The name Lumnah Acres is still a perfect name for the new property. If you are going to build a rental cabin somewhere, I would name that section Lumnah Retreat or Lumnah Refuge. Maybe Olivia could give names to some areas like the pond or a meadow or certain wooded areas or different roads you will make over time, depending on your plans for the property. So much happening in your future! Smart man.
Like others, I like Lumnah acres. Historically in years to come, every one in the community will always know that the first family that homesteaded there were the Lumnahs, and refere to it as so.
They are definitely NOT the first to settle the current Lumnah Acres. There was actually a home already on the property which had burned and there are several neighbors adjacent. As for the new property, Al said it was a wood lot originally.
How about "The Woodlands" later it could be Lumnah Woodlands Homestead. The build is going well and when you put the level of the bottom of the fire pit I thought for sure it would be way off instead of level. The camera angle makes it look like it is going downhill. Have a Blessed day. BTW Gina, you have the Lasagna down to a science...exactly enough to fill that dish and not a drop more. Looked delicious as always.
Since your first build started with a fire pit you could call it Fireside. Or The Landing, Lumnah Landing, since you just kind of landed there. I'm pretty sure you've got more than just one Beaver left in that particular pond. Great video, Jimmy
I liked the part where the site supervisor (Olivia) turned up to inspect the work. Puts one leg up @21:34 and exchanged a few moral boosting pleasantries with the workers. When she was satisfied with the progress made she then retreated to the comfort of her office 😁. She's a good #BossLady 👍
PEACEFUL ACRES seems appropriate because you and Gina both felt peaceful in the first video, when coming to the new property. God bless and keep safe and healthy all who enter in these acres.
for those beavers id do this: open up the dam put in a long pipe so that if they plug it up again the water will still flow i seen people do that before and that seems to work

Lumnah Acres is such a good name and you & Gina have built it into a brand, you don't want to dilute it or confuse potential followers. Perhaps name the new property Lumnah Acres North-East-South-West ( whichever direction it is from LA). Later if/when you sell LA the new buyers will change the name to make it theirs, so then the new property becomes Lumnah Acres. David Chamberlain, down thread suggested The Annex...that's really good too, and will dovetail nicely into LA later. I worked in marketing for years and K.I.S.S. always applies, cos the public generally has the attention span of a newt.😁
With it being so cold there, what about putting a small heater in the outhouse? I think you could get completly warmed up in there. A small table and chair for Olivia to home school or to eat lunch. I think that would be perfectly alright for that since you will have a composting toilet. If you put up shelves you could curtain around the toilet. You could even have a dry sink. Probably need rat traps. LOL I love watching you first thing in the morning. Never a dull moment. I was thinking this morning that Gina has so much to do and still she helps with all the builds. She is getting to be such a carpenter. She gets the award of being the chief bottle-washer, cook, farmer, and carpenter also wife and mother. I was wondering what beaver pelts go for these days.

You may think about buying a shipping container use it for dry storage to lock all your stuff up i.e. generators extra lumber tools. And then sell it when you’ve got your first storage building up. It will save you a lot of headaches.
He could keep the Shipping container for storage even after he builds a house and barns on the property. just add some insulation and electricity and lighting fixtures to help keep it from getting too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer and the lights so he can see where things are at in there. lol Or could use the shipping container to build a house off of or a barn off of.
Al and Gina love watching you two build together not just in your lives but also on the homesteads. Olivia's chickens are definitely out laying new yolk city. Have a blessed day and I look forward to the next video.

