I'm so glad the young generation are appreciating the Bee Gees.
The boys were born on the Isle of Man, a small island between Great Britain and Ireland. Although not part of England, Great Britain or the UK, people from the Isle of Man, who are called Manx, are British citizens.
They moved to Manchester, England, with their English parents. It's there where they started singing. They formed a group called the Rattlesnakes. In 1958, when Barry, the tall one, was nearly 12, and the other two, who were twins, were nearly 9, they moved to Australia. Robin was an arsonist in his young days in Manchester, and this was one of the reasons why they left England for Australia as Ten Pound Poms.
They rebranded their band as the Bee Gees when in Brisbane, Australia, and were famous kid singers in that country -there are videos on RUclips of their young days in Australia .
By the mid-1960s, London was the hip place to be, Swinging London and all that. The boys decided to return home in 1967 where they became internationally famous. They split briefly before joining up again, and, by 1975, they were based in the USA, where their disco music started.
They had a young brother, also a singer. He died in 1988, aged 30, in England, where he was born.
The twins have passed as well. Robin, the twin with the longer hair in this video, is buried in a beautiful village called Thame in Oxfordshire, England.
Barry is still alive. He was knighted by King Charles, when Charles was the Prince of Wales. He is the only one who has dual nationality -British American.
I put them up there with the Beatles. They wrote songs for other artists as well. Fantastic group imo.

Even their vibrato is in synch. That's the level of talent these guys had. Few groups can even approach the harmonies of the Bee Gees.

They didn't ALWAYS sing in falsetto, but when they did, WOW! They are also known as great songwriters. They wrote over a 1000 songs for themselves and other artist. They had hits in the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, up until 2001.

Remember that after Maurice died in 2003 both Robin until he died in 2012(The last album released 2 year after his passing) and Barry had solo albums out. Barry's last one in 2021. So running for more than 60 years.

Barry, the lead singer used to sing in his natural voice, somewhere around the mid 70’s he figured out that he could sing in a falsetto style and he pretty much did from then on, his two brothers provided unparalleled harmonies, Robin great singer in his own right and Maurice also very talented.

    • @phillipridgway8317
      @phillipridgway8317 Месяц назад +5

Maurice sang well too, but his talent was in playing several instruments very well and, most importantly, he was the musical arranger for their songs.

    • @KGardner01010
      @KGardner01010 20 дней назад +2

From what I can now remember, Rafael. Barry's falsetto began when they began writing the songs for Saturday Night Fever - Robert Stigwood when they practised in the recording studio, then asked if one of them could sing in a higher voice for some of those songs. Barry gave it a go just to see, and so his falsetto voice was born. The twins then had a go, and so their falsetto's also began. As you would expect, they thought it would take some time to be a lot better at them - but not that long after it, they were all singing such close harmonies together that they sounded like one singer . . . and with that, and their album for the film, the Bee Gee's falsetto harmonising just became their trademark in so many songs afterwards . . .

I was born in 1964 the last year of the Baby Boomers, I am 59 years old and the Bee Gees are my favorite group and Elvis my favorite singer. I am so glad I grew up during the 60's 70's and 80's. It was a Golden era of music. This was without Auto Tune, Artists would cross Genres and write music for and perform with other Artists, Please react to the Bee Gees song Fanny Be Tender with My Love.

They are brothers (The Brothers Gibb). Barry (in the middle, is the oldest. And yes, I had a crush on him back in the day). The other two (Robin & Maurice) are fraternal twins. They had a younger brother (Andy Gibb) who had a great solo career. He was too young to join his older brothers at that time. The Bee Gees were big in the Black Community back in the day. Please react to more!
Here’s a list with my interpretation of what genre I think they fall under:
Too Much Heaven (R&B) Went to #1
How Deep Is Your Love (R&B Ballard), went to #1
Staying Alive (disco), went to #1
Night Fever (disco), went to #1
You Should Be Dancing (R&B or disco), went to #1
Fanny be tender with my love (R&B). Quincy Jones said this was his favorite R&B song. It’s a favorite of mine too.
Jive Talking (R&B), went to #1
Nights on Broadway (R&B/Funk)..you’ll hear the brothers “natural” voices in this song.
Tragedy (Techno? Pop) It also went #1
More than a woman (Disco/R&B) One of the best love songs ever made!
Love you inside out (Funk/pop), went to #1
To love somebody (R&B) One of their earlier hits, from 1967!!! You’ll see how young they were.
    Massachusetts (pop/country), went to #1
Wind of Change (funk/r&b), live 1975 from the Midnight Special or live from their 1979 Spirits tour. They sing in their natural voices on this song.
Alone (pop): One of the songs they made late in their career.
Love So Right (R&B), One of Barry’s best falsetto songs ever.
Words (pop, 1979 Spirits Tour). Barry pours his heart out on this song and they show his wife & son on screen some while he was performing it.
Lonely Days (pop). One of the first songs they wrote after they got back together when they briefly broke up in 1969 then got back together in 1970 to write this.
You Win Again (pop), If you want to hear some 80’s Bee Gees, this is a good one. Went #1 in the UK
    Run to Me (pop)
How Can you mend a broken heart (R&B). The other song they wrote when they first got back together after a brief breakup. It was also their first #1 in the US
Kiss of Life (rock). Shows a diverse side of them.
One (pop), their last top 10 hit in the US
Wedding Day (pop), a single they wrote for their wives! All of them had been married for a while. Barry is will married to this day to Linda for over 53 years!
Rest Your Love on Me Awhile (country). Shows diversity!
Bodyguard (R&B), Robb really shines on this song that could have been played on any R&B radio station!
For Whom the Bell Tolls (pop), again, Robin shines on this one.
Blue Island - live (pop). This song shows the perfect blend & harmony the brothers have. Especially if you do the acoustic one. Just the 3 of them with 2 guitars!
Our Love, Don't Throw it all away-Bee Gee's or Andy's version (pop). After their brother Andy passed, they started performing this during shows in honor of him.
Secret Love (pop). I love the best to this song! Barry & Robin leads.
This is Where I Came in (live) (pop). From the very last CD they ever released. There is a live version out there from a tv show. That's a great one to see how they have evolved into the 2000's!
The 1989 One for all tour medley (excellent vocals & some humor). This is a little long (over 12 min), but they go through about 7-9 songs in this medley with just the 3 of them around 1 mic either Barry in the guitar.

