Yep, I loved this song as I had lost my son too. The only thing though is I cannot IMAGINE how Alone and afraid his boy must have been as he was falling to earth! I only know that all children are ushered to Heaven instantly Being that they are so innocent!!! I hope Eric is comforted and recovered from grief like I am. I feel this song so much! It is ok to cry girl. I lost my wife to cancer when we were both 38 years old. I was left to raise my kids on my own. I could not really grieve at all because I had to be there for them. This song hit home. Almost 20 years later, my kids are grown, I have the best grandchildren ever. I’ve never remained at all. I still think and miss her every day. I love your videos.
This is a hard song not to be affected by, just shows you are human. When he performs this in concert it is much like the video, with only him performing it solo.
Clapton is an absolute legend and has produced some incredible music but this song is his absolute best. It's difficult for anyone who knows the back story to this song not to cry, even a little, when they hear it.
It's such a powerful song emotionally, and so beautifully written. That was a great reaction. I think it brings a tear just about anyone's eye when they actually sit and listen to it and know the backstory. 💚
Eric got a call from New York, when on the road ... his little toddler son had climbed up a chair onto the window sill .... fell out the apartment some stories to his death .... that was so heartbreaking for us all back then ...... imagining what it would be for Eric Clapton is incomprehensible !!! The song, no doubt, is his way of working through the tragedy. Most beautiful indeed.
I remember when this tragedy happened, so sad. I'm a 67 year old guitarist and a big Classic Rock fan from the 1970s. Eric Clapton was one of our heroes back then, along with many other Rock guitarists att. A person must somehow find an inner strength to carry on, it's the worse thing that could possibly happen to a parent.
My life is fine, I’m fine, and I’m still crying. What a beautiful tribute.

Diane,
You are NOT the only one who cries when seeing and hearing this.. What a GUT punch. As you may already know Eric was a drinker and BIG time doper back in the day. YET he stayed straight when this tragic event happened... Rips your heart OUT!!!!
Keep in mind that feelings allow us to know we are still alive!!!! Take care lady.....
My son was 4 when this came out and I cried like a little girl every time I heard it
You Have a Beautiful Heart Beautiful Woman.. Hello from New Hampshire U.S.A. If you don't cry,You're not Human!! IMHO.. Great Reaction 😘😎👋
The way of your's reaction..,i may say it's still hope for our planet, big hello from Ljubljana ,Slovenia
If you don’t mind me saying so, your “crying face” looked so lovely. I could see the child inside you. Thank you.
It's a rare gift to be able to take an unspeakable tragedy and make something beautiful out of it.
And I wanted to say, don't worry about puddling up listening to that song. I know I do, every time I hear it.
😊
Thoroughly enjoyed Clapton in concert. Got to check something off my bucket list with that one.
Precious tears, sweet lady.
What tears lol
I did not see an ugly crying face. I saw the simple beauty of a tender heart expressed through tears.
Omg, long time ago I heard that song. Today I'm sitting here 48yo father of a son that just turned 5 and I can't stop crying!!!
I'm 77 and feel the same about my three grands...
There will be tears in Heaven; tears of joy & elation at being re-united with our loved ones. Tears of sadness for those who did not embrace their Savior when they had the time to do so and now are lost to us forever.🙏
It’s my reaction every time I hear it, really every single time!
This was a beautiful reaction! Thank you for your honesty, you are a real one!!!
I never goes away but Time heals as best it can if you only allow it to.
Saddest song ever written. As a father, its brutal. Rip
Very relatable.
As my grandma died in her sleep 2011, I had this on repeat...
I remember the photos of the tiny coffin at the funeral, image will never leave me. The heart break is unimagianable
I just found you. This song always, always makes me tear up. Following you now. Time to sit back and binge watch your videos. 👍👍
I’m the same way. Some songs just hit you differently. That being said, I cried happy tears hearing my favorite band live just because I was there and they were there and the music was stitched to my soul. Lol. And yes, I’ve cried to tv commercials. My daughters think I dont cry enough but for some reason love when I do. Lil monsters. Lol
And no, you’re “ugly cry face” is not at all ugly. Lol
Tribute songs are the hardest to handle. Vince Gill Go Rest High , Michael Martin Murphey I'm going to miss you girl , Gene Watson farewell party , there's more out there can't think of them but yeah the hardest to get through. Thanks for this one no it's still fresh even 30 years later, give or take.
This song makes anyone with a heart cry! Those of us who are parents get it extra hard. 😢😭
I love your honest and sincere empathy. 😢
god bless you, Diane. You can feel the passion and the hurt in Eric's voice. But you can also feel the healing as he sings this song. It has to be one of the top 10 songs of all time.
Just watched your reaction to Tears in Heaven. I can tell the video really touched you and thanks for showing your true emotions.
This is a hard song not to be affected by, just shows you are human. When he performs this in concert it is much like the video, with only him performing it solo.
That’s so pure 😭
Bless you girl
Clapton is an absolute legend and has produced some incredible music but this song is his absolute best. It's difficult for anyone who knows the back story to this song not to cry, even a little, when they hear it.
It's such a powerful song emotionally, and so beautifully written. That was a great reaction. I think it brings a tear just about anyone's eye when they actually sit and listen to it and know the backstory. 💚
For anyone who has lost a child or grandchild, this song is very special. RIP Anthony Michael. Tears for you.