So many questions. Aside from that, the Broccoli looked terrific! The whole meal did. Thank you for sharing!
500 acres for agriculture is not that much, especially when some is not usable and large parts are kept in forest, you can be self sufficient off far less but if you want it to be actual job where you make money then you need a LOT of land, I know I grew up in agriculture on 2500 owned acres and another 2500 or so leased.
Wonder what the “big” secret is about where the land is located? My question is how a poor homesteader gets financing to buy 500+ acres. No matter what State you’re from you are looking at 1-2 million dollars. Now if you have a solution I would sure like to know.
@@zetuskid well if your you tube channel is quite successful you can earn up about $2,000 a video. That’s why he pumps out a video everyday hoping a particular video hits the jackpot in viewings. But sometimes it can be rather boring seeing the same old chickening feeding and goat milking milking everyday.
This is going to probably sound a little too obvious and on the nose but considering all the effort you've put into your Branding Al I have to say the correct choice for the new land name is "LUMNAH ACREAGE." An "acreage" is defined as "an area of land, typically when used for agricultural purposes." It can mean one acre but it almost always means a large farm. And it sounds distinct from acres even though it somewhat means the same thing though acres lacks that " traditionally for farm use" understanding since it is more predominantly used as a unit of measurement. Like when you announced you bought the land you said "we bought over 500 acres" even though saying "we bought an (X square meter of X square mile) acreage" would have been just as accurate. And lastly we would all know what you meant any time you said "we need to head up to the acreage to work on the outhouse" as you usually refer to where you currently live as "the homestead." And when you're anywhere else and say "gotta get back to Lumnah Acres" or "gotta get back to the homestead" we would still know what you meant. Personally I think with all your work to create the brand Lumnah Acres you should just call the new property "the acreage" until you build a house and move into it and sell your current homestead because at that point you would no longer need to make a distinction between the two and you could easily just refer to the new property as "the homestead" and continue building the Lumnah Acres brand the entire time with no transition. Building a brand is hard and Lumnah Acres is a good and recognizable one. And I can't imagine you changing the channel name. So I'd stick with it and just give the new property the nickname of the acreage. Cheers!
Since you have beavers, I was thinking Beaver Creek Acres, but I really love two of the other's: Wilderness Acres and The Woodlands. No matter the name, it will fit I'm sure. The build is off to a good start. Looking forward to more adventures with the Lumnah family.
i understood once that bevers plug a river because they want raise the water level to have entrance of their home below the water level.. so raising the water level might help them from plugging the culvert..
you could do with a small cabin up on the new place with a wood burner , and then if you get too cold you could retreat into it for a hot drink and warm up before getting back to work xx Im very excited to see how your new place evolves .
The hens aren't laying because they're having to walk through "the valley of the Shadow of Death" to get to their pen now.... all the Chicken cones for harvesting hanging there as you walked by, lol 😂😬😂😉
Al: A blue sky thought from the old guy. To the side of the fire pit a 'U' shape shelter open to the fire. 6- 6'x6' fence panels ( 2x4 frame and boards ). 2-8' 4x4's one between the legs of the 'U' panels to support a 12' 4x4 for the ridge of a tarp roof. A 12' 2x6 beam across the top of the open end of the 'U' shelter. 2- 12' 1x2's to be screwed to the 2x6 beam and the top of the 2- 6x6 rear panels. The tarp roof could be 6 mil plastic on tight sash cord rafters 1' OC. 1x4 sub facia could support the gable end of the plastic roof secured with 1x2 strips screwed to the 1x4's. The plastic roof would have a 4/12 pitch or with 10' posts an 8/12 pitch for snow load. All components can be repurposed as animal shelters, mini greenhouse, screening, fencing etc. or broken down and the materials reused. the old guy Bert

Cool, someone didn't like beaver acres. They have been in America from the beginning. Still here today. Give them some respect, they are very intelligent creatures.
We sell vacant land that can be developed into a residential area. Surely our customers would love this video to get some ideas on how to start. Thanks for this video!
You can "end" screw all those blocks if you start the screw right next to the prior block and angle the screw towards the middle of the block you are installing. Or, stager/offset the block the thickness of the wood. Yum !!! That lasagne looked "Scrumptious" !!!
Good morning from East Morton on the edge of Ilkeley Moor in Yorkshire Dales, England. Over here a property that size on the moors would be known as an estate. The definition in the dictionary is "an extensive area of land in the country, usually with a large house, owned by one person or family. Suits your situation to a tee. Therefore 'Lumnah Estate'. Got a nice ring to it don't you think?
I suggest you have a back trap door for removing the bucket, in your potty. It would be much easier to do that way, and your fire pit doesn't need to be dead level, so rain flows away. Love the new place! You can have running water, with a ram pump really easily. so many possibilities! Lumnah Too Acres! or just The 500!
"oooo...what a nice , different, fresh wood! Lets chew on it and drag it into the dam " I know nothing about beavers I just like your "vision " :-) :-)
Also my Father fenced in 40/50 acre pastures and named each. Some names came from the people he bought the land from. Others just got names from something that happened on the land.
Best wishes for clearing out more pesky beavers Al. That will be a very nice facility for the girls to use, and You too! The fire pit will be fantastic for cooking and keeping warm while you are working on location. Maybe you could name the new location "Beaver Run" or "ACRES A.G.O." for Al, Gina, Olivia!
Do you ever wonder if you're training the beavers to not be there, or if the beavers are training you to build the dam higher by throwing the sticks on top? For my own situation, occasionally I'll cut up an apple for the chickens to keep them quiet in our neighborhood. I wonder if they may actually be training me to bring them an apple!!! I'm learning a ton from you guys and others like you. Thank you. :-)
Remember if u put used motor oil on and wood in contact with the ground it’ll make it last twice as long it’s a bit late on your pull around potty 🚽! And it looks really well built it’s a great shelter in case and lunch break room a place to get out on the wind ! I’d make one of wall hanging tiny wood stoves the warm it up inside ! And too keep coffee or warm up a soup or stew !

