I honestly think that Ad30 is one of the most underrated amps. It has unlimited variations within it's range and so reactive to the guitar and amps. True chameleon while totally recognisable. With a right guitar and pushing of front end you can play even modern metal. It would be a bit undergained, but perfectly sharp and tidy, whilst oozing that valve grain.

I’m a metalhead through and through but man I love this amp so much. One of my favorite things is the chimey harmonic frequencies at moderate gain levels when you let a chord ring with the master pretty loud. As the chord settles and fades the harmonics shimmer beautifully, not many amps will do that the way this one will. It also really nails late 70s or early 80s metal tones with an overdrive.
I’ve got to be perfectly honest, I’m 3 minutes in and haven’t followed a single word! Too busy reading the hair comments. 😂

I have an AD30. I absolutely love it. The two identical but different voiced channels is so much fun. I run a Keeley Phat Mod and Keeley Katana Clean Boost into mine. Absolutely rips

Why hello Short Haired Colin, having played through both amps at various points in my life, both the AD30 and RV53 are incredible. Personally I’m drawn to the Rockerverb more but the AD30’s “clean" channel might be among the best tones I’ve ever heard.

He asked Colin to take his place in parallel universe because people in parallel universe wanted to have some knowledge regarding guitar, pedals,amps etc..but they were too afraid to ask! So Colin has gone there for few months. He will be back soon!
Huh! I had one of these heads for a bit but I didn't much like it, but admittedly at the time I think I was going for a different sort of tone from it and it sounds great here, particularly with the single coils.

I lined it up with every other type of TS & the Maxon is the original & the best. Meaning it coloured my tone the least!

yeah that is because this video is an ad and your experience is real. orange amps sound loose, flubby and unfocused. if you want that sound, just get a marshall.
@@santrixhimself3679 Marshall's sound like shit tbh unless they are fully cranked, and even then they're super harsh sounding. They cut through a mix well though and thats why so many big bands love them.
It’s the shit Vintage 30’s. My OR50 was tight. My TH30 was too tight. I used a Weber speaker. The Vintage 30 was terrible

You should get your hands on any of Alejandro Silva's handmade amplifiers and review them. They go by the name PS1, PS2, etc. He's a chilean guitar player and amp designer/builder. The guy knows his stuff.
I've never heard one in person, but they sound pretty good in the videos from his YT channel.

Buckcherry have always been Rockerverbs. Kevin has anyway. He did use a AD30 combo in Orson though. Stevie has been a Carol Ann and Marshall guy. Although, he has swapped the Silver Jubilee for a Rockerverb MK3 about a year ago.
I think the main reason that the AD30 and its discontinued bigger sibling the AD140 don't have an FX loop is because they both have post-phase inverter master volumes. In the case of the ADs, if you look at the circuit, you funnily enough see an individual phase inverter tube *for each channel* lol. And if you want to insert effects after a phase inverter, you'd need it to be stereo... and you'd still probably fuck up the phase relationships somehow.
Though thinking about it that probably only goes for the AD140... the AD30 is class A, after all. And as far as I know that means it shouldn't have a PI? I'm probably way off the mark, nvm lol.
