This movie does so many things right. The characters, their development, the fight choreography, the lessons, how well it depicts ancient China, it's all so great. One part I really like, and often see overlooked, is how after Po lays out his insecurities to Shifu, we see that Tigress heard the whole thing and finally started to soften up and feel sorry for him, and realized he was actually taking Kung Fu seriously, not "treating it like a joke" as she previously stated.
Not sure if you guys watched until after the credits, but there's a little bit of Shifu and Po eating together by the sacred peach tree and there's a sprout behind them from the peach stone planted by Shifu and Oogway
The best dynamic here (there are so many) is with the scroll...It shows you. And hear how the characters react to it, Po says "it's blank" because he hasn't proven himself yet. Even with all the training he doesn't entirely believe in himself. Tai Lung says "It's nothing"...He looks at himself and he sees nothing. He wasted his life. There's no meaning because he was always chasing the dream Shifu gave him.
What I found hilarious is that when this movie first came out, rumors began spreading that the country of China were flabbergasted how a “western” film represented the Chinese culture almost perfectly X)
For some reason, I hated this movie as a kid. When I rewatched it as an adult, I was so disappointed in my younger self. This is legitimately one of my favorite movies now.
Shout out to this guy. Most reactors never see it from the perspective of the furious 5. Imagine working hard all your life for this. Devoting your whole life to the cause only to be on the sidelines and lose to someone with zero experience. The most important thing is they came around in the end. It's very awful to say they're shit for feeling the way they did. THEY HAD EVERY RIGHT TO.

The difference between American and Chinese movies is that Americans believe in the “chosen one” concept. While in Chinese movies, if you work for it, you’ll be rewarded. 25:50 makes me think they don;t have alot of experience with western animation. even the best anime Anime hardly ever does these small, shifting facial expression to convey so much emotion, while Western animated movies do this alot.

the only thing i dislike a bit about the movie is how much weaker they made Tai - lung in his fight against Po . i mean, watch the Prisonbreak scene and his fight with Po back to back. you cant seriously tell me that this is the same Tai Lung.

Tai Lung worked his ass off for more than 20 years and mastered the 1000 scrolls of kung fu to not get what he worked so hard for. I understand why tai lung is so mad.
I feel like since Tailung was driven by selfish intent he couldn’t be the warrior. And Po could because he is pure of heart and yes he trained with shifu until he believed he be ready for the final lesson. Be yourself.
Oogway's farewell is a strange experience. On one hand, we are sad to see hm go, sad fo the loss of wisdom and guidance. but at the same time, we not only understand his reasonng (he is old) But also his desire to have peace, and we accept this, and share nin him achieveing the final peace. Like a sacred thing, meant for the eyes of a few. It is a beautiful scene that displays both masters point of view, and how they are both correct. But also that the elder wisdom usually emerges as the true wisdom

Tai Lung escaping prison through 1000 guards felt like playing a level in The Force Unleashed and only having to deal with 1000 stormtroopers.
