Great first video and you have some beautiful projects going. To fix column lines - flip your work over - you will be able to see the bare areas that form the line on the back of your work. Take a similar color thread and weave under the stitches back and forth over the bare area all the way down where you see it. That will make them no longer noticeable. Happy Stitching! Laura
Thank you so much! Omg that is such a great idea! I never thought of that... I will definitely have to give it a try! Maybe once it's all done so I can weave all the way down each line in one go... Thank you for the suggestion! :D
Teresa little stitcher is also the one who got me back into cross stitch! I learned when I was young but had only seen the kits at the craft store and hated them. Then I came across her channel and saw her full coverage pieces and I was like , that is what I want! I’m obsessed with her channel 😂
Yesss! Me too! I never LOVED anything that I saw in store - probably why I put it down for so long after originally learning... but after discovering her channel and so may other Flosstuber's channels, it was like a whole new world opened up, haha!
Great first FlossTube. Really enjoyed watching, you have some beautiful projects. I also have the same free pattern from Heaven & Earth but I haven’t started mine yet. You should check out the new free patterns they have an Owl one that is pretty cute. I am so impressed that you jump right into a full cover for your first project. Looking forward to your next FlossTube
Thank you so much for the lovely comment! Oh my gosh! I wish I saw this comment earlier! I discovered the Freebie owl on HAED and mentioned it in my second video!! But you should definitely start the parrot ;) the colours make it so fun to stitch!
Awesome 1st Flosstube McKenzie 🎉!!! Your a natural and did just fine. Love all your ideas 💡 for future videos and looking forward to them all, especially Stitch with me's...they're my favorite. I also learned full coverage diagonal stitching from Teresa Little Stitcher and have finished my 1st full coverage by The Cross Stitch Studio, called Mr and Mrs Cardinal and now im working on my 2nd Full Coverage called Spotted by the same company. Love what you and your friend are doing with the temperature tree of Sarah the stitching mommy....that is an Awesome idea and I've never heard of anyone else stitching it this way for a gift....she will love and cherish it when it's completed. Hope you have a great week and looking forward to your next update 🥰
Thank you so much!! I loved reading your comment! Good for you for finishing your first full coverage! I have yet to do that and I'm hoping Flosstube will motivate me to get one done even sooner! I just looked up the pieces you're doing and they look absolutely gorgeous! Keep it up!! :D
@thenightowlstitcher Awwwe....Thats so sweet of you to take the time and look at the pieces I'm stitching and have finished...I just hit 40.1% on my deer piece. Working towards a hoop move...thank you so much for your kind words
Thank you very much! I think Teresa is the best enabler out there ;) haha. I have at least 3 projects that I started because of her - she is truly a beautiful stitcher!
Enjoyed your first video! I have a project I only take on airplane flights! It’s also a DMC kit, it’s been in the works for about 3 years! Lol! But I do have several flights coming up, maybe I will have a finish! Thanks!😊
HelloMacKenzie. I enjoyed your video. I enjoy full coverage as well. The Flosstube Stitcher was my enabler in 2015. She is currently working on Fairly Whispers, and I love the piece. I also watch Small Town Stitcher and , and she has a maxing pieces, I miss. Julie Nicely. She hasssome nice full coverage too. Crafty Gaming Jamie has ful coverage pieces and I think she is fast. Have a blessed wee k .
Hi Sheryle! I actually just recently discovered Crafting Gaming Jamie myself! She is also great! I will have to check out the other Flosstubers you mentioned! :D Thank you so much for watching and the comment!
Great video! Your magwayn is beautiful. I want to do that one someday. The zippering and things like that don’t bother me. It’s your channel, so you do you 😊. Looking forward to the next one 😁
Great first video!!! You did a wonderful job! Looking forward to your future videos. Cross stitching is so relaxing and people are so nice in this community!!!!
Thank you so much!!! They really are! I love filming and being apart of the community! Everyone is so kind and supportive! Cross stitching is my go-to de-stressor!
She definitely has lovely projects! There are many more I would love to stitch after watching her videos! But full coverage will always be one of my go-to's!
Awe thank you so much!! I plan on making a cross stitch instagram, hopefully with the same name, so eventually if you want to follow me on there, I would love to keep in touch with my fellow Ontario stitchers!
This was a very nice first Flosstube! You seemed to have it well-organized, and I appreciate the more casual, laid-back style. I look forward to seeing you next time! All the best to you!
