I lost my father this year, and I swear everything in my house started to break. I’ve had to ask RUclips and Google the things that my Papa would inevitably know, so I really appreciate this video and all of the resources you gave! Today, you were playing the role of father. Cheers!
Pefect DYI instructional video, not too much endless talking when not needed!! Also as a tech, he's spot on... Whether you're fixing a computer, car, or a dryer, take pictures! 😁👍
Just ordered our 2nd heating element in about 11 or so years thought I would get a refresher and then you talked about woodworking, I recently got into woodworking myself so I’ll check out your videos, thanks for sharing
I never really comment on diy videos but this one is too tier! I have watched a bunch of other videos and this one compared to others was the best been working on this for a week and got in 15-20 mintues kudos to you!
Thanks so much for making this video! I have the exact same set from Whirlpool and it just started blowing cold air last week. So I was debating whether or not to fix it and how complicated the fix was. I was so happy to see that this is an easy fix that I know I can do! Thanks again!
Thanks for video, just referenced it when doing mine. I still can't believe what repair guys charge, I bought the element kit for 34.00 on Amazon and an hour or less to make the repair. Easy Peasy.
Yes! The first time mine went out, the dryer was less than a year old. We paid a guy to come fix it as we had a "warranty" after buying the house. He showed me how easy it was and I've done it ever since. Unfortunately they don't last as long as they should. I've had some last many years, and others crap out after 6 months.
Great video, thank you! I have discovered that my high limit thermostat is blown so will fix that. On testing also found that my heating element is black from heat but still conducts when tested. Is there any benefit to me installing a new heating element if old one is not blown?
I am not an expert, but I don’t think I’d replace a part that isn’t broken. Especially since it’s not like it’s hard to get to if it were to go out later.
When you connected the jumper wire that came with the new heating element, did your dryer have an extra wire of where it would of connected if it didn’t have the jumper wire?
I am not quite sure what you are asking. I've replaced this heating element several times. some of the heater coils came with the thermostat already attached and jumpered, but other did not. The jumper was for connecting thermostat on the heating element itself.
You'll have to investigate that on your own to make sure it is compatible. I always work from the original part numbers and check compatibility form there if I buy an after market replacement part. I usually start with www.searspartsdirect.com/ to get the part number I need based on the brand/model of the appliance. Once I have that, i use that part number to shop around for the best prices. You still have to be careful because some sites will show you similar parts even though you search a specific part number.
exact model I've changed these items in. I have a white wire w/blue line left & no place to attach. Anyone got any idea if needed or not since new parts are different ?
LOUSY VIDEO. NO HOW TO REMOVED OLD HEATING ELEMENT. ANYWAY, THE HEATING ELEMENT ON MY WHIRPOOL IS TOWARDS THE FRONT. JUST REMOVED THE BOTTOM PANEL, TEST THE ELEMENT WITH A MULT-METER AND IF IS BAD REPLACED IT WITH A NEW ONE.

Sorry to hear about your dad 😔 losing a loved one is tough.
Same here I lost my dad in February this year and we work on every thing 😪 but I have to go and look from time to time sorry for your loss 😔
My wife beats me but I will fix the dryer.😳

Wow, thank you!
My husband tried replacing our heating element. It was easy to change , but now when we turn the dryer on it trips the breaker
🤷♀️
I forgot to take a picture before taking everything off! Where does the top wire from the thermostat you pointed at go? And can I order a new wire?
Wow. I just fixed my dryer. Amazing.
This video was great!! I replaced my heating element just as you explained. Very easy to follow. Thanks!!
My dryer looks just like yours
Thank sir for taking time to show how to change it
Thank thank thank you!!! None of the other videos showed this exact model! I really appreciate you making this video! It was so easy to fix!
I've got the same dryer and having the same problem. Thanks
Great video. Just got my parts delivered today, going home after work and following your steps!

Good job for explaining this problem thanks
Why did you speed up the process on how to put it all together? How do you install the fuse parts to the heating element?
Replace the heating element fuse thermostats however, I still don’t have any heat. Can you give me an idea? What am I need to do yet? Thanks.

This saved me so much money, thank you!!
Glad it helped!
Update: I installed it right but it’s still not heating. Should I try a new thermostat? The new heating element didn’t come with one like yours did
Great video, thank you for your sharing.
There is a heating element out in the garage that Randall saved from the dryer he got rid of if the numbers are the same they will fit the dryer
Thank you for this video! Need it today
Thanks for your help!
Glad it helped!
Thank you !!!! I same one !! I’m gonna order the part. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Nice thorough walk through and tutorial. Sound could be better.
Thanks. Maybe someday I'll get a better camera/microphone. :)
@@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper i wish you could have slowed down when you were putting the parts of the heating element together at 4:51. 😔
Hello Jason, I have existing heater with 300 watt 240V, Can I replaced with 5400W 240 Volt? all dimension is same. Will it be working normal?

Judt did my element how long does burning smell last. Nervous don't want to start a fire
It may smell for the first cycle. But technically it always gets hot it’s just that it has to burn off the junk from manufacturing.
Thanks!
Jason Good Job!

Ty
Thank you
I have the same dryer .the dryer stops but the timer sounds like it's still going . Help pls ..
I wish I had an answer for you. I've never experienced that issue before.
Thank you. Awesome!
Thanks brother
😊👍
Bit of advice when you do these vids...Show the whole process dont skip anything!
Does anyone know the tool used at 4:51? I don't know how to get the screws into the heating element.
That was just my leatherman multi tool. Just using the screwdriver tool on it.
@@HandCraftedbyJasonCooper ok cool. Im new to repairing things. Thank u for this video. It helped me. 🙂
Thank you....
You bet.
My dryer stopped working when I press the start button what do I do?
I wish I had the answer to that. Just search online for the issue you are facing and the model of your dryer.
If you reconnect the broken springs it will work again.
I guess that would be true, but how would you reconnect them?
IS THAT SAFE
That’s a fair question. I would be hesitant to do that
I replaced the heating element and now it wont turn on
you did not show how heater element is removed (coil). Have to move on
You're right. But I did mention that there are 2 screws, one on each side, and pointed them out. It's pretty straight forward on this model.
A lot of times it's the timer that burns out .justsayn
Interesting. I’ve never had a timer burn out.
Take picture.
I got some Amazon China to fix this.
Gonna have Chinese food after.

I do mention how to remove the old element even though I don't show it. It's just 2 screws on this model and very simple.
What I hate most on YT is coming to a video and the first thing I see, is someones face. Sorry. why?
