I'm an older lady now. I didn't realize that what you've built is exactly what my life has needed all these years of living on the grid. Looking at your video has been therapeutic for me to say the very least. If I could turn back the hands of time...what you have is what I'd pray for.
What a beautiful, peaceful, blessing.🙏🏾
Lovely words, I think so many of us miss the real meaning of being here for the short time we are, this guy has found true happiness, doing what he loves and believes in. It’s never to late to inspire others x
Amen♥️
That is exactly what I was thinking!
I know where you are coming from. This is my dream but sadly it will always be a dream.

this guy is so humble down to earth and shows what true accomplishment is about. He built his own house from the ground up. Congrats to him he deserves respect its beautiful
House?
He basically built himself a town!
Yes 🙂
Comment from Queensland, Australia. Kris (and Dot) are the types of self-reliant, self-motivated pioneering spirits that enhance the human race. His industry, focus and determination to make something is beautiful to watch. I can only only hope that they are happy together and take pleasure in his (their) accomplishments. Make no error it is hard work and the rewards are coming. Well done.

This guy is a national treasure. Best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
As another Irishman, so agree!
As someone who once spoke to an Irishman online, I also concur!
I agree

As a 1/2 Irishman, born in Dublin, raised in Brooklyn, NY, mostly Italian, yeah, I can go with ‘dat.
This is paradise living where nature shines in all of its glory. I am not there in person but by just looking and listening I feel such peace. Imagine no noise of city cars, buses, trains, people, and aircraft taking off. No GMO food to eat and no chlorinated water. I love it, love it, love it. I hope one day I can experience that kind of peace here on earth.
Until a major catastrophe happen, other than that pretty cool

One of the most beautiful houses ever. Your skills & tenacity are astounding. Thank you for posting.
I'm jealous of anyone seeing this for the first time and has all those build videos to now watch!
Watch them again...😉
Watching them again also brings in funds for Kris. As At this point I can't be a patron, I sometimes go back and watch the older ones which I enjoy and it's nice to know that in my small way I get to help out Kris, Dot, Puss, chickens and sheep!
I'm hoping that they will get some ducks some day. I also wonder how they would feel about an outdoor kitchen with an oven via Shawn James of My Self Reliance. I'm working on one of my own now. Blessings on you and your family and friends and any livestock you might have wandering around the house and yard!
I have watched some again but it's not the same when you know how it pans out as watching for the first time. :) I'm jealous of the experience they will get because I know how good this series of builds are.
Agree, it's incredible how much Kris has done in five years. Such hard work too. Kudos, Kris, and best of luck with your turbines.
I'm amazed that it's been only five years, it feels longer somehow, so much has happened.
A nice reminder of all the effort and planning that went into the last 5 years, Kris - you're looking more relaxed and confident than I've ever seen you.
The hydro-electric turbine setup, the dam, flume and shed with the little output creek are amazing. Super comfortable setup you’ve made for yourself. I can’t imagine how much work this all took and how much you’ve learned! You’re a badass.
I agree the hydroelectric setup is particularly impressive!
100% agree that hydro-electric setup is amazing,I think he's going to start a business with what he learned installing his hydro-electric setup!
It's amazing the amount of work you can accomplish when all you have is time.
It took lots of guts to do what you did. Kudos to you young man. You obviously have a talent that 90% of people can only dream about. In time you'll get the urge to build a better one. Then another, even more impressive one. This stuff gets in your blood. This lifestyle will let you know what you're made of for sure. Mother nature has no stake in whether or not you survive. This is your show. You are the author, the director and the star. Keep going. I have a feeling we are going to be hearing more from you in the future. Forestry, hydro-electrics, carpentry, solar, structural engineering?????
This is what freedom looks like.
This is an exceptionally rich man.
Another guy (Richard Hall) in Wales has done similar but from a domestic house, as he said moving out into the countryside like Kris was too hard a task for him at his age. However it shows what can be done to go off-grid, by just using a cheap old house in an urban area. ruclips.net/video/jrnRI5CH10I/видео.html
If this is a "One Planet" development you should read the criteria you have to meet from the government to live like this. Not my idea of freedom.
@@pressurelamps Are you talking mainly about permitting? I imagine the rules will vary dramatically depending on where exactly you are in the world. And even where you are within individual countries. What would you call freedom?

This is by far bar none. The best off grid living situation I have ever seen . And I have seen a multitude of them . You are a very ingenius young man . Looking forward to more from you. From Arizona USA.
I would have to agree. And I've seen many too. 👍
Have you watched the "My Self Reliance" channel here on YT? It's a bit different but worth checking it out!
He never talked about his home made wind turbine that he built
This is quite honestly one of the coolest projects I've ever seen
A Lannister built it
I for real shed a tear how beautiful of a human being your are. Also what you’ve created this master piece of a life you’ve created from scratch. I’ve never seen anything like this ever or explained the way you have. WOW!
I feel the same!
Good for you, young man! Great to see all the work you've done. I lived off-grid for at least 25 years of my life, on a remote ranch in BC, Canada. Raised most of our own food and homeschooled our 6 kids, now adults with their own families.
Love to see young people still doing this! Cheers and God Bless!
What’s it like? It’s my dream to do this but I have to wait till my kids grow up, they’re 13 and 19 so I’m nearly there, a few more years and I’m moving to outback Australia. Everyone always says I’ll be lonely and I won’t like it but I live in Sydney and I haven’t had a friend in nearly 20 years, I don’t go out with other people or anything, to me it sounds so peaceful and something that would be perfect
Not off grid of your using RUclips and internet lol the KGB will know where u are
@Kyushu Brit oh yeah, and probably good to get a health check. In Australia most of our land is unliveable so I’ll also have to find places with water. You have me excited and planning now 😂 thank you 🙏
@Kyushu Brit Going off grid doesn't mean your miles from civilisation, I'm sure a dentist is within 10 miles which is perfectly navigable with a rucksack, packed lunch and a prevailing wind
Amazing 🤩

I was thinking that as the video continued. Electrical, carpentry, knowledge of architecture, the list goes on, this is extremely impressive…
He obviously has a high IQ with things naturally coming to him. Most couldn't do everything he did for various reasons such as they aren't mechanically inclined and lack engineering skills, et cetera. This guy is above average and exceptionally extraordinary.
