WOW LADIES ….. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IM SEEING YOU BOTH ….😳 YOUR STITCHING 🧵 IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS…. ❤️❤️I HAVE NEVER SEEN STITCHING PROJECTS THAT BIG ….. THANK GOD YOU BOTH HAVE A LONG LIFE AHEAD …… I WILL BE CHECKING IN ON YOU ……. HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎊🎆
I plan to live until 120, so big projects are fun. LOL! Welcome to the channel. Hope you have an amazing 2024 with all the stitching time you can possibly get. ~J
Thank you! Stitching one together was a better idea before she got pregnant and had a baby (and got pregnant again). It's so much harder to find time to work together these days. I figure in about 18 years we can do it more consistently. ~J
We just need to get Alyssa over here more often (not during work hours) so few can make more progress!!!! I'm also thinking the two grandkids will each be able to take a corner in future years. Can four people work on it at once???? ~J
Hi Julie and Alyssa! So wonderful to see you both today. Alyssa, you look like you are feeling much better. So many beautiful WIPs. I love how you do the before and after photos. Thank you for all the work that goes into a WIP parade. Hope you have a wonderful New Year and that all is well with the family. Happy stitching. Dawn in Texas
Thank you and you're welcome, lol. Secretly, I enjoyed seeing the before and after pics because I really felt like I hadn't accomplished much this year. Happy stitching!! ~J
Awesome wip parade ladies, loved them all. I just came across your channel tonight sure glad I did. Happy New Year to you both. Sorry to hear about your Mom & dog. Happy stitching. 😊
Well hello and welcome! I hope you watch again. Large projects just seem to call to us. Although a small one here and there is a nice change. As you can tell, no project is too big or too small. We are not easily intimidated (at least with cross stitch). ~J
You two just showed up in my feeds, so since it was a wip parade, I clicked. I loved you both. Thank you for sharing your perpetrators. Oh, I subscribed!
You just showed up on my feed! Yeah love big projects! I'm confused- do you share projects or you do your own projects? Congrats on your mom's port placement! Best thing she's ever done! I'm now done my Chemo and my port will be removed next week! So glad I had it! Think about a black oval mat then a square frame . Oval frames that large are very expensive as they are custom made.
We have one project we share (that massive bookshelf) and the rest we do on our own. I can see where it would be confusing, though. Alyssa also has the moose project and the afghan. She just didn't bring hers because she doesn't work on them often. Oh, she is doing pandemic as well. But hers is so much prettier than mine. The bulk of what you saw was mine. Congrats on finishing your chemo and getting the port removed. I'm so excited for you!!!!! Thanks for the mat tip! ~J
Just found your channel and loving your wips. I watch Karla too and was inspired to get snapdragon. I haven't started it yet because I can't decide on what color of fabric to use. I was thinking something in the yellow/orange range so I was excited to see your fabric choice. The greens and blueish-purple really pops on it.
I'm not great with successfully picking fabrics, but snapdragon is one I absolutely love. I agree completely about the colors popping. Once you start it, you should send a pic of the WIP so we can show it here. I'd love to see yours. ~J
You guys are so funny! I loved the fingers when you said WIP parade. You have some amazing WIPs. I’m also stitching Herbularius by Chatelaine but I’m still in the center. You make me want to stitch the TW dragon castle for my son. Happy Stitching!
You will probably have finished Herbularius before I finish that last corner!! If you can find it, you should definitely stitch the dragon castle. Just don't do it on aida!!!!!! I mean you can. You do you. ~J
I am very lucky to have such an amazing daughter and extra lucky that she also enjoys stitching. I'm hoping the grandkids will have a love for stitching as well. ~J
Funny you should mention finishes. I pulled out a project this weekend and fixed the massive mistake and am hoping to finish it in the next couple of weeks. Finishes are nice. I like finishes. Progress is my thing though. As long as I see progress, I'm a happy stitcher. I don't know if you are gong to Queen City again this year. I really really want to, but it's the week before Stitch West and I can't swing both. I love Autumn Lane so I'm bummed. Then again, maybe Stitch West will refuse to let me register. Oh, but then Queen City will be full by then. Darn! Maybe 2025. I'm going to meet you one day! ~J
I enjoyed your parade! Y’all kept me company as I stitched! You made great progress this past year! Look forward to seeing what this year brings! Happy Stitching!🪡❤️🪡
I hope you made great progress while watching. So far I've avoided all of Christina's crazy plans so this year may not have any crazy round robins or massive whales. Sounds boring. ~J
I always enjoy your WIP parades. I curled up with my stitching to watch you. When your showed your last project I found that I'd completed 700 stitches so thanks! It amazes me how much you can accomplish while letting your wheel pick what you work on. I wanted to mention that I found my oval frame on ebay for less than $20 for Plague Doctor so maybe one will pop up for you too.
700 stitches!!!!! That's really impressive. Good job! Thanks for the eBay tip. I will start looking there. My wheel mostly doesn't hate me...yet. Ha ha. ~J
Wow, those bulbs and those jars, they look fa-bu-lous, so realistic! Of course we all love Kito and enjoy so much seeing her in the beginning of each video, but those projects... I also love that Afgan and I have not seen it anywhere else, it would be so rewarding once finished! I just have a tiny regret that I did not see both of your moose, he is the funniest thing on flosstube together with Old Smokey Dragon stitched by Bohemian sticher. Really enjoyed seeing all your projects, they are all beuatiful. I too have stamped kits, but I like changing things from the stamped image and creating a flower or a tree where another image is already printed, which is funny, because I do not have the courage to change anything with not stamped fabrics. Happy new year to all of you! Happy stitching and joyful videos in 2024, as always!
