This album feels like a throwback to a sound that never existed
Danny just spitting degenerate across the whole shit
Summed up perfectly
this actually is a throwback to a sound that was overlooked. danny was apart of it
Well JPEG used a sp 404 sequencer to make this album because he wanted to know how they would sound in the 90s. So you’re completely correct lol
This is the best album to come out this year by far
Best hiphop album this year
album of the decade
nah, the forever story is better @@benchmobrecords
Danny Brown is one of the best rappers ever from Detroit who also happens to be funny/entertaining. That comment at the beginning hurt my chest
I audibly gasped
i died inside
Danny Brown and JPEG BEEN established in the game. Danny influenced JPEG. both str8 legends
this album feels like what would happen if we sent a flash drive with fl studio on it into space and it came back 100 years later finished
L to that one person in chat, danny was never a comedian but he is pretty funny lmao
also JPEG aka peggy made every beat on here
yea they trolled him hard with that one lol
Danny is a comedian right now. He is doing stand up and working on his craft.
Damn you summed up scaring the hoes perfectly. Black Rockstars.
Danny brown is not a “rapper on the side”
"stand up comedian that raps on the side" made me a lil mad
Bro i was mislead can’t blame me
He a legend lol
he corrected that at the end when someone told him
In all fairness he's got a podcast hosted by Tom Segura's company now, he's comedy adjacent.
@benjaminjameskreger he was rapping damn near 20 years before that tho
the album i least expected you to react to 😭😭😭
“Danny brown a stand up comedian and raps on the side” 😢
this project is so refreshing to the ears, these 2 never dissapoint
I usually just watch ur drain gang vids but jpeg is my second favorite artist of all time I hope u like this album
After what Kanye did peggy moved up to #1 for me Lmao
@@_.ilyhayden7578 nah yeezy still the goat
Danny brown is one of my favorite artist of all time
i feel you on the Haitian music playing for hours around the whole block
Great reaction. I never take it too personal when someone is first reacting to JPEG. My ears are so used to his stuff, that I have an ear for it. I do know for a while I would listen to a few of his songs because I didn't really get it, but I always would go back to it. I don't know what clicked, but for the past few years JPEG has been one out of a handful of artists that I get really excited when they drop. You literally never know what you're going to get, but he also stays true to his sound.
I would also say, this one is a bit more experienmntal than his most recent stuff. I would highly recommend either for a reaction or your own time reacting to his album LP!(offline), ("Offline" just means its the version the label couldn't release because of samples not being cleared) or All My Heroes Are Cornballs. Its still really experiential, but not as brash or out there as this album is. His earlier stuff is way more experimental, which I really love, but LP! (offline) in my opinion is peak JPEG.
Also, Danny Brown is another one who may not be for everyone, and takes some getting used to. But he is a legitimate legend. He was really big in Detriot and has had a huge sort of half underground, half mainstream success. I think as a whole he is one of the most underrated artists ever, but he is absolutely respected by hip hop heads. He is one of the most normal, yet hilarious people ever. His album "Atrocity Exhibition" is considered a classic by A LOT of people. And he has been on of the major influencers in experimental hip hop.
I enjoyed the video though. My first reaction of yours I've seen. I don't expect everyone to like what I like, but I do appreciate having an open mind. And you're right, if you follow the lyrics JPEG has the perfect balance of really talking some real shit, and trolling. lol And you have to respect an artist who creates exactly what they want, even if we don't fully get it. But I will for sure check out more of your content. Hope you have a great, positive and safe weekend!
I'm a Danny Brown fan who hasnt listened to much JPEG before this, but im also an old school indie/experimental hip-hop head from the 90s/00s so this weird dense sample-heavy stuff felt like coming home to me
As a huge peggy fan, I never liked veteran tbh just way too harsh and sometimes too croony and no song structure. However I liked cornballs a lot more and then he dropped fucking LP! which made me cement peggy as one of my fav l artists ever. Hot take but STH is one the same level as LP! for me simply bcoz of how fun and creative it sounds
danny dont even do stand up, he been rapping for over 10 years atp and he better than jpeg to alot of ppl
He's not better than peggy sorry
@@RegisteredLate123at rapping of course he is. But at production peggy is on top of all time
JPEG made all the beats on a sample machine, no computer, no daw
maybe start doing JPEGMAFIA's discography starting wit VETERAN
He can't handle veteran (neither can i)
14:30 I played Need For Speed Unbound while listening to this album and it fit the vibe so well in the background.
