Tai Lung had the most genuine and most reasonable crash out, I mean this man trained his hardest for 20 years only for one person to say *Nahh* to his hardwork and on top of that he was imprisoned for 20 years (forgotten by his father), and even after getting the scroll this man realized that all that effort went to a golden scroll with no text
His downfall was not being able to accept Shi Fus truth, and apology. He’s kind of like Anakin in that way, that you can understand *How* they got to that point, but then it’s how they continue to go about it After the point of Redemption, that makes them a true Villain
His fight with Shifu is one of the best character moments DreamWorks has done. Just their conversation and what it says. Shifu says it wasn't his fault that Tai Lung fell because he wasn't supposed to be the Dragon Warrior. But that almost makes it worse for Tai Lung because now instead of training so hard and not getting picked and thinking he wasn't good enough, he's being told that all the training in the world wouldn't have helped because it was never going to be him anyway. Which then begs the question for him to ask (which he kinda does) if he was never meant to be it, why did Shifu let him think he was, why did he train him so hard? That one scene makes Tai Lung probably one of the most sympathetic and understandable villains, while not trying to water down any of the evil things he's done.
@@justsomeguywholovesberserk6375 Funny thing about that is, the filmmakers had to add that scene in later before release because the test audience were all on Tai Lung's side.
When Po opened the Dragon Scroll he said "it's blank", while Tai Lung said "it's nothing", which I think is a great detail to highlight the difference between them

