My son died from brain cancer ten years ago May 22. This song always makes me bawl, but it's also so beautiful and cathartic. From one grieving Eric to another.
Girl don't worry about crying. I'm a 220 lb big truck driving cowboy hat wearing Texan and every time I hear this song I tear up like little girl with a skinned knee.
My nephew died at 10yrs old from brain cancer 9/1/2019 it's been 4 years. He was a twin and those boys were the reason I had gotten sober from heroin. MY FATHER had gotten me into Eric Clapton when I was young & once I got sober I found out Eric Clapton has been sober for years and many of his friends have passed from ODs. I'm lucky to be alive. I love this song for so may reasons❤
@@MdV1989 Possibly only those who have lost their child, or children, can comment upon that last point. Happiness being relevent to the moments. I cannot compare my losses to Eric's, as they're different circumstances...but I can empathise more easily than some, due to having lost twin babies, even though the differences are too great to compare, re their ages and how the losses occurred.
My wife was pregnant with our first son when the tragedy occurred- and being a musician myself and a lifelong Clapton fan, I was absolutely crushed by the news- Especially with my first child on the way. We named him Connor in honor of Eric Clapton's son.
As a guy who went through the same kind of situation that Eric went through, I can't listen to this song without at least my eyes watering up. I am a black metal big guy, who never shed a tear for many things, who most things from life is just "meh, that happens, life is what it is", but this song... This song gets me. Now, with a second 3 year old son, this music gets me even more, because I shed a tear for Eric's son, my first son and now my second son, for the joy of having him near me. Been a decade or more since I last listened to this song. And its power over me never diminished, not even one degree. Eric, I will raise my drinking horn to you tonight. And shed once again a tear for your boy, and my boys over my mead. It will taste a bit sour, but will be the best mead I've ever had. May the Gods keep you, your boy and my boys in their arms!
I could only imagine the pain this causes you, just reading your words was a punch to the gut for me and the heart, I'm truly sorry for your loss and the pain you live with. Music is one of those things that can unite us, heal us, and bring us comfort, even just for a couple minutes. We all know it can lift people up in the darkest of times and save lives. I think we might be cut from the same cloth, your words stating that you as a man never shed a tear for many things in your life also hit me, it's what's taught to us all from a young age, at home, playing sports, school, society in general. We're taught to push that down, you need to be strong for those we love, because that's what men do. I agree we need strong men, also crying in front of any of the women we love is a big no from all men. I'm not sure it's healthy to push that down, but it's definitely what's taught to all of us. I just had this talk with women in my family, they didn't understand. I found a song out by Dax called To Be A Man, came out 4 months ago, and a remix that's 2 months old, I showed it to them and tried to explain to them that it's true, wow did that hit home, I thought I broke them as they all cried and hugged me, I told them we do cry, you'll just never see it. I'd love for you to give it a listen. To Be A Man g.co/kgs/azcsBD Also may your horn of mead be a little sweeter today, for I know it'll be sweet when your sons of age. I will say a prayer for you and yours, keep at it sir.
Never be apologetic if there is anything to cry about the loss of a child is the number one reason I'm with you I lost my only child in 2006 at 8.5 years there will be a new day and none of the things that have happened here will matter anymore
Just as a note, the video is from the movie “Rush”, from 1991, in which this song was part of the soundtrack. But it’s out of context for what the song is really about. I remember when his son died, and it was absolutely heart-wrenching. Still is. I can’t listen to this song without tearing up.
No worries. I'm a 42 yr old man and I cry relentlessly when I hear this. I have a 7yr old boy and I would not want to go on living if I lost him. I couldn't imagine and I don't apologize or hide the tears. As TOOL says "We are are spirit, one breath, one word". We should all feel the pain and then we carry on.
Two years ago I lost my mom and dad. In my family we weren’t religious at all but when I listen to this song I wish some kind of heaven existed so, maybe I could hold their hands and hug them again some day…
Never apologize for showing empathy. The world needs more of it, truth be told. This performance is from his Unplugged concert on MTV, also on CD, and the entire show is pure gold. I can't encourage you enough to listen to or watch the whole thing. It's magic.