Thank you so much! You are too kind! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment! I'm hoping to post my next video soon! Happy stitching! :D
Hello! I just found your channel and enjoyed seeing all of your projects! You’re a natural in front of the camera ! Great 1st video, and I look forward to seeing your project updates 😊
Loved your outro, McKenzie! That was the cutest thing.😊🦉 You were a joy to watch and your projects are so bright and beautiful. Its really special to learn what Flosstube has meant to you and how you inherited your grandma's DMC's, and all the inspiration and projects that have followed. The project for your friend's baby is such a lovely idea. Happy stitching to you and I look forward to the next video!
Hi Joanne! What a lovely and thoughtful comment. Thank you so much!! I thought the outro was a fun little play on words ;) I'm glad it was noticed! I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and write me this lovely comment!
Welcome to Flosstube! Your first video was great! I love your projects - especially the parrot and the Bella Filipina - they're gorgeous!❤ I love your idea for turning key chains into needle minders! I've done the same with metal buttons. 😊 My daughter and I have been trying to do a temperature dragon; we're so far behind. 😂 We have a Flosstube channel too if you're interested. Happy stitching! 😊
Thank you!! I'm thinking I will make a cross stitch instagram - hopefully with the same name so feel free to find me on there eventually! I would love to keep in touch with my fellow Ontario stitchers!
A great first video, well done! I'm impressed with your WIPS, they are very ambitious for someone who hasn't been stitching for too long. Good on you. Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Greetings from Ireland, McKenzie. Congrats on a great first flosstube video. I also got a lot of inspiration, two years ago when I started cross stitching, from TeresaLittleStitcher. Looking forward to #2 💚
Hi! Your lines are from the quirks of the parking method, not your tension as far as I know. I don't do that style but there are many tips on Reddit and such. Your switch to the diagonal version is why you aren't having lines on the other full coverage. Nice WIPS and no need to apologize for zippers, dogs etc.!
Hi! Ooooh good to know! I wondered that considering I wasn't having the issue any more when I changed my method, but continued with my normal tension... Thank you so much for your comment! :D
Hello I loved your first flosstube. I also like to stitch large projects. I also kitted up storykeep tiki hut. I made a very minimal start on it. I’ll be looking forward to your next video. God bless you
Great first floss tube! I am an avid knitter and i recently got back into cross stitching after I came across Teresa’s floss tubes. She definitely enabled me. Purchased two full coverage pieces that I kitted up and I’m about to start. I just finished an Indian peacock, A French bulldog piece and almost done with my third piece, which is a Christmas one and then I will start my first full coverage. I very much enjoyed the floss tube. Looking forward to seeing more. Your work is beautiful, great choices, and patterns.
Thank you! That is so kind of you! I also knit... I am working on a chunky blanket and a cotton sweater! Your finished pieces sound amazing! I hope you enjoy your full coverage! They are so much fun to stitch! :D
Welcome!!! A truly lovely video!! Loved all of your wips. I, too love Teresa LS. I love doing full coverage and have, in the works, the same blackwork wip. SaLs are hard for me too- life gets in the way. I must have 4 started from 2020. I look forward to your next one.
Thank you so much!! :D You are so sweet! Teresa is definitely my biggest enabler - I love all of her projects and watching her videos! Ooh! How far along are you on your PP SAL? This was my first blackwork piece and I'm still learning as I go. SALs really are a challenge to keep up with when life gets so busy - but I love them too much, haha! Will probably want to pick up another one soon...
Welcome to Flosstube! Love another full coverage stitcher! You'll find your groove, so don't worry about messing up or anything! Look forward to seeing more!
Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I definitely think I'll find my own groove once I post a few more videos! I've watched some of your videos too (on my personal YT account) and I absolutely love your pieces! Thank you again for leaving such a lovely comment! :)
Welcome! Beautiful projects! Please don’t listen to anyone critiquing you on sounds. Be you and don’t let it make you self-conscious. People can be ridiculous.
Thank you so much ! Yes - I will absolutely always be me! I know that there will always be someone who doesn't like something - but I definitely won't let it get me down! :D
Enjoyed the visit! Love Teresa Little stitcher , if you want to start full coverage she is really helpful. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks , Kim ☀️
Great first flosstube! I have the same story keep pattern by Aimee Stewart but haven’t started it yet, you make me want to kit it up and start! Lol Loved all your projects!
Beautiful work. The frames look amazing for working on. Be careful of the teeth sucking, many flosstube people do it and it is killer when using earbuds. Looking forward to seeing more of you pop into my feed. I love Pattern Keeper, wish it would show the backstitch on my device.
Thank you so much! And thanks for the tip... I've noticed I do that! I will do my best not to, however it's a bit subconscious unfortunately - I noticed it while editing, haha. Yes, pattern keeper is amazing - don't know how I would ever do full coverage without it. And I agree, it would be great if it also showed backstitch, as I will have to use Goodnotes and the highlighter feature for Magwayen. I use Goodnotes for her anyways, but in the future a backstitch option would be fabulous on PK!
