The Dune buggy looks pretty cool Seems like that's been around every since I was a kid back in the 70's Though I can't help but wonder if an air-cooled Porsche engine could be used in one of those
I remember that part of the video I heard every word I remember thinking when you put it that way a V8 doesn't sound that much smaller only 2 cylinders less.
Fiero kits can be scary fast with a V8 conversion. The kits for the V8 conversion are readily available and, with a 400-500 hp small block Chevy transplant, the "Fiero" is now a serious threat to the "supercars"...which is why Chevrolet FORCED Pontiac to STOP producing them. They were cutting into Corvette sales by the 1988 model year and that's why that year is only a half year production.
I've built a factory five racing mk4 Cobra. Allot more work and knowledge needed then you would expect but, gotdamn! Worth every second and every penny.
Pontiac Fiero: It's actually a great car to work on, as long it has a *MANUAL TRANSMISSION* along with the V6 engine, hopefully... Myers Manx: It's a dune buggy! You can just simply mod it, throw in big tires and off road it!
@@IdealMediaChannel It's a seriously tough choice for me, but in the end I managed to choose the Pontiac Fiero, because imagine driving the dune buggy anywhere and suddenly the rain comes down, not cool...
The Super 7 R400 would be my first choice. Followed very closely by the Factory Five’s rocket. Worthy of note; Anthony from GasKings first made quite the sensation on Y-tube with videos based around “SuperCar OR Replica?”. He did very well on Y-tube, financially.... before spending time in the ‘Nick’ (Her Majesty’s Penal Institution... Jail/prison) for unrelated charges. I knew him back then. It was a great category to do a video on for the Ideal Team. Consider... the worst Replicas. Although, there may be too many choices to shortlist. Thanks for the video Brad,.... and ‘Sneezy”.
I definitely understand the non appeal of the fiero but I've got 2 and I love to throw them around tho none of mine are stock and one of them has the ws6 suspension upgrade the engines are probably easier to take out than putting the body kit on it i can get it out in 2 hours and 3.4 and 3.8s bolt right up and i absolutely love mine
Noble M600. Not sure it’s technically a kit, but they were only sold in the US without a drivetrain. The pronunciation of Mulsanne and LeMans had me cringing! Jason Camissa (Road & Track) recently called out RUclips videos with mispronounced words/names. He said- how can you take them seriously if the creator didn’t learn how to pronounce correctly. I like your videos, but please work on the pronunciation. Love the budget car lists!
Fieros had the ability to dust Camaros, Trans Ams, and even Corvettes of that same era. GM produced the car as an econobox commuter, and was not willing to threaten their other models' performance numbers if the Fiero outperformed their signature rides costing twice and three times more. I had an 86 GT back in the day and would regularly dust Irocs, T/As, and vettes in mountainous twisties. My buddy who was a good driver wrecked his Vette when trying to stay on my bumper.
For what it's worth, setting aside the fact that a DYI kit car is cool to be able to say you built it yourself for cheap. The only one I would really want to build is the Factory 5 GTM but even at 25k without the C5 it will end up costing you 35-50k and that's not counting all the hours of labor involved! Sooo I just went out and bought a cheap (8-10k) little Saturn Sky Redline, and with some bolt-on's and a tune I've got a light (2,900lbs) fun roadster making 350 hp at the wheel for around 10-12k, perfect for autocross / road course weekend's.
Before this video, I had a bad impression of kit kars thinking they were just cheap piles of garbage who imitate more expensive cars but after this video, I no longer have a bad impression, Thank you Ideal Cars!
You can always bolt on a V-8 on the back of a Pontiac fiero and re-do the interior and change the whole look and feel of the car with a body kit of your choice
Ahem...cough....Lewis Hamilton would have won 8 Formula 1 championships by now if there hadn't been a huge cock-up during the last race of a season by the race officials which disadvantaged him, and he's won more F1 races than anyone else.
Honestly thank God to technology and stuff. you can literally make any model and have a luxury car. the difference is the engine but you can fix that there are Lambo engines for sell and other good parts. My buddy got a skyland engine and put it into his replica. It's fun to do diy
Car deserves Led Zeppelin sticker because it screams American Muscle Robert Plant: screams in british xD Gotta agree with the choice of the favorite. That Factory 5 looks and sounds awesome ^^
And byw fast isn't a number. Fast is what happens when you put a skilled and safe driver in nearly any car as long as it's not broken. It's a driving style
I love the Fiero from my childhood. When I was in my 20s I went to test drive one . This was around 2003. All I can say is death trap. At the time is was like your safer on a motorcycle. Still loved the car from my childhood still do .
I see my Martini Stratos has made it across the water. It was built Using the comprehensive kit from LB Specialist cars, powertrain is a 3.5Ltr Supercharged V6 Toyota as fitted to the Lotus Evora
The Dino 206/246 GT and GTS were not designed by Bertone but by Aldo Brovarone at Pininfarina. Marcello Gandini at Bertone designed the Dino 208/308 GT4 which was a mid engine V8 powered 4 seater. The Dino 308 GT4 was introduced in 1973 and supplemented by the 208 GT4 in 1975. The cars were sold with Dino badging (continuing the Dino brand in honor of Enzo Ferrari’s late son, to differentiate non-V12 Ferraris) until May 1976, when they received Ferrari badging. The Ferrari GT4 was later replaced by the Mondial 8 in 1980. The only other Ferraris designed by Bertone’s Marcelo Gandini were a couple of one off Ferrari 250 GT SWB Speciales and the 308 GT Rainbow shown at the 1976 Turin Auto Show of which only one was built. Bertone did design the Lancia Stratos though. You got that part right.
You forgot the SLC superlite coupe. It uses about any engine or transaxle although the most common powerplant is the LS Chevy V-8 and the Porsche transaxle. Rolling chassis starts at about $48k
I wanna be a good enthusiast who can work on mg own cars when i get them but where do i start or when i have my car it slowly comes to me????? Btw I want vaydor kit and then LS Swap it
The Fiero motor can be replaced with a supercharged 3800 out of a GPZ and it will scream especially if you add nos or replace the supercharger with twin turbos or both.
