Been giving women heart flutters for 60 years, what a legend
Yep, So True! 🥰
More like fanny flutters 😂
@lauracrawshaw827 just like millions of other men
@@xtraspecial4677 Millions of other men only wish they could be as fluttery as Tom Jones.
That’s massive destruction RUclips not showing the video. I’m never ever gonna fall for RUclips none videos scam.🤓
Tom could sing the knickers off a Nun! What a Voice!!!
🤣 Yep!
LMAO but so true.
😂 👍
Didnt he once turned a convent into a cathouse ??
@@Thetenmaumau Yes, and a Nunnery into a knocking shop
Tom was the man. He's 83 and can STILL belt it out.
This was no overdub....this was not a studio "best voice day" recording.....this is LIVE. Incredible.
No autotune, 1960s mic, no backup singers - just talent.
10 seconds into the song, and she realized why grandmothers and mothers and daughters have been mesmerized by him forever.
Tom is 82 years now and still signing on tour in the UK, he still sounds the same. In fact, he one of host for the Voice UK for the last 10 years or so!
With respect, it's misleading to claim Tom still sounds the same. Age has definitely taken a toll on his voice. But for his age he sounds amazing, and he's still better than half the pro singers performing today.
@@danieldickson8591 Your right, He doesn't sound the same, good but different and every once in a while the old Tom comes out vocally!
The gold standard for belting out a song. Voice and talent off the charts.
Tom in his mid 80s can still belt them out!
The voice, the lyrics, the angst, it was all so much. Everyone has their favorite singer. For my money, Tom is the greatest male contemporary music vocalist ever.
I agree, and I would include Freddie Mercury.
@@paulineackermann2598 Mario Lanza
@@paulineackermann2598 While I wouldn't split hairs with you and with all respect to the memory of the great Freddy Mercury, he was a front man and lead singer. I don't think of him strictly as a vocalist. Tom made his fortune like Sinatra or Tony Bennett. Neither are associated with a band nor is Tom Jones.
🥰♥♥♥
He's up there for sure.
Nowadays he's SIR Tom Jones and a living legend. An astronomical career (he had his own series in the states) and someone who has done it all.
I love it when the younger generations discover real music.
Lilly
Tom Jones hasn't slow down. Tom is now 83. He is currently a judge for The Voice: UK. Few years ago, son of songwriter, who wrote this classic for Tom , auditioned for Tom and other judges. Both son and Tom duet together on this song.
Tom Jones, what can you say, how much talent can one human have ? Stay healthy Tom, this world needs you.
My Lady friend went to see him live in Sydney a few days ago, seems to be well and in good form.
Did you know that Tom was Elvis Presley's favorite singer. They played Vegas at the same time and became buddies.
This is a SINGER!!! I saw him live In LA at The Greek Theater 1969. The man still sings!
Love Watching Girls tear 😢 up, and Fall for TOM'S Voice 60 yrs. Later! The Power of not just Music 🎶. But Great Music!
Yes, talent! Able to get up on a stage and sing, no electronics and no technology to make them sound good. They sang and we loved them.
A few years ago, the other judges were talking about how their careers got started. Sir Tom joined in, and let them know he had been making hit records before any of them were born. He then performed "It's Not Unusual." Jennifer Hudson and Will.i.am fanned out so hard that they recorded Jones with their phones.

Possibly the greatest live recording ever!!
Tom got you. He got everyone. 😆
If Tom has a superpower, it's his ability to truly sell a song. And my favorite of Tom's is 'She's a Lady'.
Written for him by Lonnie Donegan. Sir Tom did a duet on the Voice (UK) with Lonnie's son, who was a contestant
Watched it sent chills down my spine
That was a magical moment. We kept rewinding it.
It wasn’t written for Tom Jones as it was originally released in 1962 by Lonnie Donnegan
That was an amazing video🔥👍🏼
This song would choke up anybody after listening to it and the way Tom Jones sang with with such emotion was the perfect combinatio to make this a great song. ❤
I listened to him with my parents when I was but 7....I still remember staying up and watching him on late night TV with Mom and Dad....loved it, oh the memories.
You are not only a beautiful lady, but a lovely soul. I don't think i've ever seen someone ride the waves of almost every note and in awe of the ride. Congrats for your inquisitness and actual listening to the words and impact.
Tom Jones puts so much emotion into this performance. An amazing singer.
Sounds as good today as then for a man now in his 80s he still belts them tunes out just like he did when he was young.A man who over the decades has kept up with the times. You won't find many in 70years doing what he has achieved.🤗
Elvis once said that Tom Jones had the greatest voice he ever heard.
Elvis Presley thought Tom Jones was a black man he was shocked to see he was white 😊🏴😜
@gwynwilliams4222 How could that be? After all, Tom is a white guy from Wales, UK.
@@monicasellors6464 Many thought that Elvis was black before he became very popular. And he did work with black singers and musicians and was inspired by them.
