I applied Rain-X two weeks ago on my car windows, It rained a bit during the last two weeks, but not while I was driving. Today however on the motorway it started raining heavy, I could see the wiper blades on the car behind me going very fast. My windshield was like the matrix, water was flying off. I didn't have to use my wipers at all.
So you’d give it a 10/10 ? My windshield wipes are broken at the time being it’s a blown motor . And I have to get to work , so would you say rainx is the way to go ?! Or
@@eliiglesias3447 as a last ditch effort yes it would work
My wipers packed up on my boxer. I easily managed to see down the M6 and A449. Soap and water. Fast glass and buff with newspaper prior to applying
Its a good thing you didnt have to use them because if you did it would have left a haze on your window that makes you essentially blind when car lights come through it. THis stuff should be banned, and yes I applied it exactly how it says on the bottle.
I usually clean then claybar my windshield. Then apply RainX.
I apply it to my Headlights, Fog lights, taillights, and especially my back up camera Works Excellent
Thanks for that tip
Do you apply it to any other windows?
I apply to all the glass windows of my car. My paint gets the TW spray and seal, i wipe some of that onto headlights etc
Thats a great tip thank you i wouldnt of thought of that...
Thanks for the advice
You gotta mix alcohol in water before cleaning your blades, never use alcohol by itself cuz it’s gonna break your rubber blades.
It destroys the silicone layer in the rubber and dries it out, cracking the rubber
Thanks for the tip!
Or use a safe glass cleaner
I use alcohol at work on vacuum seals...I use it neat
Using 99% Isopropyl probably is safe, it evaporates extremely quickly.
Nice. Just finished, now I'm waiting on the rain. Since I live in Seattle that should be shortly. Thanks
Also what he didn't mention was that it last a good few months
Seattle?
I'm surprised you made it through that sentence without it raining. ⛈️
Finally not tomorrow ... Pe Ell here
Rain-X isn’t just for windshields.
You can also apply it to the rear windshield, the side windows, both rear view mirrors, and the sunroof (if equipped).
What about glass roofs, like in Teslas?
Can it be applied on the paint of the car?
@@lichao420 not the paint I’d get a ceramic coating spray
You can apply to skin, that way in the shower the water just beads off.
And sunglasses if you’re rafting!
Thank you sir! Informative & right to the point. Also appreciate the comments about the alcohol on the blades being mixed w water.
Thank you for the tip about 2nd coating and alcohol!
Absolutely good advice! 👍 Rainex also has washer fluid that renews the application. Side windows, mirrors, rear window benefit as well. Rainex has saved my bacon many times in heavy rain and heavy traffic. Good video...
Thank you for proper instructions.
I did half window your way and half my way and your way works much better.
You should clean the wiper blades (and the glass where it rests when stopped) every time you refuel the vehicle. I clean mine weekly as well.
Great advise.👌
Excellent demo! Thank you.
Ty vm. I was checking this out for the Granddaughter whos a transport driver out west and now im gonna do the same for all of my windows of vehicles.
Hey man, thanks for the video. I wouldn't have thought of using rubbing alcohol or wiping down the blades. I appreciate you 🙏🏽
Perfect for the side mirrors
Thanks! This was very helpful!
Thank you for the step by step instructions very helpful
Well explained, easy to do and cover the entire topic
This takes it up a notch! I love rainx and i think it really helps.
Driving from Florida to Jersey soon. Thanks for the tip!
Great video. Best on youtube. Specific, succinct and great explanation
Thanks ! Buying Rain X today.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time.
Thank you for you teaching how to Apply.
Can I polish my glasses with it? Because, when I am running from cops and it is raining, i cant see much...
krokodil196 lol
I mean either way, if you could see properly or not, the cops 9 out of 10 times are almost always going to catch you. Getting away depends on how much distance you can make, how well you know the area (surroundings) like streets or alleyways or parking spots or how well you can hide in plain sight. Also, a-lot of luck is needed and motivation to actually get away some people just give up 5 minutes into the chase so you got to keep motivated to drive until your gas is used up or take another vehicle. Hey now, not condoning this but just my opinion!
@@MrSpeedsta It's a joke...
I think he means his eye glasses! 😂🤓 🏃 💨
I dont see why you cant. I got the same thought when I was applying it on my windshield tonight.