Oh the world has alot of empathy just to nonsense lol empathy has never been an issue for humans. We have the most of all other animals unfortunately ot leads to disaster
Life hasn't been easy for Eric Clapton. In various moments. He's explored them bravely, often through the intention behind his guitar picking, other times through words . In this case, is straight coherence: what would you play if not a lullaby for your kid. Hats off.
His story is an interesting one. It's really sad. His parents abandoned him with his grandparents, fell into drugs, was used by a lot of people. It's pretty sad
Often times, God brings his love to people through tragedy, his son went to heaven early, but God worked through Eric to bring a beautiful song to others as a reminder that life is short and to cherish those around you while you have them, his son is safe and in heaven, find joy for him!
@@charliebakerspen He also admitted to abusing and raping his wife Pattie Boyd during their 10 year marriage. Hard to find the song 'Wonderful Tonight' all that romantic after you learn it's about a woman he later raped...

Don't apologize for feeling. I used to sing that song to my son when he was little to put him to sleep. It was a nighttime ritual because he liked it and i guess the tune soothed him. I would cry because of the story behind it, but it made him happy. In 2021 my (now all grown up) son collapsed in my kitchen and was rushed to the hospital. He was diagnosed with leukemia. He survived and just this month celebrated 2 years in remission. However, most of 2021, through the chemo and hospital and oncology... the terror that i might lose him kept me at his hospital bedside as often as they would let me. (even through my own agoraphobia and covid restrictions (they bent the rules for us) and my own physical disability because EVERYTHING becomes inconsequential when your child is in danger, no matter how old. He was 26). I couldn't breathe, he was in a fog for the first two months while living in the hospital oncology ward fighting for remission. They said if, when he'd gotten up off the floor, he'd decided to go back to bed instead of the ER, I'd have lost him. The gut punch and terror i felt... it was like all the air was sucked from the room and I'd been sucker punched all at once. I wouldn't have survived losing him. Those who have lost a child and gone on...i am amazed at the strength. I don't think I'm that strong and i never want to find out. I know that i would have followed him very soon after. So this song has extra meaning and i cry so hard now. Harder than i ever cried over a song.
The most powerful line of the song to me was when he said, “because I know I don’t belong, here in Heaven” I have always been a Clapton fan and this song is a beautiful song. Having lost both my father and my wife this past year, it hits much harder than it used to. I cried too.
I usually don’t do comments...but in this case I am, if nothing else to give support to other parents who are missing their treasured children Long story short ...I also had to realize , it wasn’t my time yet ....and couldn’t go with her when she asked Much love to you all.... Hold your loved ones tight 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I'm a musician. I've played this song at many funerals. I'm always so grateful for how this song makes people so thoughtful and happy sad and empathic! Wonderful piece of art!
I can relate to this song, I lost my son too 6 months after we lost his mother....it's a life changing event that you never get over, the best you can do is accept it.
Bryan....so sorry...I lost a 38 yr old sister, hospitals fault. Then my mother died of a broken heart. Yea I can go to heaven at any time with this crazy world we live in today....
Awesome reaction, I will never understand how Eric was able to write and perform this song. He definitely has the strength that most people do not have, Including myself.
My heart goes out to him every time I hear this, and can't believe he can sing this thru without breaking down. I can't listen to it without tearing up. Bless you Conner!
Losing a child has to be one of the most painful experiences we can feel as human beings. My heart goes out to Mr. Clapton and every other parent whose life has been impacted with such a tragedy. It has been truly inspiring to me that after suffering the loss of his son, Mr. Clapton was able to direct his pain and grief into giving the world this song. I am blessed that all of my children are grown up now, alive and well. I know that if I had ever lost one, I would have withdrawn from the world and spiraled down into my grief and despair. I'm saddened by his loss, but am also happy that he had his art in which to channel his pain. I hope it helped comfort him.
Dear Aileen, I am so pleased you listened to Tears in Heaven. You really nailed it. You explained how it made you feel inside. This song was not supposed to come out, then Eric decided to let it out on a very limited edition. Now this song came out for everyone. It became one of the most iconic song ever. I lost my girl friend to cancer. In the last days we have listened to this song and it made me highly emotional. Up to the point that i told her that i would move Heaven up side down so i can be with her again. Once my girl friend crossed over the rainbow, she came back to me and told me that i wouldn't have to move Heaven up side down to find her as she mentioned that she was by my side, waiting for me. Special thanks for posting this.
