8 years later and your video has proven to be of great help. Have a 2011 Honda Accord with only 50,000 miles on it, not daily driven (I am the original owner) and the dealer asked $300 USD 😂😂 to replace the part.., many thanks
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! I ordered the part off Amazon for $17.83, and just fixed it by myself for free. As a woman that knows next to nothing about cars, THANK YOU SO MUCH for making and sharing this video.
I have a 2009 Accord and the same process applied! Thank you for your help! I was lucky to have come across this video. Since I went to the Honda dealership for a recall notice, I asked how much they would charge me to get it done there and a manager told me they’d charge ~$300 because they “had to pull the center console apart.” Decided to give it a try myself and paid ~$22 for the part and got it fixed myself within 3 minutes. You’re the best! Thanks a million
Thankful for RUclips and people like you who post such helpful information that allowed my husband and I (seniors in our 70s) to inexpensively fix the non-functioning AUX feature in our 2008 Honda Accord. I ordered the part from Amazon based on other comments and it is now working like a charm. Appreciate you! 👏🙌
So easy! I spent a total of $20 for the part and the tool(s) and now I'm up and running music from my phone's playlist. Thank you so much and keep making videos. I have the exact same vehicle as your wife and as a single woman I'm always tinkering to save some dough.
Awesome. I was looking at replacing the stereo because the Aux button did not work any longer. It never occurred to me that it was the jack. Then I found this video and realized how cheaply I can probably fix this. The dealership wanted $28 for the part but I ordered it online for $19. Thanks Mr. Arizona!!!
Thanks my dude! We just purchased this car and I could see someone broke an end off in it. So I took the whole thing apart and pushed it out. Put it all back together and now it works perfect!!
Great video. Ordered the part from Amazon for less than $20, swapped out in less than 10 minutes. Used needle nosed pliers to pinch the clips. Super easy.
Thank you for doing your first video about the very same thing I now need to fix on my 2008 Honda Accord. Here’s hoping it’s an easy fix for me (72 yr old woman) as it was for you.
Thank you so much for this video!!! My aux jack broke over a year ago and I never wanted to spend the money to get it fixed; I thought it entailed a lot more work. After finding your video I was able to use the replacement piece we got off of the internet and now we're up and running again. I couldn't believe that I was able to fix this problem.
I had the same problem with my 2009 Honda Accord. I watched your video, bought the part and the tool and had it installed in about 5 minutes. Thanks a lot for sharing this informative video.
@@ChurchClown7 I've had this issue for awhile now. Press the auxiliary button, nothing happens. I assumed it was a problem with the head unit and ordered another one, no luck. Now I am considering this replacement. So is that what yours was doing? Everything worked fine except the aux?
Thank you! I thought I would have to remove the center console also. However this was an easy fix. Don’t forget to support your local junk yard. Parts like this are even cheaper when you get it from there.
Thank you sooooooooooo much for this video. I followed what you said right down to the Trim tool kit from Harbor freight. I replaced it in less than 10 minutes. The dealer wanted $55.00 for a half hour to put it in. It works great!!!!
Dude, thank you so much for this video, I was afraid of taking this apart since I heard some “very involving” comments that made it seem super tedious, I’ll be getting the part on Friday and replacing it!
Thank you so much for this video! I ordered the part off of Amazon and was struggling to install it when I came across your video. I’m so glad I did because I would have probably ripped off some wires in the process. Anyway, this method is way easier and now I can go back to enjoying my music :)
Dude, thank u so much for your first video. It was precisely on target. I didn't have a trim tool so I simply used a plastic card to open the panel. Purchased my replacement aux port on Amazon and your video saved me time and money. I can't believe I waited so long to tackle this 5 minute project. Thank you.
Thank you for this video! This was a fix that saved me a ton of money and I was able to do myself. Only took about 5 minutes and my music is back playing in my car.
Thanks for this video. The aux port quit working on my daughter's Accord last night. It would work if you pushed hard on one side of the jack. Thanks to this video, I have the old part removed and the new one ordered.
Actual GOD SEND. A lot of videos covering this only show when the aux is under the radio. But its a pain and a half trying to do the same approach from the center console. This was super helpful 👏 👏👏👏
nice video bro I just had the aux port stopped working problem and was looking all over the place to find out how to replace it myself cause the dealer will charge $120.00 to do the work which is ridiculous your video is very helpful thank you
No need to replace the aux input port generally . If AUX button not working, Just plug off the connector in the back seat air conditioner fan output, and short-circuited the grey and yellow line.
GREAT VIDEO! In my case I had to use needle nose pliers to pinch the tabs from under the aux port. Then and only then did it pop out. Once I did that, the Aux button on the radio once again became responsive. Thanks again, I'm sure this save me a few hundred dollars.
Thank you! I was getting ready to remove the whole console to get to the Aux input piece. I was able to pull it out through the cubby hole at the top but could not reach the green elec connector. Awesome post dude.
My dealership wanted almost $40 for the part BEFORE LABOR. Including shipping I got it for about $25 online. What a scam! Thanks for the awesome video- glad it's so easy to do!
Thank you so very much for this video! I ordered the panel removal kit from Amazon and the part from OEM Partsource with the part number you provided (Honda still doesn’t have the part in stock after 3 weeks). I was able to do it myself in less than 10 minutes and it only cost me about $30. You are Awesome!
Thank you for this video. I had this same problem on my 2010 accord. I took the old switch apart to find out whats happening. There are 5 wires, 3 for audio and 2 for a switch. Well the switch is nothing more than a cheap leaf of metal that gets bent when the headphone jack is inserted. When the switch is met then the radio can change to aux mode. So for people that dont want to spend 20 bux they could just short the two wires but they need to know which those are. I spent the 20 bux. The honda dealership tried to charge me saying the car was missing some wiring. morons. I am in Arizona also.
Hey this was really great video just so you know though you don’t have to take Off the sides of the center console just that back piece. Just put your tool right on the sides of the back of the center console and it will pop right off
Hello Brother, Since the past 1 year i have been trying to remove this shit out of my Honda accord 08, fortunately 3 days back i have taken the AUX port from the box ( not from the behind of the box like the way you showed me) i took it out directly and it was a hard task. Im from Dubai and i didnt know where to get the aux except from the dealer since they charge so high. Now i repaired it myself. only if you had posted this video early i could save my time. Anyways thanks .. appreciate your concern to post it online and help many.
Thanks for the video my friend! Mine works if I wiggle it but now is gone. I am surprised the aux part at the dealer is so cheap, going to dealer to buy it. And by the way, accord reliability is very good but haven't you noticed they cheap out on parts, for example my stick shift is worned, the cloth on the ceiling is sagging, the console plastic is chipping, my drivers side viser dsnt stay up, they are little things here and there. My wife has a. 04 Corolla and every thing looks almost new . Maybe I got the one built on Friday when they were crazy to go home? Hahaha
Great video. Very helpful despite the fact that your filmmaking skills are what could be considered lacking. Lol. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Thank you again. Awesome!!
Thank you so much I thought I was going to have to pay a lot of money but I can handle that thank you sir 👍 great video and you did a good on the video

Thank you so much from 2021 :)
I have a small question, for me when I press to the aux button it’s showing nothing on the screen like there is no button at all, is that was your problem as well?
You’re welcome from 2022. That’s how it was and nothing worked. It was like there was no aux connection to the stereo