Good on you for starting your flosstube! I found your pattern choices very refreshing. The google doc was interesting. Thx for the tip re the Pattern Maker App, unfortunately it is only for android devices and I have an ipad, but a good idea to share. I am looking to your future episodes.
Thank you so much for your comment! I will continue to update the google doc as I start new projects and finish current ones :) Yes... I know PK is trying to make an iOS version that will be compatible with apple devices but I know many people use Markup r-XP or Goodnotes for ipad. I am actually using Goodnotes for Magwayen as I initially couldn't upload the PDF into PK - however they do have that feature now :)
Love the video!! I’m not 100% sure but based off what i’ve seen from the other full coverage stitchers i watch, those grid lines you have in your freebie can be washed away when you’re all done with your piece, as long as you don’t use any over dyed or fancy flosses!
Omg! That would be great! I really hope that's the case because I've been a bit unmotivated to work on it recently because of those lines... It was stitched with DMC on 25 count, 2 over 1 so fingers crossed they wash out! I didn't know if it was because of my method, tension, or the type of frame I used (not holding the fabric taught enough), however changing my method to diagonal stitching (while snaking each line) on my Tiki Beach Sunset project seems to have solved the problem! I plan on doing a stitch-with-me to show my method of this! Thank you so much for your comment! You've just given me some motivation to pull it out again! :D
Really lovely first video! You really are a natural 😊 I’m a new starter too, and know how much there is to learn doing it the first time! Lovely projects … I’d love to hear more about your channel name … it’s very cute! 👏🏼💖
Thank you so much! You are too kind! There is so much to learn! Especially when it comes to using new threads and higher count fabric (stitching over 2) and beading... I could go on, haha! And I will explain why I chose my channel name in my next video! Thank you again so much for your lovely comment! :)
@@thenightowlstitcher oh yes! but I also mean so much to learn doing a first video for flosstube! Showing things to the camera and getting the angles & glare right I found really hard lol. I’ve only done one video as yet, but I’m looking forward to doing more. Looking forward to more of yours too! 👏🏼☺️
100 percent! It can definitely be a bit daunting! I had to do a couple test videos to see what everything looked like, which took a bit of time but I actually found it quite fun to do! I've just added your video to my playlist! I'm so looking forward to watching!
Welcome to flosstube! I love connecting with other flosstubers, especially other new ones 😅 I'm kind of in shock of how many similarities our journeys share! I also started during lockdown, but I didn't learn from family or inherit anything. I also used Teresa little stitcher to learn about full coverage and *almost* stitched the same HAED freebie you did 😅 Your patterns are beautiful and you did a great job on your first video. I'm excited for you next one 😊
Thank you! Wow! Our journeys do sound very similar! I just checked out your flosstube and I believe a welcome to you is in order as well! So welcome to flosstube, haha! I will definitely have to check out your videos! I'd love to see what you've ended up stitching. Thank you again for your comment! I'm excited to follow along with your stitching journey as well! :D
Thank you so much! I have a google doc that is linked in the description which mentions all of my projects, the fabrics they are on with the count and what threads I used! :D
Congrats on making your first flosstube video! I've been debating making videos again. I've been a bit embarrassed about how long it has been since I last uploaded! Does that make any sense? LOL Just try to remember that you can't please everyone. People will complain about everything! Just say up front: sorry for the zippers, but I need to keep things tidy; filming is chaotic enough. Done!
Thank you so much for your comment! You are so right! And I think you should absolutely upload again! Like you said, be upfront - say: "Sorry it's been so long, life got in the way!" We would all understand and support your channel! I've already subscribed ;) I would love to see your projects! No matter how long it was since your last video! You should definitely go for it - I can't wait to watch if you decide to go for it :)
Loved your first flosstube! You have some lovely projects. I am curious as to how you stitch on your scroll frames ... do you put them on a stand? Thanks.
Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, I have a frame but it is a small frame... not sure if you call it a lap stand however it works when using it on a desk or on the couch as it sits on either side of you. I will show it in another view! Maybe my next one!
great first video, so happy seeing more progress on your projects. do you stitch your fullcoverage pieces on 25 or 28 ct fabric? hugs from Switzerland 🇨🇭 😊
Hi there! Thank you so much! I stitch my full coverage on 25ct white lugana. I have attached a google doc to the description which has all of the info in my projects which I will continuously update, so you can always take a look there to get more info as well! :D
They are called Bob-Eez bobbins and you can find them on Amazon! There are great for preventing knots in your floss and keeping everything neat and tidy!
