No editing, no processing, no auto-tune...just pure talent by three brothers who didn't sing *about* women, but sang TO them.
they didn't know what auto-tune was back then. you either had it and could sing or you didn't have it and couldn't sing. Because there was no auto-tune.
You said that well... most singers back then sang to the women... not about them! And about the 5 minute mark... her panties dropped. Proving your point.
They used other processing though
Agree with you, absolutely phenomenal. Their voices were not proccesed but the editing work was huge with more than 20 layers with their voices to create that incredible sound. One of the best ballads ever written.
@@josevi5835Yeah, there’s no way this couldn’t have some processing. Just too perfect. But nothing like what happens today. Auto-tuning is just so awful, and you can spot it a mile off. Total rubbish. Just learn to sing, goddammit. It’s your job.
Younger people are stunned by how good music used to be back in the day.
Honestly, they should be
@@OMyStarzyes, they really should be!
They have been robbed. It's effen criminal what has happened to music.
True, they have no idea what chicken tastes like when all they get shoved down their throat is nuggets.
As a person who’s grew up in these times all I have to say is that people who grew up during the late 60s to the early 80’s got to witness the best music that has ever been.
Back in 1978 they had REAL talent. Unlike today's "music".
People have real talent but they are not developed, music companies do not want to spend the cash to do so.
@@Mulberry2000 Yes, Satan runs music industry so there's a price to pay to "make it"... (your soul).
You Young lady, missed the greatest ERA of music ever produced, from the 60's thru the late 80's
Amen to that!!!
You know this is just fake and bad acting, do you?
good joke
Love watching women’s faces when they realise how love is meant to feel.
3 brothers who sang together since early childhood. Had hits over 5 different decades across the entire world. GOATS.
Goats for sure. They'll never be another.
ended up with the 4 brothers eventually
I'm 60 now and I've dance so many times with this music in the 70's and early 80's
GOATS of Disco.
Agreed.
27 layers of vocals, no autotune, pure magic.
And 18 layers of just Barry's vocals, & 9 with all three brothers together.🎼
Amen to that 🙏
Quit making the Bee Gees sound like a studio band! You obviously didn't see the “Spirits Tour” where they didn't use any tricks in the studio & was the real deal!
@@spudjohnsonn8122 Just stating facts on how this & most all music videos are recorded. Why hide the specifics on what we're hearing?!
@@spudjohnsonn8122”Spirits Having Flown” was a complex record that could have only been made *because* they were a phenomenal studio band (and production team). It was meticulously layered and crafted. They were also amazing on stage. Both things can be - and are - true.
The BeeGees didn't earn a dime from this song. They donated it all to UNICEF.
Knowing what the UN is today you would wonder how much of those proceeds got to those in need. We learnt a lot after Geldofs feed the world shenanigans. Multiple crises in the last few decades will prove that very little of all donations ever reaches those in need, the red cross are a perfect example of the corruption of charities.

Lilly, the thing is that during the 70's and 80' we were pretty much immersed and surrounded by this type of music and super talented performers, we were lucky! and, as an old timer, I love it that you love it! :)
Yes girlfriend. I am a 63yrs old African American grandma, and I am soooooo blessed to have had this music in my life. 🖤🖤🖤🎵🎵🎵. I still get goosebumps to this day. Extreme "More than words"

Life was so much better when we let music bring us together.
Facts. I am so glad I grew up in the 70s.
Beautiful times we’ve survived through. It’s not the same. But the memories we get to keep ❤️
The Bee Gees are from another planet. Even back in the day they were too good.

The Bee Gees the best of the best of all the time ❤

Great reaction! Quincy Jones said, "Those 3 brothers singing harmony is an instrument no one else has."
Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young could harmonize too! Quincy Jones put out a great album called The Dude.
Quincy didn't say that Noel Gallagher did.....

Good run! Enjoy your golden year friend!
Me also! We were very blessed with music then.

