Love seeing you playing MWO again. Out of your three Mechwarrior/Battletech series I think I enjoy this one the most. Have you ever considered making a "Introduction to Mechwarrior: Online" video? I normally hate first person shooters, but your vids have gotten me interested in trying this out. Would love to get a primer on how to get started without completely embarrassing myself.
MWO is honestly a very easy game to pick up, especially if you have ever played MW5. When you first start playing you won't own any mechs and are forced to play the trial mechs, which changes every few patches. The trial mechs give you a chance to try out different playstyles and weight classes, allowing you to figure out how you like to play the game. There is a Testing Grounds, which is a single player area where you can explore the maps and test out your mech's capabilities without the pressure of performing well. When you do eventually join a multi-player match, my best tip is to stick with the team and watch the minimap, as that will tell you when you're out of position and need to move somewhere new. Personally, I would start with clan heavy mechs as they are typically the easiest to do well with, bringing a balance of firepower, armor and cooling. Lasers are especially easy to learn with as they have no projectile travel time, meaning where you point is where you damage over the length of the laser burn duration. Good luck out there MechWarrior!
Best part of MWO is the customization and testing builds. The community is generally very friendly and helpful. Just play some games with the different free trial Mechs the game provides to find what suits your playstyle best and what you have the most fun with which will also allow you to save some C Bill's and then buy a mech that interests you and start having some real fun 😊
When you place the missiles, place a SRM6, then an SRM2, then the other SRM6. This places the SRM2's upon the shoulders, and keeps the SRM6's clustered in the side torsos.
I've seen these things around a whole lot lately and they're now in the list of mechs to eradicate on sight along Piranhas. LOL! For another fun mech with some ridiculous missile quirks is the Cicada X5. The current X-5 set of quirks has a +50% missile range, +20% missile velocity and -10% missile cooldown. With all the range nodes selected that thing has an LRM range of 1,485m, MRM range of 907m and SRM range of 445m. I've been having a really good time with an MRM40, a bunch of ammo, 2xERSL's and an XL280 on my X-5.
Yeah, I picked up the Scales hot a while back because I love SRMs and had been looking for a viper I could enjoy. I have no regrets. I have an Ebon Dragoon build that works as a poor man's Scales Hot, too.
To me it's like watching Bob Ross paint; just an absolute master of his craft, you can sit back and watch with full confidence he knows what he's doing. So relaxing.
This type of play with this mech reminds me of piloting an Arctic Wolf Prime which is my absolute favourite mech. I need to try this mech out. Thanks for the awesome content Bara….❤❤
I have 99 hours on this game. Lately whenever I try to play it an error pops up saying “Unable to initialize game” I’ve tried everything from verifying intercity of game fiiles from uninstalling to reinstalling/ removing from account to downloading direct x11 to checking it on my firewall Defender. And it still says unable to initialize game. I just bought a new mech before this happened someone please help
If you still have not fixed the issue yet the only thing I can think of is to try downloading the game with its own launcher instead of steam if you are already not using steam then try using steam. if that does not work I guess you could ask on the forums for help.
@@paradoxcalledlife I'd have to actually go back to the vid and look at his build again, which I probably wont do... being a lazy arse n all. But logically the only way is to strip armor, somewhere. heaven forbid he stripped armor off legs or torsos, but it is possible. Personally with double ammo quirks it has, I'd be fine with 2 tons in such a squishy mech, as I'm not good enough to need all that much. I'll die long before I run out of ammo I can remember one single game where I ran out of ammo on an SRM brawler.
It's probably not as game breaking as this, but I HIGHLY recommend the srm locust. 4 SRM 2s that fire ridiculously fast because of quirks and you're one of the fastest mechs in the game is ridiculously fun and really effective.
I will say people have definitely become aware of the scaleshot. They get primaried pretty quick and the team will now repo to prevent them from getting free backstabs. Still a very dangerous mech
Baradul running around like a rodent on meth in that second game. This is by far the most broken mech pgi has ever released, it's the best skirmishing poptarter in the game hands down
They overheated, had the heat override on, and when you go beyond maximum heat, you do damage to yourself. They basically melted their engine and disabled themselves.
The entire point of legendary mechs is to be OP so people will buy them and keep the lights on. I havent spent money on the game in years, and I'm sure there are many others like me... however, I may buy the scaleshot and mixtech urbies just cause I want them... thus making MWO stick around a bit longer.
The Scaleshot has been out for a while now, and I’m sure that PGI is aware tgat the mech is busted. PGI adressed the Moonwalker hardpoint issue relatively quickly, but the Scaleshot response (or lack of response) is more concerning. It seems apparent that PGI knows they’ll have to nerf it, but is more than happy to wait on doing so until they squeeze as much money from potential buyers as possible, before nerfing it into the ground, and releasing a new meta legend.
They die easily enough. Easy pickings for a fast mover if you catch him away from his team. Which with that range he likely will be getting too close. Or take it out at range, ppc poptart him to death. Even with it's range boost it doesn't even beat the range of er mediums of my Phoenix Hawk. Or just shoot him before he shoots you.
I am thinking of coming out of retirement and buying this but I suspect it will be nerfed and nothing ticks me off more than paying for a premium mech that gets reversed. That's actually illegal in the USA, I got a massive refund from Clash of Clans after they nerfed several premium units.
meh just wait for it to be in game MC which you can get free from events. It'll have been nerfed by then, but it's free. Just play other mechs til then and do all the events. Currently haloween grab bags, and I got a couple k MC last grabby bag event.
My machine gun Viper is pretty tough as well I love it! I've been able to save games with that mech. Best I've done was the time I tried to save a Direwolf on my team protecting our base. We were the only two left on our team. There were 6 light mechs left on their team. They decided to swarm the Direwolf just trying to capture our base. Then I swooped in with a mostly fresh Viper when I noticed what was happening. Unfortunately I could not save the Direwolf but I took out all six enemy mechs and won us the game... barely. But I did it.
Personal best of all times from myself was in a scaleshot 1.6 k damage. After that my team and i discovered i am an absolut madman in a Viper. Thankfully it git the heat😗l quirk removed that was absolutely bonkrs.
as the other guys posted... you are wrong. Twice. It is PTW by design and admittance. The entire point of the legendary mechs is to be OP so that MWO can still make money and not go away. SRM brawlers are incredibly skill intensive. No range, so you must get close without getting shredded. Low velocity weapon so you must be a master at target leading. With the added difficulty of verticality to make the mech work to it's full effect... any poor sod can press W and hit fire buttons letting armor protect them, it takes all kinds of skill to use flight and maneuver to avoid getting shot back.
@@hohenzollern6025 Then how do you explain the blight and gorewing? from what I have seen they are not overpowered but I will admit I have not played them. also if that were the case then the scale shot wouldn't be getting nerfed which it is getting nerfed next month.

Kudos to that lone PHX at the end with no weapons and still getting an enemy to kill itself.
i love this community, the corsair didn't rage or anything, just said 'kek'
this right here is why you are so valuable to MWO. very few do breakdowns of mechs that are really good players.

@Baradul could you try an anti-ECM build? Something with Active Scouting that can poke enemy scouts where it hurts? x
