04dram04 the power-plant & gearbox are the heart of a kit.
Looking to start My build within 12mths.
At the research stage at the moment,
Inc tools, workshop etc.
I’ll be using a bmw v12 5.2 700bhp, race tuned
and quad turbo for My build.
Luckily, I’ve a mate who works specifically with v12’s.
Cost more than the complete kit itself.
Total home build cost around the 60k Mark.

Byg Syxx thats funny...it needs much more than a wee bit.
It needs the body carefully removed and the chasdis treated with the detail the body and interior got.
Such a novice builder mistake.
The chassis is the CAR. The body keeps the wind and weather off you and the chassis.
This guy has spent soooooo much detail on the body and the interior his pocket has to be drained of funds.He should just make a fake engine compartment cover .

This car needs a fake engine bay cover .Amazing how many people dont under stand you build a car from the chassis out .The CHASSIS is the car .The body is just to keep the weather off you and the chassis.
Now I know a massive amount of labour was spent on that body.Amassive amount. These kit bodies are always made by boat builders thick and not very well finished nor detailed.
Car llooks good skin deep great actially!.
Next build the chassis is the CAR.
Remember that and you will be a happier owner.

the fiero based kits usually look wrong in the wheelbase department and the track usually too narrow this one looks a lot better good body aswell definately a good attempt, enginebay next?

The paint job is obviously not a very good one, saw lots of flaws, the fit & finish also were not given much attention..I was shocked at how bad the engine bay looked, especially the rust...this is a 50 foot car all day.

For a Kit car it is nice, but drop that V-8 and pick up a BMW V-10, get larger exhaust tips and lose the Gallardo wheels for Diablo wheels, get a Lamborghini Steering wheel and it would be real nice.

Here is what I do not understand about the kit car market as a whole. These replicas for the most part are rather expensive. Obviously you apply all the exterior details like badging, rims etc to duplicate a super car. But within 3 seconds if anyone that has even a basic knowledge of the diablo or Lambos in general walks up to this car they would immediately know it's fake. And for 30 to 50k, I would never embarrass myself like that. Just my opinion.

Okay, let's get down to it. For starters always the wheels are what tell the tales from the exterior of being real or fake. Next the engine comes second. Using any Pontiac Fiero engine is just an abomination. Third let's take it to the interior. The first give aways are always the seats, steering wheel and shifter knob/boot. And the dashboard needs to be correct as well. If all of those things are done properly then you've got a pretty good Countach! Yes, it may be more expensive to make those things more legitimate, but in the end it's worth it!