It drove him to succeed and become outrageously powerful, yes, but Shifu never prepared him for a failure he couldn't overcome with that power. Kung Fu Panda 2 is straight up one of the top 3 animated movies of all time, right up there with the first SpiderVerse and Tangled. Top 5 would also have How to Train Your Dragon 1 and the original animated Lion King
@@alamar143 those are great films as well, tbh I would have a hard time making a top 5 animated films because there are just so many amazing animated movies
It’s crazy how the final fight of the movie references earlier moments in the movie. There’s honestly too much to mention but like the stairs, dumplings, noodles, climbing, fireworks, and more are all present in the fight.
Editor's note: "Please never watch Zootopia." 1) Watch Zootopia, it'd be _hilarious_ to see your reaction. 2) If you _really_ want him to not watch something... make it the anime Beastars. >:) For the record, Shifu (the small one) is a red panda. So... it's a story of two pandas. Also, 'Shifu' is Chinese (can't recall if it's Mandarin or Cantonese) for 'master'. So 'Master Shifu' is 'Master Master'. One of the great things about this movie is all the callbacks it makes to previous events in the fight with Tai Lung. You saw him training with food, he visualized food to get there. You saw him do the thing with the bowls and bun, he later uses that to slow Tai Lung down. At the start he used fireworks as rocket propulsion, in the fight he does it again. Every step of the way he learns something through the movie and in the penultimate fight he uses it. You get the same _sort_ of think with Legend of Drunken Master (with Jackie Chan), though in _that_ case it's not that Chan's character is _learning_ all those things, it's that he demonstrates the moves here and there a bit in minor scuffles leading up to the major fight, as well as the problems he's having as a Drunken Boxer, and then at the end uses all those techniques he's been displaying _as well as_ overcoming the problem he was suffering. It's really good storytelling, where the future events unfold _because of_ the prior events rather than events earlier seeming to have no relevance except to _lead to_ those later things. Unfortunately, writers of some fiction are driven to 'get to' rather than 'because of', in part because they look _really_ similar (so much so that it's hard to point out a concrete difference), but ultimately stories that do this badly... just end up not being very good movies, because you're left asking 'why would that happen' until you get to the end and have a use for it, which has causality backwards. In _this_ movie there was one where that _almost_ happened. The bowls. Why would Shifu teach that stuff fiddling around with the bowls? It seems odd, but then speed and dexterity, especially of the hands, will be needed for things like those nerve attacks or similar strikes, so there might be some sense there. But it's a bit of a stretch. The others, the fireworks and the food, make perfect sense, so this one being a bit iffy is forgivable. In any case, there's a _reason_ that there's a 2, 3, and 4. Though 4 wasn't _as_ good, but still _really_ good.
To be fair to the furious five, imagine training your whole life to be a Kung Fu master so you might have the chance at being the Dragon Warrior, only for some random panda, who doesn't even know kung fu, come in out of nowhere and become the chosen one. You'd resent them at first too
“Tell me how proud you are, SHIFU!” That line always hits. After it’s all said and done… Tai Lung is actually, genuinely, hurting. He’s wrong, but he’s hurting
Tai Lung's dialogue during his fight with Shifu is probably the best part of the movie for me... "Who denied me my destiny!!" It's just straight fire writing 🔥
Fun fact: Shifu's name is a little funny in Chinese. It literally translates to "Master." Or teacher. In these movies, everyone basically calls him Master "Master". Have fun thinking about that one. Another example is when Miles says Chai Tea in Across the Spiderverse and gets called out for it. In this movie, no one mentions it at all.
34:09 This. People love to defend Tai Lung for this. They say everything he does was justified because he was the real victim. But bad things happen to everybody. We don't all turn into super villains over our pains. Tai Lung is just proving what Oogway saw in him. That darkness and ego. If he did get the scroll and it wasn't what he wanted, he wouldn't have saw the secret and most likely would've rampaged anyway.
But it's kinda of shifu's fault, because if he didn't fill Tai Lung with dreams and actually tried to prepare Tai Lung to the possibility of not being the dragon warrior I guarantee that it wouldn't have ended the way it did
this and the sequel are some of my favourite movies ever. Also, you're I think the first reaction I've seen to actually notice that Po doesn't eat the dumpling because he's no longer upset
Oogway being a turtle is a brilliant metaphor actually, because the Kung fu masters that are full of wisdom and live by wise martial arts philosophy are often very calm and collected, to them you don’t try to control life, you just let the river of life flow, and so having him be an animal that’s seen as very slow and barely has any energy matches perfectly with his way of thinking
17:30 Y'know, for once this ain't on the guards, this is on Shifu. Doubling the guards, doubling the weapons, double everything? We would've just gotten an even bigger massacre than we got already, Tai Lung is just THAT good. Tai Lung only escaped because the messenger goose arrived, and one of his feathers happened to fall directly in front of Tai Lung, which wouldn't have happened if Shifu hadn't panicked and sent him to deliver that message to begin with. In trying to prevent it, Shifu caused Tai Lung's escape "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it" Edit: 27:58 You see, THIS, THIS is why I love watching you react to stuff. Adult jokes and commentary aside, you can easily be one of the most observant and insightful reactors I've ever watched just on the drop of a dime, you're literally the only person I've seen react to the movie pick up on that

