Really enjoyed the visit and getting to meet your Mom Andrew!! Congratulations on reaching 2,000 subscribers and hope you and your mother had an amazing time during the race...bye for now 🥰
Thank you for the video. It is always fantastic to meet the one that started you on cross stitch. My mom wanted one of her kids to work bobbin lace, and I was the most likely. I learned fast and taught it for 30 years and made all kinds of bobbins and designed patterns for students. Now I get to work cross-stitch because I am losing some eye sight, and cross stitch is now so fine. You crochet doily was lovely, and you had your mom turn it backward. That happens a lot to my bobbin lace if people don't work the lace. I always love to see the crafts that I have done, and it was lovely.
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed this video and Congratulations on winning the pattern :). Oh that's awesome that you taught and designed patterns for so long! Oh no, I didn't realize she had it right he first time ha. Guess I still don't know a lot about lace yet. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
That was so fun to have your Mum on a video and hear about her stitching as well as your early stitching journey; I so loved the photos ❤ Its such a wonderful thing to see the matching jumpers coming full circle with your Mum having stitched the bear jumpers and now you stitching the Disney jumpers 😄 I can't remember exactly when you are going but hope you have a great time and good luck with the running too! It was fab to see your 2 new starts and I hope 2024 is an awesome year for you, both for stitching and life in general ❤
You are so sweet! Thank you for saying all of that. We had a great time filming this one and it was cool to see the sweatshirts come full circle! I'm glad you enjoyed this one :)
Great video, Andrew. I love your enthusiasm. Lovely you had your mom join you. Cant wait to see your progress with Woodland Enchantress. She is beautiful! Looking forward to your next floss tube.
Thank you very much!! We had a great time filming it. I am enjoying Woodland Enchantress and all the different instructions that come along with it lol!
Such a sweet video with you and your Mom. Loved hearing how you both started cross stitching. Yes, the doile your grandmother made is crochet. My Mom did several pieces. No roses...just all white, and she would starch them so they would lay flat. You and your Mom have the same beautiful smiles. Love Caitlin and Johnnie....good luck with your races. Can't wait to see the pics!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this one. We had fun making it! I'm just so impressed that crochet can be that tiny! I'll tell my mom she was right haha. Thanks for your support!
Loved the video. Your mom was a natural and her piece was beautiful. My mom also taught me to stitch when I was little and I treasure this connection. She likes the stamped pieces and has also made quilts. Hope she can join you again.
Your mom is so sweet! Thanks food including her to us. It was nice to see where your stitching journey began. That demensions kit is going to be absolutely beautiful! I love Cross Stitch Cait also. I’ve never missed one of her flosstubes. Some of my other favorites are Marjorie Made and my friend Alicia from The Fanciful Flamingo.
Thank you I'm glad you enjoyed her being on this time! I love Marjorie Made as well. I will have to check out Alicia, thank you for the recommendation!
Oh my Goodness! I am in Lancaster Co and go to Good's Store all the time for cross stitch DMC thread and my hoops and fabrics. It is Mennonite run. What a small world. Thank you for sharing Andrew & Mom 😊
You and your mom are so stinkin’ cute with your matching sweat shirts back in the day and now. It is very special that you did for her what she did for you. Good luck on your races, can’t wait to hear about them.
So cute meeting your mom! Ok, about ironing. First, get yourself some "Mary Ellen's Best Press" and thank me later. Its a "starch alternative" with no residue and it works so well. The trick to good ironing is often in the ironing board- fatten yours up with some thick towels or extra cotton batting or foam under the cover. The thicker the better. Good luck!
Hi Sue,and Andrew , your Grandmother Dollie is beautiful. It's so beautiful to see you and your mom talk about stitching .Enjoy Disney, love the shirts.
Thank you. I hope WIPGO goes well for you. I attempted that in 2024, but was a bit of a failure😢. Trying something new in 2025. Great to have your Mom on, and see your matching sweatshirts. 💛. H
Dear Andrew, I hope this message finds you surrounded by colorful threads and a cup of tea, indulging in your favorite stitching adventure! As I sit here, I couldn't help but think of you and the joy you bring to every stitch you create. Your talents and dedication to this craft are truly inspiring, and it warms my heart to know that you find solace and happiness in your favorite activity. Sending you love and warm thoughts, Keir
Hi Keir! Thank you so much, that is very kind. I really do enjoy the art of cross stitch and am happy to share what I'm working on. Happy stitching to you as well!
It was so fun meeting your mom! I can tell that you have a sweet relationship with her. Have fun that you have come full circle by doing the sweatshirts. I was just in Lancaster County a few weeks ago, and Goods store is still there. There are 3 stores that I know of.
