My pinkie just suddenly starting doing this a few minutes ago and I have no clue why. I can move it fine, but when I bend it, it suddenly snaps to a further position. Like imagine these numbers are the position changing: 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11. Like it’s skipping to a further angle/position when I bend it.

@@anzu6895 yeah I still have it and its inconsistent. Some days it doesn’t do it but most days it locks a few times. Try to squeeze your hand tight and rub the bottom of your finger so it doesn’t snap open. From what I’ve researched on, you don’t want it to snap because of the tissue or something will make it worse? But I’ve gone to the dr and he prescribed me some pills to reduce the inflammation ( trigger finger is an inflammation ) tbh I’m not sure if it’s doing anything. I’ve just been wearing a hand brace so that my hand does not close all the way while I’m asleep because that’s when I notice my fingers locking the most. I usually my fingers curl at the end of the brace so it closes to an extent but not all the way. That’s my update on my hand at the moment

Great explainer vid. I had my second lot of steroid injections this afternoon, I work 9-5 each day typing on a laptop, they advised me I should fully rest the hand and not even type for the next couple of days, would this really be the case ? Do you need to rest your hand to that extent after the injection? Might be a tricky one to explain to the boss...!

I get this pain at the base of my baby, ring, and middle fingers with the middle causing the most pain. I had tendon release surgery several years ago and was never able to open my hand fully post-surgery. A minimally painful cortisone shot at the base of the finger works well and can last up to 2 years. My new hand doctor does not condone more than 2-3 shots ever in a tendon so I’m in search of a new one.

Yeah, maybe this trigger finger would have been diagnosed over a year ago, but doctors gaslighted me. Saying there is nothing they can do, just take some pain medication and B/P medication. The doctors said that since my cervical neck has problems, the pain in my hands is normal, and I will live like this for the rest of my life. Both hand swell up like balloons every morning, and some fingers pop and lock, and pain is so tense that I wake crying every morning. And now my R ring finger will not move at all. I am scared to go to the ER. Can my PCP give the shot to help straighten my finger?
I woke up this morning pain-free, which was actually weird, and noticed my R ring finger would not move, and it was extremely swollen. But my other fingers were moving fine, except for my usual numb and tingling to the all fingertips on both hands, but the R ring finger nothing. The R ring finger is bent towards my palm, and it does hurt a lot when I tried to straighten the finger manually. It felt dead until about an hour ago it started swelling up, and it is becoming more painful to touch and when the pink moves, I think it because the finger is trying to reposition/straighten itself but can not. Ice burns my skin, I tried heat it did not help, and I can not take anti-inflammatories because of another medical condition. Any home treatments?

My middle finger has catching and getting stuck for around a year, but now my ring finger next to the middle is catching, but worse the knuckles are swollen and the ring finger is throbbing in pain. I have an idea that a certain action may have injured my tendons but why does my ring finger hurt and throb now? I couldn't believe that the pain woke me up and I had to rub some instaflex on it to relieve the pain. Surely you can bear up for a few seconds of moderate pain to gain perfect pain free mobility again? I had my right thumb injected a year ago: never had any problem since. You can do this!