Absolutely phenomenal performance from the brothers, Robin left Barry in the middle, Maurice on the right, The Bee gees the only band in history to have Written, produced and recorded six No1 hits in a row, they also had the best selling album in history until Michael Jackson brought out his Thriller album, Jackson mentioned his inspiration for the album came from the Bee Gees, The brothers first and foremost always considered themselves songwriters before being vocalists, They have written many songs for famous artists to many to mention, and written for films, the guys have a huge catalog of songs over 6 decades and have sold over 260 million records worldwide,This performance of To Much Heaven was a charity event for UNICEF children charities, the guys donated the proceeds to UNICEF children charity,no auto tune just pure talent, the bee gees born on the Isle of Man 🇮🇲 of the coast of the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, checkout the music video or another Bee gees song called, ( Fanny Be Tender With My Love) your see how diverse these guys are, great reaction thanks 🙏

They have a much younger brother who had a solo career. Amazing voice. Please react to him, Andy Gibb on the Midnight Special singing, I Just Wanna Be Your Everything.
They gave us masterpiece after masterpiece with their incredible song writing and magical vocals. They started performing when Barry, in the middle was 9 and his younger brothers, twins, Robin with no beard and Maurice, pronounced Morris were 6 years old. They have five decades of songs this amazing. Here's some of them,
Fanny Be Tender With My Love.
    How Deep Is Your Love.
Nights On Broadway. Love You Inside Out. Run To Me. Words.
Stayin Alive. Living Eyes. Bodyguard. Kiss Of Life. Mr Natural. When He's Gone.
    I Can't See Nobody.
    I Started A Joke.
    Alone.
    To Love Somebody.
    Love So Right.
How Do You Mend A Broken Heart.
    For Whom The Bell Tolls.
    Wedding Day.
    Tomorrow Tomorrow.
    Morning Of My Life.
    And The Sun Will Shine.
    My World.

Fun fact. These guy's iconic sound started as a joke. They were rehearsing and singing a song when Berry (the one in the middle) sang a verse high like that just to goof around. Their producer stopped everything and said, "Do that again...but the whole song this time." Their producer liked it so much he encouraged them all to start doing it and, well, Beegees.

    Steph
Barry Gibb (one in the middle) has vocal range with falsetto with his brothers: Robin (one with long hair, no beard) and his fraternal twin, Maurice aka Mo. Both Barry & Robin usually sings together on songs with all three sings on harmonies. Brothers Gibb aka Bee Gees had another brother, their youngest brother named Andy Gibb, but sadly, Andy died very young at the age of 30 in 1988. Then twins died 11 years apart with Maurice in 2003 & Robin in 2012 leaving Barry as Last Bee Gee.
Local news network in Australia did an in-depth interview with Barry about 6 months after Robin's death called Lone Bee Gee or Last Bee Gee. Interview is on here, RUclips.

Barry is a goat falsetto singer. I love how he could fluidly sing falsetto to his natural & back to falsetto. Barry is the eldest brother the other 2 guys are his Fraternal twin brothers Robin & Maurice. They also had a younger brother.
Named andy gibb. And he had his own musical career.

They wrote over 1,000 songs for themselves, and over 100 for the best artists in 4 decades. No one but Sir Paul McCartney has written more hits than Sir Barry Gibb! 'Nights On Broadway was the first song they used their high falsettos in, but Barry comes in with his powerful chest voice, and Robin, with his one-of-a-kind voice, just fills it out! Maurice does the high fills at the end that Barry did on the studio recording. Check out 'Alone' the official video, another super-high falsetto tune, 'How Deep Is Your Love', the ultimate love song, and one of their early hits 'Run To Me' for more fantastic harmony! Enjoy!