Hi, thanks for sharing your video about Rain-X. Would you say that Stoners Invisible Glass is a good alternative to isopropyl/rubbing alcohol for pre-cleaning the windshield..? Esp now that alcohol is much harder to find at the stores. Thanks for your input.
Thats was really good. Thank you
Thanks for the video! Just a tip, I’d recommend not using alcohol on the wiper blades as it’s not good for rubber. At least, I wouldn’t recommend using it on them often. Just a damp cloth should be all you need.
Scotty Kilmer recommends cleaning wiper blades with WD-40 spray on a shop towel
@@Falconlibrary No. If you are going to apply such a product, use WD-Silicone or stuff called Lanox, it has lanolin in it, both much better for rubber. Scotty is not god no matter what he tells you.
... as well as getting it on the rubber edges of the windshield. It can end up cracking.
@@Falconlibrary If I followed Scotty Kilmer's advice I wouldn't be driving a car at all
Thanks for the info. Very helpful 😊
Great video! Thank you!
Solid video! Thanks dude
Very helpful. Thank you
Haha, i was doing it all wrong. Thanks a lot, you're great!
i started watching about a minute of this video and wondered why he was talking so slow. only realised i had the video speed on 0.5 lol was quite funny!
Extremely helpful and very well presented. Thank you.
Hey love the quality of this video.
Using isopropl alcohol is a great way of destroying the silicone in your wiper blade and dries out the rubber. Keep ANY alcohol wipes away from wiper rubbers. From a detailer with 27 years knowledge
How to clean it then?
@@ajaaniajaa just water lol
Was thinking the same thing-but don’t distract the influencers with faux carbon fiber hoods on their 3 series, Hondas, mustangs, etc.
Great video, thanks
Great video... What camera is that you used? as it shows up all the detail crystal clear!!! I've used the Rain x on my bike visor and it is the best thing ever as when the droplets settle, just turn your head and they run off...
I had the hardest time trying to get the haze off with a clean dry microfibre towel. I drizzled some water on the windshield and the haze buffed out much easier, but I wonder if I made the Rain X less effective doing this? Thanks for the video.
No, because the Rain-X Directions say you can use Water or a wet cloth to finish.
Good info. Thank you
Thank you!
How often should I apply Rain X? I usually wash my car every week and I use micfofibre cloth for washing my car and chamois for drying it.
You glazed over an important step. You talk quickly about removing the rain x after the second coat, but you didn't mention the method. Should the user use a dry cloth???? Should something be applied on it?
I heard it works better with a wet cloth when wiping off. But i did it with a dry cloth and it worked perfect no streaking issues and it held up good! It's raining almost every day here where i live
The Phantom is watching you damn where do you live bro
@@ambitionsskyyyy Probably England...🇬🇧💂♀️🇬🇧
Clifton Photographer haha probably bro
The whole point of the video was to show us how to apply rain-x properly. Applying it doesn't matter much, it's the proper removal that makes the difference.
Could Max put up some tips on taking care of carbon fiber and any things to be wary of when polishing carbon fiber vs regular paint. Ceramic coat tutorial would be good too ;)
Stay tuned ;)
Thanks so much 💜🧡💜
Can it be applied on side mirrors too? thank you for responding to my question :)
Nice work...
Thorough explanation
Good review bro
Thank You!!!!!!
For those of you who don't have much time, just spray rainx directly onto a dirty window and "clean" the window with it. Then just rinse windows well and wash the car. It will work just the same.
All I wanna know is what camera are you using.
Thanks for the demo. My wipers quit working yesterday and it's not the fuse. So I'll try the RainX. Gotta be easier than tearing into the firewall to repair the wipers.
Thank You😎👍🏼
Yup, i bought a sedan as my first car. I will put this stuff on my windshield and my rear window. The rear window doesn't have a wiper so rainx should help with getting water off. But maybe I will wait until it really rains before I do this.
Well explained
Spasibo 🌻
My friend I have an issue with hazing.. what do I do ? Early mornings my windows haze up until I use hot air on them
Saludos... si no tengo ese alcohol isopropilico... puedo utilizar alcohol comun y corriente!?!?!?
Now i can apply a small area at the Bus Shelter window, thanks
Now that's just funny as Hell !! LMAO!
Does this work for snow and ice, for tough Canadian winters?
Isopropyl was not mention on the direction rain-X. Anyway, I'm going to try it.