We do have a great relationship and I"m glad you enjoyed her being on this time. It was fun to see this is the 2nd time we had matching sweatshirts ha. I'll tell my mom that Goods store is still there! She will be happy to know that :)
My grandma also did the same kind of lace tatting/crocheting. I found out, just a couple of years ago, that when my parents got an engaged (and they were in college and it was a long engagement), my grandma (dad's mom) started saving/putting away her pocket money, leftover from the pension she collected, and used it to buy the thread to create a trousseau of sorts. My mom recently passed the bin of items on to me to claim what I wanted before passing the rest to my brother, as he and his wife named their youngest after that grandmother.
Oh that is awesome! I'm glad you got to keep some of the pieces she made too. It's such a cool thing and I wish I could have talked with my grandma more about it!
@@therunnerstitcher Me too! She died when I was 5 months old of breast cancer. My brother is younger, so he never got to "meet" her. I'm told I'm a lot like her, but disappointed I never got to know her!
Happy New Year to you, Andrew and Mom! I love how you do all types of cross stitch, counted and stamped. I’m excited where you take this. 🌺🌸🌺🇮🇪☘️🇺🇸🍎❤️🪡🧵😊
Lucky mom! There’s a great youtube video by the lady with R&R Fabrics demonstrating how to iron fabric. I got a Shark iron for $25 at Walmart. It has lots of steam holes. Hope this helps.
Happy New Year! This was a fun video; it was fun to hear your mom's stitching journey and the FFO of the quilt block. Best wishes for successful races! 🪡👠
So wonderful to share that history with your mom. My mom stopped stitching after my sister was born but she’s picking it back up now that I’m super into it. I’ve wanted to get that Woodland Enchantress kit but THAT many strands on 18ct? Ooooof
It is really fun to share this love with my mom :). That's great your mom is getting back into it too! Woodland is tough with so many strands on 18ct but it is only half stitches :). I think it'll totally be worth it!
Love seeing you and your mom. How cute! And those photos?! So adorable. Glad she liked the sweatshirt. Good luck with WIPGO this year. Have a great week!
You and your mom were so sweet. I stitched a teddy bear riding a tricycle on a sweatshirt for my youngest son in the mid 1990’s. He wore that all the time. When he outgrew it we passes it on to my brother’s daughter and son who loved it as well. Good luck with your races.
Hello Andrew and mom. What no Winston? The sweatshirts turned out great. Mom's framed tulip block is beautiful. Love those colors. I am a big fan of cross stitch bears, too. So, to get the wrinkles out of your aida fabric, you should use a Talon Press Cloth (check with JoAnn Fabrics). Lightly spray with water on the back of your piece. Make sure your cross stitches face down and then put the press cloth on the back of your design. Lightly press with a warm to medium iron setting. Press over the cloth and to not slide the iron back and forth. Hope this makes sense. If not, check with your mom. Almost forgot but I like your new starts. Good luck with your running in the new year.
No Winston this time ha. He's here in Florida but was napping on my dad's lap while we filmed! I also love her cross stitch piece and told her I want it eventually :). That's a great idea! I will look for the Talon Press Cloth and try that. Do you spray the actual aida with water or spray the Talon Press cloth? Thanks for the recommendations!
Love your video. I always get excited when I see you have a new video up. Your progress on your projects looks amazing. I think it’s great that you brought your mom on. What a lovely lady, you look a lot like her, especially your smile. Glad to hear you are enjoying your visit. Good luck on your race, can’t wait to see the metals that you win. I hope you and your family have a Happy and Healthy New Year🎉❤ Pauline
Hi Pauline! Thank you so much. I'm glad you are enjoying seeing my journey so far! Yes, a lot of people tell me I look like my mom :). Stay tuned for the next video, I'll be sure to share my medals. Happy New Year to you as well!
What a pleasure to meet your Mom and hear her cross stitch journey. Andrew your stitching is beautiful and oh my gosh, your back looks incredible. Keep up the good work. Good luck to you and your mom on the Disney run!!
Aww best video! Such a special guest. So happy to hear you love stitching on linen, I’m intimidated to try but just have to do it! Good luck with your races 🥇
Such an enjoyable video, thank you for it! A pleasure to see your mom and hear your family crafting stories, and see the old photo! Congratulations on your finished pieces, but most of all congratulations on that Greek Mythology piece, it is wonderful, your stitches look amazing both front and back, I even replayed that part just to see it again. Looking forward to see your Woodland Enchantress and then your Mira. Can we also join your sal if we choose a Nora fairy? Have a great 2024, good luck with all your projects and wishes!
Oh thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed this video! I really do love the Odyssey SAL and I think that shows in the stitching. It's such a fun piece! You can definitely join with a Nora piece (I say that counts ha)! Would love to see what fairy you choose and stitch on the 8th. Happy New Year!
