I came across this video about 10 or 11 months ago because after not dancing for 10 years I wanted to start again and wanted to properly prepare my body for the type of dancing I do which is power pom with very fast and big movements. Because I am not naturally flexible and was out of shape, I was concerned about getting injured. I have to say I am happy and have gained flexibility that I did not have in my 20s because I wasn't doing targeted stretches, I was just dancing. I have done this workout then 2 other videos targeting stretches for dancers every single day for the entire 10 / 11 months. I can actually do high kicks now and dance technique has improved I have lost weight and dancing is actually easy and fun again. So Thank you for this video.
I took ballet classes all throughout college, and it really changed the relationship I had with my body and even my body itself. It was so wonderful to have an excuse to let go of everything else and just focus on myself for an hour three times a week. I really got into the ritual, and I was at my most motivated both mentally and physically, doing strength training and yoga every week as well. But, after college I moved to Spain, and in between living with a Spanish family and teaching the kids English, Spanish classes at the university, and now a job at an academy teaching English, I couldn't find the time (or the place) to continue with ballet. I found a class I really enjoyed, but my work schedule made it impossible. My goal for the new year is to get back in line with my body. I've been looking for a short, relaxing ballet stretching video to add into my morning routine, and this is exactly what I was looking for. THANK YOU!
Love your video...sooo beautiful to watch! I love pony tails, but a bun is a classical ballet hairstyle and then a ponytail isn't swinging in the way of one's face! I have a mild form of MS and am 68 years old. I've been doing Yoga off and on for over 40 years and was a fitness trainer in my late 40s and took some ballet classes when my three daughters were little so I'm inspired to get into some basic moves and stretches again and Yoga and ballet moves are good for people with MS if they're not in a wheelchair. I just use a cane and hopefully someday will be able to ditch it! Thanks for your wonderful video!! Much appreciated!
i really appreciated the music in the background. It was really effective.A pony tail or a bun is fine. i liked the flower in the background and the pillows. They added a lot of warmth. This is a great video.
My name is Eryn and I like ponytail better and I am going into ballet class and now because of you I am a lot more flexible thank you for making the is video to help people be flexible
I like how direct the Psychetruth team is! But you are one of the lucky people who do not matter in what way they wear their hair because it is always cool! :-)
I've just graduated year 12, and in year 4 i used to dance - i did contemporary, which was like a mix of hip hop and ballet. I hadn't realised how much I missed it until I started stretching my legs last night, so I came across this video and it's brilliant. I really want to start dancing again x
Thanks so much for the video I used to be a dancer and now after years of not doing it I am opening my own dance studio and this would be perfect for my students to watch! Thanks!
I've been stretching on and off (i'm too lazy to do it daily) in hopes of regaining flexibility after 3 years off of ballet! This is really helpful as i've never really done these exercises 💓 i believe that i eventually can do ballet again 💓
When i go to class i always catch a glimpse of the girls doing ballet in their class, they look so gracefull and elegant. I too wish to be that. I feel so good after doing these stretches, i didnt do em well but they still feel good nonetheless. I wanna try ballet in the comfort of my house and learning these streches is the first step. Thank you 🫶🏽
Reminds me of the stretches I used to do in martial arts. There is strength in flexibility, if you do it right, as, believe it or not, a flexible set of muscles is a stronger set of muscles, regardless of size. Of course, for me, that was decades ago.
Top notch. I have been stretching for 30 years, yet your video's always teach me something new. Love the balance in the routine between opposing muscle groups.
Honestly, I’ve been doing this for 3 days and I’m already seeing massive improvements to my flexibility. Only a couple of days ago I could barely do the splits and now I’m almost touching the ground! Tysm ❤ defo try this out
Yesss I felt that stretch in my muscles. I am looking through a bunch of stretch routines and doing all of them in a row to see if it helps out more. Nice job!
I'm going to start ballet again, and i need to regain my flexibility, ballet is what makes me happy and i long to go back to it, i hope things work out and thank you so much for this video 💗
this was fun and i feel so much better now after doing it. I think I'm going to try to do this as much as I can during the winters since I can't go on walks.
Thank you the stretch, you're an awesome instructor. I did all you're split routines, and I'm doing them everyday until I get it, even then I will not stop
Another excellently guided video, Donnie! Was actually surprised at myself with the ability to keep up with this lesson. And I prefer the ponytail (got a thing about flowing hair); but if a bun keeps it out of your way, do that (still looks lovely). I know when I had longer hair, some times it would tickle the base of my neck or upper back.
I danced for 9 years since I was 3 years old and did not practice at all for over 5 years I think I lost my flexibility so I hope thins can help me, Thank you soo much
Cracking the back would be a bad thing, I would think. It creates a release point so that tendons around the crack don't have to stretch as far. Great Video!
My dream is to do ballet one day but I am just not flexible so I’m going to try and do these stretches everyday and see if there’s any improvement in my flexibility. In cheer I just feel so out of place because everyone can do there spilts and I can’t.
Brings me deja vu... I start dancing scine 3 and stop at 7 because school problem, and this video is the exact same as my stretch that my ballet School teach me
hi girls awesome videos like always but i was wondering if you can make a video for stretches before you go to bed. It would really help me because i need to relax more but i like doing yoga before i go to bed. Also i get sore when i wake up in the morning. So can you please make one. It would really help. If not its ok i was just wondering. But any ways have a great day. :)
I just finished editing a 30 minute yoga to put you to sleep workout. I'll put it up in sometimes early next week. It's really good too. I almost fell asleep editing it.
I've followed these daily for little under a week and am already seeing a little bit of results. Plus I'm aching less after my dance classes. Thankyou so much xx
Hi Donnie! Is ballet a good way of exercising for me? I'm a little more than average tall, around 130 lbs, small-medium build and a banana type body with some small curves. I've been told I have a very proportional body by a dance teacher. I'm absolutely not a dancer, but I do want to improve my body and flexibility. I want that kind of petite, elegant body like you, and not that muscular body you get from strength exercises. I'm considering yoga too. As for what I want, my arms are a bit flabby with a lot of fat on the upper arms. My belly is my problem area, and I want it flatter with a narrow waist but I don't want visible abs either. I have a bit short legs and my thighs are a little chubby too. I'm not overweight at all, but I do want to lose some fat from different places. What do you recommend?
I know I'm not Donnie, but as a dancer, having a proportional body is a big advantage! Also, if you're petite and not that muscular, that's also a bog advantage. Dancing will definitely improve your flexibility and don't worry about your arms and stomach, dancing fixes that so easily trust me! So yea you should try dancing
Anyone here in 2023? I recently rediscovered Donnie's videos. I remember doing this about 6 years ago or so. I'm bummed Donnie didn't make any recent videos.
Thanks for teaching these stretches. The bun is nice however I am sure you look fine either way don't worry too much on your looks being healthy will show that. Thanks pretty lady.
well hello there Melissa. So you decided not to fret and went ahead and got on the net hey?lol. How have you been? Am also sending prayers to you for the loss of your loved one. Itll be a long road of recovery and my thoughts will be with you now and always and will send you prayers on a daily basis. youre a rare find and am glad i ran into ya here on the net.
Thanks hon. I appreciate it. You nailed it--a very long road to recovery. It's weird--I'm terrible and extremely great. Hear this is somewhat common during transition and grief. And remember, ultimately, I am just a reflection of YOU.

