That young man should be named Ranger since he gets to investigate the entire farm and keeping things in check. It it too early for snow but I think that all year round. I have to go turn on the heat lamps for the chickens today. It is about 3:30 am and a very brisk 27 degrees with a 100% chance of snow. No no no, I have things to do. Oh and goats milk is delicious, first time trying it today.

Al, I'd like to see a breakdown of what in feed costs you spent to raise the 1090 pounds of meat in feed and bedding?
If it's like most small scale operations, it costs less the more you produce per pound. Also a rough estimate on how much time was involved with the morning and afternoon chores?

    • @samvalentine3206

The rest of the asparagus stalks make great additions to soups. Where I live we get a lot of asparagus grown on the farms, and it's also a favourite vegetable for gardeners to grow locally. I hope you get chance to make up a bed next spring.
Not sure on the rooster name. I'm sure other subscribers will come up with a great idea or two.

All of those rocks in your pasture would drive me crazy. I would be hauling them to the edge of the woods so I could level off the pasture and grow some better grasses for the animals. It would also save wear and tear on the mower and make it easier moving the chicken tractors around.
Keep the great videos coming Al

I'd probably leave the quad copter option for the year after. You have to have winter projects, right?

Thanks for showing the chickens more. They are beautiful. Different breeds, colors, I liked that you lingered the camera on them. Bonus was the egg laying hen!😲😁

We're still in the eighties, but I do need to wear a flannel shirt in the morning. Heard from others should be a very cold winter, I haven't had to wear a coat in a couple of years unless I'm visiting my daughter in Oregon.🙏❤️

Congrats on the 19 eggs!! You know, the only thing Buttercup may need is some sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to cure her burps. Anyway it's worth a try!
