Hi Andrew - loved your 1st video and looking forward to more. The Earth Goddess's dress looks like that fabric you just bought. Do a floss toss on it with the floss when you get it and see if that would work. I have seen other flosstubers stitching that and it is really beautiful done up. Good luck. The Celtic ladies - you could do the first one in the season you decide to do them and then take the rest as you feel.

Hi Andrew😊 welcome. I'm a quilter as well, so I knew what the water soilibile was. Thank you for showing your sweatshirt.. I was rubbing my head on how to stitch on it. I make t-shirt quilts and use a stabilizer on the back.
I have a Mira that is a witch, but I'm not there yet in my stitching. But I like Autumn Lane Forest...
I'm stitching The fruit of Plenty as I watch you.

Welcome to Floss Tube! You had me at waste canvas and cross stitching on sweatshirts! That brought back memories! You should try a full coverage HAED (Heaven and Earth Design) project after Sailor Moon. 25 ct easy grid and Pattern Keeper makes full coverage much easier! Subscribed! Theresa Little Stitcher and Chris are 2 of my favorite people on Floss Tube!

I used to do cross stitch on waste canvas on sweatshirts for my kids, many years ago (late 80’s,90’s). I saved all the pieces and gave them to my kids when they started having kids and my DIL sent my a picture of my grandson earring one of my son’s sweatshirts. And it happened to be a Leisure Arts teddy bears one with them in a wagon

Thank you for sharing with us. RUclips suggested your channel to me. I wanted to comment on your 12 count Sailor Moon piece. You mentioned using 3 strands for it was super tough because you vouldn't use loop start.....but you *can* use loop start, with 1 strand, 2 strand variegated, 3 strands, any number of strands. Do a youtube search for 1 strand loop start, and use the same method for 3 strands. It works well for any number of strands. Hope this helps. I am glad to follow another newtuber...welcome to Flosstuberverse.

Welcome! Thanks for your video! W/R/T Beading, I can't remember any of my beading projects (including several Mirabilias) that ask for 2 threads to attach beads. One thread is PLENTY and will hold the bead on fine. Even on my ornaments that get handled a lot, I use only one thread, but when it is a pillow, ornament or anything that gets handled a lot, i go the extra mile and tie my thread when ending/tucking just to be sure nothing comes loose. One small knot with one thread will not show on the front. Some stitchers always iron on interfacing to lock everything in, but I am lazy, if I know my finish will be handled a lot, I knot as I go along with the beads. Everything you have done looks wonderful so far! Please keep sharing!

      @therunnerstitcher  10 месяцев назад

Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed. Appreciate all the advice! I did think it was odd to do 2 strands for the beads on the ornament kit. Excited and nervous to get started on a larger beading project!

I have been stitching for over 50 years. I prefer the mesh bags from Amazon to the fancy ones shown on flosstube. The money I save for one thing lets me buy better fabric for my projects. Also, you hit the nail on the head when you said you can see the project in them, and yet the paper does not stick to the mesh as opposed to vinyl front bags.

Hello! I sure enjoyed your first flosstube! You did a great job presenting all you cross stitched projects and patterns. I was so surprised to see someone stitching on garments. I did a lot of that back in the 80’s and 90’s. I think you are going to bring lots of memories back to us seniors, and some younger stitchers will give it a try.
I am not a runner but I enjoy bike tours. I did run 2 halves which equals one marathon in my mind. Fargo has a great marathon in the spring and Duluth, MN has Grandma’s marathon in June. Good luck to you in both your running and your flosstube.

Hi Carmen, thank you so much! I hope it does inspire people to stitch on clothing as I think it's a great way to finish cross stitch and a great gift! I guess I have my mom to thank for that since she is the one who taught me! 2 halves is a great accomplishment. I also enjoying biking :)

I just found your first floss tube today, and it was so great! I’m hooked and can’t wait to watch them all, and your new ones. I used to run 10k, half and full marathons, and totally lost my fitness when Snowmageddon here in St. John’s , Newfoundland, Canada, and then Covid and just some tough times in life happened. Rediscovering cross stitch the past few months has been helping me so much, and now seeing someone who has a mix of both bringing them such happiness is giving me some real inspiration. And then when your first two FFOs were my two favourite things-a unicorn and an owl!? Thank you so much for sharing your time and beautiful projects and stories!

Aww thank you so much Angela!! Welcome to the channel and I'm so happy you found it and are enjoying the content! That's amazing that you used to run races as well! I totally get that and after Covid it was really tough to get back into things for me to. If you're feeling like you want to you can always just get out for 1 mile as a start :). I definitely enjoy running and then recovering with some stitchy time ha. hope you enjoy the rest of the videos if you get a chance to watch them! Happy stitching!

@@therunnerstitcher Thank you so much for the encouragement and advice! Even though I should know not to start off trying to do too much, it definitely helps to hear it from an advanced runner. I’m really enjoying everything about your videos, and watching them as I stitch. And you’ve put your finger exactly on the biggest thing I need to do to get back on track with the running-the running comes FIRST, THEN the stitching lol. Definitely need to work on the order of operations 👍 ☺️

Great video. I enjoyed watching. Well I vote for the kiss but full disclosure, I am a long time mirabilia stitcher. I have completed many many of them, big and small. At the beginning of 23, I have 4 or 5 large Mira’s that I needed to bead. I finished the beading this year, thank god. I used to use beading needles but they are the devils work. 🤪. I started using bohin needles, they were a game changer for me. The smaller ones (size 28 or maybe 26? I have 100s of each). I do use them for all of my Mira beading. The smaller one has an eye large enough to thread but will go through about 95% of all of the beads. For fabric for the kiss, I might go with a dark blue. It’s a mostly full coverage so I don’t know that a hand dyed would be good but I would look at that bottom part of the dress and see what threads will lie on the outside of that part. The middle part of the stitching won’t matter much but the outside will. Pick a fabric that will look good against that part. Bit do a floss toss anyway. Hopefully that makes sense.

    Hi Andrew
You did a fantastic job for your First Video.
For the Dimensions Kits - what I do with mine is that I will switch out the Fabric cause they are so skimpy with their fabric - you’re lucky if you have a inch border on the ends and the sides.
There is a Mira group on Face Book and it is a fantastic group to belong to. If you have any questions or anything about Mira’s one or two people from the group will answer them for you.
Love your Finishes - they are so pretty.
I wear Mag Eyes when I am stitching. They are like the ones that Surgeons will wear over their heads and the lens part of it pulls down over your eyes. I wear them at all times when I am stitching. There is different Lens Strengths that comes with the Set.
    Love your WIPS
Where did you get the Water Soulable Waste Canvas from?
    Take Care & Happy Stitching
