I’ve had my PDP compact for one year. Absolutely my favorite gun without question. Within the past month I added Hollis an SCS which Mary’s perfectly without Plate. Low profile green dot fantastic
The recoil looks to me to be pretty strong in PDP, how is your experience with it ? Is it a stronger than in Cz-P10c and Glocks ? Because the high bore axis was the only bad thing about PPQ and they kept that ...
@@denis3208 shooting all 3 side by side as far as recoil goes the smoothest is the P-10c , then the PDP and then the G19. Can't hardly notice the difference though. Shoots better then a PPQ that I recently sold.

@John Doe I'm actually liking the look of the compact. Especially since it accepts the larger frame magazine's. Hopefully they will come up with a spacer type thing like Smith and Wesson includes with some guns. To fill out the grip and avoid over insertion of the mag.
I got one about 5 days after release and shot it last week. It instantly replaced my G45 MOS. Hell of a gun. Accurate, softer to shoot than the PPQ, amazing trigger, and no weird brick in the hand feeling like a Glock. I'll take the cheaper German gun over the (somehow?) pricier Austrian gun.
Because of this video review, I bought me a Walther PDP full size 5" (18+1). I got so impressed with its reliability, accuracy, amazing trigger pull, not to mention ergonomics, that I ended up buying me a PDP compact size 4" LE Edition (15+1). I am very pleased. Nothing but praises about the Walther PDP. Thank YOU Larry!

The Walther PPQ is by far the most underrated duty pistol in the world. And by underrated, I mean it’s the best. I want to like Glock more than Walther, but it’s not even close in terms of quality. The only thing Glock has right now is the 43X and 48 with shield mags... _if_ those mags hold up. The fact that nobody even looked at the Walther CCP, reviving the legendary HK P7 gas recoil system, is a complete shame.
Picked up my Walther PDP 5" barrel on a Monday. I went to Walther USA website ordered my plate for a Holosun 407 CX2. Plate showed up in my mail on Thursday.

i never was either until i picked up a PPS M2 and a PQ22. Walther has done a quantum leap in ergonomics and shootability. Both of those guns feel and perform like much larger pistols.
You have to be insane not to like Walther. Just as reliable as Glock, great ergonomics and best triggers out there Walther should be more popular than they are, vastly underrated firearms.
Walther is definitely one of my go to carry pistols , For EDC know what works and never compromise. For me Walther, H&K and Wilson Combat. Rise above sub-par
Pistol looks very clean and being a Walther their reliability is on top. Love the slide front profile , kind of hexagonal that share with others German manufactures , must be no coincide for sure . Another great video Larry.
I fully realize what the market is for all guns right now. I get it. But...I’ve searched locally and online for this gun and everywhere I went was OUT OF STOCK. I even contacted Walther for a list of dealers and still couldn’t find one. Everyone has great things to say about the PDP though.
Ordered mine, can't wait, but so far I have to say my HK-VP9 has an Awesome trigger as well for a polymer striker pistol as well. We'll see if the PDP is better. Again... Can't wait!!

@@bruce5168 I've the Canik Elite SC, was going to buy the PDP, believe it or not the Canik was 20% cheaper, I wanted a home gun and a higher capacity weapon that I could mount a light on and optics. At that time I had a PPS, and I still love it! I had the money for the PDP but that was going to be the entire budget. I kept on hearing about the Caniks, then Honest Outlaw did review on the SC, and I decided to go for the SC. About 20% cheaper and that money went to a light and eventually a holster, different from what came with the weapon. Now I am saving for a home/battle pistol and I am looking at the Canik Mete (full size) and the Walther PDP. I have messed with both at my LGS and the Canik was edging out a win, till I realized that the Mete was only going to mount micro dots. So now the PDP is leading, even though the Canik comes with so much more.... Sorry for the long reply, you should really try a Canik, you will like it.

Love all my 3 PPQ M2's (9mm, 40 sw & 45 sw). If the PDP is better than the PPQ then can't wait. Wish they would keep the PPQ going also, because with the rounded, sleeker slide and slightly shorter grip length, this is what I carry easily every day. Very comfortable, best trigger out there, and all have been absolutely reliable.
Finally in a free state where I have options on hand guns. What is the better gun especially for red dots. Optics ready VP9 or PDP? My p30 has been flawless.
Wouldn't it be better if the slide was cut for RMR and then add an adapting plate for everything else on the RMR footprint? Either way mounting plates are proprietary to each firearm.....
Really a completely different type of gun. This is more like a Glock 19/17 like Larry stated. More of a combat handgun/house gun. A closer comparison to the Sig would be a Glock 43X/48.
Just got a walther ppq m1 for my 21st bday. I would get one of these but I'm a lefty and really love the trigger guard mag release and as far as I know it isn't on any newer handguns
HK VP9 full size and SK both have the trigger guard paddle style mag release (if you’re not dead set on Walther). Excellent striker fired 9mm handguns. How’s the M1?
I have the Apex flat face trigger and it makes shooting ever faster than the regular trigger. The reset is incredibly short making for super fast mag dumps.

I noticed a different trigger in the compact, and in one scene a different recoil spring. Some are recessed in the slide and some are flush. Wonder what’s the differences are?
Quick question for PDP owners. I have the compact 5 and noticed the muzzle flip/recoil. If I moved up to full size 5 or even a match or SD, would that help with recoil and muzzle flip? Given they might have different springs and more grip landscape? Trying to figure out how to lessen the muzzle flip through compensator, optic, and springco upgrades with my current 5 compact but not sure if I should just trade in and move up to a full size match or SD pro.

I noticed they fixed the issue with the Q5 match by having a longer grip. What gives it away is the PDP has the same capacity as a Q5 pro but the magazine isn't jutting out beneath the grip. Give me this with the Q5 match slide plz :]

As a note... the PDP takes Glock sights. So your aftermarket sight choices just skyrocketed.
That's been the toughest part as a ppq owner. And if I snag a pdp a can still use all my mags AND optic ready for less than a q4

I don’t think he meant the very pistols Larry had in his hands at the time. I think he meant the two models represented. So he intended no sarcasm.

My first Walther was the PPQ. As a left handed shooter its ergonomics are excellent. The trigger is superb and it functions very well. PDP is next.
PPQ was my first handgun. Nothing has ever compared…no point in diversifying but for small conceal like p365, j frame, for example

Canik TP9 series magazines will work in the Walther PDP series and vice versa

Mine auto forwards which I dislike twice when doing so bullet jammed on feed ramp and still on occasion catches on ramp. Little snappy

The recoil spring has to do with the modularity of switching slides on different frames.