@bantumwt But, of course Elvis was an American born in Mississippi who mixed with his black neighbours and do it's natural that could be mistaken for being black when he sang but Tom is British and was raised 3000miles+ away from Mississippi.
Elvis also said that The Big O Roy Orbison was the best singer in the world
what a lovely young lady!and of course sir thomas jones.
This performance shows you what a great great singer and performer he is !! He was 27 years old at the time of this show he didn't have any heartbreak in his life ! Kudos to the musical director and the orchestra in the background.
He is amazing. Still sings like this in his 80’s. No one sings like this anymore. Pure talent. You should listen to his song I Who Have Nothing
Your a beautiful woman, and I love your reactions to the great singers.
I've listened to this a hundred times, great reaction!
Tom Jones is from a village near to me. Welsh people pretty much grew up listening to his most famous songs. I've seen him sing live a few times, the last being last summer ... He killed it at 83 years old!
Watching you (Not your words, which were great) emote was a joy. So very honest. I am an old man. Thank you.
Another great live performance!
Never a bad one
love your reaction Lilly. He is a legend and that performance was for sure legendary
One of the greatest LIVE vocal performances in television history…up there with Bobby Hatfield/Righteous Brothers LIVE performance of “Unchained Melody”
You ought to hear him now at 81!
Watching you react was an amazing experience. Seeing you feel this song was so raw. You're an incredible person.
Great song ,sung, By one of the greatest singers ever
Tom Jones is still going strong. He's Welsh.
Tom has one of the best voices still till this day🔥👍🏼
First off, you are lovely. Second, it is refreshing to see someone as young as you are, moved by music I grew up with.
this song was written by the late great snger/song writer Lonnie Donnigon and infact Tom sung this withh Lonnie,s son Peter during Peter,s Audition for the voice uk
That was a brilliant performance. One of the best
The writer of this song was Donny Lonegan. A few years ago, his son appeared on UK's The Voice, and Tom Jones was one of the judges. Tom didn't know the person auditioning was Donny's son. They duetted this song in an impromptu performance and it is quite something.
I would also recommend checking out Tom Jones and the song, 'I Who Have Nothing'.
Women have been having the same reaction to Sir Tom for a very long time. It was common at his live performances for women to throw their room keys or even intimate clothing onto the stage as he performed.
One Guy followed Tom and sold Womens lingerie every night, outside the Auditorium, whenever he performed:)
He sang this song on the voice with the son of the man who wrote it. He was in his 80s and sounded just like this.
He got your heart. He's a master. 👍
I loved your reaction to this master work. I like to remind people who react to this and other great songs from back in the day, that this was a live performance. So accomplished was he at performance that he touched your emotions, effortlessly, through oceans of time, and he did it in one take.
She’s beautiful asf
Great reaction, welcome to the era where artists had a hundred times the talent than many of today, just standing on a stage and performing. Tom Jones had his own variety show in the 1960's....watch a couple of clips. His performances made me hurt even then. How he kept from breaking his neck is a mystery. Oh...my mother was probably one of the most straight laced conservative never even THINK about cheating woman on the planet....but Tom Jones literally made her drip, and I think if she had the chance...well, never mind. He was a major sex symbol in his day.
In real life Tom had been married 10 -11 years when he did this performance. He was 27 here. Married high school sweetheart at 16-17. I've read 16 years old and 17 years old.
That was sung live on UK tv to millions of people
One of my favorite artists since I was 12 in 1970.
Wow that's the music I grew up listening to in the 70s. Nothing beats the good old music of days past.
Tom great very talented
I saw Sir Tom in concert back in May, he was every bit as good as he's ever been. One of the best shows I've ever been to. Watching the older folks who listened to him when they were young standing up and dancing was amazing. And yes, one older woman did throw her panties on stage! LOL
Tom's voice was so strong that in the beginning he was offered to sing opera but he said that rock and roll was his first love so that's so that's the direction he went... His heroes were some of the gospel singers of the His heroes were some of the gospel singers of the day And rock and roll artists such as Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis and Wilson Pickett... Tom is going to be 84 years old this year and still going strong... He's still touring and is a judge on The Voice UK... Not a bad rabbit hole to go down if you want to... Great reaction...
I saw Tom Jones 5 years straight in Vegas in the early 70s. He had a command of the audience that was excellent. Many times men would say that they were there because their wife/girlfriend was a fan. Upon leaving I'd hear comments like, "We're coming back next year to see Tom (they were on a first name basis now). He was so great in getting the appropriate emotion into each number BETTER than so many other singers. (I include Linda Ronstadt as one of those.) His voice was clear and strong and he knew how to milk each note for the most effect. I'm glad you enjoyed the number. Listen to "Delilah." The lyrics throw you for a loop. Or the C & W "The Green, Green Grass of Home." Maybe you'd like his first hit, "What's New Pussycat." It was the theme for a movie of the same name. (When you have the time take a look at the film itself. It was written by Woody Allen and takes place in Paris.) Here's a few others form Tom Jones to listen to: "With These Hands," "Funny, Familiar, Forgotten Feelings," "Love Me Tonight," "She's a Lady," Enjoy!!!