Donnie I like your hair more in a bun than in a ponytail but have your hair in whatever style you want it in it's only in my opinion!
@Richard Kim with these stretches it's not really tension unless your unflexible but if you are flexible it just relaxs the muscles!!!
I am dancer and these exercises are so helpful.
Ok
Me - I'm really gonna start taking this seriously
Instructor - now lie on you back
Me - Nap time
Hannah Dingle lol
YAAAAAAAAAAAAASS!!!!
i relate
The more an instructor tell me to get on the floor the more I just go to sleep😴
HA ME

hows it going now?
same!! getting back to ballet after 5 years and i really hope it works out, best of luck. any update on it tho?
That’s inspiring 👌🏻
Hope you're still doing well.
This really motivates me to stretch daily to get better at ballet
Im so out of shape and not flexible AT ALL and suddenly i have a crazy interest in ballet/dance so… here we are?
Real
so sudden, i thought it was just me 😭
Me also suddenly
Sameee, the obsession i had with becoming a ballerina as a child has come back
It's easier to exercise if it's for something your interested in
I’ve been doing these stretches for over 2 months now and I have definitely seen improvements in my flexibility. Thank you!
That was the best! leg stretch I've had in years, and it flipping hurt.
Yess feel that pain 🥲
I forced myself into the mindset of no pain, no gain so yk 🤷🏽♀️
ya but it shouldnt hurt too much or else you risk injuring yourself

