The reason Kreacher was acting differently towards Harry than he did to Hermione is because Sirius not only left Grimauld Place (the former headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix) to Harry in a will but Harry also inherited Kreacher as well. As a result Kreacher is magically bound to obey Harry. Harry never freed Kreacher because Dumbledore asked Harry not to due to Kreacher knowing way to much about The Order of the Phoenix secret group.
When Harry found out about Regelus Black being R.A.B Kreacher told Harry about how Regelus use to be a Deatheater during the first war. But one day Regelus found out that Voldemort was using his favorite house elf to experiment on when he was creating the evil magical defenses in the cave where the Slytherin locket was originally located. When Kreacher told Harry about how he was tortured by Voldemort and how Regelus sacrifice himself to save Kreacher, Harry felt sorry for Kreacher to the point that he gifted Kreacher the fake Slytherin locket that use to belong to Regelus. From that moment on Kreacher changed his attitude not only towards Harry but he began to be kind to Hermione and Ron as well.

If a person is taught to be a slave from childhood, then it is very likely that many will cling to the image of a slave.
The life of a free person brings much more difficulties than free people think. At least from the point of view of those who are used to being a slave.
That is why, by the way, in addition to giving slaves freedom, they still need to be helped to get used to freedom, otherwise it is not much better than throwing pets out in the cold "For good".
Well, regarding the world of magic, the very nature of these creatures may be involved.
Unfortunately, I'm not an expert here, I don't understand the Rowling universe.

Things unadapted in this movie (I'll try to make it as spoiler free for the last movie):
    1. The movie leaves out the Dursleys leaving, which reveals that Dudley had gone through something of a redemption since the Dementor attack. He had come to appreciate Harry, openly worrying for him as Harry was not going with them into hiding. Petunia also shows signs of a redemption (of sorts), but ultimately says nothing.
    2. Hermione doesn't actually use Obliviate in the books. She uses a separate spell to modify their memories into thinking their identities are different, that they have no daughter and that they want to move to Australia, which they manage to do before Harry arrives at the Burrow.
    3. The convo with the minister devolved into a huge argument. The ministry wanted Harry to side with them as a "mascot" (Harry's words) but Harry didn't like how the ministry was hiding information. It got to the point that they almost got into a fight. The minister poked Harry with his wand and Ron had to be held back from attacking the Minister of Magic. I repeat, Ron almost attacked the leader of the wizarding community because of an argument he had with Harry.
    4. Kreacher actually belongs to Harry now, as Sirius left everything he ever owned to Harry. Harry warms up quite a bit to Kreacher upon hearing his tale, which softens him up a bit as well. The story goes that Regulus had volunteered Kreacher when Tom had asked for a House Elf. Turns out, he wanted to test the potion protecting the locket, which he made Kreacher drink and then he left him there. Kreacher returned because Regulus had ordered him to do so, proving once again that Voldy refuses to learn that "creatures beneath him" knows magic he doesn't. Upon learning what happened, Regulus panicked and told Kreacher to hide himself for a while and then asked Kreacher to take him where the Dark Lord had taken him. Regulus ordered Kreacher to put the fake locket into the basin, return home and try to destroy the real locket before drinking the potion himself and then get taken under the lake. He also ordered Kreacher to not tell his parents what had happened, leaving Mrs Black heartbroken with grief and worry since she never learned what happened to her baby boy. For all of her bigotry, that was one thing she did not deserve.
    5. The argument between Ron and Harry is a lot more lopsided against Ron in the movies (big surprise). Firstly, they were starving as they hadn't had a good meal for days (Harry was fine with it since the Dursleys used to often starve him and Hermione had gone camping and so was not a completely stranger to the idea that she could go without a meal). He was also very badly injured, having lost a lot of blood and they had recently learned that Ginny (along with Neville and Luna) had been punished by Snape for trying to steal the sword. All of this, while wearing the locket compounded the worries for his family, kickstarting the argument. The line about Harry's parents was also said by Harry in the books, not Ron. This is yet another attempt at the movies trying to make Ron look terrible.
    6. After Harry escapes Voldy in Godric's Hollow, we get a full blow-by-blow of the night he attacked infant Harry. He almost kills a muggle kid that thought his "costume" was really cool (the attack happened on Halloween). James had been playing with Harry and did not have his wand on him. He kills James and moves on to Lily, who he offers the choice to step away. Lily does not take the offer and this is what activates the sacrificial love protection on Harry.
    7. The thief was Gellert Grindelwald, a dark wizard second only to Voldy himself. He almost conquered Europe until he was stopped by Dumbledore in what is called the most legendary duel in wizarding history. This duel was supposed to be the climax of fantastic beasts movies, but unfortunately they've been canceled so we're not gonna see them. Grindelwald also does not give away that he had the elder wand. He came to regret his actions after his defeat and he openly mocked Voldy, to his face, that he won't win.
    8. Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) was spared in the movies. In the books, Ron and Harry have a struggle with Wormtail leading to him trying to choke Harry out with his silver hand. When Harry reminded him that Harry had saved his life (in PoA), Wormtail hesitated for a slight second and his hand immediately turned on him and choked him to death. For what it's worth, Harry and Ron did try to save Wormtail, but the hand was too strong. Voldemort ensured that Wormtail would not be able to betray him. Yet another name to the long list of people that Voldy has killed.

