- This video shows how I fixed an issue on our Admiral dryer where it stopped heating. The dryer would still run, but there was no heat so the clothes were not drying. There can be many causes of this, so I'll show all the steps I took to troubleshoot it.
Dryer model: AED4675YQ1

6:20 - Finish Хобби
Thank you! This was my exact problem! After replacing everything like the fuse and the thermostat and the heating element I found your video and I was able to fix it 😭 thank you!
Glad it helped. This was a tricky one for sure!
Same dryer, same problem. I was ready to order the replacement kit but decided to try this….. 😂 Thank you!!!!
I watched your video and I wanted to thank you. Fixed the dryer for a total of 10 bucks. The video was clear, concise and very easy to follow.
If you're going to do this for the affirmation of strangers on the internet I would recommend you continue with the great editing, solid camera work, clear voice recording without an awful youtuber affect, proper pacing, and overall quality because you, sir, are one of the greatest content producers I have ever encountered. Don't take this the wrong way but I hope I never need to watch one of your videos again and if I need you in the future I am sure I will again enjoy the video more than the repair. Excuse me I have some tools to put away.
Thanks for the kind words man, that's exactly the experience I decided to create when I started posting videos 7 years ago. It's so easy to show your viewers appreciation and respect for their time by doing the small things. It makes the video so much more pleasant to have good lighting, stable footage, clear audio, minimal yapping and wasting time. All that stuff takes so little effort on the part of the creator, but makes a big difference for the final product. Thanks for stopping by and commenting man. Hope nothing else breaks for a while!
Thanks! Saved me a lot of time and a trip or three to the hardware store to return parts I didn't need.
Have a kenmore series 100 dryer doing this exact same thing. Followed the steps in the video and fixed it no problem. Saved my fam a good chunk of changed. Thanks brudda
Thanks for this! Cleaning contacts saved me a lot of time and money!
Cleaned up the timer first, it didn’t heat, then replaced the parts and cleaned the timer again and it did heat! Thanks
Glad you got it fixed! 💪
Probably what need to do because I cleaned the timer and mine didn’t work. Parts will be here in 2 days
This is our same dryer and we had the same exact problem. Thank you so much, because our dryer is heating again!
Glad you got it fixed!
Your a Legend! Clicked this video before ordering my heating element kit to verify the model and part numbers, come to find out its the timer? I go put some love into my timer and what do you know? The dryer works now! Thanks brother!
that's awesome man. glad you saved a buck and got it working!
Same dryer, same problem, same exact contacts, thank you for saving the day!!
Glad you got it fixed!
Great video! Got my dryer running like new 😊
Great video, saved me some $$. Thank you! My problem was also the corrosion.
Very good video. I was able to fix my dryer.
Excellent!
I love your video. It helped me fix my dryer! Also I have a german Shepard dog with the same collar as yours so I that that was very cool. Thanks for the great videos that you do
Glad you got it fixed! And I love that you have a Sheppy. Give that good pup some belly rubs for me!
Thanks bro you were 💯right it was the timer housing and device
Aloha & Mahalo 🤙🏾
Glad you got it fixed!
@@thefiXfiles Amana should have your video on its website AND a flyer within the normal initial paperwork when buying one of these Amana Dryers 💯facts
Thank you for your video!!!
Thanks great video
You made that look easy.. I hope i have your luck. 😊 I think going in i am just goi g to replace the parts that i have. Then there will be no disappointment 😊. 😊
I had the exact same problem and was able to resolve it by applying a tiny amount of dielectric grease to the contacts in addition to sanding.
Awesome thanks
Tried replacing the mentioned parts and had no luck, trying the timer tomorrow to see if that’s the culprit, hopefully I can save my brother a few bucks on this 🤞
Does the dryer just stop heating or you notice something else before that happened? Mine began to smell like burn and then stop heating.
Excellent video. So, after replacing all the sensors, heater element, etc in the back, and taking apart my timer and sanding the contacts, mine still wont heat. Ideas??
I have an Amana dryer and replaced all the same components you did and it still is not heating, but I had checked the timer for continuity, and it had it so i figured it would not be the timer, but I did not think to open the timer itself and check the contacts. i am going to try this and see if it fixes the issue.
I changed everything, including the heating element. I cleaned the contacts in the selector, and the dryer is still running cold as polar bear balls. I'm in for $93 so far. Anyone with a suggestion for what to do next?
I'm going to try this tomorrow, as I think this is my problem as well! The dryer will heat intermittently depending on the way I turn the dial. Problem is I can't figure out which way to turn it to make it work so its randomly drying my clothes when it feels like it!
Good luck. Hope you’re able to get it fixed. It’s always nice to keep them going for a few more years instead of dropping the cash to buy new.
Thank you, I guess I'll have to find a repair man, we're past the age of getting up and down to repair, but at least I now have ideas of what's wrong!
I’ve don’t everything you did and cleaned the timer contacts and still have the same problem. Any ideas?
buy a new timer
@@arronwilliams700 was my outlet the whole time 🤦🏽♂️
@@arronwilliams700same here and I’m still getting continuity between the prongs on the timer. It wouldn’t show continuity if it was bad right or should I still replace it?
Great video. I have the same model and problem. My bad contact is pretty bad. Anyway to replace just the bad contact?
I’m having the same problem. Suddenly no heat, and the timer never stops, so I figured it was the timer. So I went through and did what you did, but the timer looks perfect on the inside, and i put it back together and it’s still not working.
Just replaced the timer and it’s still not heating. 😞
Well. My dryer JUST stopped heating today 😩. Gonna try the last step first. TOMORROW I guess. Since it’s bed time and 4:30am comes early 😢
This video just saved my bacon 😂
Why did you remove the whole top where the timer is?? All you needed to do was take the backing off and remove the timer.
I don’t really have a plan. I just turn the camera on and start tearing stuff up.
I just retightened and cleaned my timer and it works like brand new 💯🙏
I took off the top of my dryer because I didn’t wanna snap or break anything that was holding the timer housings and device. Was easier for me after I took it completely off. I thought there would’ve been something else holding the timer device and housings too the faceplate but only those two flimsy snap-in’s
Same dryer, probably the same issue. Will update shortly.
Didn’t work for me. I ordered a new Heating Element hopefully that work.