@@raye402 I'm only 4 years behind and I think we grew up through some of the best times ever
I feel the same way
Bee Gees were one of the greatest groups of all times.
True, as specific Bee Gee's songs, instantly brings up a memory, of where I was, or what I was doing when I first heard it!
Barry Gibb according to the Guinness Book of World Records is the second most successful songwriter and producer in music history, 3rd in the Billboard Hot 100, had 5 songs in the top 10 at the same time in the Spring of “78” and 6th in record sales. They could sing & play Rock, Folk, R&B, Country, and Gospel, unlike the Beatles who appealed to mostly Caucasians!!!! 5 decades of playing music, the Beatles were a short-lived band who just sold a lot of records, Lennon was an arrogant fool on the hill who compared their popularity to Jesus Christ, karma's a bi*ch, hey John.
The KINGS of Disco.
I always say that we had the best music ever in the 70s....so glad I was growing up in that decade
This is back when music artists actually had real talent, and it wasn't just the studio making them sound good. Notice they are all singing into the same microphone, so there's no mixing going on in the background, they are actually performing these vocals, and harmonies this perfectly, which is what the BeeGees were known for!
those were the days of real artis no auto tune pure talent
These are 3 brothers that sang together since they were children. It's purely second nature to them.
I’m closer to 70!than I am 60 and it’s a refreshing change to see a young lady who appreciates good music. X
I love seeing this young Lady's facial expressions when she hears how amazing the singers were.
3 brothers, one microphone.sibling harmony is the best.
Why were 3 people sharing 1 microphone when obviously they could have easily each had their own? The answer hearkens back to the times of the early 50's and 60's when performers such as Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the BeeGees etc. were in the early days of their careers and had not yet achieved their later financial successes and fame. In those early years, each microphone represented a significant financial cost to them. To reduce the number of microphones that were needed, musicians would often pair up on one microphone particularly those musicians providing vocal harmonies (in some cases 3 voices would converge on 1 microphone - The 3 BeeGee brothers - Robyn, Maurice and Barry did do this quite often and are a perfect example of this ... particularly in the above video recording of a live performance in a charity benefit concert of them performing their song "Too Much Heaven" ... a masterful use of 1 microphone shared by 3 people and with stunning result!). But to use one microphone effectively in this way required practice, practice and more practice and discipline wherein the needed skill and coordination of the performers would gradually be acquired. The closeness or proximity of each performer to the single microphone would determine the needed dynamics of each voice, moment by moment, throughout the performance and in itself represented an act of choreography. It was a practice primarily from the 60's when musicians had a significantly lesser amount of capital available for the acquisition of musical equipment that was needed. But, it was an approach that actually worked very well and because of that, performers from that era, still employ it often as a preference and are not quick to abandon it. FYI.
It's the 70's when artist actually had talent
"Words" - beat that.
The 60s was a launchpad for the 70s
Agree and I think the 80s was the last decade that artists still had talent.
@@robertdaone I always say Grunge killed Rock & Roll
@@lrmguitars1224and country killed music.
Not only did they write hit songs for themselves, they wrote hit songs for many other artists as well.
Exactly. Diana Ross' Chain Reaction comes immediately to mind. Such a great song.
Yes, Righteous Brothers, Bee Gees, and Hotel California (at 98 Hall of Fame Awards). There are a number of songs that you can name BEFORE THE first 8 bars are played. I was born in 1950 and had the distinct privilege and honor hearing all these songs and more over my lifetime. The Bee Gees STILL make me stop and that harmony is firm and strong enough (if electrically charged) to turn over a Semi Truck Engine. 🙂🙃😯💯❤💖👍
Beautiful!! Aren’t they fantastic? I was lucky enough to grow up during that era. Thanks!!
Real music, no auto-tune, pure talent.... the music I grew up with. The Bee Gees were just ONE of the groups that could do this.
One of the most beautiful love songs ever written.
The Bee Gees were special. Once in a life time talent.
I'm just so grateful that I grew up in the 70's. The soundtrack to the best years of my life❤
The BeeGees had 5 of the top 10 songs at one time. There will never be another BeeGees.
Your reaction when Barry hits those high notes is PRICELESS!
When a man can sing and make a woman blush is gold!
These brothers were driven from an early age to be successful musicians. Add to that their innate singing and songwriting abilities and you get musical magic. They created so many hits, some performed by other artists, I am sure that many of them are somebody's favorite song. My personal favorite -- which also happens to be Barry's favorite -- is "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart." Simply sublime. You should give it a listen if you haven't done so, already.
Bee Gees is just one of the greatest of all time...and that's it. Wonderful, beautiful, amazing is not enough.
I listened to the BEE GEES growing up. Real music, real musicians, real singers , real song writers. REAL MEN with real families.
The Bee Gees were formed in 1958 and had many many hits in the 1960's, 70's & 80's. Sat Night Fever has many of their hits! Listen to "How Deep is your Love" and the harmony is superb!
Even today, if I'm walking along and listening to Night Fever, I walk differently (not quite Travolta's strut, but close)
No editing. No autotune. Pure talent, and LOTS of practice.
Thank YOU for being a great friend and example. Well deserved sweet dreams on that... Perfect Stranger.❤😂🙏😘😭👍😎🎈😀❤️