Aileen, don't ever apologize for showing your emotions. This is a very moving and powerful song. How Eric can ever perform this song always amazes me. My wife and i saw Clapton in September of last year, seeing him perform this song live, or just hearing it always bring me to tears.
Aileen, don't apologize for your feelings! I cried too, while hearing the song. I first heard Tears in Heaven at the funeral of my uncle, back in 2018. I think of him whenever i hear this song. Don't apologize for showing your feelings! I work on being more open and less introverted, after having a health induced break and learning more about myself. I respect and admire people like you, who can show their feelings. People like you help me (and countless others) get trough life better than before. Thank you for this content! And to anyone reading this: Thank you for reading!
No need to apologize for your emotions and feelings. This song is so powerful, it still brings me to tears. Eric Clapton is such a great artist and song writer, his music is always hits home.
I remember seeing Clapton perform shortly after his son's tragic death. When he played Tears in Heaven,Ive never seen so many folks with tissues during his performance. People didnt know if they should cheer or clap after the song so they gave a respectful quiet applause. That was truly an emotional moment for everyone.
My dad told me about the tour where he politely told people it was his last time playing it live, that he had gotten what he needed out of it and it was now dragging him back with processing his grief. He hoped it would help others but he wasn't going to play it live again. My dad is a tough cookie but he got teary telling me about it. 😢

I'm sitting here crying just reading the comments. So many talking about a child they've lost. My God, you have shown me so much grace and mercy. Thank you for never putting this kind of pain, that so many feel, on me. Everybody, I'm so sorry that you have to have this kind of pain.
That's one of the most genuine and powerful reactions I've ever seen. Thank you so much for sharing a masterpiece with us and allowing us to see it again for the first time through you.
Yes, his son fell out of the window of a high-rise building. His son fell from the 53rd floor. I have two kids of my own and can not begin to imagine what he was going through when this song was written. Keep up the great work Aileen.
I'm an older man and father and have heard this song so many times and every time it brings tears to my eyes just as it did with you. I teared up with the song and your reaction. You are a good soul.
I’m younger then Eric Clapton’s original audience but still grew up as a big fan, in fact he is one of my all time favorites. I remember when the news of this tragedy broke and the music world and us fans really felt for him. I still till this day have never heard a more heartfelt and poetic song about the ultimate loss as this one. RIP Connor
Eric Clapton wrote in his autobiography the apartment was in a skyscraper and the windows were the whole walls. This day they were cleaned and then they put them high. When his son came in the apartment, he didn't know that and fell down.
Grammy’s for song of the year, and the album “Eric Clapton Unplugged,” for MTV was Album of the Year. There is an amazing documentary on Showtime of Eric’s entire biography, as told by himself and others. He’s very honest with both the good and the bad.
I just lost a family member a few hours ago. It's nice listen to this and release some of the emotions I'm feeling, especially being that this family member of mine, lost a young son not that long ago. "I must be strong and carry on". Clapton's music is brilliant. If you're going to dig in, might I suggest either starting with listening to his music with either the Yardbirds or Derek and the Dominoes or perhaps Cream. Maybe "Sunshine of Your Love" as an example. Then you can dig into songs like Cocaine.
I'm a 61 year old,.big man, and I can't hear this song without tearing up. Your reaction demonstrates that you're a compassionate human being. ❤ Hard to say where to start in his impressive catalog. He was in a few great bands in addition to his solo career. A good place to start is Layla by Derek and the Dominoes (Clapton sings and plays guitar along with Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers on slide guitar). Also from Derek and the Dominoes: "Bell Bottom Blues." Clapton also played guitar in the supergroup Cream (lead vocals were sung by bassist Jack Bruce). Some must-hear Cream songs include "White Room" and "Sunshine of Your Love." Solo career has spanned quite a few decades with many reaction-worthy songs. Love your channel. You're beautiful inside and out.
Aileen, It is your empathy and ability to connect with a song that brings people back time and time again. You don't need to apologize, everyone here is in one of two camps, either they're feeling it right along with you, or the wish they could feel anything at all.