"Dobby, is this the Shell Cottage?" Harry whispered, holding tightly the two wands he'd brought from Malfoy's, ready to fight if necessary. "Did we arrive at the right place? Dobby?"
He looked around. The small house elf was standing right next to him
    "DOBBY!"
The house elf swayed a little, stars reflecting from his big, glimmering eyes. At the same moment, both of them looked down to the silvery knife handle that stuck out of the elf's heaving chest
"Dobby - no - HELP!" Harry yelled towards the cottage, towards the people moving inside. "HELP!"
He neither knew, or cared, whether they were muggles or wizards, friends or foes; Nothing else mattered to him, except the dark stain that was spreading on Dobby's front, and the skinny arms that reached pleadingly towards him.
Harry took the elf on his arms, and set him down, on his side, on the cool grass
    "Dobby, no, don't die, don't die -"
The house elf's gaze found Harry's, and his lips trembled as he tried to speak.
    "Harry... Potter..."
And then the elf shuddered, and never moved again afterwards. And his eyes were nothing but big glassy orbs, sprinkled with light from the stars they could no longer see.

One bit they gloss over is who exactly Gellert Grindelwald is. He was essentially Voldemort's predecessor, a dark wizard who came into power in the early 20th century and who started a wizarding war that mirrored WW2, a conflict that he stoked the flames of, because his main goal was to get as many muggles killed as possible so that they would easily be taken over by wizards, who would rule them as a master race. The bit that hits hard is that in his youth, Gellert Grindelwald came to live with his aunt Bathilda Bagshot in Godric's Hollow, and there met a young Albus Dumbledore. The two fell in love, and started to plan the early stages of the wizarding takeover, but when a duel between Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Albus's younger brother Aberforth led to the death of Dumbledore's sister Ariana, the two parted ways and Dumbledore changed his views in shame. In 1945, Dumbledore battled and defeated Grindelwald in what is considered the most epic duel in history, and took the Elder Wand from Grindelwald.
And as far as House Elves, their slavery is not because they got overpowered. House Elves have a natural mindset where they like manual labor and helping people. Left on their own they would still do chores and other forms of work. The wizards lack of ethics involves actually enslaving the elves instead of living with them as equals. They're taking advantage of a species in this manner.

There was nothing in the actual Harry Potter books to confirm that Dumbledore was even gay, much less that they were lovers. And J.K. Rowling is pretty infamous for her revisionism, trying to pretend she was more inclusive than she was. I mean, she claims that Hermione is black, but there's clear descriptions of her skin being white. Now, if you want to count her revisionism and the Fantastic Beasts movies as part of the canon, then sure. But you should at least preface it with that caveat.

