But you should know that originally it's definitely not his line. It's an old Chinese proverb that came out way before this movie. Like hundreds if not thousands of years ago. Lol
Interestingly, at 31:07 when it shifts from 2D to 3D, it symbolizes that Po internalizes that what happened to his mom is real and not fantasy. Dreams in the KFP universe are represented in 2D, so the shift demonstrates his realization and acceptance that this did indeed happen.
25:58 the reason why she does understand is because she had a similar experience. She was left at an orphanage and the only thing she remembers as a baby is seeing her parents walking way when they put her at the front door, eventually she was adopted by shifu
Alex my favorite part of this movie is that shen is black and white. His ambition and his drive is what ended up defeating him in the end. It was never going to be a panda. It was him all along
that actually is a crazy theory that i've never thoight about untill now but it honestly makes sooooo much sense. like damn your comment just blew my mind
30:05 He was defeated by a panda as foretold, but he was destroyed by himself. After being defeated, he had the chance to make a different choice, but he refused.
The great thing about the Kung Fu Panda trilogy is that it reflects the three aspects of Kung Fu; Body; Mind; Spirit. The first movie is about training the body, the second movie is about the mind, you can figure out the third film from there.
hi! an asian art nerd nerding out, (23:55) typically in a lot (or most tbh) of asian cultures, red is associated with luck and prosperity and gold is...gold. however, in the west, red is often associated with danger and evil hence chen and his peacock symbol. another thing that's super cool about the colours of the film is whenever the camera is panned/focused on chen, the colours black, white and red are shown. while with po and the grand, it's much more vibrant and lively reflecting in their true natures. colours play a lot of role in all the kung fu panda movies, it can be seen in the first one as well where ty lung's colour palette was cool toned reflecting his cold-hearted nature and po's colour palette has always been warm with some sorta halo around him. some cool colour stuff 👍
In third, if I recall correctly, his dad and the rest of the pandas' colour palettes are very much surrounded by green. It's apt because it's a colour for balance, hope and renewal which is what the third movie is all about.
7:27 THANK YOU FOR NOTICING! It was something that took me a few rewatches but yeah it's a really cool detail and super touching that Mister Ping was inspired by his son fulfilling his dream and so decided to follow his own dream in turn. It's something I feel a lot of reactors miss and I love bringing it up.
Honestly, I loved the villain in this he 100% was the best villain out of all the franchises. Lord Shen was such a complex and well made villian and the second Kung fu Panda was actually the first one I've seen and I loved it so much as a kid.
Its a shame Kai wasnt as interesting of a villain in comparison to Shen and tai lung. What they should have done is leaned fully into him not underestimating Poh as a threat to his return and going full agro on him the moment he returned to the mortal realm and also a bit more of his time with oogway
37:29 I just wanted to say the theorized reason i also agree with on why Lod shen didn't redeem himself is because he knew he couldn't, he would prolly be locked up in prison for the rest of his life and he knew it, that's why he just accepted death, he had no more hope for himself or the future
While I agree the third isn’t as good as the first and second, I don’t think it’s as bad as a lot of people used to say. I think it’s still pretty good.
yep and that is what ruined it, its not a bad movie but it is so disappointing compared to the first 2. I love that they went so dark with this movie, it has an intense them but plenty of fun moments and funny little jokes. I know its dumb but Mantis yearning to settle down and have his head eaten always cracks me up.
You can see they had some pretty crazy dark ideas for it, considering po using his wushi finger And all, but yeah they had to change cuz people complained about second one
Love how as Shen was metaphorically his own destruction after he rejected Po’s olive branch, he was also literally his own destruction after he cut the ropes holding his own cannon up, adding on that he’s also narratively his own destruction for creating the cannon that crushed him to begin with.
I'm an artist. I took a class on Movie Environments and Color. Not exact name, been a while. But wanted to tell you, yes all this color choice is on purpose. Every background is a damn masterpiece of art. I adore this movie for the story and even more for the art. Glad you liked it too!
Not only is this movie visually beautiful and nearly every scene could be a screen saver, but the absolute details thrown into nearly every scene and dialog, showing and not telling, the way Po accepts his past and chooses to be good vs evil.... just *chefs kiss*
Dude, you should watch the first two Terminator movies if you haven't seen those. It was so damn good and you're going to love it! As for this movie, Lord Shen was truly one of the top best Dreamworks villains ever made, yet also terrifying and he's such a psychopath.
Every time I watch these movies I can’t help but notice the Harry Potter parallels. The prophecy, the villain’s attempt at eradicating his fated enemy, the loss of parents, the growth in skill and ability to fight back. Every time 😂 and Gary Oldman voicing Shen is just the cherry on top
0:47 Regardless of how much you've read on the subject, you're never prepared for the first pregnancy, delivery, and the first few years of having a child. When you get the second, you already know what the horrors will be and you still go forward, so of course you're less traumatized by the second child XD
Rule only applies if there are only 2 children. If there are 3, love is mostly given to the youngest regardless of how bad/good they are, the oldest gets the leftover love, and the middle gets the table scraps. Also KFP2 is my favorite so far.
There is a short animated stories about each of the five called Secrets of the Scroll. It gives a cool backstory to everyone. The one about Tigress is especially interesting.
The third one is ok There are messages like the other two but I feel that like how there is a hype moment in the second one, there is an equally disappointing moment in the third. The bad guy ost from the third one is fire though.
6:29 Actually the furious five are all centred around different styles of Kung Fu. Tiger style, monkey style, Mantis style, viper style, crane style and Dragon style (Dragon Warrior)
Oh I got this. The colors thing. In the original movie they cover this in the commentary and original movie bible. The directors gave meaning to certain colors. Gold is the "Hero" color which appears whenever something heroic and noble happens. Po is usually covered in it because he's the hero. Tai Lung's eyes are gold because he thinks he's the Hero of his own story. And Po's mom moment is shone in shining gold for when sacrifices herself for him. Green is for wisdom and anything overly mystical. Which is why Oogwey is just draped in it. And Shifu adds a bit of green to his outfit as he's gained more wisdom and taken in more of Oogwey's values. Red is much more simple to understand. It's the color of aggression. Used for violence and rage. There's a few more they cover. But it's been a while since I've read up on it.