Lumnah Aces here too.. Just adding to what you already started. Can you clear and farm some of that land? That's a lot of area. You could grow grass hay, corn, feed ect. and even sale some.
I think you should really tear down the dam because when you just open up a little even tho it is less work for you in a week would pay off to just broke it completely because this way it is easy for the beavers to fix it ... Thanks for the grat videos love your channel keep it up
You might be able to increase your egg production by putting a couple of those LED battery powered nite lights in the hen house. Turn them on at dusk and off in the morning to save battery life. My Grandparents kept chickens and had an egg sales route each weekend. They left the lights on all night claiming that it made for greater production.
''the property'' is what we called the 20 acres that was our family's camping, hiking, picnicking get away and later, when sold, was the basis for my Mom's financial security into her 90s. lt is now a housing tract - that's CA for you.
A good way to have the beaver move on is to break a hole in the dam, go deep enough then put a 4 inch drain pipe. Make sure the inlet is as far as possible from the dam so they won’t know how to plug it. They will plug the top at the dam but the water level will stay down.

@@zetuskid not true, in 30 seconds i found 163 listings of 500-750 acres for $500k or less with the cheapest being $63k for 640 acres

Let’s call it the “DAM” property

Too funny! lol

In British English, a bog is both a swampy area, and a slang term for toilet, so perhaps Lumnah's Bog may suit!
Or OutHouse in the OutBack! :-)
Hahaha! That's cute
If you take scrap board and put measurements on it and a max line and stick them in you beaver ponds to see if they are rising even in rainy season.
This is going to probably sound a little too obvious and on the nose but considering all the effort you've put into your Branding Al I have to say the correct choice for the new land name is "LUMNAH ACREAGE."
An "acreage" is defined as "an area of land, typically when used for agricultural purposes." It can mean one acre but it almost always means a large farm.
Cheers!
This is the best one ive seen yet
We must supply the necessities. Thoughtful of you to do it. The fire will also be appreciated many cold and wet days. Onward progress. Blessings
'The Property' is a great name. Understated with a pretense of finery.
Yup... there's an establishment in the Boston region that is so exclusive it's just called "THE Club". 😉
@@faithrada Yep...just say it, We're going to The Property...and a chorus of angelic voices sing....ahhhhhhhhhh....
Food looks delicious! I'm glad you're making an outhouse and fire pit! I would call the new place Lumnah Forest Farm!
For the timebeing just call it “ New Lumnah City”
or New Lumnah Acres

Since you have beavers, I was thinking Beaver Creek Acres, but I really love two of the other's: Wilderness Acres and The Woodlands. No matter the name, it will fit I'm sure. The build is off to a good start. Looking forward to more adventures with the Lumnah family.
Lumnah Projects,
good idea to build a storage/workshop out there next.
Every time Al says "we're heading up to the projects" half the new audience will think he's a slumlord that owns a housing project. LOL 😹
@@RemedialRob I said that cause of all the future "projects" he is going to be doing there.
i understood once that bevers plug a river because they want raise the water level to have entrance of their home below the water level.. so raising the water level might help them from plugging the culvert..
Morning Al
How about Lumnah woods or Gina's ridge, or Olivia park. Just a few
Morning All
Your daughter will inhert the property so my suggestion is let Olivia name the property.
Like all just a suggestion.

you could do with a small cabin up on the new place with a wood burner , and then if you get too cold you could retreat into it for a hot drink and warm up before getting back to work xx Im very excited to see how your new place evolves .
The hens aren't laying because they're having to walk through "the valley of the Shadow of Death" to get to their pen now.... all the Chicken cones for harvesting hanging there as you walked by, lol 😂😬😂😉
hahahahha-that's funny :-) :-)
Love watching your videos there is always something to do and your doing it by yourselves and Gina supper always looks great
Al: A blue sky thought from the old guy.