Glass cleaner works as well, but with alcohol you can clean your windshield better, the cleaner it is the better it sticks.
Cool dude 👍
thanks!!!!
I clean the wind shield with any Glass spray cleaner including the wipers, Rainx instructions state apply rainx to a clean soft cloth from the top small circular movements all over window, Then after another clean cloth apply tape water to cloth damp only and wipe over window and allow to dry job done!!😮
Can you put the rain x on the windshield wipers?
Same towels? New ones for each step?
Can you do rear and side windows too
Can this product be applied to house windows?
Will the alcohol have any effect on the paintwork??
''we gonna take our rain-x and breath in a good cloud of it...''
Thats why i buy the bottle and pour it on the cloth
I clean the wipers when I clean the windshield and when I apply the rain x . I apply rain x to the wipers to protect them so they do not dry out from the alcohol . and they work better with the treated windshield if and when you may need to use them .
Rain-X is an Acidified ALCOHOL.
I applied to my headlights, mirrors, and tailights and made them immediatley freeze in freezing temps. I compared to other cars w. Out rain x and this did not happen to them. Windshield it made ice quicker to immediatley form on my windshield thank god I had de icer windshield fluid.
I have used raim x for a while I normally apply it to an applicator pad Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but lately it’s only lasting for 5 days on my windshield
Maybe it's because you're using your wipers? If you follow the instructions in this video then you should be fine.
Can you demonstrate a good way to clean a fabric convertible top
Not sure what kind of rain repellent in the automatic wash but I never get my car dried off (they suck) and I never have problems seeing out of my windshield and the water beads fly upward as I drive in the rain. However, I would like to apply this to my side windows and side rear view mirrors since the rain repellent from the automatic wash doesn't seem to help keep the rain clear from those areas.
Most car washers use a small amount of wax to the soap!!!😮
What's the duration before reapplication?
thanks
You can actually use the rain x as well to clean the wiper blades. Works like a dream.
Late comment. But I never thought anything of it before until I ready started taking care of my vehicle..now I clean my wipers everytime in clean my truck
how much months does it work
How long does it last?
How often do you need to apply this? Are the Rain X wipes as good as the spray? My car wash has an option for it. Is that just as good? Do the Rain X windshield wipers do any good?
I've used the Rain-X Wipers for years on my Camaro I love them. How often depends, if your state rains a lot more then ours I would just apply it as often as you need it. I feel as though a combo of the spray and wipers are a fantastic option. Don't forget to hit the back windows too! -- Marly
I will clean my wipers when I do this, thanks
Thanks
IPA would dry the rubber on the wipers. Just an advise,
how about silicone blades?
I used rainx on my car and it worked great until I used the wipers the it was streaky. What have I done wrong?
Don't use your wipers.
RAIN-X was developed for aircraft use.
grabber blue mustang in the background looks just like mine! is that yours?!
Nice Camaro
how often do u have to apply the product to keep it doing its job
Depends on how much rain you receive or how often you use your Windshield Washers or how you wash your car.
Two to Four times a year when you see less beading of the Water.
Great video ❤👍👍a use wd40 on wiper blades
So after the rainex dries, you go over it with a clean towel? Maybe that's what I did wrong. Mine has streak marks when I look out of it at night
Yeah! Basically what you're supposed to do there is just remove the "hardened" layer from the top.
I don’t have microfiber clothes but I do have paper towels, should I bite the bullet and take the trip to my parts store or just send it and do it will the paper ones
So you put the rain x on and then wipe it off??
I put the ceramic on and there’s horrible streaks everywhere I can’t get it off
Can you apply rain-x above wax coat on the grill of the car for love bugs?
I don't think it would be much of help honestly.
Can I clean my windows with isopropyl alcohol?
You always pull up your wipers and get the full windshield when you clean it. No difference in spraying a towel or applying right on the windshield as all you are doing is spreading it around the same way. You are just wasting more spraying it on the towel as it goes flying off in the air. At least when you spray it onto the windshield the majority in going onto the windshield and not into the air.
Not gonna lie, when I start using this I was like "why te F, is this hazing up? Its not working". T-thanks for this video
When I applied it to the window on my 2015 BMW X5 it made a stain on a plastic piece what should I do?
Sell the car
I apply it to the glass screen in the shower. It stops the water spotting.