    • @robertgronewold3326
      @robertgronewold3326 Год назад +14

@@peterlewis2178 She literally announced that he was gay during the press tour for the final book in 2007. Her editor had her tone down the reveal that he was gay within the book, because at the time, it still was not widely accepted in 'children's' literature, despite the final book being far from a childhood read. The extend that JKR wrote on the matter was that they were 'closer than brothers', but that line was omitted, even though it was extremely gay PG.
Also, she never 'claimed' that Hermione was black. She merely said that it was okay if they hired a black actress, because the only descriptive terms used within the books were that she had bushy brown hair and large front teeth. Her skin color was never specifically mentioned, so she didn't make a fuss when they brought in a black actress for the stage play. Personally, I never thought of Hermione as black, but seeing a black actress does not offend me.

House elves have very strong magic. Historically wizards have been arrogant and see themselves at the top of the hierarchy so relations with other magical beings like centaurs, goblins, and house elves have always been strained. My theory is that wizards somehow got house elves "bound" to them in order to keep them in line. A house elf is bound to a family for their entire life and they HAVE to do what they're told, that's why Kreacher Dissaparated when Harry told him to find Mundungus
Kreacher's story isn't in the movies but it's really sad (I'll explain after the next movie). In the books Dobby plays a much bigger role and we see him a lot more. He ends up working at the Hogwarts kitchens and Dumbledore pays him every week. He was on the run as, to the Ministry, he was Muggle-born, a fact that is not true as Dean's biological father was a wizard who left him and his mother to protect them from the First Wizarding War. This would made Dean a Half-Blood. However, because he couldn't prove it, he was force to run away to avoid imprisonment. He would later meet up with a group made of two Muggle-born wizards (that included Tonks' dad who was a Muggle-born) and two goblins, but they ended up captured, with Tonks and the other wizard, along with one of the goblings, being killed.

    So, to explain few things:
    1. Rufus Scrimgeour, the new Prime Minister in this movie in the book actually appeared in Half-Blood Prince. In fact, I belive that entire first chapter of HBP is dedicated to Fudge transfering his powers to Scrimgeour. It also showed that Muggle Prime Ministers are aware of Magical Community since every time Prime Minister or Minister of Magic changes or something is happening, Minister of Magic directly goes to Prime Minister's office. This is how, by the way, both Wizards and Muggles knew about Sirius Black escaping Azakaban in POA and declaring hunt for him.
    2. Kreacher, the house elf at Grimould Place listened to Harry's orders because Harry actually owns him. After Sirius died, Harry inherited the Place and Kreacher along. And during Half-Blood Prince, Harry actually recieves the rights to the place and that piece of mirror that we see in this film constantly. But under what circumstances Harry gets it - I don't remember.

3:30 Hallow means to consecrate, make something holy. A hallow in this context is means a sacred item, which is kinda archaic word at this point. Deathly Hallows - in this series directly mean Sacred Items from Death or in some contexts Sacred Gifts or Insignia (some languages translated it to similar synonims - especially as all the items kinda resemble royal insignia: sceptre, globus cruciger and crown - in this case cape kinda replacing the crown, fitting for artifacts supposedly granting an immense power and potentially maybe even control over Death itself).
4:10 Impact of the scene - even if Draco didn't take Muggle Studies he most likely has met Burbage before as she likely took over after Quirrell, who taught it before he taught Defence. Snape obviously was her coworker and maybe even a friend. This makes the scene even more horrifying.
5:50 Phoenixes usually only give one feather during their lifetime after being coerced by wand makers. Fawkes - Dumbledore's Phoenix gave two - both ultimately made into Harry's and Tom's wands.
32:05 In books - Minister comes during Harry's Birthday Party, which happens before the wedding. I guess they wanted to streamline the plot here.
38:00 It's annoying that we had so many moments with Dobby in the books and most of them were cut or given to other characters in the movies. But it's even more annoying that instead of normal clothes Dobby was wearing (well he wore mismatched stacks, but still clothes) - they only gave him shoes in the movie and kept the ugly Malfoy rug.
44:35 In books when they came back to retrieve Moody's body - it was gone... Here Harry finds his magical eye imbeded in Unbridge's doors. One of the reasons why they were found out in the first place, as he stole it.
1:09:20 One detail Nagini has used here - Harry never can recognise Parseltongue from normal English.

