It's amazing how this movie can make a peacock so scary. I love Po's struggle to learn about himself and find his true self and inner peace, and that "Po Finds the Truth" sequence in the panda village is so beautiful, yet so heartbreaking.

Something that I love about this film is how Shen basically created Po by trying to destroy the threat. The soothsayer only said that he would be defeated by "a warrior of black and white", not a panda, yet he went on to kill the pandas making Po meet his father and, eventually, Shifu and Oogway, going to show Oogway's words about trying to avoid fate. And the more that Shen tried to avoid it, the more of a monster he became. Until, finally, he accepted his death without fighting it, showing that he truly didn't care. Furthermore, the answer to "Why is the soothsayer with him still" is because she still saw redemption in him. If he had found inner peace and had let go of it, he could've changed. But she found out after talking with him, that he was too far gone. His "happiness" was like a black hole, no matter what you throw in it, it would never be filled. And he would never let go. Goes to show how much they cared for each other, with Shen letting her stay around him without filters and free, and how she simply stayed to try to help him. Honestly my favourite film, with the best antagonist in my opinion

Shen... Lord is my favorite character in entire trilogy. I mean, just look at him! This peacock has so many inner demons, pain and pride in him, which I just Love! Plus that elegance.. Oof.. The great thing about 28:19 is that the Legends of the Furious Five movie revealed that Tigress grew up in an orphanage until she was adopted by Shifu. Po's questions about who he is, where he came from and what happened to his parents are questions that Tigress certainly had herself, and if she was in Po's shoes, she would probably find herself going off script and doing whatever it took to find out what happened. At the end of the day, no matter how hardcore Tigress is, she is still (for want of a better word) 'human', and no one in this moment can relate to Po more than she can.

It is outstandingly hilarious but at the same time doesnt make you take the emotions and themes less serious. It covers pretty heavy topics for a childs movie, but still does not loose its wholesome and funny spirit. And Shen is one of the best animated villain ever. I am just in awe of this movie
There is actually quite a bunch of Palaces like the "Gongmen" one in China, all of which are preserved and mostly are open for visitors. I think that the "Gongmen" one is a direct reference to the Tiananmen square in Beijing, and i must say from my visit there that it is pretty spectacular
I think the temple you are referencing is the Tianning, there is many more of similar appearance such as the Cishou. In China it's always good to consider, unfortunately, which buildints are original and which ones have been rebuild in an effort to pretend the culture isn't dead. It can get a little tricky outside of Beijing to investigate the history of the buildings.
China as a country is a very beautiful country with a very rich history, unfourtunatly for the people of China that history does not include that many fair and good leaders.
