    It's amazing that Beretta, a high quality firearms manufacturer, producing such an inexpensive firearm. I've seen the full size A1 as low at $365.00

    This gun is in my top 5 list.
    After several years of concealed carry, I think compact pistols are the best options. The micro compact pistols are only for a few situations where you cannot carry a compact real concealed (for gym, running, beach and so).

    • @sidyogendra5504

      What holster do you use to carry the beretta apx a1?

    • @HalfCrazy520
      @HalfCrazy520 4 месяца назад

      Agreed. I have no use for the micro-nines. Notice how the trend is to make the micros bigger and bigger... XL, XMacro, Hellcat Pro... so now you're pretty much back at the 'compact' size (about G-19 size).
      To your point, I have no trouble concealing a 'compact' in just shorts and a T-shirt. Plus, no one notices anyway, so I've never really worried about 'deep concealment'. What's the saying, "Small enough to carry but big enough to fight with"?

    The Beretta 92/M9 is the best service pistol ever created. Greedy Generals and the Military Industrial Complex demanded a replacement out of greed, instead of just ordering more Berettas. Now they have a gun that discharges itself in the holster. Great call.

    I have an older APX compact. I have many pistols, and I really think the APX is a nice gun. The thing for me- is, I just do not shoot it as well as my M&P 2.0, My Caniks, or my EDC, a Walther PDP compact. I was considering selling it.. but I am absolutely going to go practice with it again, before doing that. In this foreboding, disgusting time in America- I think if you own any guns, its wise to keep all of them.

  • @gutblaster187
    @gutblaster187 Год назад +11

    The APX A0 never had a chance in the XM17 trials since it didn't have an established record on the civilian market - one of the requirements of the trials. Miraculously, the Army's solicitation requirements were finalized a little over the year after the SIG P320 was introduced.
    I'm not big on polymer-framed, striker-fire pistols but I picked up an APX A1 FS + FF 3 package for a bargain. Though the trigger is like a refined Glock trigger and therefore beaten out by many of its competitors, the way the pistol absorbs recoil is unmatched by other guns of its class.

    I love the Beretta APX family, I have the OG APX Centurion (currently have the Compact 13 round frame on it) and the APX A1 Full Size. I'd like to pick up the APX A1 Compact as well, and I hope they make this new generation of frames in the 13 round (previously called compact) size because I think that's the sweet spot of these guns.
    The FCU swap is significantly more of a pain than Sig's is with the 320 series, as I watched you struggle with it a bit it reminded me of going through it myself.

    Excellent review! All of this info is spot on! LOVE the aggressive grips/ stippling on her! It’s not sliding around in your hand at all.. fits my hand like a glove like my CZ-85.. also liking the wider than usual trigger it’s super comfortable. Also love the triggers travel and reset it’s short and sweet on both ends! Plus she runs any ammo I put through her! The takedown lever was a pain the first 2/3 times just like you said now it’s easy.. as a glock& CZ owner I highly recommend this pistol for anyone who’s looking for a Glock 19 sized striker fire/ polymer handgun and only want to spend 380! Finding accessories for the APX A1 Compact is a little on the short list I guess because it’s newer but that’ll catch up in time! Thanks for doing this review and helping me decide on a great gun! When they were first released some the earlier ones had some finish issues not be uniform and a couple had a "slight" slide to frame play. When I finally bought mine it was perfect. Several hundred rounds later it still looks perfect and performs flawlessly. At 15 yards and I concentrate I can get quarter sized groups. Those slide serrations on the zero really caught my eye when it first came out, very appealing.

    I'm starting to think a gun is a gun is a gun. They all seem about the same to me anymore. It used to be some guns were reliable and some weren't. Now they all pretty much are reliable. They're pretty much all polymer framed, about the same shape, about the same capacity, about the same weight. Today we can spend $300 for a handgun that is combat handgun sized and combat capable right out of the box. Now it seems it's more about what do you like, what feels good in your hands, what looks good, etc.

    If you push the takedown lever first, rotate it, THEN pull the trigger, it'll disassemble easier.

    Great video as always...:) I like how you compared this model to the Glock 19. I have a full size original APX and a Glock 19 Gen 5. I think if I got this Compact version my G19 would spend most of its time in the gun safe...:) I'm also in total agreement that the original APX's slide serrations are so useful. I'm almost 65 and the original APX's slide is easy to rack. With that said, I'm glad the G19 Gen 5 has front slide cocking serrations...:) Keep up the great work and I look forward to your reviews, even though sometimes they get me to spend money(Kore belts, firearm tools, etc...:))

    Thanks for the video. So I noticed they called what used to be the centurion now a compact . I wonder if they are planning to release the 13 rds size frame?

    Just a word of caution. Many A1 FS owners on r/beretta report that Gen 0 kydex holsters do not have proper fit. Might be a good idea to check with your holster brand of choice to be sure.

    I had the full size loved it but couldn't find a holster for it. I ended up selling it. If someone starts making a good holster I would like to give a compact a home