Hi Folks, I enjoy your projects and your vision of self sufficiency. Since you are expanding your flocks and acreage, I suggest, Woodstock, as a consideration. Keep on living your dream. God Bless
How far is the ,"property" from the homestead?
I don't think you will get an answer. I ask about 5 times and other people have ask and no answer. Must be a secret.
I would not answer because of security. They are already taking a chance putting their home on the internet. It's comman sense people.
It can't be far since they go just about every day.
If the Canadian border is closed due to Covid-19, not sure they can cross. My family in Michigan cannot get into Canada to their cabin.
Love your videos. It would be nice to see a Q&A video where you and Gina sit and talk to the camera and answer some of the questions about your plans for the new property as many people have been asking the same things over and over. Even Olivia can voice her wish list for the new place. God bless.
Al, you have a hard workin' woman there. Don't take her for granted.
Looking forward to all the projects on your new property congratulations well done
Castor lane Acres ,Castor is Latin for beaver
Yeah
Cool, someone didn't like beaver acres. They have been in America from the beginning. Still here today. Give them some respect, they are very intelligent creatures.
"Castor creek" it's catchy
Castor means beaver in Spanish too
But the Beavers are neither, Latin, nor Spanish!
We sell vacant land that can be developed into a residential area. Surely our customers would love this video to get some ideas on how to start. Thanks for this video!
Hi Al how about using parts of your family names like ALGIVIA FARM or ACRES
I suggested that a while back but now I forget what it was hahahah AGO something...... hahaha. Long AGO Acers ???
Sounds Italian 🤗👍
AGO Land??
As hard as they work on it, it should be an estate!
I just had a thought, won't the beaver give the outhouse/shed a chew test being near that pond? Just curious. I know little about beaver.
"oooo...what a nice , different, fresh wood! Lets chew on it and drag it into the dam "
I know nothing about beavers I just like your "vision " :-) :-)
Probably 😃
Also my Father fenced in 40/50 acre pastures and named each. Some names came from the people he bought the land from. Others just got names from something that happened on the land.
Your first investment should be a sawmill!
Why did the Walton’s pop in to my head? Lol
Thank you. :-)
🤣
Remember if u put used motor oil on and wood in contact with the ground it’ll make it last twice as long it’s a bit late on your pull around potty 🚽! And it looks really well built it’s a great shelter in case and lunch break room a place to get out on the wind ! I’d make one of wall hanging tiny wood stoves the warm it up inside ! And too keep coffee or warm up a soup or stew !
If I was Olivia, hanging out all day, I'd be flying the drone around.
You read my mind Bob D.
Exactly. 👍 Maybe give her some goals like trying to find dams, flooded roads or pathways.
Can't do that very long, the batteries run out really quickly
Olivia should be helping with the projects more

Lumnah Aces here too.. Just adding to what you already started. Can you clear and farm some of that land? That's a lot of area. You could grow grass hay, corn, feed ect. and even sale some.
I THINK OLIVIA MAY HAVE ENJOYED FISHING IN YOUR POND WHILE YA WORKED ON THE OUTHOUSE....MAYBE NEXT TIME. LOVE FROM NC
Wow !! You can have your pick of any of the trees for your Christmas tree I would love that
I think you should really tear down the dam because when you just open up a little even tho it is less work for you in a week would pay off to just broke it completely because this way it is easy for the beavers to fix it ...

That's so sad.
@@robinbales6832 We have relocated to the Ozarks, and see the same pattern of housing tracts that we did in our once so lovely CA. sigh
A good way to have the beaver move on is to break a hole in the dam, go deep enough then put a 4 inch drain pipe. Make sure the inlet is as far as possible from the dam so they won’t know how to plug it. They will plug the top at the dam but the water level will stay down.
