      I literally am schizophrenic and up until recently was homeless for roughly 5 years. And you’re not wrong. The 1x1=2 is obviously just him playing with semantics. Makes me wonder if all the other more technical stuff he said is the same semantic games but because it’s shrouded in a scientific language most people don’t speak it means it’s harder to spot the flaws. You’re right though I actually want him to be right about something. He seems really OCD or autistic. However crazy geniuses do exist. Maybe he’s got like one thing right but that one thing is worth it for all the noise.

    • @flashpointprdx
      @flashpointprdx 4 месяца назад +3

      @benwoods5616 maybe, but I'd say a broken clock being right twice a day doesn't make it useful. I'll give anyone who has earned some credibility the benefit of the doubt but until Terrence has applied his mathematical theories in a revolutionary way in the real world or actually demonstrated his new flying technology I'm going to assume he's just kooky.

      @benwoods5616 4 месяца назад +2

      @@flashpointprdx That John Nash guy the film “A beautiful mind” was about had a lot of delusions as well and he discovered game theory. Of course that doesn’t mean every paranoid schizophrenic is a genius. And I know what you mean about a broken clock but maybe it isn’t the best analogy because sometimes that one time it’s right is very useful. Sure most of John Nash’s beliefs were destructive to his personal life but in the end his discovery helped mankind. I realise obviously there’s a degree of wishful thinking on my part because I’d like my schizophrenia to be good for something! But that doesn’t mean it isn’t. People play different roles in society and some people’s job is to be narcissistic and crazy because it takes a degree insanity to think in ways other people won’t and a degree of egomania to even attempt to discover something world changing. I just hope it’s not a lottery and that there are ways in which every schizo has benefit even if it’s not game theory.

      If you do a little research he's actually been working on this since he was a kid. Quick question. Take Terrence off of the table. Is it hard to understand that math is merely a concept. However when you apply that concept to physical space the physics does not add up. For instance, in reality, negatives does not exist. It only exists as a concept of mathematics. If I have one phone and you can only take that one phone. It is not possible for me to ever have a negative amount of something. I can't physically hold a negative amount of anything in reality. I can never have a negative amount in reality, but in math and on a piece of paper as a concept you can have a negative amount. Yes you are absolutely correct. The sentence 1 x 3 simply means 1 is to be added 3 times. I used the starting point zero to illustrate what this looks like on a number line. On a number line, starting at 0, we are to move 3 times in the positive direction. But the command 1 x 3 as you described is exactly right.

      The point is, you're not starting from 1, that is in the sentence. 1 X 1 or 1, 1 times. Interesting in the comments. People are programmed to assume that the mainstream person is always right. This has never been the case. I am at least willing to be open to the possibility that Terrence is right in this case. It certainly makes sense. Neil is never open to anything outside of conventional mainstream science. He was one of those saying that Tesla Motors was going to fail, because the battery is a flawed model. He was absolutely wrong about that and had to eat crow and ended up buying a Tesla. Never assume that the mainstream consensus is always right. This has never been the case in our history of human civilization. Giadano Bruno is a case in point, as is Nikola Tesla.

      @@ARCHCOMPOthat’s the dumbest statement I ever heard. 1. **Understanding the Function**: When you input a function that multiplies by one into a device meant to replicate objects, it essentially means that for every item inputted into the device, the device will output the same number of items.
      2. **Effect of Multiplying by One**: Multiplying a quantity by one doesn't change the quantity. So, if you input one item into the device and apply a function that multiplies by one, the device will simply reproduce one item as the output.
      3. **Repetition of the Same**: Regardless of how many times you input items into the device and apply the function that multiplies by one, the device will consistently replicate the same number of items as the input.
      4. **Effectiveness of the Device**: In this scenario, the device effectively does nothing in terms of altering the quantity of items. It simply reproduces the same number of items as the input, making it seemingly redundant or non-functional for this particular task.
      In essence, using a device to replicate objects and applying a function that multiplies by one would result in the same number of items being produced as the input, rendering the device ineffective or redundant for altering the quantity of items.

Everyone in the scientific community believes that multiplication does not apply to physical nature but is simply used as a way to measure. Howard believes that everything in the universe including multiplication should abide to the laws of physics. Hence, from his POV 0 x 1 cannot be 0 according to the law of conservation which is a basic principle in the laws of physics. 0 x 1 has to be 1 or else what happens to the energy? But remember he disagress with how multiplication is used and that it should be abide to the laws pf phsycics. If you think about things from this perspective, i think you can humor or indulge him on this perspective. This would entail rethinking how we even are hardwired to think about multiplication.

    Terrance is just too hung up on language and philosophy to really understand what math is. He is hung on on this word "multiply" that is not actual what multiplication does believe it or not. In a sense multiplication is counting groups. One group of one is one, one group of 2 is 2, five groups of 2 is 10. Math was created to count things and it evolved and still performs the same functions at its core.

    Neil DeGrasse Tyson actually responded to Terrance Howard's treatise and SHOWED his responses for the world to see. Neil didn't "attack" anything Terrance wrote in his treatise. He responded logically to Terrance's ideas and theories. The fact that Terrance got in front of Joe Rogan and said NDT attacked him with no evidence shows how absolutely INSANE Terrance Howard is.

    You walk to a tree a grab 1 apple. You walk over again, now you have 2 apples, 1+1=2.
    If you walk over 10 x's, you have 10 apples. You can only walk over to the tree 1 time technically before the number of attempts ADDS up. Therefore 1x1 can only =1. But you can walk over 2 twice, and ADD both apples together=2, or keep them separate , but you still have 2 apples, because you did it 2 TIMES. If you walk over 10 x's and didn't bring back any apples either time, you have 10x0= 0.

    Dividing is a 3D concept, whereas subtracting is 2D. same goes for Multiplication and Adding. Though they appear the same, they do different things (obviously) It's minds like his that are the reason why there are advancements in technology. Look at Stephen Hawking for example, His original theory on black holes was thought to be right, until he himself disproved it and so he theorised another idea on black holes, with the theory of quantum theory. So in other words, Stephen hawking disproved his own theory and said it was wrong, but people weren't mad at him for disproving his own theory, so why are people aiming hate towards somebody who was challenging an idea? Never saw the same energy towards stephen hawking?, or is it because of his credentials?