    Some explaination:
Voldemort split his soul into 7 pieces intentionally by creating 6 Horcruxes plus his main body. 7 is a very powerful magical number in Harry Potter.
That's probably also why they used 7 Harrys at the beginning to distract the deatheaters.
Voldemort didn't split his soul more because that would weaken him and destroy his sould even more. Nobody had ever tryed to make so many Horcruxes. Voldemorts soul was already mutilated beyond repair with splitting it 7 times.
And Harry could not just get the Sword out of the water with Hermione because the Sword of Gryffindor can only be obtained by an act of bravery (like fighting na Basilisk or jumping into frozen over water). That's why Harry had to do it that way.

It's not just house elves that can do magic without wands. Wizards and witches can do it too, if they learn it.
There is a wizarding school in Uganda, the Uagadou School of Magic, where they don't use wands, and learn to do spells without one.
Other schools, like Hogwarts in Scotland, and Ilvermorny in USA, use wands, because it's easier to master.
Also, house elves are slaves because they want to work and want to be useful. After the Chamber of Secrets, Dobby applied to work at the Hogwarts kitchen, because he wanted to work too.
And the knife that Bellatrix threw was a push dagger. Not a kunai. (Also, kunai were not throwing weapons. They were gardening tools.)

Hallow is something sacred. A liturgical term adopted from Orthodoxy. Something can be hallowed in the name of the God.

I don't know if you plan on reading the books sometime but if not here is one of my most favourite parts of the book that was sadly left out and that is Kreacher's and Regulus' story:
Regulus became a Death Eater at a very young age (their parents weren't but they were very much for the ideals Voldemort stood for - hate of Muggles, purebloodedness, wizard superiority etc.). Voldemort requested a House Elf one day and Regulus offered Kreacher (Kreacher liked him, because not like Sirius Regulus was actually nice to him). Regulus told Kreacher that no matter what happened, he had to come back to him. Regulus had probably already wanted to leave the Death Eaters at this point and saught a way to end Voldemort). Voldy took Kreacher to the cave where the locket was hidden to test his safety measures with Kreacher. He let him drink the potion and then left him there to get killed by the Inferi. But because he is an Elf and always has to obey his Master's commands he disapparated from the cave back to Regulus. He told him everything and Regulus ordered him to bring him to the cave. They got to the island, where Regulus made Kreacher promise to destroy the locket (he tried later but wasn't able to), then Regulus drank the potion and was killed by the Inferi. Kreacher was distraught but left with the locket as ordered.
It is one of the saddest parts of Deathly Hallows but I love that it is part of Voldemort's downfall - as Hermione points out - that he doesn't consider the magic of creatures he deems lesser than himself could be so much more powerful. In his own feeling of superiority he makes mistakes that will cost im a lot in the end.
And as Hermione also pointed out: Sirius treated Kreacher more like Voldemort so Kreacher betrayed him which got Sirius killed. "I've said all along that wizards would pay for how they treat house-elves. Well, Voldemort did... and so did Sirius."

    From the Harry Potter wiki:
House-elves had always been subjected to work with wizards who they treated as their 'masters', and the way they were treated and how they behaved were subject to the laws of their country's wizarding government, known as Elf Legislation.
The guidelines on house-elf welfare were a set of regulations passed by the British Ministry of Magic regarding the treatment of house-elves. Despite their existence at the time, these guidelines were not enforced by the Ministry of Magic by 1996,[7] and therefore many wizarding households such as the Malfoys and the Blacks mistreated their elves. This led wizards such as Albus Dumbledore and Hermione Granger to personally work to improve the lives of these creatures.

