    I used to do thrash metal riffs like this but I didn't know the not names and simple music theory... in the beginning we didn't have RUclips we actually relied on our ears and real music creation. Thank you for explaining the music notes names!

      Though this next module is based on adding hammer ons and pull offs, there’s also a lot of galloping!
      But having a module dedicated to galloping isn’t a bad idea!!

      @@jasonstallworth cool perhaps contrast how Iron Maiden gallop/reverse gallop varies from Metallica and Slayer gallop rhythms. Iron Maiden gallop hang out of low A string versus low E string and they mix in a lot of double stops.

    Everyone’s learning speed is unique like their tone. It’s great you proved dedicated lesson package online so people that do want or need can have 1 on 1 learning from video and tabs if that’s there style. I personal watch videos upside down so that I’m “looking over your shoulder” per say . I learn at light speed now even playing most my life this way all these years watching from “across from view “🤦🏻 different perspective was a game changer . Personally I recommend flipping my view of screen it makes learning others riffs and solos so much easier . 🔥🔥🔥🔥🎸

    I like the riffs the way they are. I am a beginner and the way you teach them I can understand. It would be nice to have a choose your own adventure type series where you start with a riff and you can choose different riffs to complete an entire song. I am oversimplifying the structure of a song because I'm a beginner but if you could break a song down into different parts that we can choose that's what I'm getting at. Like the old choose your own adventure books but for guitar.

    Love original content and the idea that you want to give viewers tools to incorporate riffs in their own playing. It's great. Thanks for that!
    For me personally. Started playing late. Don't have the music theory knowledge, am planning on learning yet need something more rewarding to keep chugging. Like playing songs from my favorite artists and for non professional players, there's only so much time in which to squeeze in practicing everything. I know there are plenty of you tube videos showing how to play songs but it's just my opinion that it would be much more beneficial if an instructor could combine both. Like for example taking a Metallica riff and explaining the techniques incorporated in it. Doing that for entire songs would be fantastic.

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  3 года назад +2

      That's definitely a good idea to learn songs. Unfortunately, I don't think I or anyone could have a course based on other people's music (there are restrictions to that sort of thing...you even have to be careful posting RUclips videos that feature someone else's songs). THank you for the feedback!

      @@jasonstallworth you're correct you tube does have strict rules and automatic algorithms running to tag copyright material. I think I heard some content creates on you tube mention that you can use other people's material as long as you purchase the license to do so.

      @@jasonstallworth I think you can do it, but you have to jump through numerous hoops and no doubt pay a fair bit to licence the music. Justin Guitar did it recently under a subscription method and all the tabs get locked into the site so can't be downloaded. Even then, you can only add what you can get a licence for.
      I've already noticed some transfer of skills from metal riff master to a few songs 🤘🎸

But they are in my opinion one of the greatest new wave American thrash metal bands on the scene. Fuck that pizza thrash shit, this band is fresh and has heart and not stale or dull at all and pay homage to old school thrash by playing in standard and using a unmodified jcm800 and a overdrive pedal not crazy high gain shit that wasn't even out yet back in the 80s or low tunnings. I had no idea who they were, I went to go see Cannibal Corpse and holy fuck I was blown away by these kids man, they've all in there late 20s and Riley was 31. It sucks so bad that he died.
