    Rosanna! What a wonderful first Flosstube! I loved seeing your finishes, wips and haul. LNS''s are all truly magical, and each one has it's own personality and charm. I try to visit different ones on our travels and it's so fun to see all the different designers' patterns and new patterns (to me) from familiar designers. Have fun on your cross stitch journey and I hope you become as addicted as the rest of us! I'm looking forward to seeing Flosstube #2. Take care.

    Hello Rosanna! 🤗 Amazing finishes and WIPs! ♥️ You didn’t wade in cautiously…you dove in head first…and what a success! 👍 I love those vintage magazines! There are several designs that are beyond beautiful! The Santas of Fables & Fantasy is at the top of my list and seeing yours gives me the itch to start it! 🤭 I’ve subbed and am now going to binge and catch up on your progress! Welcome to FlossTube, Rosanna! I can't believe your choice ("Celtic Christmas") for your first project. Congratulations on finishing it - and all of us veteran cross stitchers were probably laughing out loud (in a loving way) when you were lamenting that it took you so long to finish it. Some of us (including myself) have been working on some WIPs for months if not years. One of mine ("Kimono Row") is in its 25th year with my hope to finishing it next year! I dream of finding treasure like you did at a thrift store. I stumbled on a horde of rare Mirabilia patterns last summer at a thrift store last year, and still shake my head at the bounty, and quietly send my thanks to whoever parted with them so I can one day make them come to life on fabric. Take care, and please keep making videos and tell us your story. Happy holidays.

    Rosanna, in watching your first flosstube I'm compelled to comment. I was a cross stitcher some 30 years ago and gave it up due to all life stuff getting in the way, AND it didn't have flosstube around or the beautiful neat patterns and more things to do with your finished projects besides just framming like it does today. In any event I was on the hunt for some patterns to match my newly painted dining area in our kitchen and came across 2 of Madame La Fee's patterns. I bought them both and ALL the floss she uses and the fabric which you know is not a cheap endeavor (her patterns are rather pricey). Soon I experienced the exact same issues you have. I worked on the first one monogamously until I just couldn't stand it any longer. The confetti in each area was just too much and I just wasnt enjoying it, not to mention the frogging I had to do. There were area i ripped out numerous times. I have since abandoned both patterns. Who knows if I will ever pick them up again; but I'm okay with that. An expensive lessons. The work you have done on the projects you have shown in your flosstube is just outstanding. Keep stitching and find joy in all that you stitch. It is supposed to be a labor of love, not a chore; it's a hobby. Happy holidays, Pat Tackaberry.

    It’s nice to “meet” you. Don’t feel bad about your magazine collection. I had all those magazines at one point (I subscribed for so many years) but have recently (past year or so) bid on several issues I wanted because I threw away an entire stack (at least 2 feet tall when stacked) about 20 years ago. There were some really cute charts in them and a few nice articles to read, too. Enjoy them.

    Awesome job on your first piece. As for the Aida, soak it in medium warm to hot water to get the stiffness out. The fabric will become soft and easier to use.

    Very nice, you have chosen some ambitious patterns. You might try doing a small or two in-between a large. Looking forward to your next flosstube. 😊

    You go girl!!
    Congratulations on a terrific first episode. You have some amazing work. I agree the snow globe needs a different background to let your stitching shine. Remember to just enjoy your work and the only person you need to please is yourself. Love the charts you shared. Looking forward to episode 2.

      Thank you so much for watching! I will definitely be starting over on the snow globe. I already frogged out the original start and will be picking a different fabric. The good news is I can use the pale linen for another project! Happy stitching!

    That is amazing --- a difficult project and on BLACK! WOW! I, too, didn't get all my crosses evenly done on my first project, and I am a total English language/literature geek! I love a good poem. Have you seen Blue Flower's Tyger, Tyger piece? I did that one. I also am working on a Madame La Fee piece. Are you on Instagram? Great job on your first Flosstube and all of your beautiful work!

    Wow! I’m amazed at your first project. It’s gorgeous and the frame is perfect. It would take me 3 years! Do you follow Stitching Fae Flosstube? She stitches a wonderful variety of things including many of the fancy ladies like your Celtic Christmas and Halloween witch. You’ve done a fabulous job with your first Flosstube.😍

    Nice job on your first Flosstube! And INCREDIBLE job on your first cross stitch! The only one who can see the mistakes is you! The only thing to remember about stitching is to STITCH WHAT YOU LOVE. It doesn't matter if it's an alpaca or a flower, as love as you are enjoying it, enjoy. There is a whole wide world of colored string out there! Such joy, and there are no rules, and no cross stitch police. Change colors, change fabrics, change your your mind. It doesn't matter, you are in charge! I love your red-haired ladies! Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

    Boy, you were really ambitious with your first projects and they came out great (you're a natural)!! Definitely use those silk flosses to do that kit. I'm only finishing up Year 2 as a CSer (so also still a newbie) and I've yet to use all the floss from any project I've kitted up --- albeit, I've worked on a lot of smaller projects than you have, LOL! Even so, I'm sure if you use the floss for that kit, you will ALSO still have some left over to put in another project(s). Enjoy the journey (of stitching AND Flosstubing)!!

    • @brightanddusty
      @brightanddusty  10 месяцев назад +1

      I am excited to work with the silk floss. I have never used it before!

    • @vivianburrus8085
      @vivianburrus8085 10 месяцев назад

      @@brightanddusty My first project was a small silk floss kit. Those threads feel sooo yummy as you needle them! However they are also more slippery than cotton floss and I too did not know back then that you were supposed to stitch in only one direction so the work is a little "knotty" looking in spots! I've finished enough pieces since that I know I will go back to it and should be able to finish it up this time around --- hopefully for the New Year as it's a Valentine's piece and I'd like to display it for the holiday in February.🙂

    You did really well on your first flosstube. I love your finishes! I also started out with some really ambitious projects when I started, with over 100 colors. Who knew it was going to be such a big deal. Your framing is beautiful. Thank you for taking the time to show us what you have been up to. Can't wait for next video.

    Love your projects and finishes but girl never start with an old pattern! Leisure arts are the very worst! I stitched them in the 80’s it was about all I could get at that time however now, no thank you😊The good news, you can stitch any pattern now since you achieved a beautiful finish with one of those! Have a great Christmas❤

    Great job! For the project with the nutcracker on the stiff fabric, try a smaller needle (bigger number, like 28) if you aren’t already using a 28 if your floss will fit in it.

  • @caroltombari9112

    Amazing that you kept up with that first project! Black fabric is very difficult to see. You did a beautiful job with all projects and I love your choices. On some projects you can just select a section of it. Have fun with all those books. I started cross stitch 40 years ago and have trouble seeing small things now. I blow up directions, use colored pencils and grid the fabric. Have fun! I now use only 14 count aida.