What a beautiful heartfelt reaction, Aileen. ❤ I'm a 71-year-old American, who had the good fortune to spend my last three years of high school in London (1966-69). The Beatles were still rocking the world with each new album, The Who were playing local clubs as where the Stones. And Eric Clapton was a part of all of it, first performing with The Yardbirds and then with Cream. He was considered the greatest guitarist amongst all of those other greats. I would suggest "Layla," for a glimpse of his soaring guitar work and brilliant songwriting. It's a true story how about Eric trying to give support to Beatle George Harrison's wife, Patty Boyd who was devastated by her husband's cheating. But Eric fell madly in love with her and it was unrequited at first. He brought her to his home for her to first hear it in recorded form. He dubs her, "Layla." They later married.
Making this song definitely help Eric Clapton through his grieving the loss of his son ! My favorite song from Clapton is Bell Bottom Blues , I don’t know why but I love the very first note of the song , it just sets the tone for the rest of the song !
It's the sign of a great artist when he can touch listeners souls in this way. I can never hear this song without getting emotional. I sing and play acoustic guitar, I love this song but I would never try to play it in public, as I don't believe I could get through it without breaking up and embarrassing myself. How Eric manages to do it is unbelievable.
Emphaty is a great value and I talk to you as an emphathetic person myself, I cried on this song too. You don't have to be ashamed with yourself just for showing your true colors. This makes you a true and beautiful human beeing. Cheers and a big hug from a city near Milan...
As always Aileen, don't apologize for feeling. You're just feeling what a sincere well written song it is. Given what it was written about, it feels wrong to say it's one of his best, but it's definitely one of his most honest songs. Great reaction!
I love this song. It breaks my heart every time I listen to it, especially knowing the backstory. The movie scenes interspersed in the video is from the 1991 movie Rush. I would recommend: “Layla”, and “Wonderful Tonight”. He has so many classic songs from the time he was with the band “Derek and the Dominoes”, or with the band “Cream”, or as a solo artist.
Being an Eric Clapton fan from 1972 and seeing him in concert 4 times and then knowing this happened and how he endured and handled this is amazing. A true "Greatest of All Time" artist. The only 3 time inductee to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And for him to be able to pour his heart out like this is on another different level of humanity. We can all learn lessons from this man. Thanks.
Never apologize for crying or being emphatic towards others. When a song or moment can move you to tears, it's a beautiful moment. So congratulations on that moment you had.
I'm glad that you are empathetic to the sorrow that Eric had to endure. That just shows how down to earth you are and what love is in your heart. Thank you for doing this.
I love 'honest' musicians who have something to say. Eric is without a doubt one of them. I love his dialogues between his voice and his acoustic guitar. ... Please never apologize for having a compassionate heart, because this is something very precious. 🤗👏👍👍
I remember hearing about it in New York while working on the 17th floor in the Engine room of rockerfeller center. Ray the Engine pointed to building from the high rise and i just stared and felt sad looking at the builing.
Am a survivor of the fifties and sixties, have listened to Eric Clapton since his early days with the Yardbirds. Saw him live with Cream, with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. The story was he had a care keeper taking care of his son in that tragic day, and always feel his sadness when I see him play. In the 'Concert for George' in 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall in memory of his friend George Harrison, with Gary Brooker, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty, Ringo and Paul McCartney. That was a beautiful heartfelt concert organized primally by him..
He's a 3 time Rock n Roll Hall of Fame inductee....Cream, Derek and the Dominoes, and as a solo artist. He was also there when George Harrison wrote "Here comes the sun" after a night of serious partying...He's a living legend...
