Hello, I set up my new Google Pixel 8 Pro earlier and now have the following problem. Certain apps jerk very hard when scrolling - others don't at all. Certainly, such a smartphone is heavily stressed by all the initial downloads etc. when setting up a new one - so it has also warmed up relatively well. Could this be the reason for the sometimes strong jerking or have I possibly even caught a defective device? Maybe someone here has experiences or tips
But, which is best for photo/video? I have the pixel 7 and I hate it.I want more zoom, better quality, more manual controls... Like the white balance is horrid on the 7. And I can't control brightness/shutter or aperture at all
Overall the camera systems are quite close with the edge to the Ultra owing to better zoom and perhaps better video (no clear winner in still photos generally). Other facets driven by the processor (processing power, battery life) - the Ultra is naturally well ahead. However, I think the P8P is definitely great value at $500-600 and for users not big on gaming would be a good buy even in late 2024 (still gets 6 years of updates), saving significant money against both the Ultra and even the latest Pixels/9 series with some inevitable but acceptable compromises.
Is a $200 pixel 8 Pro good? A co worker is selling his because he got the s24 ultra and prefers it over the 8 Pro. Not wanting it as a main phone but as a secondary phone since I have a 15 pro max as my main phone.

I've had the pixel 6, pixel 7 Pro and pixel 8 Pro along with the Samsung galaxy s24 Ultra. All three of the pixels had cellular issues and overheating issues specifically while using the modem for 5G or just calls in general. The pixel phones would have terrible audio on a phone call along with just randomly dropping the call. @@ChipHighlark yup! I use the lixel gen 2 wireless charger and it knows when my alarm for work is, so it only charges to full eight before the alarm goes off 😅
I haven't really heard a lot of comparisons where the verdict is that the S24 Ultra has the better camera system. From my own experience comparing it to Galaxies I've had in the past, the Pixel 8 is absolutely unbeatable for both photos and videos. Still, I haven't used the S24 Ultra... so it's entirely possible Samsung has finally caught up?
But that will cost you 2 or 3 years of software and security updates aswell. Up until now most Android phones didn't get much more than 3 years of updates. At that point your older phone - even if it's otherwise fine - might turn into a big security risk
The worst about the ai features on the pixel is that many are only available in the us meanwhile samsung should work on making ui and animations smoother
I sold my s24u to buy a p8p for 2 reasons, the first being shutter speed, I bought a smartphone and i want to be able to take any type of photo without using the "pro" mode to avoid blurred effects. Secondly, Oneui has too many options! I prefer the simplicity of android stock

Google pixel is not even available in my country. And if you buy one, most features are locked. A waste of money for me. This is a tech discrimination.
The black color for the Pixel 8 pro has grown on me. I had the blue before I sold it, but that black just hits different. I sold it because of the phones poor battery performance and over heating issues.
@@merc7paul not really. I still see plenty of 8 users complaining about over heating and battery drain on the reedits and comment sections. Granted how many of those are the majority of pixel users, who knows. When I worked wireless consumers either hated the pixels or liked it. Never in the middle. With 7s and their battery issues we had a lot of people coming for exchanges even though they got the 7 pro for $399.99. Would rather use an A54. Blew my mind.
If you don’t mind, where did you sell your phones? I lost my 1 year old phone somewhere in my house, or it may have gone out with the garbage. If I find it I’m going to want to sell it!
Sold my Pixel 8 pro. The batterylife was awful and become even worse with every update.. And im not a heavy user. Mostly RUclips, X, TikTok etc.. Will go for the Xperia 1VI, S24 Ultra or Oneplus 12.
I have the s24 ultra, tried the xperia 1 vi, it's a great phone but just a bit more expensive than what I wanted to spend, and I'm not keen on the pro apps being combined, I like the Xperia 1 v more for this reason, unfortunately until Sony confirm it is getting longer security updates, going to get an 8 pro and trade in/sell the s24 ultra, aesthetically a gorgeous phone, love alot of the functions but just overly complicated, I think for an every day user, it's a bit much, and very hard work to hold comfortably