15:52 I liked how it was a "self-fulfilling prophecy" if the duck hadn't gone to check on Tai Lung then he wouldn't have been able to break out and Po wouldn't have become the "Dragon Warrior."
Fun fact. Each of the furious 5 have fighting styles that actually embody the kung fu styles based off them. Po does as well, as the Dragon Warrior, where dragon style emphasizes using your opponents own strength against them.
Finally someone gets it.. when he said hes not hungry, he wasn't upset anymore :) I know its hard to get it all after watching only one time but im glad you felt everything not only making fun but also understanding.. Most people just fake the reaction and just laughs lol.. I like all of your reaction btw.. well never commented !!!
One of the reasons why I love the Kung Fu Panda series because it showed me how versatile of an actor Jack Black can be. While he is known for being silly he can also be surprisingly emotional & mature when the situation calls for it.
0:34... Aaron, many of us (especially those in the film/editing world) would love to watch a breakdown of how you edit his videos. What your process is and such.
a little Detail, When Tai Lung sees the Stroll he says it's "NOTHING" but when Po sees it he says it's "EMPTY" implying Tai Lung believed he was Nothing without the stroll cuz he trained his whole life for it but Po embraced it's true self so the Destiny like himself was fulfilled!
I love this movie series so much and the Oogway and Shifu talk is so good. Because both are correct when it comes to the argument of control but Oogway understands that even if you can control things you still have no real control over anything about the world except what you do to yourself. It also leads to Shifu admitting how he doesn’t know all he thought he did which leads to him finally learning the correct way to teach Po. Such a fantastic trilogy.
"there was once a time when Master Shifu actually used to smile", in this edit, when him and po sits to eat, if you pause at the right moment, here its 27.01.08 he acctually does, as a small easter egg from the movie team
The intro took me off guard my dude lmao, love the silliness none the less! The fact these movies still hold up as some of the best animation still out there to this day is amazing, you can see the difference in lighting on fur, the sun rays, every tiny detail is AMAZING Edit: Im only 8 minutes in and your lack of animal knowledge has made me laugh a lot XD
@22:55 "oh God, dude i don't like needles.." and there's this guy, with some random art in his skin..oh is that a tattoo? Yup, ironically that explains it hahahaha
Both 2 and 3 are definitely worth watching. If he didn't send the dude to the prison, he wouldn't have been freed. "One often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it.”
Glad you finally got around to checking this movie out. Like How to Train Your Dragon, Kung Fu Panda 2 is one of the rare instances with a franchise getting a sequel right. And even King Fu Panda 3 is still pretty solid for a trilogy. And while Kung Fu Panda 4 is a considerable decline compared to the others, I personally don't think it deserves as much hate as people give it and it's at least worth watching it once to round out the franchise.
this is possibly the best martial arts movie ever made. In the theater I saw the Dragon Scroll scene and whispered out loudly "CIRCLE OF IRON!! THEY'RE PAYING HOMAGE TO CIRCLE OF IRON!!!!"
3:25 Also, please watch Zootopia, obviously. Because it is a great movie, and also because we will all have fun about with trying not to... "cross lines" that he just drew XD
I’ve never seen anyone really react to it but i would recommend watching both secrets of the furious five and secrets of the masters, they’re really short though but definitely deserves a watch
one detail that i like a lot and that a lot of ppl don’t seem to realize is that in the bridge scene, tigress isn’t necessarily just trying to stay balanced on the bridge, she is trying to keep control of her form. her and tai lung are siblings and mirrors of each other, so him flaunting around with open body language while she holds her stance is a direct reflection of how shifu trained them differently, with him loving tai lung and embracing his strength (which ultimately leads him to becoming entitled to the dragon scroll as he believes he’s the strongest) and limiting the affection he gives to tigress and teaching tigress to control her strength (this is explicitly stated in an animated short and shown in this movie where he corrects her form with the staff instead of demonstrating it like he did for tai lung). this is why she was very angry that po was chosen and why she berated him for being nothing like her (and tai lung), to her the idea that some complete random guy with no training (or influence from shifu) was actually the dragon warrior all along was completely unfathomable to her
Honestly can we blame shifu and the furious five for hating on po in the start. They dedicated their entire lives to kung fu and po just comes along as the dragon warrior without being able to walk up a few stairs.
Dreamworks rarely fails when it comes to their movies. The second film of Kung Fu Panda is my favorite the message in it I really love most. Love that you have a Believe tattoo and this movie's message was about believing. We need you to check out the rest of the series and Zootopia, you will love Judy. Oh and someone else mentioned Rush Hour you would love the humor in that series.

