- my long-time subscribers will know instantly why this hunt is so special! Today we are back in Biloxi for another beach treasure hunt. Wait til you see what was in the scoop! I'll be using my Deus II metal detector, Fisher F-Pulse Pinpointer, and CKG sandscoop.

When you mentioned feeling like someone was coming from behind you, my 31 years as a cop kicked in. Be really careful using your headphones in the dark or a secluded area especially when not many other people around. You want to keep what we call "situational awareness" and be able to hear and see things and people around you. Glad to see you back. Great hunts and finds. You are really becoming a pro at detecting.
Well I'd like to think whoever is walking circles around her filming her hunts would certainly have her back. 💁

I think I was already a little paranoid because there were some sketchy people hanging out at one of the nearby restroom facilities. I try and keep a close eye on who is around me. Thankfully I wasn’t alone for this hunt.🙂🍀

(thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

Thanks for highlighting the C-130 out of Keesler. I worked on those airplanes for many years at Eglin AFB and McChord AFB. Also went to the First Sergeant Academy at Keesler. Lots of fond memories. Aim High! Great finds too!

Big congrats on the gold, Gin! I was worried when I saw how crusted up it was when you first dug it up, but 10K will do that in just the right environmental conditions. The coin ring is also a very cool find. I've made a few, but have never been lucky enough to find one. That particular variety is a double sided coin ring, where you make a hole that should be perfectly centered on the coin, and large enough to then slip onto a ring mandrel. Then, with a rawhide or acrylic mallet, you hammer the edge of the coin downward, all while slowly turning the mandrel, eventually producing the cone shaped item you found. Further work can be done to eliminate the taper, but whoever made that one just chose to go the most basic route....or possibly lost it before finishing it....which seems less likely. If you look close enough inside the ring, there's a good chance you'll find the date and denomination. It's definitely an American coin, it's just hard to tell exactly what it is, based on the video. You're right that those are best made from silver coins (or even gold), but the modern clad stuff can be used if you know what you're doing. That does appear to be some sort of modern clad U.S. coin, probably a quarter or one of the gold toned presidential or Sacagawea dollar coins. Let us know if you find out!

What a super cache you found! I can't help but think that a trip back to Pensacola Beach, AFTER the Blue Angel Air Show (around the 4th of July) would be a monster hunt for dropped items.

Being in USAF. Worked on those hurricane hunter C130 sircrsft.
Humidity can get rough there no doubt. Hard to imagine the water where you were detecting was some 25 feet over your head when both Camille came calling back in 69 and when ole Katrina came in 2005.
It really is hard to imagine. If it weren’t for the debris I find when hunting there, you’d really not see any evidence.

Looks like your behind Sharkheads! I detected all along that area last summer, pull tabs and beer bottle caps for me!! I’ve been going to Waveland and Bay St.Louis beaches lately. I found a silver ring near the volleyball courts, and lots of clad change. Also a Mardi Gras dabloon from 1978!
That’s the exact spot. It’s my favorite place to start when I hit that beach. 🙂

Good load of finds.
I get my best finds on wet sand at my local beaches. The dry sees more detector pressure and is covered in rubbish. I love finding a coin line in the wet.
I try to hunt the wet when I can but never seem to have much luck. I’m going to keep after it though because I know it’s an area where most detectorists do well.
I haven't been to Biloxi in quite a long time. But I love the beach there as it is very clean. And you make the beach look even better. Happy hunting!

Awww, thanks ever so much my friend. I’m loving the Deus II; definitely starting to understand and interpret it much better. I was using beach, tweaked a bit. I love that magnifier - people often suggest a smaller lighter one, but this one is my preference by far.

Looks like a C-130 Hercules flying overhead, we have a base nearby and see those all the time (wish I was near an ocean though). That chunky ring was beautiful and the stones looked so real! Big news…now retired and planning to move to FL next year to get out of the cold, snowy North, be close to siblings and beaches where I hope to treasure hunt! Who knows, maybe our paths will cross one day? Can you recommend/suggest a good detector for treasure hunting on the beach? I think that’s going to be my main focus. Thanks for taking me along 🤗

Great video Gin, brings back memories. I was stationed at Keesler back in 1968 in the air force and loved the beaches.
It would be a great spot to be stationed. I was never so lucky. Even though I was Air Force, I always got stuck at Army bases.🤦♀️

Gin they sell kits / tools for making coin rings. Neat hobby with most rings being made from silver dollars and silver half dollars. The one you found appears to have not been well made.
Unfortunately it wasn’t silver. That would have been nice, but still, a very neat find.😃

Cool finds the coin ring is cool I make those but they didn't complete it to be round, it is like they said it was good enough. You should be able to find a date on it.The gold ring is nice and the CZ's look good.

I live nearby and as a side note, hurricane Katrina sadly washed out the Biloxi cemetery across the highway there and deposited dozens of bodies on the beach.Not to creep y'all out,but I'd be queasy to keep jewelry from that sand ...😮