Nope
Dubious!
Samsung never caught up lol.
the pixel experience an advantage? the buggiest software for all android phones combined, one ui 0 bugs
Using s24u but I have a Pixel 8 pro as well and in some ways prefer it.
But. 8 now or wait for the 9???
Wait! It’s supposed to come it in September!
@@suew4609 too late. I already have a S9 ultra
Samsung cameras suck. Saturation and sharpness to 11. I use gcam on all Android phones.
great vid.very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Honestly, for the vast majority of people, the pixel is all they need, and you'll be able to save a lot of cash.
Samsung cause, the pixel was not avaible in my country
Pixel is user-friendly and has all the features that people use regularly.
But. The camera module on the Google is far better for typing on. On a flat surface
My S24 Ultra has call assist... You skewed this to Google from the start... The Pixel hardware is terrible. You get what you pay for.
Neither. Get a phone 2, 3 years old, unboxed and never used. That'll save you half a grand or more.
But that will cost you 2 or 3 years of software and security updates aswell. Up until now most Android phones didn't get much more than 3 years of updates. At that point your older phone - even if it's otherwise fine - might turn into a big security risk
Lmao
@@stefan_no 😭🤣🤦 Google is the biggest security risk. Most Pixel features are considered a Threat to National Security outside of U.S.A.
HI, have you made and live music videos ? and if you did how do they sound ? thanks
I like a LOUD phone. Which phone can make more noise? They are phones after all!
Speaking of sale. Pixel is now on sale 400usd less due to upcoming black week
🗣Pixel 8 Pro all day for me! even though the S24 Ultra is arguably the better phone. iPhone 14 Pro Max & Pixel 8 Pro are my dailies🤙
let me know when price drops, pixel is too expensive here in nigeria
#teampixel
Josh: "This Pink house ..."
Me: "Oooo that's a cool looking house"
Josh: "... in downtown Cary"
Me: "WAIT THAT'S' JUST IN CARY?!"
I actually had no idea you were in the Raleigh-Durham area!
S24 is way more powerful. The g3 tensor is weak.
Which will only be apparent if you play intensive games etc. if you don't play games on the phone i would say pixel is better.
Typing this from my Pixel 8 Pro. I've had zero desire to return to the S24 Ultra.
Why is thAt?
Still thinking the 8 pro or just waiting for the 9 pro.
Imo Wait for the pixel 9..
Bro wrong about camera. S24 Ultra is no. 22 and G Pixel 8 pro is no. 7 in DXOMARK ranking
Firefox, uBlock Origin and Gboard are enough reasons to buy Pixel over iPhone.
Google is new to phone market. Samsung is experienced, old school company. Microsoft had launched the Zune to.compete with ipods 20 yrs ago. They failed. Google may also fail same way
More reviewers have the pixel 8 pro better in terms of details and night shots.
Love my pro, Samsung was never an option for me simply because I just don't like any Samsung phone ever so wouldn't even consider
Great video, a couple things to add for Samsung. One-hand operation in the One UI experience is great and brings enormous convenience. The second is the Samsung Dex.
Enough said.
I think the Ultra is the best Dad phone but I don't like how much bloat comes with Samsung.
You guys never go for hardware 😒😒
I have pixel 8 pro from beginning. It does amazing photos, the user experience is great but most these amazing features are us exclusive so Google lied when presenting those. On top of that battery sucks! Overall I am happy but it's not as good as OP 12, S24 Ultra.
My daughter has takes amazing pictures with her Pixel phones. Even got a runner up in a photo contest.
No brainer for me pixel 8 pro was 540 at spectrum
Its mind blowing people still don't realize Samsung, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor magic, Google , One Plus, and Red Magic are superior to IOS . Android changed my life years ago and once you have things like stylus support , multi tasking , open os , samsung TV , IR Blaster , wireless screen casting , foldable innovation, no limitations etc you cant live without them
iMessage
No one outside the US gives a shit about iMessage and FaceTime so I use that as my deciding power now. In the US, people use the iPhone as a status symbol.
@latenightsinthemiddleofjune yes I'm in the US and thats true there's this iphone madness and people don't realize android is offering more value . I do see some occasional Samsung here in the US th ough
Google pixel is not even available in my country. And if you buy one, most features are locked. A waste of money for me. This is a tech discrimination.
8 pro > Samsung is just ads
100%
..neither. wait for the Pixel 9..
@fla1378
Wait for the P 10 in 2025.
Google's New Fully Custom Chip, "Laguna" from TSMC.
Saying Goodbye to Samsung's Exynos.
Pixel 9 will be a glorified pixel 8 pro wait for the pixel X
Better yet. Pixel 10 Pro.
No, wait Pixel 11 Pro.
No wait, ...
The black color for the Pixel 8 pro has grown on me. I had the blue before I sold it, but that black just hits different. I sold it because of the phones poor battery performance and over heating issues.
Lol those issues have been sorted over time😅
@@merc7paul not really.
Clear and true comparison of both the devices and helps us in choosing the right one
No head phone slot I tired to plugg in headphones lol
I'd have to buy the S24U this time around.
Any other neurodivergents super excited about the accessibility that comes with AI features? 😮
Samsung generative AI is a hit or miss.
Pixel ❤
