    I own both. First year in which i prefered selling the iphone and keep two androids for my main and secondary sim. Despite both being phenomenal phones, i chose the pixel 8 pro as main device. Even if the s24U chip is better and it has a little more battery, i love the pixels animations magic erase camera and software overall. ❤

      Personally, I'm looking into the P8P simply because it's a cheaper version of a Samsung phone with some of its own exclusive features that Samsung doesn't offer for its latest device. But ultimately, the price point is what's selling me on it.

      @@mynameisearlbTrue, and I’ve had a lot of bugs with my Pixel7Pro, some that seemed to carry over from my earlier Pixel phone. Very annoying. I lost that phone and now I’m thinking of switching to the S24 or an iPhone 15

    • @mynameisearlb
      @mynameisearlb 6 месяцев назад +4

      @@Vahidaam I would argue that it's not about capacity much at all. Yes it does have impact on battery life in general, but that's not the biggest factor to consider. The processor in the pixel is incredibly inefficient compared to what's in the s24. The processor in the pixel is really new and the series that's in the s24 has been around for a very long time and has already had the kinks worked out generations ago. The capacity of the battery in the pixel would likely have to be like 20% bigger than what's in the s24 to have somewhat similar battery life.
      Look at the batteries in e-ink devices, they are incredibly small and can literally last months on a single change. This is a drastic example but a 3000mah battery in an efficient device can last a very long time, if that device has been optimized for power consumption. The weaker CPU in the pixel drains significantly more power than the more powerful CPU in the S24. I don't have figures for you but you can look more into it if you want.
      The pixel 8 likely has improved power consumption/efficiency, compared to the pixel 7, but I would bet that it is nowhere near what's in the s24.

    Note 20, Note 21 and S22 Ultra owner user here. I just bought a Google Pixel 8 Pro because of reviews I've read from comments left on RUclips videos. I owned a Pixel 3 but only temporarily while I waited for my Note 21, I loved the phone and software at the time. But I was too blinded by Samsung because it's what everybody knew. So when I heard of the Pixel 8 Pro I considered it and I am sooo sooo happy I listened to the comments. This phone is really underrated, I would trade all of my Samsungs for this phone any day!! The camera doesn't oversaturate my pictures, the keyboard is so responsive! Face recognition without automatically fully unlocking the phone is fantastic!! The white LED that lights up under your fingerprint when using the reader is a very nice touch!! The AI for pictures is way cooler than the S22 cameras features I can go on and on!!

    I had the S24U in my cart after eyeing the Pixel for quite a while. Almost clicked the "Confirm order" but.... These 2 are so close, what tipped the scale in favor of the Pixel was the fact that all the Samsung AI features are free until 2025 (I plan to keep the phone for 2+ years) and that anti-glare screed becomes irrelevant one you put a screen protector on, so for the price Pixel is just the better overall option.

    Overall the camera systems are quite close with the edge to the Ultra owing to better zoom and perhaps better video (no clear winner in still photos generally). Other facets driven by the processor (processing power, battery life) - the Ultra is naturally well ahead. However, I think the P8P is definitely great value at $500-600 and for users not big on gaming would be a good buy even in late 2024 (still gets 6 years of updates), saving significant money against both the Ultra and even the latest Pixels/9 series with some inevitable but acceptable compromises.

      You have to be careful how you interpret cellular signal. Can you make calls and does data work when the reception appears to be "weak"? A weak signal may be indicative of the device having the ability to connect to a tower further way that is less congested, giving you a better network experience.

      I've had the pixel 6, pixel 7 Pro and pixel 8 Pro along with the Samsung galaxy s24 Ultra. All three of the pixels had cellular issues and overheating issues specifically while using the modem for 5G or just calls in general. The pixel phones would have terrible audio on a phone call along with just randomly dropping the call. The phones would sit at around 40° C and just be hot in general even to the point where my coworkers would be alarmed as well. In turn the battery life is quite poor as well. The Samsung has none of these issues

    I haven't really heard a lot of comparisons where the verdict is that the S24 Ultra has the better camera system. From my own experience comparing it to Galaxies I've had in the past, the Pixel 8 is absolutely unbeatable for both photos and videos. Still, I haven't used the S24 Ultra... so it's entirely possible Samsung has finally caught up?
