Thank goodness Robbie Coltrane was able to take part in this, for he passed pretty soon after. I feel his role is just one of the most memorable ones in these movies.
i tear up every time i see the part of the reunion where Robbie says "I wont be here but Hagrid will". His passing was the first time I've openly cried over a celebrity death. I'm so glad you guys loved the series.
I saw this when it dropped last year. Then 9 months later, Robbie Coltrane passes away. RIP Hagrid, it's not Hogwarts without you... As sad as his passing was, Alan Rickman's death hit me much harder. I can't believe it's been 7 years since we lost such a talented actor. I'd been a fan of his ever since Die Hard. I loved all his roles, but my favorites are Severus Snape & the whacky Sheriff of Nottingham in "Robin Hood- Prince of Thieves", starring Kevin Costner & Morgan Freeman. Yeah, he was the bad guy but he's so over the top that you just love the dude - comedic gold! It's the complete opposite performance that he gave as Snape - LOL!
I knew you two would love this! I especially liked the WAY they did it. Face it, this is Hogwarts we're talking about. Of course, it had to be a school reunion, right? Even before Robbie Coltrane died, I couldn't make it through him talking about 50 years from now without bawling like a baby.
Definitely crying now watching this again. So many of us love Harry Potter on such a deep level, it brings such strong emotions with it. I’m so glad I got to see y’all go through this journey ❤
Robbie Coltrane's death was the first celebrity death that really made me sad. Hagrid was the one who saved Harry from a life of abuse, he was the one who rescued Harry and all of us and took us to the wizarding world for the first time.
She's been battling with cancer since before the release of the 5th movie of Harry Potter. She got through it until the final movie. Respect & love....
My husband is from Scotland. He met Robbie Coltrane in a pub in Glasgow many years ago. He said Robbie was very nice. Everyone kept buying him rounds and he drank them all. lol Love your reactions. Much love.
Ut gets me everytime i hear the director for Goblet say " It's the biggest book it's about 900 pages." When it's not the biggest book. ORder of the Pheonix is at 852 pages.
robbie coltrane's part made everyone cry. apparently he was dying at the time, which is why he said this, he knew he didn't have much time left :'( the set for his house is at the harry potter studios in london and visitors were putting flowers there :'( :'(
I knew you would love this! Those scenes with Alan Rickman and Robbie Coltrane gets me the most because they are no longer with us. I was supposed to meet Robbie Coltrane at the Harry Potter celebration in 2014(I think), but he got sick and couldn’t make it. I did get a chance to meet some of the actors through that venue and LeakyCon. They are so incredibly nice.
thank you for sharing. loved it so much going it with you .i saw all the movies in theatre (as an adult) and read all the books twice first in dutch (cause im a dutchy) and than in english, ive seen so many reactions but yours i was really waiting for the next week.
It's also great that Christ Columbus, David Heyman & the main casts (the trio) mentioned about the late Richard Harris (the original Professor Dumbledore). I mean no disrespect to Micheal Gambon. But I think Harris was the perfect Professor Dumbledore, he's exactly what I imagined from the first Harry Potter book ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. He had the charisma, wisdom, strength & humor that Richard Harris....
Yay you guys reacted to it thank you y’all are the best Emma having a crush on Tom I was like ohh me to girl me too 😂 and then when Robbie said “I won’t be here but Hagrid will” got me cocked up especially knowing that his actually gone now ❤️🩹🥺
I've noticed a mistake in the Harry Potter franchise that continued all the way through, but I understand how it happened. The scoring in Quidditch is DECIMAL. Counting in 10's, with 150 points to whoever catches the Golden Snitch doesn't fit with the rest of the Wizarding World. All of their traditions are handed down unchanged for many generations. The currency is a fictitious variant on Imperial currency, with pounds, shillings and pence. Things were weighed in pounds, and ounces. Decimal was only a thing in the 60's, and came in the 70's, to make it easier to count in multiples of 10. Decimal is a modern world concept. 150 points for the winner is almost a videogame concept. None of this fits with a very olde worlde universe. I get why it happened. During the first novel JK Rowling would have been far more concerned with how the scenes played out, than the minutae of the scoring, so she had a temporary scoring system. It went overlooked in the edits, then made it into the movie, and became the way Quiddich was scored. It's one very minor flaw. Overall, she's an incredible world builder.
Thank you for going on this journey! I can’t wait for your reactions to Fantastic Beasts and Lord of the Rings! It’s really hard to believe that it’s been 2 decades of this amazing magical story, and how we grew to love not only the characters but the actors as well. RIP to those who have passed and are dearly missed. #Alwaysremberedandneverfogotten 🪄❤️💛💙💚

2023 seeing this masterpiece and remembering
You never saw it in her performance but Dame Maggie Smith (McGonagall) was battling cancer in the last movies.
She's been battling with cancer since before the release of the 5th movie of Harry Potter. She got through it until the final movie. Respect & love....