The mom love thing might be a evolutionary behavior because your older kids are more likely to be able to take care of them selves so your younger kids get more pure and undivided bonding with the mom (possibly because of increased security given by the earlier born) Possibly because now the body knows it can be done(can be survived), it could be done better with greater effect if it focuses its energy (for increased mood and dopaminergic response)
I hope he watches Secrets of the Furious Five and Secrets of the Scroll. They are both around 20 minute shorts but they focus on the Furious five and a lot of people skip over them when watching the Kung Fu Panda Series😭

He literally yapped through the scene where po found inner peace. and then in the last scene he started wondering if po finally found inner peace before juggling the canon balls. I think he may have been high as a goose watching this😂😂
This movie makes me emotional whenever Po realizes his past and coming to terms with it, and when he acknowledges his dad Mr. Ping. DreamWorks really knows how to pull at the heart.
Thanks for this reaction Alex. It was perfectly timed after I reached a really low point in my life relating to suppressing my past. It really helped experiencing this movie in a new lens with you. Keep up the awesome work man 👊
If you want movies that are better than the first, you should check out the Sonic The Hedgehog movies! Not only is the second one better, but they only get better as they go! not to mention it has Jim Carry in (In my opinion) One of his greatest roles as Eggman. Exactly your kind of humour.
I have heard this quote in a tv show where a hero says “good gouts always win” then the villain responded with “I guess that depends on who you believe the good guys to be.”
alex dude, i had a serious question to ask and i was waiting for you to post again. however, i may have just inhaled a lil herb and i can’t remember now. i will be back.
I Enjoy watching your reactions mate so much and yes number 3 is worth watching and i recommend. you stop at 3 because i find this as a trilogy is perfect but its up to you after all.
Hey Alex That PTSD reference you made is so fucking relevant. I was a cop for 14 years, and came out of it with PTSD, from a number of incidents but one main one in particular that was almost 10 years ago now. Being able to process that indecent through EMDR therapy has been CRUCIAL in my healing. Confronting trauma is much healthier than burying it.
King Fu Panda 2 was actually the first of the trilogy I saw. It was on a Disney Cruise that my family went on. They had this giant screen set up outside that played Music Videos during the day, and movies at night. So I got to watch the movie while laying on a Sun Chair. Wind made it a little chilly, but it was an AWESOME experience.
YES!!!!!! I’ve been waiting for you to continue the Kung Fu Panda movies!!!!!!!! I love ALL of these movies, they all slap (Kung Fu Panda 4 was a bit “lacking” but still fairly good, but you’ll understand once you get to it)
third one is pretty good as well! the villain's theme is imo one of the greatest movie soundtrack so i think you should still continue this series til the third one
One thing I Also aldre about the Kung Fu Panda world building, is that the Fantastic Five not only symbolises animals of the Chinese new year, they also represent different styles of kung fu with the same name as their animal type! As there is king fu styles called the tiger, snake, praying mantis, monkey and crane - it’s awesome
I had to work on a farm for a while and if you stand next to the goat pen they WILL start chewing your clothes if you aren’t paying attention. They were super sweet and I loved petting them but I turn my back for 3 seconds feel a pull on my shirt and boom my shirt is goat lunch
I think a reason why they love the 2nd child more is because the first time they're still figuring things out and get a lot of things not quite right, whereas the 2nd time around they know what they're doing so everything runs a bit smoother and easier, plus now you have the older sibling to help raise them haha
Hi Alex. Just wanted to take this time to share that I am very grateful to have found you on youtube. You're presence is most agreable. You are fun, heartfelt and you make weird jokes. I love it and I love you. Thank you
I loved this movie so much because it was actually a big part in helping me move on from my trauma when I was younger. That doesn’t truly define me, it’s always about who you choose to be :)

This was a great reaction. I can’t wait for the edited version of The Clone Wars Season 5 to drop.
16:50 velociraptor alex
Watched this movie 2 days ago. Perfect timing
The phone calls to your mom and sister 😂🤣😂. Makes me feel good being the younger of 2
You have to watch The Terminator
When you started calling Shen all types of different birds was hilarious 🤣 best kung fu panda villain easily
alex dude, i had a serious question to ask and i was waiting for you to post again. however, i may have just inhaled a lil herb and i can’t remember now. i will be back.
Lol waiting for developments
i want to know now, come back dude
guys listen, come down is almost over and still no clue… im so sorry
„You are fucking up the chi“ is a quote i will use from now on xD
I Enjoy watching your reactions mate so much and yes number 3 is worth watching and i recommend. you stop at 3 because i find this as a trilogy is perfect but its up to you after all.
Hey Alex
That PTSD reference you made is so fucking relevant.
Wind made it a little chilly, but it was an AWESOME experience.
the animals are based on kung-fu fighting styles...but close.
Like mother like daughter. That was hilarious that they answered the SAME WAY! Haha
Thank you
Like Mother Like Daughter always😭 it's so wild. Can definitely relate.
I loved this movie so much because it was actually a big part in helping me move on from my trauma when I was younger. That doesn’t truly define me, it’s always about who you choose to be :)
These Kung Fu Panda reactions are awesome. Hyped for reaction of the 3rd film :D