False. Yard birds, cream and solo. Derek and the dominos, (an accidental title attributed to an MC's introduction error, they were Eric and the dynamos) were never inducted
Great reaction!! I suggest you look more into his live performances, specially back in the 60s-70s when he used to slay the guitar. Here are some songs: Bluesbreakers - Have you ever loved a woman, Stormy Monday, Stepping out, Hideaway Cream ALL LIVE - NSU, Im so Glad, Sweet Wine, Stepping out, Spoonful, Crossroads, White Room, Sitting on the top of the world Derek and the Dominos - Why does love got to be so sad LIVE, Let it Rain LIVE and Anyday Blind Faith - Can’t find my way home and Presence of the Lord live at hyde park
Never apologize for showing your true feelings to a song that honors the sadness of Eric's pain in losing his son Connor. The way he plays the guitar to me sounds like someone who is crying but as he said, writing and performing this song is what eventually got him through his loss. I'm glad I came across your channel as seeing your reaction is what made me subscribe. You sincerely seem like you have a beautiful soul!
A beautiful song dedicated to his son Conor. Conor was playing hide and seek with the live-in Nanny in a high rise in New York. She followed him into the room. The janitor there had opened the window to clean it. She stopped to hear him say the full length window door, was open. Conor ran straight thru and he fell from the 53rd floor, 18 floors to his death landing on a canopy. His partner Lori never got over this, and it ended their relationship
it's been along time since i have heard this, but i remember hearing the lyrics and thinking he was saying that the sense of loss and depression was deep enough that he would want to "join" his son, but that ultimately, he realized it was not his time, that the time would come and he didn't belong there yet. there is still hope in such a sad song as well, having the faith that pain no longer exists in heaven. one of the most powerful and beautiful songs.
Conor Clapton fell from a 53 story window in New York City in 1991. He was 4 years old. EC was in NYC at the time and rushed to the scene...this song is the result. The video is from the movie Rush (1991), the song was used as part of the soundtrack. The movie is about a drug addict which didn't get a lot of public acclaim, but it's worth a watch. Coincidently, the movie casts Gregg Allman (of the Allman brothers), who EC knew well. The song was written by Eric Clapton and Will Jennings.
My father would drink and play the song and he would cry. He lost one of his first children from his first wife. When he was only 3 years old. It wrecked my father. He turned to drinking and his first wife left him. He then met my mother and had my sister and I But he was never the same from what I heard after losing his child. And this song every time I hear it it makes me think of those sad moments. But even Sadder now because my father passed away because of alcohol destroying his body and he had a stroke.
I am sorry for your journey. My brother was killed in a car accident he was 20, the age of the chuld doesn't matter, My mom still can't look at his pictures, but what happened is my father turned to his 4 kids and had to be closer, mom was already invested in all us kids. When pops passed 4 years ago at 85, he had dementia but even in his dementia the only thing he would ask us is if we were alright. His kids were his world, I went down a dark path but now am 21 years sober and mom's 90 and us kids call her everyday and I see her at least once a week. She is still in good shape and drives so she is a tough old farm girl. I am her comic relief daily. I just have a strange outlook on life I guess I am normally abnormal. My brothers death was like a knife to our family, but it did teach us to hold on closer to each other. Love doesn't have to be the mushy stuff it just means you are there for each other. My lesson was, you can hold on to the anger ot you can let it go and accept the help of those reaching out to you. There will be a change because one of those 2 things will not allow the other to happen.
Don't apologize, Aileen, we all cried along with you. 😪 The funny thing about blues is that it can break your heart or make you get up and dance! I add my suggestion that you try Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight", the live version is magnificent!!! Footnote....I lost my son just before his 1st birthday due to his mother's alcoholism causing an accident. I tried to support my wife through that nightmare, but she walked out on me as well. Took a long time before I could be around people after that. I owe my guitar and Paul Simon's Guitar Study Center (actually his brother's school) for helping me learn to live again after that. ❤😇
That song always gets me, anyone who doesn't feel anything has no soul especially after knowing the significance of the song of how young his son was and how tragically he passed away
I’ve heard this song so many times through my life and just enjoyed the music and melody. I’m 37 and lost my wife 7 months ago. Now, when I hear it, the first line of this song just starts tears rolling immediately
I was five and heard this my dad told me what it’s about I cried more knowing his son wasn’t that much younger than me. That was my introduction to Eric Clapton and he’s arguably one of the best class acts to ever do it!
Never apologize for being the caring spirit you are Senpai! Music unlocks a box of emotions that truly resemble who we are within.. Eric Clapton is truly a gem and this song meant so much, always hits anyone who hears this song (ofc with the context behind it) means a lot.