Hello from Tennessee! I enjoyed stitching with you today. 😊. It was fun meeting your momand seeing your matching sweatshirts. My mom and sister and I did a few in the 90's with puff paints. Remember that stuff? 😂. I just found Johnnie Saxon too....super chatty and fun. Good luck on your race! 😉
Thank you for spending your time with us! We were just talking about puff paints as we went through old photos! I'm pretty sure I had a sweatshirt with puff paints (bear of course). Thanks and Happy Stitching!
I'm sure you know already, but the little figure you got in the Japan box is a Daruma (wishing) doll. You draw on one eye when you make a wish, and you draw on the 2nd eye when your wish comes true!
Loved seeing your completed sweatshirts and meeting your mom! Thank you for another enjoyable video, you are such a natural, like you’ve been doing YT for years.
Aww thank you so much for the kind words! I still feel like I'm learning how to do it and get nervous, but it's fun. Glad you enjoyed the video with my mom, we had a great time making it!
What fun to meet your mother and see her delight at the sweatshirt you stitched for her! Such a sweet video. Once again, your stitching is beautiful and the back of your project looks so neat! I admire you for starting to stitch on linen. Thank you for sharing!
I'm so happy you enjoyed this video! It was a fun one to make and I'm glad she agreed to be on ha. Linen was so much fun and better than I expected! Happy stitching!
That's the kid of stamped cross stitch kits my dad taught me how to do cross stitch the stamped cross stitch ones not the counted cross stitch don't have patience for the counted ones love the stamped o es on linen cotton
It was great to see your Mom in your Video and telling her story about how she got started in stitching. Wow - It is so interesting to hear stories like your Mom’s and about her Mom. I love stories like this. Your stitching is beautiful. Love your WIPS. Happy New Year to you and your Mom Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️
Lovely video. If you haven't tried yet try a garment steamer to try to get the wrinkles out instead of an iron or before you iron. Have a happy new year!
Your mom is adorable. I loved listening to the story of her cross stitching journey. I have Woodland Enchantress too, but I haven't started her yet. So happy you started on Fruits of Plenty. It looks so good. Great video.❤❤❤
Happy New Year. Great stitching the back of your work neat congratulations. Look forward to seeing your progress on the MFE piece the greens are beautiful. I prefer linen to Aida fabric. Happy stitching
Thank you so much. I think I actually prefer linen as well, but this is still my first piece :). I also am happy with the green colors! Happy stitching and Happy New Year!
Happy New Year. Lovely to meet your mom. Woodland Enchantress is a complicated stitch. I am stitching her and just finished the gold work, now I have to bead and do French knots. I wish you much luck with it.
Happy New Year! I agree, it's definitely more involved than I originally thought, but it's a fun challenge. I would love to see yours so far, it sounds like you don't have too much more to do!
Your mom is awesome! I can’t believe how perfect the back of your oddessy sal looks! Too perfect. And now I wish I’d signed up for the caterpillar enchanted sal that just started but I I’d already be behind. Your wonderland is so beautiful.
Thank you so much!! I was so glad my mom agreed to do this flosstube ha. I feel the same about the enchanted sal. I bet it's going to be great, but I just didn't think I had the room for it. Maybe we will just pick it up later lol
Just stopping in to catch up. I hope things went well on your runs. I have just started my first Mira. Shes called Stargazer. I'll post some progress on insta and use the hashing and tag you as well!
I’ve gotten back into cross stitch after taking a few years off. I love watching your project progress! I never knew about stitching on clothing, excited to try that next!
Welcome back to cross stitching! Glad you're getting back into it again. I'm happy you enjoyed the projects I've been working on. Let me know if you try stitching on clothing, I hope you enjoy it!!
Great video! Your mom seems like such a nice lady and it’s great you can share your hobby with her! You both looked so nice in your Disney shirts. Good luck in your races and Happy New Year to you and your mom and dad.
Haha, Oh I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It was fun to have her join me :). In the description of the video there is a link to the water soluble canvas that I used and the pattern I bought on Ebay!
The only place I was able to find the Disney pattern was on Ebay. The last time I checked there were still a few there if you search "Mickey and the Gang cross stitch". Other than that, I haven't found a place to buy the Disney pattern like that one. Hope that helps!
Hello can you please tell me what you put on your sweatshirts that you stitched the Disney Characters on I would like to do a cross stitch on a tee shirt. Good luck on your Run,I am not a runner but I did belong to the swim and diving team when I was in high school! Now I’m 66 year old women who is disabled due to PAH but I still get in the water with my long canula that I get my oxygen and still get my exercise and water workouts in the water🏊♀️🤽🏻♀️
Hi! I use a water soluble canvas that I bought on amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TBF5Q22/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&_encoding=UTF8&tag=therunnerstit-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=40ff14f2b6f504baa300339763aa06c7&camp=1789&creative=9325. Thank you so much! They were time consuming, but a lot of fun to make!