Dear Tom, i remember the first time he appeared on British TV. Great Welsh singer.😊
You could'nt have said it any better Lilly. There will never be another Tom Jones. He's Welch from Wales. Tall, good looking man but really humble and just a beautiful soul.
I was 2 years old when this song came out, this is The stuff my mother listened to, but the man had freaking swag. Awesome that you go back this far with your reactions. Good music is good music. Right? My favorite song from the 60s as far as crooners or love songs... To Love somebody by the Bee Gees guarantee that one will get you.
Tom Jones's voice is incredible. He is in his eighties and can still sings! Check out his song Delilah. You will love it. I had a huge crush on him in 1969 when I was in high school. Love your reaction! ♥
I dare anybody who was in love and the fell out of love not to be Moved by Our Welsh Songster Singing this Classic.. What a Voice.
Sublime..más que perfecto .
My first concert was Tom Jones back in 1970 when I was 7. My parents wanted to see him and were cool to take me.
Tom Jones was great!
Glenn Johnson Hi Lily. How wonderful for you to hear this the first time.I have my own version on RUclips recorded before retiring during the pandemic after 50 years. One of my late wife`s favourite songs.Best wishes.
Glad you are loving these oldies!
In his 80s now, still recording and touring, still sounds great.
I saw Tom Jones in Las Vegas when he was in his seventies and he still sounded like this. What a voice.
So many Tom Jones songs
please dont wait to long to hear another
iI mean you had real appreciation for him
I was a teenager in the sixties and loved Tom Jones and a myriad other great vocalists, but the thought that I would appreciate one from 60 years earlier (as you have done) is not possible. Great reaction.
Went to see Sir Tom Jones in concert last week in Sydney Australia and his voice is still magnificent. One of the great entertainers still at 83 years old.
Tom is the Real Deal ! Amazing Voice and charisma
Give a listen to Tom singing "It's not unusual".Always been a favorite of mine
Imagine all of this heartfelt music on the radio as you were hitting puberty! It has molded my idea of love and romance for the rest of my life!
My Dad would like to see your reaction to Tom Jones cover of "Let It Be Me". He remembers 50 years ago how it affected the young women of the time, and suspects it will have the same effect today.
I was a kid in the 6o's. My mom kept the radio tuned in all day to KILT am Houston's rock n roll station at the time, now they play what passes for country music these days haha. Roy Orbison, Elvis, Fats Domino were my favorite's then. Once the Beatles hit the scene everything changed. It wasn't "groovy" to like Elvis anymore but i secretly did lol.
It takes a incredibly strong man to be tender.
Not to mention vulnerable.
Tom Jones. His voice was so resonant and powerful it is said he actually broke more than one microphone during his career in the studio recording. He also shattered glass on the Dinah Shore show.
His Bond song, Thunderball, is epic. He sang so high and powerful he fsinted in one of the takes. 😮
Back then welsh singers did well out of Bond movies…. EG Shirley Bassey
Many memories of the 1960s music...he is right at the top !
i saw your tear, Lilly, was beautiful
The Walker Brothers " The Sun aint gonna shine anymore" is one of my all time favourites. Love to hear your view of it.
I love watching young women discover Tom. You can see them start to physically melt as his magic works! 😂
That's why, back then, they called him 'The Voice'.
Also, check out Wales's other great export, the incomparable Shirley Bassey. Maybe 'I Who Have Nothing;, 'Big Spender', or ANY of her Bond themes.
welcome to tom the voice jones ,sang live, zero voice tune, live band, in a studio full of people one take one song one master of the art TOM JONES WHO ELVIS LOVED TO HEAR SING AND BECAME HIS FRIEND
Not to argue with you, but maybe you should listen to " chiseled in stone" by the late Vern Gosdin. He was a great country singer in the 70-90s. They called him the voice as well.
Lilly, I think you are what they call an old soul.
Lets just say emotions were the idea back in our ancient time. Try putting Sammy Davis, jim Nabors , Freddie Mercury, or Elvis even. These voices are AMAZING.
pure class.
Makes me cry and I'm a man! Legend!
Now this is actual music living legend
love, when it is unrequited, is pain 💔
Tom Jones could rip your heart to pieces. I never heard his equal.
Great reaction. You are do lovely
It makes me smile when you smile. Beautiful reaction.
Try the Voice TV show where the contestant sings the same song his father wrote with Tom originally. Worth a look. It brings a tear as Tom is only judge that turned his chair.😉🤘
The song wasn’t written for Tom Jones the song was written by Lonnie Donegan and Jimmy Currie and originally released in 1962 by Lonnie Donegan
