  • I purchase two huge bags of leather scraps and will be creating crafts for my upcoming craft shows and my shop. In this video, I make flowers pins and cut the leather with my Sizzix BigShot. I really like the end result- enjoy!

I made some of these for a craft fair. I die cut them then ran them through my embosser for extra texture and they came out brilliantly. I haven’t played about with colour though so will defo give that a go TFS.

Love these. Thank you for our video and I am torn between the colors that you came out with at the end while I myself love the natural leathers. But to be clear so often natural leathers are pre died and colored too. It's not like they come off the animal red, blue, pink, gold or 7 shades of brown or 8 shades of rust etc. Do like the way you worked it with the colors on the plate and make up sponges. I use make up sponges all the time for pastel chalks and so have a bag or two about. This technique can be applied to earrings and similar layered or single sided leather work too. Not limited to pins. But love how yours came out. I'm not a purple or blue person but these here catch your eye. And love how the stud setting worked out too.

Hi, I like the natural color of leather best too. However, I had fun making these. I love using makeup sponges for paint, chalk, etc! Thanks so much for watching, Julia

There is a lot a black in my bag and I was thinking... Black Roses??
Why Not, but you fixed that one 😁
Thanks for this wonderful information and I.LOVE.YOUR.CONCEPT.

Great video! I have a bunch of these paints and I was wondering if they would work on leather. I have some flower dies, too. Can't wait to give this a try.

Julia, I can't believe it!!! We have come up with the same idea at the same time. I have some leather, vinyl and other materials that I was wondering what to do with them. I love flowers, so I have many Big Shot die cutters in them. One thing I did with mine is put it on a needle pocket I made for my sister. Ill have to send you some pictures of some of the ones I made, if you'll let me know where. I do like your idea of way you put them together I just glued mine.

I have some rhinestone Rivets that I can't quite figure out how to use so haven't done so yet. As I remember they didn't seem to have a nice flat back part to go into on the other side.

Your flowers are beautiful! If before painting, you hit the edges with a lighter, the petal edges will curl and seal like a natural flower! Be careful of the curtains, and your fingers though!

Decorative shoe clips were big in mid 60's ! I had couple pairs of plain color shoes and a gazillion sets of clips. They were also good for pairing with hairbands and chains, as pendants.