Thank you. I love that you got to keep the sweatshirt going for two generations! That's great. It is such a special gift.
What a rich legacy of family stitching you have! Loved seeing the old photos with your Mom!
Some of it I wasn't even aware of! It is always great to go through old photos :)

When this video started and I saw your mom sitting there, a huge smile popped onto my face! What a wonderful video.
Aww thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the video with her :)
Hello ! Hi Sue, nice meeting you, Happy New Year 🎉
Happy New Year to you as well!
@@therunnerstitcher I ordered Dewdrops in November and it should arrive one of these days, so it would be great to start it with you. Thank you!
That would be awesome!
Oh cool! I actually did not know that! Thank you so much for telling me :). It's my time to make a wish I guess!
Your mom is so sweet!! So fun to hear your family history of stitching!
She really is, I agree :). Glad you enjoyed this one!
Your mom was so adorable. Great job on the sweatshirts. Great projects and love your videos.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and my special guest!
You spray the water on the backside of the aida and then cover it with the press cloth.
Thank you for the tip. I will be sure to try that!
Your mom is precious and you can see how much she loves you! 💜
So true! I'm glad you enjoyed her on the video!

It was great to see your Mom in your Video and telling her story about how she got started in stitching. Wow - It is so interesting to hear stories like your Mom’s and about her Mom. I love stories like this.
Your stitching is beautiful. Love your WIPS.
Happy New Year to you and your Mom
Happy Stitching
❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵❤️
Thank you so much! I'm glad she got to share her story and even I didn't know all of it :). Happy New Year to you as well!
I just love how proud your mom is of you! It made me smile!
Aww! I am very lucky and I'm so happy she liked the sweatshirt!
Lovely video. If you haven't tried yet try a garment steamer to try to get the wrinkles out instead of an iron or before you iron. Have a happy new year!
Thank you! Oh that's a great idea! We have one back in NY so I will have to try that when I'm back. Thank you for the tip and Happy New year!
Your mom is adorable. I loved listening to the story of her cross stitching journey. I have Woodland Enchantress too, but I haven't started her yet. So happy you started on Fruits of Plenty. It looks so good. Great video.❤❤❤
Thank you!! It was fun to hear her story because I didn't even know all of it :).
Happy New Year 🎊🎆
Happy New Year to you as well!
@@therunnerstitcher I posted on Instagram. I started following you there.
I put a pic on insta
It is always such a pleasure to see you pop up on RUclips! It is very nice to meet your mom, too! Blessings to you and yours in this New Year!
Thank you very much. I'm glad you are enjoying the videos. I'm having a blast sharing with you and was happy to have my mom join for this one!
Congrats on your first Mira! I'd love to have you join in on the SAL. Definitely tag me so I can see your progress :). Happy stitching!

Happy New Year to you as well! I'm glad you enjoyed me bringing her on this time :)
Great video! Your mom seems like such a nice lady and it’s great you can share your hobby with her! You both looked so nice in your Disney shirts. Good luck in your races and Happy New Year to you and your mom and dad.
Thank you so much! She is great (if I say so myself) ha. Thank you so much and Happy New Year to you as well!
I smiled so hard my face hurt. You and your Mom are so darling. Where did you get the stuff to stitch Mickey on the shirts?
Haha, Oh I'm glad you enjoyed this one. It was fun to have her join me :). In the description of the video there is a link to the water soluble canvas that I used and the pattern I bought on Ebay!
thank you my boy wants me to stitch Pokémon on his shirts.
That would be very cool. I loved the one my mom made as a kid :)
My sister (@sassystacinoelle) stitched the woodland enchantress and it is so pretty. The sweatshirts turned out great!
Oh awesome! I bet she has a lovely finish on her! I can't wait to get more into stitching her dress :). Thank you so much!
Love seeing your progress and having your Mom there was amazing! Happy New Year!
Thank you so much and Happy New Year to you as well!
I’m learning so much from you! Can we buy the Disney patterns somewhere?
The only place I was able to find the Disney pattern was on Ebay. The last time I checked there were still a few there if you search "Mickey and the Gang cross stitch". Other than that, I haven't found a place to buy the Disney pattern like that one. Hope that helps!
Hey Andrew! Where in FL? I’m on west coast, in Englewood. Kevin
Hi Kevin! My parents live on the East Coast near Palm Coast.
Have you ever heard of Hobine, your stitching could pass for it . Holbine, is the same on both sides. There is no back side.
I haven't heard of that before, but will definitely look into it! That sounds challenging! ha. Thanks for watching!