I'm starting Ballet in the fall and was looking to get a head start on flexibility. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
5 years later...I hope you're still dancing...did you go en pointe?
I have been doing this stretch ever night for a few weeks now and my ballet has improved so much thank you!!
would've been better if you talked about form during stretches because not everyone knows how to angle their torso on certain stretches.
Love this! I don't dance, but I'm into martial arts, so this is part of my daily stretch routine. Thank you!
Hey! I’m in martial arts too! Is it effective for you?
i really appreciated the music in the background. It was really effective.A pony tail or a bun is fine. i liked the flower in the background and the pillows. They added a lot of warmth. This is a great video.

I came here for the leg stretch and stay because i got back cracks :) love it
Just got into ballet. Thank you for this helpful video on warming up. The one dance class I went to so far just had people do self guided stretching.
Top notch. I have been stretching for 30 years, yet your video's always teach me something new. Love the balance in the routine between opposing muscle groups.

I started doing these stretches a few days ago and I think my body wants to say thank you
I like your hair in a bun because it makes you look more professional!
Years later, this is still my favorite!
Honestly, she’s so beautiful she looks amazing in a bun or ponytail. 🤗🤗
your hair looks fantastic in a bun! great vid!
I do ballet 13 years. I love ballet so much and especially I love ballet outfits, shoes.
I think you look better in a ponytail. Thank you for this amazing video!
This stretching alleviated my back pain a bit. Thanks and I like you hair. I think it’s better than a ponytail :)
I love your hair in a bun! Also I love this quick and easy exercise!
I'm going to start ballet again, and i need to regain my flexibility, ballet is what makes me happy and i long to go back to it, i hope things work out and thank you so much for this video 💗
3 months later how are you now!?! Cause I wanna start ballet
Very nice stretch after a workout! Guys PLEASE make sure your muscles are warmed up before you stretch. 💋
this was fun and i feel so much better now after doing it. I think I'm going to try to do this as much as I can during the winters since I can't go on walks.
Great video!!! Much appreciated.
OMGOMG these stretches are amazing
Changed my life for the better !!
If you’re a more flexible dancer I recommend doing this stretching in the morning just to get your blood floating. Great video for beginners though ❤️
This is my go to! Thanks. And the bun is classic and elegant :)
First time watching. I needed this.
Blessings
Really helpful!!

Thank you! I’ve got a desk job so this is a great way to help me loosen up when I’m working from home 👍
I danced for 9 years since I was 3 years old and did not practice at all for over 5 years I think I lost my flexibility so I hope thins can help me, Thank you soo much

Any exercises for the neck and face stretches, after workout?
Hi i do it at least once a weak amazing streches
Great basic stretching to get you loosened up. I liked it 👍🏼
Lovely stretches - I don't really care whether your hair is in a ponytail or a bun though🙂
Your hair is great both ways! You are blessed with healthy hair.
I've followed these daily for little under a week and am already seeing a little bit of results. Plus I'm aching less after my dance classes. Thankyou so much xx
My favorite stretching video! thank youu
what is better, to flex before or post workout? and how many often should i do the flex exercise? daily?
Love the Ballet Bun😍
Hopefully I can follow through and do it everyday for a MONTH. I’ll see how flexible I get!!

I also have chubby thighs, but don't worry they get thinner and turn into muscle( but not like bulky)
For me this is too fast and short for daily dancers routine! still some good exercise -thanks!
Thank you! I love to strecth from ballet videos so i could be flexible more
Hi 🙋♀️ this is a very nice 👍🏻 and I am really looking for a pony tall
I loved this thank you for sharing!
i hope you have new ones I like donnie's work out and how she teaches
That felt so good!
IDK I haven't got to your hair yet :) your smile is mesmerized me !
Anyone here in 2023? I recently rediscovered Donnie's videos. I remember doing this about 6 years ago or so. I'm bummed Donnie didn't make any recent videos.

MultiHungryeyes How are you? Any questions for tomorrow?
Thx for the video it helped me alot
you should be instructing people as they are stretching as your mirror image
Does this stretch routine work if I don't dance or do anything like gymnastics.
Yes definitely
+PsycheTruth h
Nelli Nevska can this help me do gymnastics instead of ballet?
Of course