Absolutely! It was Meloca Designs. The pattern is called Mandala Squirrel. Here is the link: melocadesigns.com/products/mandala-squirrel-cross-stitch-pattern
Great for video. Saw that you use Pattern Keeper. What OS do you have it downloaded on. Did you have any issues downloading the app onto your system? Thank you in advance
Thank you! I do use PK. I will look into what OS it is for you. I did have to do a little rejigging of the software I think... so I will look into it and answer that in my next video which I hope to post soon!
Wow! You dove right into full coverage projects!! To me they are easier than scattered motifs! Beautiful work!!❤
Thank you so much!! Yes! Less counting! And I just love the idea of full coverage and the gorgeous images you can create!
Great first video and you have some beautiful projects going. To fix column lines - flip your work over - you will be able to see the bare areas that form the line on the back of your work. Great flosstube start. Will be starting my own soon. It's not easy to organize. Looking forward to seeing more of you. Love your projects.
Thank you so much! You definitely should! I will subscribe to you and keep my eye out for your first video! I can't wait to watch! :D
Great first flosstube! You were amazing! We’re all friends here!
Thank you!! That is so sweet of you :D
Enjoyed your first video. You did a great job.
Thank you so much! :)
Enjoyed the visit! Love Teresa Little stitcher , if you want to start full coverage she is really helpful.
Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks , Kim ☀️
Thank you, Kim!! She really is! I appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and comment!
🥂🍾 Congratulations on making your first Flosstube! Happy Stitching 🧵😝
Thank you! I really appreciate it! So happy to be apart of the community! :D Happy stitching to you too!
Welcome to flosstube. Beautiful projects.
Thank you so much! :)
Welcome to Flosstube! Lovely stitches.
Thank you so much ! :)
Great first flosstube! I have the same story keep pattern by Aimee Stewart but haven’t started it yet, you make me want to kit it up and start! Lol Loved all your projects!
Thank you so much! You should definitely kit it up!! It is such a fun project to work on! There are so many gorgeous colours in that chart! :)
@@thenightowlstitcher I’m very tempted to, I just might do that. Lol. I have a ton of WIPS already but I might cave! 😂
Welcome to Flosstube! Your WIPs look great!
Thank you so much! That is so kind of you! :D
Fabulous! 👏
Thank you!! :)
@@thenightowlstitcher. I just bought the Markup app you suggested. Thx I am excited to try it out!
Yay! I'm so happy to hear that! I hope it works out for you! I know many stitchers love it, although I haven't tried it myself!
You are making great progress on your very large and ambitious projects! Bravo on your first video!
Thank you so much!!
Good Job! You were great
Thank you!! You are very kind :)
Welcome to flosstube! I love connecting with other flosstubers, especially other new ones 😅 I'm kind of in shock of how many similarities our journeys share! I also started during lockdown, but I didn't learn from family or inherit anything. I also used Teresa little stitcher to learn about full coverage and *almost* stitched the same HAED freebie you did 😅
Your patterns are beautiful and you did a great job on your first video.
Just found you! Loved your stitching!
Awe, thank you so much! :D
Great job
Thanks so much! :)
💜
Your stitches are great. New subscriber to your channel. 🙂
Thank you so much! I appreciate you!! :D
Great first video. I would love to know your fabric count. Can’t wait to see what’s next!🦉
LOL
Just try to remember that you can't please everyone.

@@owlbestitching8839 love your handle!!! ❤️🦉

Tell us a little bit more about yourself as well!
I think I will in my second video! :) Thank you!
great first video, so happy seeing more progress on your projects. do you stitch your fullcoverage pieces on 25 or 28 ct fabric? hugs from Switzerland 🇨🇭 😊
Hi there! Thank you so much! I stitch my full coverage on 25ct white lugana. I have attached a google doc to the description which has all of the info in my projects which I will continuously update, so you can always take a look there to get more info as well! :D
Welcome to floss tube! What are the things called that you have your floss wrapped around?
They are called Bob-Eez bobbins and you can find them on Amazon! There are great for preventing knots in your floss and keeping everything neat and tidy!
@@thenightowlstitcher thanks so much, really looking forward to watching your show evolve.
Great first flosstube...it's obvious you love stitching. Keep going!
Thank you very much! I really do! It is something I look forward to doing whenever I can! :D
Can you please tell me the name of the squirrel designer? I would love to purchase that pattern. It was the Sal. Thank you
Absolutely! It was Meloca Designs. The pattern is called Mandala Squirrel. Here is the link: melocadesigns.com/products/mandala-squirrel-cross-stitch-pattern
@@thenightowlstitcherthank you❤
My pleasure! :D
Cutest cross stitcher I know
Thank you!!
