kas _ agreed. Perez is by far better than Ocon and he’s more knowledgable from having more experience which is what small teams also want to help car development.
@@Ben_Mayall exactly, take 2018 Brazil for example, checo never would have faught for that position but Ocon was greedy and ended up looking like a clown
Wow, Kobayashi is such an underrated driver. His throttle, brake and steering inputs are immaculate. You can see how he clearly understands the grip balance of his tires. At 0:40, you can see his front right start to lock up, but then, he modulates the brakes to stop locking, just in time to eliminate understeer going to the turn. Enjoying these Kobayashi clips
the moment of understeer is more a result of the cars of the time, from 1998-2016, the cars would understeer and you would still gain lap time , locking up before isnt as severe pace-wise as it is now 2017-present
I'm glad to see other commenters think he was underrated and low key rooted for him. I always did myself and I thought it was totally a shame he got pushed out of F1.
Really sad to be honest what is happening with the F1 especially the lower team's drivers , so many piss poor drivers , there is no skill at all Pathetic
Gutierrez reminds me of a B. Hartley and vice versa. Fast on lower categories when u drive against your age group. Even F2 might be a cakewalk like we saw J.Palmer winning everything. Vandoorne as well. But when u step up to F1. There's best drivers from last 20 years
@@JonsterMonster Woah there dont include Palmer in that list, he took 5 years to win the title compared to the average 2-3 and underperformed massively with the same car as a regular midfield runner while Vandoorme won the title in his debut season and had to drive a arguably different car to that of a two times world champion for which everyone shat on him, he truly deserves to succeed in FE after so much media bs
sad to see Kamui exit formula 1 at a very early stage in his career. if he could only have had the sponsorship money, he couldve reached his potential.
Naturally I guess idk when I sim race sometimes I do it too when I know there’s an upcoming shift on the straight I’ll extend my hand like that and shift at the moment idk it just feels more powerful
If this was 2007 or 2008, Kobayashi would've done so much better, especially in a higher team. These cars just didn't have the aero to keep up with the drivers. Yes, they were drivable, but they were barely driver-centric.
God knows the FIA hasn't exactly got the best track record (ha) when it comes to selecting which venues we race at, but let's take a moment to be grateful this boring stop-start 90-degree-angle paradise of a track is no longer on the calendar.
One of the most underrated drivers to ever be behind the wheel of an F1 car. Glad he’s in WEC now.
he had so much potential
Anthony Mcgill
Yeah
It he signs in Mercedes he could be closer to HAM
A good driver. Shame he lost his seat only because he didn't have enough money to provide.
Modern F1.
@Tzeff NL Racing nahh Perez is better then ocon imo

Such an underrated driver imo.
Wasnt underrated, everybody knew and talked about his talent back then

He shifts up like he wants to destroy the pedal
He was a good driver though.
he just thinking the rear is so shit on this car is there any point in upshifting
Pedal?
paddle shifter*

If only Kobayashi paired with Hülkenberg in 2013, Sauber could have been way more up in points and standings 🙄
True, but I think Sauber got a huge discount on Ferrari engines, or even free ones, if they had a Ferrari protege in their other seat.
I’m curious to see what his Cup Series ride will be like this upcoming Sunday.
Great lap by a great driver on a great circuit.👌
love this track :D
Koboyashi was the driver I vaugely remember from years ago, the one reason I remember that name is because he was a good driver, and boy he was.
The last sector of this track is completely amazing.
This circuit really needs to return to the F1 calender.
I vistied it 7 years later. Took a ride on it with my bike
I love how he middle-fingers with every upshift

This wasnt a hot lap.
But anyway, Kamui is fast driver.
Really good at WEC
Koba 🇯🇵👍
My guy just beats these cars and pushes them to the limits, especially on overtakes. No f**** given at all, good racing.

When Chelsea sponsored an f1 team lol
Valencia was a good circuit
Shame he didn't have longer

rip track
These cars seem so slippery compare to today's car
Such a nervous car!
Guys like Kamui were good for f1 it's a shame he didn't get better opportunities.
What's with the exaggerated shifting? Personal technique or did he have to be that aggressive?
Fun
Personal preference
Looks like he is « charging » his fingers before upshipting. It’s funny
Were the paddles that heavy he has to lift his finger that high or is that just a thing he does?
