Killer Mike has been around about 20 years. OutKast discovered him and he is part of Dungeon Family along with Future. Dungeon Family is a staple of Atlanta Hip Hop and includes OutKast, Organized Noize (producers behind OutKast TLC many more), Goodie Mob (Cee-Lo's rap group), Cool Breeze, Big Rube etc. athe past decade Mike has been a part of the rap group Run The Jewels.
It’s nice to see people being open minded and expanding their musical horizon, so props to you. Life is about learning and growing so you gotta new sub from me✌🏻
everyone after listening to this album is appreciating Killer Mike and MICHAEL. At first I thought Travis was robbed but after listening to this album I was mind blown and looking forward to more from Killer Mike
If you like albums like this, you should check out Big Krit - 4eva is a Mighty Long Time. It has the same vibe as this album with the gospel influence. It's a double disc album that represents his rap persona and the person behind the persona under his government name. It came out in 2017 and it definitely should've been a candidate for album of the year. Everyone who's reacted to it felt the same way. It's 100% one of the most underrated albums of the 2010's.
For those that just didn’t know Run the Jewelz is Mike and El P . El P was the leader of Definitive Jux a legendary underground group. Mike from the dungeon family, No ID is Kanye’s mentor and an Triple OG producer. So maybe that could clear up any questions why it was so good.
Dude no disrespect, but how are you making videos like this without knowing who Killer Mike is?! That’s mind blowing to me. That being said, I’m glad you dug it. Listen to Run The Jewels. Mikes been around a long time. He has many albums. Remember the Kendrick lyric off Hood Politics: “critics like to mention they miss when hip hop was rappin, Motherfucker if you did, Killer Mike would be platinum.” That’s TPAB. KM was on Stankonia man. RTJ all the way. Mike is a treasure
Killer Mike has been working for this shit for 30 years. Travis Scott has plenty of time to win a Grammy. They went with a message over a vibe. I don't even hate Travis Scott. So what if it's an old man "gospel rapping," the production is top notch, the lyrics are as confessional as it gets, the features are all on point. The vocals aren't samples either, those are original.
The album has more substance they these young 20 year olds so they can’t understand killer mike deep game he have us in the masterpiece, just google all the names he calls out in the album an do a lil research
You cause we young don't mean we don't know substance..that's not a wise comment from a old head. You sound like the typical old guy probably only hear mainstream music. Most of us don't listen to the mainstream we stream what we want.
@@shynebayarea510 am 36 & I think it’s not wise for young people to say they never heard of someone who has been rapping for long as they been alive with out doin research first! An he is main stream just cause someone is not on the radio doesn’t mean they are under ground or not main stream he just o.g. He has songs on radio about 10 years ago
@jarvisidlette236 kliier Mike is not mainstream. it's actually disrespectful to call him that. Do you know what mainstream means? Mike goes against the normal rap agenda that is mainstream. This just a rap. It's not really important to research a rapper first. as long as he gives a rapper a chance with an open ear, it is good enough imo. It's just entertainment..we're you listening to rappers 20 years older than you?
So many people have probably said this, but listen to RUN THE JEWELS. It’s KM with El-P. They have 4 albums. El makes all the beats, and both of them rap. Those albums are incredible. Do yourself a favor, just listen
If you really don't like any female rappers I know a few you could try that are actually good in the underground. Critiqua by Junglepussy Still Dope by Empress Starrh and MF Doom Check Ya Man - CoccPistolCree (Any of that pro era shit really) with T'na Apex on it. I like her verse on Third Eye Shit by JoeyBada$$ there's some good one's out there. You just aint gone find en easy.
Its about entertainment..travis is entertaining its not anout his lyrics he is a vibe. Mike not a vibe he a lyricist, its about his message he trying to send..a certain demographic relates to that
people gotta stop think the grammys is just a popularity contest. half the people shitting on mike for beating travis never even listened to micheal they have no way of knowing which is the better album but they just think "popular = good"
Travis Scott is good but his subject matter isn’t compelling. The one thing Travis Scott album has over Killer Mikes is the amazingly high production quality.
i see why he won the grammy now
Killer mike goes back 20 plus years to the dungeon family..home of outkast and goodie mobb. This is real hip hop. Music with meaning and purpose .
MIKE is a master. There's so many clever bars and shit that Flys over heads. He's a bad man.
Don't forget the group run the jewels with El P. It's good to see this man be recognized finally

Don't Let the Devil is a Run the Jewels track. It was produced by Mike's Run the Jewels partner El-P who is also featured on the track as well.

This is also the deluxe. The album that won the AOTY ended at High and Holy

Dope reaction bro! Man this album was a masterpiece in all honesty. That first track opened up the floodgates for the rest of the album! 🔥🔥
After listening to the album intro, i had to listen to the whole album

The album not deep , stop it .I think Kendrick had more substance on his last album. Tackling topics men don't talk about.

@@shynebayarea510 true but most 20 year olds won’t be able to relate

Bro killer mike is more hip-hop any of these new rappers. You gone learn today.
I just picture that first joint playing while cruising at night time on GTA6
This album has way better lyrics than all the other nominees. Everyone else besides Nas is all hype music.
That "livestream91" seems to be so butthurt at times haha
😂 Killer Mike’s been a well known rapper for decades. Decades. You’re young & not really well informed about hip hop in general. Glad you listened.
