How to fix a bent motorcycle shifter Ducati Monster 797

How to fix a bent shifter on the Ducati monster 797.
Easy fix, used one tool that worked for the bike, other options used on RUclips and other sources DID NOT WORK for me on this bike.

There arnt many videos on the 797 or Ducati’s in general on “How to” or even basic maintenance!
I will be showing you how to, tips and tricks about this bike to help normal people at home to fix or do it their self!
Ducati charges $300 to do an oil change.
I’ll show you how just for the cost of parts which is no more then $100 and other how to videos.

I laid my 797 down and bent the shift lever just like how it looks in the video. I ended up using a large socket to bend it back into shape. Good video, smart 👍

I know it may not be 100% steel haha, but it was pretty tough but manageable just by using both hands 🤘🏻👍🏻

I wiped out at 15 mph. Now the shifter is scraping the fairing. I need to bend the shifter away from the fairing using your technique.

Same I drop it in the drive way and the shifter bent in 😭

Remove the lever from the bike then bend it in a vice. Otherwise, you could compromise the splines or gearbox shaft which becomes expensive and painful.

Probably must take it apart, I know I’m late but how does it manage to bend outside? Did you hit something while riding?