Best song ever. The first five words ‘would you know my name’ hits you like a knife. I can feel the pain in his voice. Everyone who hears this song will surely cry or at least shed a tear.
The scenes in that video are from an excellent but very sad movie called "Rush" of which this song was included on the soundtrack. It stars one of my favorite actresses Jennifer Jason Leigh. Having watched that movie several times and watching those scenes made me remember how sad it was as well as how sad the song is.
Watching you get emotional over such a beautiful song is adorable to see... I loved a beautiful girl who couldn't get emotional except for anger, she had been hurt as a child, i could never really reach her. Knowing girls like you are out there, is comforting. I know it may sound corny, but your eyes remind me of her. Thank You for doing these videos.
There is a long forgotten beautifully sad song by Led Zeppelin called All Of My Love, which was written by Robert Plant who was still mourning the untimely sudden death of his 5y old son Karac. For me and many music fans, this song and Tears In Heaven share that common theme. All of My Love is on the In album titled Through The Out Door. You may want to consider reacting to this heart-felt song as well. It always brings a tear to my eyes and is also one of the most beautiful touching tributes from a father to his son. Thank you for reacting to Tears In Heaven and I hope you consider giving All of My Love a reaction as well.
Never apologize for having empathy. As soon as the first few notes played I saw the change in your facial expression and your reaction honestly made me tear up. This is the first video I've watched of yours, and I'll likely watch more. You can tell you are a good person with a big heart.
My dad showed me this song when it came out, i was still pretty young then. It teared me up as a kid, and i'm pretty sure it did him as well. But after that he told me the story of what happened to eric claptons son. This is a song that wrenches tears from stone. Its not just your normal empathy here, its how personal and sincere the song is even when you know nothing of where it comes from. I dont know any other song that feels this real and true. Its always been something special.
This song is hard for me to listen to. I was a single father when my daughter who had just turned 16 gave birth to a son. 3 months later he died a tragic death. I get a little hyper vigilant these days with my grandchildren.
Aileen, two years after Eric's son Connor died, he went on tour. I saw him live in Pittsburgh, PA and when he performed "Tears In Heaven", all you saw were thousands of little Bic lighters burning in honor of little Connor. It was a surreal moment. I wish you could have been there, Aileen...

Doesn't the right to be a huge racist
To Be A Man g.co/kgs/azcsBD
Also may your horn of mead be a little sweeter today, for I know it'll be sweet when your sons of age. I will say a prayer for you and yours, keep at it sir.
I will raise my drink for you, your loved ones and your life tonight. I hope sun is shining in your life today.
THERE'S ONLY ONE GOD AND HIS NAME WAS JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, THE KING OF KINGS, THE MESSIAH.
NOT gods JUST GOD CHRIST JESUS ALMIGHTY.
Never apologize for showing your emotions, Aileen. It shows your true beauty❤. Your amazing!! Thank you😢
Well said. She's an empath and it's a special, beautiful gift.
Thank you, I completely agree with you. I love the song and the performance but don’t care for the video.
Great Movie !
@@billspivey6919 It is a great movie. Jason Patric was amazing in that film.
Thanks for that info - I was gonna post a comment asking what movie those scenes were from (assuming this song appears on its soundtrack).
ty for saying the movie title. that movie is an emotional freight train and hits like one.
Eric Clapton is one of the best guitar players ever. Famous for that.
Scott....well you would have to live for yr son.
I can seldom make it through this whole song. 42 here as well.
Two years ago I lost my mom and dad. In my family we weren’t religious at all but when I listen to this song I wish some kind of heaven existed so, maybe I could hold their hands and hug them again some day…
Heaven is REAL!
One year ago, i lost my wife, today its her first birthday in heaven and i sing this song every day- thanks eric!

This song always hits like a ton of bricks because it's factual, its raw, it's from a dark place emotionally.
@@carn9507 yeah, not to mention his racist outbursts at concerts and his anti-lockdown, anti-vax stand. He may be good at song writing and guitar playing, but that doesn't change the fact that he's a horrible human being
I still feel his pain today. That song still brings me to tears. One day Eric will see his son again, when he joins him. Bless his sweet child. ❤❤❤❤
This is one of the most emotional songs ever written. Dont be afraid to show your feelings.
