that step?
The links of all of the products I used can be found at the bottom of this blog post: www.jennifermcguireink.com/2022/06/detail-blending-embossing-folder-tips-free-gift.html
I hear ya! With ink pads even if I get new colors I still find I go back to my good old favorites 90% of the time. 😀 That’s why I love embossing folders, low price but big impact!
I get it TOTALLY. But many crafters are looking for the *perfect* ink for them. So the most I show and teach about inks, the more helpful it is. HOWEVER as i said in the video, these cards can be done with ANY inks! :) that is why it is a great technique.
You can, you don’t even need to wash them. Just 4-5 good swipes across a paper towel gets off nearly all the ink. I do like having just a general set, 1 for each color of the rainbow just in case I forget to clean it off. But you’re right, it really isn’t a necessity. Although, I would definitely keep a special one just for white pigment ink and one for Versamark ink that I wouldn’t use on anything else so you don’t accidentally contaminate those ink pads.
I don’t use the same brushes with oxide ink & then dye ink. I don’t want to contaminate the ink pads. So after I use oxide inks I’ll wash my brushes before using them for another type of ink.

These are all beautiful. The rainbow butterfly is stunning. I think that's been my favorite card so far out of the hundreds I've seen in videos.
I really appreciate you pointing out one could use their favorite form for adding color to a project.
I love how companies are making more interesting embossing folders with matching dies and or stencils. The results are so much more personal.
These cards are elegant. You always teach us such wonderful things. Thank you.

So pretty - that “miss you” card is perfect. I love embossing folders, maximum impact for minimum price.
Great video Jennifer! So inspired by your talents!
Beautiful...I really love embossing folders. These are amazing!
Your 'eye ball' placing of butterflies is a lot better than my eye balls. lol Everything I do is crooked.
Embossing is such a great way to enhance the die cuts. Love these new products. And as always beautiful cards Jennifer.❤️
Wonderful as always. These embossing folders are terrific.
Great tips and ideas.
So neat, love them so much. Thank you for sharing!
Lovely cards.
I think I can do this one with my limited supplies. 💜
I’ll have to check those snippets.. I find even after I remove the metal overhand, there’s still some remaining that I can feel..so I smooth out the edge with my Dremel. Thank you all you do to the world of card making

Trinity Stamps has lots of good options
Does it make a difference if the ink has a foam pad vs. felt pad? Love all of these! So pretty and easy to do
You can do either
Beautiful cards Jennifer.
These lovely lavender gemstones you put on the last card, where did you get them?
Jennifer, this was an AWESOME video. I loved seeing all the techniques you showed and seemed simple but with an awesome pop of color and designs. I really want to try this. Thanks for sharing,
Beautiful cards!
This is an amazing technique! Love it and can’t wait to get some. Love your videos and teaching style. I come away thinking I can do the same thing!😉
Hi, Jennifer. When you have the opportunity would you please show how the new Distress Ink color, Uncharted Mariner, fits into the full range of blue Distress inks? I know that's something you've done in the past and it's super helpful. Thank you!

Beautiful, fast, done. 👍
Love these folder/die combos and your technique! I sure wish SSS would go back and make dies for all of their previous 3D folders that we could add-on.
That would be so nice!
Beautiful cards Jennifer. Can’t decide what my fave is. I think maybe the butterfly cards. Thanks for spending your time to share with us! Where did you get the pretty thing that you put on top of die cuts when they are drying?
That is a tile sample that a fellow crafter sent me as a gift
Beautiful! Great techniques! If someone doesn’t have a brayer, is there another tool one could use?
A brayer works best. But you could use a full size ink pad and with a very light hand rub it over the surface
Just a note to let you know that I love your tips and your cards also
These cards are awesome!
I love the intro product education so helpful
What nail polish are you wearing? So pretty.
😍😍😍😍😍
Is it handmade paper used as a shim?
Love, love, love! 💕
Jennifer, what was the weighted item you used to hold butterflies down?
It's a tile sample that a fellow crafter sent me
I can’t wait to “up my game” using your ideas. Thanks for always inspiring me! I also have a question regarding storage of my many embossing folders. I noticed that you label your folders. Do you also put them in clear pockets or can they be stored without that step?
Of course! You can store them without the pockets. I just like the uniform look and the labels I can put on them
Thanks, Jennifer!
I put a label on my folders, but I have them stored just standing up in a basket, no packaging or envelope with them.
Great tips, thank you
Also just darken the edges of the popped up sunflower on the first cars and that will help make it stand out as well
Are you heat setting the white pigment ink that you're putting over the embossed image?
no because it isn't a lot of ink. but you could!
Could you till me were I can get the dies and embassy folder of the butterfly's

Hi Jennifer; Hope your dog is doing well after the surgery. Please keep the updates comimg.
Thank you, your cards are nice. I like the look of those ink pads but us average crafters can only afford so much…….
I hear ya! With ink pads even if I get new colors I still find I go back to my good old favorites 90% of the time. 😀

I can't stand it! Too Beautiful!
