- Today we look at the brand new Madrid Street Circuit which will host the Spanish GP from 2026 onwards. Rumours had been speculating when or if this would be happening and it seems that all sides agreed well as the Circuit has also signed at 10-year deal to keep it's place on the F1 calendar until 2035. what a rubbish track the new Madrid street circuit is nothing on old school Barcelona track
The idea is great but in the day in age in real life where everything is supposed to be about safety I just don't see it here.. so many corners that look like instant death if something catastrophic happens
That 4th corner just looks so fast and dangerous
Its meant to be some sort of chicane, the cars won't be going there in 8th gear irl lol

Qualifying laps would go crazy, and if those elevation changes are actually accurate that's even crazier
After the first tunnel the uphill climbs suddenly more than 10 meters in height, they have already said that there will be a compression effect there, and the big curve will be banked at 30% inclination, 6 seconds of sustained G's. Every detail that is being given about the circuit makes it clear to me that it is going to be an incredible race.

The big curve at the minute 0:35 they have said that it will be cambered with an inclination of 30°, 6 secs of pure G's. Every detail that is published makes me more clear that this circuit is going to be a great show.

@@Unaltrobambino10Except Zandvoort last corner has 19° angle. That one in Madrid will have 30°, so almost same as Daytona.

Yeah lap 1 incidents for everyone! Even if everyone cooperates with driving side by side and isn't trying to pass corners like that are notorious for lap 1 nonsense, you get a bunch of people fighting for position when there's no other chance to pass? Oh boy I wonder what's going to happen!
Not excited about it being another street circuit but the layout so far seems miles better than Miami at least.
At least Miami looks like a race track. Las Vegas reminds me to fanmade rfactor tracks. Yes, it had a good race but ot doesn't mean it's a good track.

Las Vegas had so many overtakes as a street track, and it basically paid itself onto the calendar. You haven't actually seen the race so don't jude the track yet

Honestly doesn’t look that bad, this one looks like there is no room for mistakes, reminds me a bit of Singapore and Monaco the way you have to go through some of the corners so close to the wall, I’m willing to give it a chance to at least see how the first race is

I dont get the fascination with street circuirs oe f1 circuirs in general where there a so few overtaking zones. We wanna watch a race not a 2hour qualy lap

Sector 1 reminded me of Mexico, then I got Bathurst and Dragon Trail vibes, but it'll probably be another Miami with a tad more elevation

Madrid, the Spanish capital, will host a Formula 1 Grand Prix race from 2026 onwards with Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso.
It’s a lot faster here than it’s probably going to be, the street sections between the buildings will be very tight I think. Could be like Baku, could be like Monaco - and I’m leaning hard towards it being like Monaco, or the Dallas track from 1984.
With the rate you put out new content, I could definitely say that you are faster than 9 teams in f1.

The spots that seemed like potential cheeky overtake spots are not as overtakey and they seemed.

This seems like a halfway point between Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and Mount Panorama
Thats a lot different to the one we've seen before, also it's a perfect mix of Saudi Arabia, Miami, Baku, and St Petersburg in indycar

This actually looks pretty interesting for a street track, I'll be pleasantly surprised if those corkscrew-like chicanes are actually like that on the real thing though

Looks like Baku in reverse, kinda. Long straight(ish) on one side, stair-step pattern opposite, loop at the far end.

I’m gonna remain open minded till the GP. We still got 2 years till it gets here and we’re gonna have new f1 cars. That said, the track has a weird, but nice flow to it so maybe it’ll be alright 🤷🏾♂️

Need closer walls at Turn 1. Everybody will just go their own way at the start knowing the Stewards will just say "yeah, a turn 1 thing on Lap 1". Close in the walls or add some gravel close to the track.
A lot like Bathurst, with bits of Montreal and Istanbul

This will definitely be a great lap for qualifying, but the race I don't have any hopes. There's pretty much no room to overtake anywhere

I won't. It' a b trc. How o I know that Barcelona is bad? I raced on it on Forza Motorsport 6, 7 and F1 20, 21 and 22and it's not good at all.
It's not a good F1 track at all. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Yeah, sector 1 may be good, but that's the only positive thing I have to say about it, in addition to the fact that the sector 3 chicane at Barcelona is terrible.@@RowdyFan8

I have a hard time believing this track isn't modified before the lights go out in 2026. That T4 chicane is a downright deathtrap, the flat out banked turn is going to eat tires, and multiple braking points just straight up don't have enough room for proper runoff. This feels like they rushed to get a design out rather than thinking about the actual raceability of it all.

not bad, i do like it. can i add that i would like to see more of the traditional non street tracks retuned though..sepang, istanbul park and estoril. guys i don’t want to rain in on the hard work that is being done for this new track. its looks good, fast and challenging, but from a safety side of things..street circuits are far more dangerous with no run offs etc and from a money side of things, surely it would be better to revamp and upscale to f1 standards to an existing track such as estoril rather than build a whole new venue. i could be wrong in this.

This looks tons of fun but don't worry, by 2026 FIA will add 10 extra chicanes to the layout to spoil all the fast, big ball corners like at Las Vegas.
Turn 4 is a death trap.
Brilliant move by F1. Racing on parking lots and roundabouts is much better than purpose built tracks imo.
Entirely the course is quite similar to Sochi

Pit out right in the racing line into turn one? That doesn't seem like a good idea. Other than that I love this track!
Struggle to see any overtake opportunities. Main straight is too short; the second large straight is interrupted by the high-speed chicane...
With predicted laptimes around 12 second slower than this, there surely are some corners that will be made significantly slower. This is even more dangerous than Jeddah, especially the turn before the first underpass. I am sure they will put a slow corner there. Also the very fast S right next to a wall will never get through. Plus the run through the banked corner is way to fast with no run off, and much tighter than Zandvoorts last turn. The final sector looks a bit more believable, even if run off is still a problem there. Nice try though and at least there is some elevation to keep it interesting.
How many more street tracks are going to build why not bring in some other tracks like mugello or how about some of the moto gp tracks like Indonesia and Thailand
this is Europe's Jeddah. if one car derails in turn 4, the resr crashes blindly into the melee with over 170 kph.