1) Watch Zootopia, it'd be _hilarious_ to see your reaction.
2) If you _really_ want him to not watch something... make it the anime Beastars. >:)
For the record, Shifu (the small one) is a red panda. So... it's a story of two pandas.
You'd resent them at first too
While I agree, he has Kung fu Knowledge. He just couldn’t perform it. So I wouldn’t say he DIDN’T know kung fu
13:53 In the Latin American dub she says "You would think master Oogway would choose someone who at least knows Kung Fu.".
Took bro long enough 😂
trueee
I know right? Before watching this I couldn’t believe he hadn’t seen this movie yet 😂
Sounds like oogway to kai in the spiritual realm lol
He’s like the most uncultured person ever 😂
dont you mean "rong enough" according to first 10 seconds Alex
“Tell me how proud you are, SHIFU!” That line always hits. After it’s all said and done… Tai Lung is actually, genuinely, hurting. He’s wrong, but he’s hurting
And Tai Lung was looking like some part of him WANTED to ACCEPT Shifus apology. But the rest of him was too far gone.
Monkey was voiced by Jackie Chan and he literally has like 2 lines the whole movie 😂😂😂
Hes got an expensive voice
Dear god never noticed that
4, by my count 🤓
I KNEW HE SOUNDED LIKE JACKIE CHAN
figuratively literally, not actually literally
Tai Lung's dialogue during his fight with Shifu is probably the best part of the movie for me... "Who denied me my destiny!!" It's just straight fire writing 🔥
Fun fact: Shifu's name is a little funny in Chinese.
It literally translates to "Master." Or teacher. In these movies, everyone basically calls him Master "Master". Have fun thinking about that one.
Another example is when Miles says Chai Tea in Across the Spiderverse and gets called out for it. In this movie, no one mentions it at all.
Or Muten Roshi in Dragon Ball. That means "Old man Master."
Also obligatory, "Do you think Master Roshi is my actual name?"
I mean... do you know what simba means? and basically all the names?
As self aware as this movie is, I'm sure it's an intentional inside joke
same for Oogway, which literally means turtle in chinese lol
That's what I'm saying in every single reaction video of KFP😂😂😂
It's like Master whole square 🤣🤣🤣
But it's kinda of shifu's fault, because if he didn't fill Tai Lung with dreams and actually tried to prepare Tai Lung to the possibility of not being the dragon warrior I guarantee that it wouldn't have ended the way it did
2:53 he legitimately might be cooked if he ever watches Zootopia if he hasn't already
Please never let him near Beastars, the tension would kill him!
Or The Bad Guys

this and the sequel are some of my favourite movies ever.
Also, you're I think the first reaction I've seen to actually notice that Po doesn't eat the dumpling because he's no longer upset
lets be real alex "i want to mate with tigress" is far from the worst thing we've heard u say 😂
😅😅😅
Well, this is the internet… part of the ship, part of the crew
Oogway being a turtle is a brilliant metaphor actually, because the Kung fu masters that are full of wisdom and live by wise martial arts philosophy are often very calm and collected, to them you don’t try to control life, you just let the river of life flow, and so having him be an animal that’s seen as very slow and barely has any energy matches perfectly with his way of thinking
17:30
Y'know, for once this ain't on the guards, this is on Shifu.
In trying to prevent it, Shifu caused Tai Lung's escape

You see, THIS, THIS is why I love watching you react to stuff.
Adult jokes and commentary aside, you can easily be one of the most observant and insightful reactors I've ever watched just on the drop of a dime, you're literally the only person I've seen react to the movie pick up on that

Kung fu panda 2's villain is so iconic and badass, top 5 animated movies
Cuz he essentially uses guns, huh?

Best movie of the 4 I say
@@vincenzobonadonna4556 nope it’s cuz of his personal connection to Po.
@@MexicanInk-m7i Also, you know. Gary Oldman absolutely killing it as usual.
Fun fact. Each of the furious 5 have fighting styles that actually embody the kung fu styles based off them. Po does as well, as the Dragon Warrior, where dragon style emphasizes using your opponents own strength against them.
Finally someone gets it.. when he said hes not hungry, he wasn't upset anymore :)

Alex calling Tai Lung a jungle cat when he’s literally the opposite 😭 bro is a SNOW leopard

