Even staying light on options (no stereo upgrade, taking the free yellow paint instead of a £2.2k metallic, black seatbelts will do just fine, etc) I still got it in the mid £130k region. Fantastic video. The passion in the studio is palpable - and contagious!
I'm willing to bet, when the Porsche establishment orders the GT department to go electric, Preuninger might leave Porsche and start something on his own. Maybe a Singer Preuninger collab brand.. 😳
They have to, it’s not up to the automakers anymore. As unfortunate as it is, automakers have to switch to electric by law, at least in Europe. But I’m sure Porsche will do their best to keep the internal combustion engine alive as long as they can. Thankfully, there hasn’t been any news of the 911 going electric as of now, so let’s see what happens.
We DON'T WANT ELECTRISHITTY CARS !
I know i would never be able to own this, but tq for make it exist.
It’s so funny how it seems like everyone is talking about engine noise since electric cars are becoming more and more popular.
Wait for it. The electric bullshits are coming :-( "battery closets" as call em!
This guy is such a chad, I could listen to him talk all day long
I can picture myself having succeeded in life's most important aspects in a very manifest way and it for sure includes me sitting on the way to work in one of these or an even better up coming version of porsche's way better than military grade cars //
Preuninger seems like a cool dude. GT3 is my favorite but this gt4RS is 🔥
Electrification will be seen in the history books as one of the most catastrophic losses of technology in history. Porsche is the only manufacturer that isn't throwing away decades of engineering for a modern trend.
Wait for it. The electric bullshits are coming :-( Shitty Porsche IS ALREADY straight to the electriSHITTY shit thing!
@@terabit. they have no choice. Most countries will ban the sale of ICE cars by 2030. Blame the green movement.
@@almac9203 You mean "the green new world order".
I'd say most customers buying this would already had a GT3 or GT3 RS already, so... they don't really compete with each other. It's still appealing to see what Porsche could do when they go all out, and I'm surely not disappointed.
another model that will just go to flippers and not enthusiasts…
Absolutely. The dealers have all this sewn up probably 12 months ago.
A lot of Germans/Europeans actually track them, the GT3/4/RS is a really common car at the ring. Even the GT2 isn't that special anymore. It's just another 911 with a GT badge and a wing.
The Cayman GT4 was already an insane car
This RS version is just insane
I wish Porsche had at least offered a manual version as that would be perfect
This is my dream car
I think Porsche is the ultimate drivers brand
Porsche is a two syllable word. It’s hard to hear a journalist say “Porsh” over and over.
If Preuniger didn't make a fuss about it, neither should you. Lots of brands with two or more syllables ends up with shorter slang nicknames. Chevy. Lambo. VeeDub. Merc. Caddy. Aston. Rolls. Bimmer. Toyo. Subi. Get over it. I own and track a 2019 GT3RS, and I don't care what anybody calls it.
@@xtnuser5338 the difference between the examples you gave is that they’re obviously slang terms and anyone using them know the full correct name. Most people that say Porsh do so out of ignorance and not because it’s an agreed upon slang term. Preuniger probably gets sick of correcting people and I highly doubt you’d ever hear him or anyone that works at Porsche say Porsh.
@@MF_UNDERTOW You honestly think most people have never heard the correct pronunciation, and are just ignorant of it? That seems like a very odd perception to me, and I'm in conversations about them a lot. I say Porsh myself sometimes, and I've been corrected, even by non car people, about a gazillion times. Everybody knows. It's been a world-renowned name for a long time.
@@xtnuser5338 the British are notorious for mispronouncing foreign words and names. There are footballers in the premiership (soccer players in the major league 😂) from other nations who commentators still can't pronounce correctly even after being in the league 5-10 years. Porsche literally made an advertisement telling people how to pronounce the name ("it's two syllables"). Go to a PCA event and say it with one syllable and watch everyone try not to visibly cringe.
@@jsquared1013 I attend PCA events. I say Porsch. Some people do cringe. They, like you, should get over it.
The GT variants of the 718 have solidified the Cayman and Boxster into the 911 class. The 911 is the 911, but the Caymans and Boxsters are now commanding equal respect. They are all world class, however they are achieving this in different ways and that is what is special. Bravo Porsche!
No manual? No thanks
Close minded
Up until the other day I was having a realistic dream of buying me a 718 GTS. Now all of a sudden I am plagued by a somewhat unrealistic dream of having one of these. Thanks for sharing, I guess hahaha
Every time he says "porsh" it's a formal insult. I wanted to see him say it to Andreas' face. Low class to purposefully mispronounce the founder's surname. ☹️
Is it? YAWN....
@@Hypersonik ya, he should have introduced Andreas as "Andrea", leave off the "s", because hey, just say all names like you're French & a clown. LOL
@@erolfox Many different accents pronounce my name differently. It's not a big deal.
So, ya call them "Nik" shoes and no one laughs at how silly that is? We don't buy it.
Or say the "lt" in Renault... that would be ridiculous.
@@erolfox IT DOESN'T MATTER!! Everyone in the western world knows what a Porsh is and if you start calling it a Par-sher, you'd be a bit of a tool, especially when you mandate others calling it that.
Love to see a head-to-head track comparison with this car and the 2023 C8 ZO6.
This is a great-looking car. But...
I think the price for the car as seen is a wee bit more than you quote - the Mag Alloys alone are £9k-ish, and the full track pack with roll cage is about £12k, on top of the £108k starting price. Even staying light on options (no stereo upgrade, taking the free yellow paint instead of a £2.2k metallic, black seatbelts will do just fine, etc) I still got it in the mid £130k region. Then there's the £9k-ish chronograph, but I'm happy with that one... 😁
All told, it came to about £144k, with ceramic brakes behind the regular alloys (in the same blue tint as those mags), but could easily top £160k to look like the one in the video.
Still very tempting, though! 😎
My goodness! Everything Porsche develops just raises the bar for all others to try to follow!
I think I fell in love with this car. I have never driven a Porsche but I think it will be amazing when I get the chance🥰
Every day that passes i love Porsche even more, i had the opportunity to drive a 911 Turbo S a couple of months ago and i it was one of the best handling cars i've ever driven, the GT3 must be a beast and it's so great to see this GT4 Rs appearing in the market now!!