While it is true that Elves are powerful. It is precisely because they don't have wands and they don't know the wand making process that they can't overthrow wizards. Wizards are the only ones who know how to produce wands which gives them an edge over other magical races like Goblins and Elves. Wizards can use magic without wands we saw Harry do it in the 3rd and 1st movie. Wands just help focus the magic and makes it easier to cast spells. Also the reason he was able to apparate inside was not because Dobbys magic is stronger. It is because Elven magic works differently. Add to that Goblins and Elves are smaller and physically much weaker than wizards. So it is much easier to kill them as we saw with Dobby.

Many of those families are already quite interconnected and many wizarding families only have one child (draco, Luna, Neville etc) it’s only the Weasleys that have such a big family. So every generation they would halve how many families there were as each married to another… and so on until they’d be like Voldemorts family, all destroyed by inbreeding and incest. To disapparate means to disappear from somewhere and appear somewhere else. In the books, each 'Harry' had a protector, real harry went with Hagrid and Mundungus was paired with Moody. Voldemort went straight after Moody when they flew up and the death eaters descended because they figured that Harry would be riding with the strongest aurors, Madeye being the best of them. Mundungus saw voldemort and went POOF and the killing curse hit Madeye straight on - his mechanical eye was actually taken and was put into the door of Dolores Umbridge's office - Harry takes it out when the trio go to the ministry under the disguise of Polyjuice potion to retrieve the horcrux locket.

Voldy deliberately made 6 horcruxes: the 7th part of his soul is in him otherwise he would be like someone who had suffered the dementors's kiss! House elves were bred to become slaves, this is altered 20 years later (after this time zone) with a change of policy in the ministry of magic. Wizards can do magic without wands (the wand channels the magic for better results). Goblins have fought wars over the wizard's refusal to allow other magical creatures wands.

Unlike humans elves are not power-crazed maniacs happy to use whatever means at their disposal to attain dominance over their peers and those weaker (or stronger) than them. They actually like to work and to serve - the fault then lies with those who exploit that.

We have same thought bro🙃 somehow the antagonist character just chilling and do whatever they wants, while protagonist lose people they love and depressed, it plays like that in lots of anime also, for example "One Piece". Because it also like that in real life, many people that I know keep being greedy and just bad live longer compared to people that doing good deeds😥😞 it's just like that you know😔 just a bit unfair but it is how it is

Can't lie. QUIT saying "Harry needs to kill someone!"
If y'all love Dumbledore, then y'all wouldn't say that at ALL.
Part of Dumbledore's plan, while preparing Harry, is TO KEEP HARRY'S SOUL INTACT.
And what have we learned rips a soul??

    • @AgarParth
      @AgarParth 7 месяцев назад

Murder of an innocent fractures a soul, not rips it apart. And killing in defense is far from a murder. Also, Dumbledore is not the paragon of good. The only reason he abhors killing is because of his father. Otherwise, it can be argued that the war could have been stopped much earlier if Dumbledore had simply killed Voldemort before the prophecy was told. Maybe not completely killed (because of the soul jars) but at least it would have been a step in the right direction.

    • @AgarParth
      @AgarParth 7 месяцев назад

Also, didn't Harry technically kill Voldemort and Quirrell? He also erased Gilderoy's memories, albeit it was accidental and some people may argue that his fate was deserved. He could've learned to do the same to the death eaters he came across. Afterall there is a high chance that Dumbledore's plan wouldn't have worked without the plot armour.

@@AgarParth I don't think he was intending to kill him.

It is interesting to me that Umbridge has her own special level of hatred from Potter fans even above villains like Voldemort or Bellatrix Lestrange and that's myself included. There is just something about her that's disturbing. The way covers up her wickedness with pink and fluffiness and takes such obvious joy in it.