Up to this day, I still can't believe that Jackie Chan voiced Monkey. I always feel so giddy when he talks 😂
The whole point of the dreamworks logo is that it’s a “dream” so in that sense the boy sitting on the crescent “works”
duude you ABSOLUTELY gotta check the 2nd one, it’s so much deeper and it makes me cry every time
One of the reasons why I love the Kung Fu Panda series because it showed me how versatile of an actor Jack Black can be. While he is known for being silly he can also be surprisingly emotional & mature when the situation calls for it.
if this did not have panda in it's title I'm confident he would think Po is a rabbit or something
0:34... Aaron, many of us (especially those in the film/editing world) would love to watch a breakdown of how you edit his videos. What your process is and such.
This is so refreshing to see every fighting style in preformed by the literal animal
a little Detail, When Tai Lung sees the Stroll he says it's "NOTHING" but when Po sees it he says it's "EMPTY" implying Tai Lung believed he was Nothing without the stroll cuz he trained his whole life for it but Po embraced it's true self so the Destiny like himself was fulfilled!
6:17 I paused the video just before this and forgot I had been watching it, came back and unpaused only to hear THAT with almost no context 😭🤣
“If I were into…” Dude. You’re into everything. You do you brother.
And you’re right, these movies are far better than they had any right to be.
😂😂
"there was once a time when Master Shifu actually used to smile", in this edit, when him and po sits to eat, if you pause at the right moment, here its 27.01.08 he acctually does, as a small easter egg from the movie team
The intro took me off guard my dude lmao, love the silliness none the less! The fact these movies still hold up as some of the best animation still out there to this day is amazing, you can see the difference in lighting on fur, the sun rays, every tiny detail is AMAZING
Edit: Im only 8 minutes in and your lack of animal knowledge has made me laugh a lot XD

“HERRO” 😭😭😭

The turtle was dropping quotables and philosophical gems this entire movie.
Gonna be funny to see his reaction to Zootopia after his comments from the bunny in Poe's dream.
It can be said that Chifu has 6 children and he has been a less than affectionate dad to 5 of them.
Calling noodles pasta should be a culinary offence 😂
Apparently, Chinese noodles are the father of Italian pasta. Heard the Italians only started making pasta after Marco Polo ate Chinese noodles.
The editor's note being "please don't ever watch Zootopia" 🤣🤣🤣 I was LITERALLY thinking of Judy Hopps when Alex first heard the sexy bunny lol

When I was young they had a cross-dressing Bugs Bunny that made me feel 'weird'.
2:54 me neither, editor. Me neither! XD
3:25 Also, please watch Zootopia, obviously. Because it is a great movie, and also because we will all have fun about with trying not to... "cross lines" that he just drew XD
I love the moment when Tai Lung sees his reflection in the scroll and says "it's nothing." He also didn't believe in himself. Just a neat addition.
I’ve never seen anyone really react to it but i would recommend watching both secrets of the furious five and secrets of the masters, they’re really short though but definitely deserves a watch
one detail that i like a lot and that a lot of ppl don’t seem to realize is that in the bridge scene, tigress isn’t necessarily just trying to stay balanced on the bridge, she is trying to keep control of her form. her and tai lung are siblings and mirrors of each other, so him flaunting around with open body language while she holds her stance is a direct reflection of how shifu trained them differently, with him loving tai lung and embracing his strength (which ultimately leads him to becoming entitled to the dragon scroll as he believes he’s the strongest) and limiting the affection he gives to tigress and teaching tigress to control her strength (this is explicitly stated in an animated short and shown in this movie where he corrects her form with the staff instead of demonstrating it like he did for tai lung). this is why she was very angry that po was chosen and why she berated him for being nothing like her (and tai lung), to her the idea that some complete random guy with no training (or influence from shifu) was actually the dragon warrior all along was completely unfathomable to her
0:17 Well, you’re not wrong. That’s the Alex I know and love. ❤😂
fun fact a group of panda's is also called an embarrassment
I loved the 3 second fight between Tai Luu and Oolong. PEAK CINEMA. 🔥
"I love geese, i even have one directly next to me, but i dont know what they look like"
Honestly can we blame shifu and the furious five for hating on po in the start. They dedicated their entire lives to kung fu and po just comes along as the dragon warrior without being able to walk up a few stairs.
I still don’t see the reason to hate on po especially when they know po didn’t even choose that