XXX by Danny Brown a classic
love the vid 8 god
Sometimes you just gotta accept you can't put all music in a genre box. I didn't love it on the first listen but now I do.
he is so experimental I love the different sounds he uses in his music
??? Danny brown is a rapper not a comedian, he has done comedy only a few times, that chatter looks goofy af 😂
Fr
This album is such a banger
Never thought I'd see Andree 3000 reacting.
🤧🤣 boy
that third track lowkey went hard (edit: just the sample was hard 💀)
High key everything about it is hard
muddy waters is bombastic af love it
"His friend, the comedian.. ", Danny Brown
I love that bro just fucking let’s the songs play and takes them in and then reviews them after like bro we don’t need 30 pauses in one song
You really need to listen to Veteran by JPEG, easily his best and most melodic
Idk bro LP offline might be the one
I wouldn't call it his most melodic but its a good one
Agree! if you gonna do peggy, gotta start with veteran
lp better but its close
ngl the first 6 songs or so carry bro the album is a bore fest in the mid section then the end picks up
The disrespect on Danny at the beginning is crazyyy.
Gotta listen to a Jpegmafia album on its own, he produces everything it’s so fire especially offline
GOD-LEVEL ALBUM PEGGY THE NEW KANYE/KENDRICK HE'S GOATED AF FR 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏
please do not ever say childish gambino is anything like these 2. PLEASE. keep them 2016 ass rappers away
Peggy's equally nasally, that's it.
nah this album is a weird starting point for peggy i think LP would have been a way better start for u
What about veteran
@@MarkMarkMark556 nah he gon hear real fella and turn the stream off. veteran isnt a starter for 8god there are sum songs like calvert or rainbow six that would be good individual tracks
@@sunnymingo9443ong no one making thru veteran first listen 😂, I'm a huge peggy fan still I don't like veteran tbh
bro listens to Drake and Da Baby lol
bro you need to listen to more peggy if u fw this his discography is crazy
bro is not a stand up comedian that raps on the side oh my god, danny brown legacy is in shamble rn
jpegmafia top 1 producer rapper
el-p is the only person i’d put above him
@@spartanv4335u wouldn’t tho
@@nibblet445 have you heard run the jewels, his shit with killer mike?
@@spartanv4335 Bro yes lol I wouldn’t comment on ur take if I didn’t I’ve heard rtj 1-4 fantastic damage and cancer 4 cure he may be a better technical rapper jpegmafia is just much better musically and in creativeness with his voice and production
@@nibblet445fr
4:30 he got you
Danny aint a comedian first rapper on the side, think youre talking about zack fox
Jpeg got me thru so much no cap
you needa try Veteran
fire reaction you should listen to veteran its the most easy to get to from jpeg he is fr the goat one of the most versatile artist all time
Best of the year right here at least top 3
U really should listen to peggy more in my opinion his creativity extends almost more than dg guys
W
ski mask sample legendary
the mixing on the vocals on this album is off so it's kind of hard to hear them
solid project tho i love weird shit like this
I wanted to say that ngl
i think u are not appreciating the producing and sampling of peggy, like u said in minute 14:36, is not only shit u playin in background for me. That would be stressful lol, i think that this is music that is meant to be heard in a very meticulously way. (sorry for my english, im from chile)
AND not every song/music is meant to sing along, you just enjoy sounds in some cases or rhythms.
Ok
@@kingmilmiceus😂
I do agree with you about kingdom hearts key, the song was a little too long and dragged out.
whole thing went over his head lol L
I’m supposed to get it first listen ? I shoulda faked it for views ?
@@kingmilmiceus you good bro he just mad
damnnn u really didn’t like this shit 😂 it looked painful for u to try n say anything good about it
Disagree, he was just digesting. He liked it which is dope
I think It’s just new for him
Very new
@@Domcreator should have it called scaring the homies lol. It’s a wonderful record and I hope it opens re reviewer to check out some of the weirder rap out there.
