I've been resisting getting the hot foil system, but dang!!! You make it hard!!! Especially with those butterflies! LOVE LOVE LOVE these backgrounds. I can neither confirm nor deny that I may or may not have just ordered three sets of magical powder.... You're a (wonderfully) bad influence on me!! Full disclosure: I'm a watercolor painter, and I can see ALL KINDS of applications for these powders!!! Thank you for your instructions and sharing your wonderful card-making skills with us all. You are a crafting treasure, Jennifer!!
Jennifer, may I just say (before I watch) that I live for your 30-minute-long videos, the longer the better! You’re the only one who inspires me to workout for more than 30 minutes … I only wish I don’t get the urge to buy all the new products you used! And that is why I so so appreciate hearing you say “ use what you have” and offering alternatives. May God bless you more as you share your creativity with us! Oh and it’s 9:47 am where I am …
Another awesome video! I LOVE watching your videos Jennifer. They are always jammed packed with so many great ideas. Thanks for everything you share with us.
I love how you think up all these ideas 💡 I'll try to get of those magical powders. They are all so pretty, Thank you so much for all your great and beautiful ideas, they are always so pretty and great!! This maybe the first time I've made a commit THANK-YOU VERY MUCH ❤
Thank you Ms. McGuire. I had totally forgotten about my Magical powders. I bought them along with a couple of dozen of Lindy’s sprays. I put them in a drawer and, poof, out of sight. Out of my mind. I’ve had great fun playing with them today!
Thanks for all the inspiration Jennifer! I have loved Lindy's products for a long time because of their metallic finishes ~ especially the 2 tone embossing powders!! Try STAMPING with your magicals! You'll love it and I can't wait to see all of the ideas I'm sure will bloom from trying this out!!! Have a lovely day
A few years back I was obsessed with Lindy's magical powders and sprays. I collected all the shakers, almost all of the sprays, a few tubes of magical powders and a couple of squirts. I haven't used them in a long while though.
I have the nuvo shimmer powders and did some fantastic cards using a watercolor foiled coloring book I picked up somewhere. It was so fun and easy and they were some the best cards I ever made. I don't have the Lindy's but the nuvo ones are very shiny with lots of surprise colors the water brings out just like the Lindy's. I'll have to try that embossed resist, that is super pretty! I made another butterfly acetate card like you showed the other day but this time I just die cut the butterflies and glued them on top of the acetate which was a bit easier for me because I get a little messy if I try to do too much. All your ideas are so adaptable to other things as well as truly beautiful and special.
THANK YOU for introducing us to another new fun technique. I didn’t know about this product until your video. I couldn’t resist getting some of these products. Can’t wait to play with them! You always open our eyes and minds with new ways to create. TFS
What beautiful backgrounds Jennifer! LOVE the shimmer and shine and the cards you've created with them are oh so pretty! LOVE the one with the 'You Mean The World To Me' sentiment cut from the foiled card base, it's gorgeous and the butterflies, so so pretty! A fabulous tutorial, thank you! xoxo
What fun to see you use Lindy’s!! It’s so nice that you branch out and try new (to you) things!. I absolutely love the Summer Break set from my friends Nunu and Martina.....they also have a great Outer Space set....with names like Alien Goo Green and Galactic Teal (I love the names they come up with!). Watching Nunu’s channel is a real experience because she is an absolute master with Lindy’s....such a great product! TYFS!! ❤️🦋💜
Like other mica powders, this makes travelling with your supplies so much easier. No liquids to contend with, and water is readily available. The ease and quickness of achieving magical backgrounds is wonderful and I am hooked! Thanks again Jennifer for sharing your creativity!
I LOVE it when you make cards from backgrounds! I have a huge stash of them because I make them when the mojo is lacking or depression i is in full blast. Anyway these look more controllable than other brands I've used and I just absolutely LOVE that blue too! Wow! It's really stunning!! Thanks for sharing! Sleep well Jennifer!
I love all your videos. I ordered two sets of powders and three of the Simon Says background stamps because you make them look so gorgeous! I finally got around to playing with them and they turned out GREAT!!!! Thank you for the inspiration.
I stumbled across Lindy's Magical Powders a few years ago and LOVE using them as do my grandkids! Using them as watercolor paints give amazing results...such vibrant colors! i have used them a lot for die cutting butterflies, etc but struggle at times with using the entire background for my cards. i am so grateful to you for sharing all your ideas with us! To give everyone an idea of how little powder is needed for great results...I bought mine about 4 yrs ago and just now needing to replace 2 of my favorites, Queen of Hearts (a vibrant red) & Curiouser Chartreuse (a great lime green mix)! I will try to share a few of my cards on Jennifer's home page if I can figure out how! thank you again Jennifer for sharing your talent with us!
Thank you, Jennifer! Once again you showed some great ideas. Just a note on the Lindy's powders. There are some without shimmer and it is easy to overlook if you don't know: They are marked as FLAT. As you may guess, I am speaking from experience! I still love the flat ones aswell because - just like watercolour in pans - they will be good to go forever, contrary to colour in spray bottles that keep clogging up. Plus those little pots take up minimal space. 🥰😘
This is a truly fabulous video. So many ideas. I bought one set of the powders when you mentioned them in another video, but now I see I need more! So much fun.
Thank you again for some great ideas. I don't usually make multiple cards, but individual ones for friends and family. No two are the same. So it really helps to get so many new ideas from you. Beautiful cards again!
@@jennifermcguireink Oh I know each is different. The point is you give so many new ideas. I didn't mean yours were all the same. I get excited every time I see you have a new video out. I like how you have an idea and really expand on creative ways to use it.
Holy cannoly, Jennifer - these cards are fabtastic!!! I love the way you packed the punch of colour into those backgrounds and yet made the sentiment still be a focal part - simply amazing!!! Thank you, as always for sharing such visual eye candy through your artistic eye! 👏💖😍
Holy cow! Fabulous! Whoever receives this thank you card at 20:00 should send you a thank you card for the thank you card LOL. Your work never ceases to amaze me!!
Gorgeous cards. Ordered my Lindy powders and I can’t wait to get them. When I do, I’m sure I’ll be watching this video again. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Great video! I've had the Lindy's Magicals for years but rarely use them because, well, out of sight, out of mind. I do have a box of backgrounds that used various techniques so hopefully I can find some time to add some Lindy's Magicals backgrounds to the stash. I love the look of the hot foil addition, but I just can't justify the expense of the system. I've got to stop somewhere, lol. Thanks for the inspiration.
I have these and other powders and if you take only 1 suggestion away from this video please make it the one where she says to use only a SMALL amount of powder. After you spray your piece with water, the powder continues to move as it dries. If you use too much it turns to mud. At first it will look like you need more. Don't listen to your head! This technique is so much fun but you want the end result to be something you can use. Some of the powders have more metallics in them and they dry pretty icky if you use too much. And Jennifer - you're a genius and I love you :)
I've been resisting getting the hot foil system, but dang!!! You make it hard!!! Especially with those butterflies! LOVE LOVE LOVE these backgrounds.

Jennifer, I did it. I bought a few sets .. it’s your fault…😂😂😂😂😂 thank youuuuu, I’ll play with them as soon my magical powders arrives 😘😘😘😘😘😘
Beautiful results.
Many of the backgrounds look like a Van gogh style painting. Very unique.
WOW Jennifer, wow, wow, wow! What amazing backgrounds. Thanks so much. 😊

The colors are so pretty. Very tye dye.
When you first sprinkle the powder on the wet paper, it reminds me of Van Gough!
It does!