I was born in 89 but I grew up on this stuff! 60’s and 70’s music is literally my safe place. Every song whether sad or beautiful is so genuine and pure talent!
The BeeGees had a unique sound. Music of the 70's and 80's was the greatest of all in my lifetime. Even now, in my 70's, I still listen to them and many others from that era. As a former musician, I appreciate what went into producing such an unblemished sound, the great arrangements and superb performance. True talent.
The 70's to the late 80's had THE most touching and meaningful love songs ever written! Don't come at me bro, just stating facts.
My decade you are 100% correct!
And 50s, 60s. Lots of great melodies & amazing voices.
Absolutely
The Bee Gees are responsible for writing 100’s of songs.
What is really amazing is believing you never heard the Bee Gees before.
Pretending you never heard them.
Lilly Jane is obviously in her twenties. This song is from 1978. Have you heard all the great artists from twenty years before you were born? But she's making a point of listening to classic artists now, and I give her credit for that.
Why is it "amazing"??
People are relying on Autotune and they are missing one thing
TALENT!
And the sound engineers take all the groove out of the tracks and set everything to a robotic rhythm.
The best of the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many thanks. You can't listen without falling in love with harmony. Like angels singing.
There is too much hate in today's world for this type of music to be written now. Music is a reflection of the society we live in.
It's funny because everyone thinks everyone was more hateful back then and they're more "accepting" now but that's obviously not true.
So sadly 😥 true
Wow, you said it. Thats so true
Well said, and so very true.
70’s shit was cool
Unmistakable sound--three wonderful voices in harmony.
Outrageously talented
They sing falsetto perfectly and flawlessly. Love the Bee Gees and so happy that I grew up during the 1970s with beautiful music like this! I appreciate them so much more now. This song just makes you want to fall in love!
The Bee Gees were the real deal back then because you can't get any better than Barry, Maurice, and Robin. I always loved listening to them sing.
I drive a minibus on School trips, and often the kids play Bee Gees, Neil Diamond ELO etc.... it restores my faith in youth
As a child of the 70s love seeing young people enjoying some real music from the decade of the greatest music.
That was the GOLDEN era of Music.I saw them in concert. They are the real deal!
70's music is the best, period.
You could see every moment in your face, eyes, lips when you fell for Barry and the Bee Gees. This song gets to your soul.
The most beautiful make voices ever. The harmonies are unmatched and these Three brothers are legendary. Please review more of their music you will be more amazed. Thank you ❤
They sang together from the time they were children. They knew each other better than anyone.
The best music came out of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s‼️ Wanna know why? PURE TALENT‼️‼️‼️‼️ It’s so rare to hear someone with just talent these days. I feel so lucky to have been around when all this damn fine music came out. Music in my house, inside and outside every single day. And my son has grown into a fine musician himself and now his 13 year old daughter is turning into a guitarist and singer and I can’t get enough of them!
I think the biggest difference in music then, compared to now is, that people actually love what they were doing. Music had much more love and respect in it. Another good example is, Annie's Song, by John Denver.
Great memories, thanks Tina, this song made eventually lobe the Bee Gees
My young times, first love comes back, beautiful 70 , THANKS, FEELS GOOD ! 65 old grandpa!
That's why I say there is nothing wrong with today's music that talent couldn't fix.
Bee gees are the blueprint for true vocal and instrumental talent
This is real slow dance music. And i am a southern rock fan. I am 66 years old and love watching young people discovering good music.
These times in music were a gift from God and I'm so happy to have lived thru them.
We just took for granted this our music not knowing how talented they truly were.
I agree with you. They not only sing beautifully, they use their voices like instruments.
That was the 70's...real talent...no editing, no auto tune...true talent...gone are days of real artist's
They were second to none when it came to harmonizing.
What's crazy, they sound better than any autotune singer today lol.

Hello Lily, I’m a Headbanger like you but I grew up in the 80s so I got to live it… And about your age I started expanding my music which you’re gonna find out there’s so much out there. I was a DJ for 25 years in show clubs, where we only played rock ‘n’ roll… The one thing about the Bee Gees a lot of people do not know, that one time they were as big as the Beatles… When the Beatles began, you were either a Beatles fan or Bee Gees fan I don’t know much of old music, but I had a friend who taught me about them who was just as big as a BG fan as he was a Beatle fan… Just thought you’d like to know