Stitching Big Things with Hallie actually finished that afghan. I can't remember which video she showed it in, but it was gorgeous. It made me want to work on mine even more. Now if I could just get the wheel to cooperate... I'll have to look up Old Smokey Dragon. I'm sure Alyssa will work on her moose sometime this year. If she does, I'll work on mine as well so you can see them both together. I guess that would work well since she's doing one side and I'm doing the other. You could get a full moose out of that. You are crazy creative and talented if you can change things that don't even exist on the stamped kits. Good for you! ~J
It would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope I have enabled you. Mini deer creek is such a great one. I almost bought it, but I loved the cabin in Gone Fishin. Clearly I like cabins (stitching at the cabin). Ha ha. ~J
I don’t know how I stumbled on your channel, but the two of you are super fun and have great energy to watch! I don’t cross stitch, but I do diamond painting, and I’m not 100% sure, but I believe Katie from YT DiamondsandWashi is working on a cross stitch to diamond painting conversion project of the “fairytale bookshelf” that you both are working on together. If so, that’s a really lovely way to see the difference in the crafts. Also, the first piece you showed of the beautiful woman with the dinosaur in the background is absolutely gorgeous!!! Lovely work, the both of you! ❤
I cannot imagine the weight of a dp bookshelf project. Alyssa and I both diamond paint , or at least we have in the past. I'd still like to, but I need to retire before I can find the time to tackle all of my hobbies. As you'd expect, we didn't go small with dp either. I have several large ones waiting for some love. I wish I could remember which episode, but one of them shows a picture of Alyssa laying next to an unstarted dp project that's bigger than she is! ~J
@@stitchingatthecabin I believe she split the massive cross stitch to DP conversion project into 8 total separate panels (representing the left and right halves of each bookshelf) to make it more manageable to work on and to carry around, because obviously diamond paintings cannot be rolled up as tightly as blank canvas/thread. :)
Really enjoyed seeing all your WIPs!! You’ve got me very tempted to start a Glendon Place pattern, but we’ll see lol. Looking forward to all your progress in 2024 🪡💚
Thank you! I'm pretty sure it is 20 count. It's the same fabric (cut from the same piece) that I'm using for Prickly Owl (the owl standing on the cactus). ~J
What a wonderful WIP parade. That's amazing to do a project together on the same fabric. I wonder what happens if one of you wants to look at the back?!? 😊. The birdhouse pattern (Au fil des nichoirs) is pronounced 'O fee day kneeshwah'. I studied French at school and college. You mentioned a wheel spinning a few times. What wheel is that? I'm doing WIPGO for the first time this year. I'm sorry that your mother is going through cancer treatment. I hope that it is successful.
Fortunately there is enough space between the two that looking at the back isn't an issue, but we realized it's going to be a problem when we get closer to the center (in 250 years). Thanks for the pronunciation. I'll try to remember it, but that's a tough one. It sounds so international when you say it. Snazzy. I have an app on my phone called Tiny Decisions. I put all my WIPs on a wheel and that's what I spin each week to see what project I will work on over the weekend. If you go super close to the end, I spin it on this episode. I can't remember what it picked. Umm...oh, the wreath project. I find if I have to make a decision, I lose time stitching because I don't want to decide and I know some projects will never get worked on if left up to me. The wheel keeps me from having to make a choice and forces me to work on projects I may not feel like doing at the time. Once I get started, I am normally very happy with any and all of them. Thanks for watching! ~J
Yup. She is pregnant again. It's another girl. She is due at the end of May. I'm definitely excited about that WIP although it means I have to work faster on the Little Pond WIP for the baby. Eep! ~J
You should finish Wentzler dragon since Feb brings in Year of the dragon. You can use the hashtag #yearofthedragonsal. You have lots of beautiful projects.
That is an amazing idea, but I don't think I'm anywhere near close enough to actually finish this year. I'm going to keep this in mind though. Maybe I can? Maybe? ~J
Beautiful projects!! I've started the Christmas afghan. Can you offer any tips to get better coverage? I started in the barn section and find the coverage sparse .
A fellow Christmas afghan-er. Woohoo!!!! I have not had any issues with it being sparse but then I'm just barely getting into a building. Are you using four strands over two squares? If you are and are unhappy, my only suggestion would be to bump it to six strands. I can't imagine threading a needle with six strands though. Yikes! ~J
@@devonacross9047 I would love to see a picture (stitchingatthecabin@gmail.com). I don't see another solution since you can't change to a darker fabric.
Alyssa rarely has a chance to get in here and reply to comments although she reads most/all of them. She does not knit, so I can guarantee she didn't make the sweater herself. She can crochet, though. I'm so glad we popped up in your feed. Thanks for giving us a chance! ~J

Great WIP parade. I had forgotten about some of those pieces ... hopefully more of them will get some love in 2024!!