The most powerful line of the song to me was when he said, “because I know I don’t belong, here in Heaven”
I have always been a Clapton fan and this song is a beautiful song. Having lost both my father and my wife this past year, it hits much harder than it used to. I cried too.
Wow Sean, I’m so sorry for your losses.
Sorry for your loss bro
I usually don’t do comments...but in this case I am, if nothing else to give support to other parents who are missing their treasured children
Long story short ...I also had to realize , it wasn’t my time yet ....and couldn’t go with her when she asked
Much love to you all....
Sorry for your loss my friend
“I’d take everyone’s pain away if I could” ❤ that!
Awesome reaction, I will never understand how Eric was able to write and perform this song. He definitely has the strength that most people do not have, Including myself.
This is why he loves to cover "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles. He expresses his emotions through his guitar
I cannot imagine what he was feeling performing this song live for the first time.
Dear Aileen,
I am so pleased you listened to Tears in Heaven.
Truly one of the most well written and emotional songs of all time. 😢
Do you know is there any video from that concert? That must had been super emotional moment.

This is one of those songs that goes straight to the heart and cuts you with its beauty.
Well said.
Yes, his son fell out of the window of a high-rise building. His son fell from the 53rd floor. I have two kids of my own and can not begin to imagine what he was going through when this song was written. Keep up the great work Aileen.
Exactly.
When his son came in the apartment, he didn't know that and fell down.
losing a child is something that you'll never be able to get over. Such a beautiful tribute to his son, timeless, mesmerizing.
Grammy’s for song of the year, and the album “Eric Clapton Unplugged,” for MTV was Album of the Year. There is an amazing documentary on Showtime of Eric’s entire biography, as told by himself and others. He’s very honest with both the good and the bad.
Your humanity is refreshing, nothing to be ashamed of or apologize for. Bless you for being a kind and empathetic soul.
“Wonderful Tonight” is as romantic as this is a tear-jerker.
Don't apologize for empathy, the world needs a lot more of it.
Aileen, It is your empathy and ability to connect with a song that brings people back time and time again. You don't need to apologize, everyone here is in one of two camps, either they're feeling it right along with you, or the wish they could feel anything at all.
One of the most emotionally charged songs I have ever heard. The lyrics are soul touching.
What a beautiful heartfelt reaction, Aileen. ❤
I'm a 71-year-old American, who had the good fortune to spend my last three years of high school in London (1966-69).
He has so many classic songs from the time he was with the band “Derek and the Dominoes”, or with the band “Cream”, or as a solo artist.
i love that this song does not reference anyone specific, so it remains open for people to connect to the lyrics about their own loss.
Another Clapton song that gets me is, "My Father's Eyes.". Worth a listen as well.
Derek and the Dominos was never added to the hall of fame. He was for his work with the Yardbirds though.
He also played the solo in the Beatles While my Guitar Gently Wheeps
@@Antimedal i stand corrected, total brain fart on my part

Cream ALL LIVE - NSU, Im so Glad, Sweet Wine, Stepping out, Spoonful, Crossroads, White Room, Sitting on the top of the world
Derek and the Dominos - Why does love got to be so sad LIVE, Let it Rain LIVE and Anyday
Blind Faith - Can’t find my way home and Presence of the Lord live at hyde park
As a fellow crier, you don't need to make any apologies.
I love your channel because of your humanity. ❤
Aileen you're amazing. I admire you can say anything after the song in this state of emotions. We're crying together...
His music can truly touch the heart if you get a chance you look wonderful tonight is a another great song
You are so precious. saying you wish you could take everybody's pain away. You are truly such a real genuine sweetheart.
That song always gets me, anyone who doesn't feel anything has no soul especially after knowing the significance of the song of how young his son was and how tragically he passed away

Great movie! based on a true story.
This song brings me back to early 90s at the roller skating rink 😊

Strong of you to react to this song while knowing the story 💝💝💝
Please don't apologize for being emotional. It shows that you're an empathetic human being. Thank you for being a kind, feeling, beautiful person.
This track is sad and beautiful. Makes me cry every time. Music is so powerful. Thanks.
