I got one about 5 days after release and shot it last week. It instantly replaced my G45 MOS. Hell of a gun. Accurate, softer to shoot than the PPQ, amazing trigger, and no weird brick in the hand feeling like a Glock. I'll take the cheaper German gun over the (somehow?) pricier Austrian gun.

The Walther PPQ is by far the most underrated duty pistol in the world. And by underrated, I mean it’s the best. I want to like Glock more than Walther, but it’s not even close in terms of quality.
The only thing Glock has right now is the 43X and 48 with shield mags... _if_ those mags hold up.

@@priest0701 omg it's absolutely awesome!! I love my HK Vp9 and it's trigger, but honestly the Walther PDP trigger just beats it. It's also extremely accurate right out of the box, has played well with everything I've put through it. Well worth the wait, well worth the money, and is now my favorite. Thanks for asking and be safe! 👍

@@bruce5168 Will do, have you tried any of the Canik's yet? I would be interested to hear what you think of those, and which one you have fired. Be safe and God bless!

@@bruce5168 I've the Canik Elite SC, was going to buy the PDP, believe it or not the Canik was 20% cheaper, I wanted a home gun and a higher capacity weapon that I could mount a light on and optics. At that time I had a PPS, and I still love it! I had the money for the PDP but that was going to be the entire budget. I kept on hearing about the Caniks, then Honest Outlaw did review on the SC, and I decided to go for the SC. About 20% cheaper and that money went to a light and eventually a holster, different from what came with the weapon. Now I am saving for a home/battle pistol and I am looking at the Canik Mete (full size) and the Walther PDP. I have messed with both at my LGS and the Canik was edging out a win, till I realized that the Mete was only going to mount micro dots. So now the PDP is leading, even though the Canik comes with so much more.... Sorry for the long reply, you should really try a Canik, you will like it.

Wouldn't it be better if the slide was cut for RMR and then add an adapting plate for everything else on the RMR footprint? Either way mounting plates are proprietary to each firearm.....

Finally in a free state where I have options on hand guns. What is the better gun especially for red dots. Optics ready VP9 or PDP? My p30 has been flawless.

Really a completely different type of gun. This is more like a Glock 19/17 like Larry stated. More of a combat handgun/house gun. A closer comparison to the Sig would be a Glock 43X/48.

I noticed they fixed the issue with the Q5 match by having a longer grip. What gives it away is the PDP has the same capacity as a Q5 pro but the magazine isn't jutting out beneath the grip. Give me this with the Q5 match slide plz :]

Love anything walther, this would be perfect if they would have put a hk vp9 style take down on it, still awsome tho. Good luck finding the 18rd mags, i cant believe they are non existent, are we still claiming backlog because of the sweet and sour sniffles?

I noticed a different trigger in the compact, and in one scene a different recoil spring. Some are recessed in the slide and some are flush. Wonder what’s the differences are?

    • @collinjones311

The recoil spring has to do with the modularity of switching slides on different frames.
