How did you manage transferring your data from the iOS to android or did you just not bother? I’ve got an iPhone X and am considering switching to android.
As a photographer, what do you think about the shutter lag on Samsung devices. Makes taking picture of anything with even slight movement nearly impossible. And I'm not talking about perfect 10/10 pictures, just decent enough not to get deleted right away.
@Azzlackus it was really easy. I just followed the instructions on the new samsung phone and it brought over everything except the apps I used. But the Google play store had everything that I used the most so I just downloaded them from there.
The S Pen is an invaluable tool for me in my work. I use it to translate and play Chinese games such as Sword of Justice Ray Tracing. It is also useful for editing videos and photos on my phone, and it is very precise.
Sometimes I forget just how much functionality is baked inside these devices now. Granted, I don't see myself using a lot of them but it's still amazing to see. It also highlights the fact that a lot of these capabilities are what you actually pay extra for in these flagship+ devices yet most of the people who buy these either aren't actually creative enough or knowledgeable about their devices enough to take advantage of them and just end up wasting money.
open camera, go to settings, select "intelligent optimization" and disable it. Make your tests and I hope it will give you better results. If you want to compare how it would come out with intelligent optimization, open the picture in Gallery, swipe it up and it will show the "remaster" option at the bottom.
@@fearless6694 my mistake, sorry. I selected "minimum optimization". I am still exploring the camera options, maybe there are other settings that will help to further adjust post processing.
@@stevanb.2590 I didn't explore further, to me it seems that it requires a very systematic approach to understand how much each of the options affects the results and what combination of them will be the optimal solution. The Expert RAW app is very powerful and also a challenge for those who do not have a good knowledge in photography. I'm glad there are so many options because I am making it a personal goal to learn more and become a better photographer. There are some videos showing that it is possible to get amazing results with the S24u when compared with professional cameras.
The Samsung flagship phones haven't had a SD card slot since the S20.That's a big minus for me. Something that's going to be interesting however is that all mobiles (and similar devices) sold in the EU by 2027 must have user replaceable batteries.
Sd cards are crazy slow to the point its annoying to wait for everything to load especially if there's like 60gb worth of files in 1 folder.. Would be nice if they evolved the micro sd tech to make it faster.. but rn that sd is so slow I just prefer to get the model with more storage since I'm gonna use that phone for the next decade
12:35 you can disable that in the camera settings (Intelligent optimisation) i do agree tho, there is nothing "Intelligent" about that lol Edit: nvm i'm talking about my S23 Ultra maybe its a S24 problem
This may not work. Recently got an S23 Ultra and can't get it to stop post processing no matter what. Turned the Intelligent Optimization to minimum, played with some other settings too but it still does this. Seems to only be on 50 and 200 MP shots, it won't do it on the 12 MP photos.
Note 9 going strong and still can't decide to shell out this crazy amount of money for phones that lack 50% of N9s features. Crazy times and not good ones.
This did not feel like a long term user review. It was much of a nit picky review. S24 ultra is the best phone in the world right now. Hands down! The longer you use .. the more you fall in love with it especially if you are a Note lover.
Wow 6:58, I still can't believe that's still an issue?!?!, is this just the S24 Ultra or does it still happen on the other S24 models. I had the Galaxy Note 3 and it was notorious for having GPS issues, I got so pissed during the peak Pokemon Go Era with that Samsung device. That's what made me switch to iPhone. I still can't believe that's still an issues in 2024.
thats because it isn't a real electronic ND / VND filter, it just tries to mimic the long exposure you get from using an ND. it does this somewhere in the image processing pipeline and no, it doesnt work on video because again, it isn't a real ND.
Disagree with rounded corner phones. Never once used my phone and thought it dug in to my hand either. Don't know how you guys hold your phones. Not going to lose corner pixels to get a rounded screen either. Guess iPhone users are used to that though with the big notch. I have not had GPS issues with mine either use it daily for that. I use the s-pin daily for smart select, copying part of screen shots, note taking, and circle to search AI. As for price it is high but with trade ins when first launched I only paid a few hundred dollars, and that was taken off by carrier discounts.
he himself doesn't know what he's saying lol. couldn't find any cons so he decided to make ones, like the S pen is just there, and he made it sound like a con just because he doesn't use it. i had a note 9 back in 2018-2020. i used the pen EVERYDAY and i wasn't even an office worker/college student. and how he made the AI features requiring a samsung account to be activated sound like a deal breaker, like no shit, apple users make iclouds and apple IDs right away since iOS devices are unusable without them and he complains about having to make a samsung account smh.
Facts! Wasn't a Note fan till I was gifted a Note 10. And now, the Spen is a mandatory requirement in the next phone I buy. I don't use it much but when I do, I'm glad I have it.
I just wanted to say that I love the awesome 100x zoom that other phones lack. Not because I take pictures of the Moon, that's ridiculous, but because with this you can use the phone as binoculars, and that's unique and practically useful from time to time.
I came across your channel and really enjoyed your detailed analysis, chill vibe/narrative voice, and your photo/video reel. As a guy who had a Samsung 9+ and then a Fold 3 i am familiar with their work. Even though I have been rocking foldables for the past few years, I do look at & play around with the Samsung 24 Ultra and LOVE the screen. Anywyays, I ENJOYED the video and you got yourself a new subscriber 📱📱🤳🤳♥️♥️♥️♥️
Did they fix the 4K blurriness problem previous phones had when you use the phone with DEX and a 4K monitor? I still have a NOTE 10 plus and despite the 4K hack from the Good Lock app, the 4K screen projection in DEX is still blurry compared to a PC connection.
12:10 Hi Eber, I might be late to the party but maybe aside from minimizing the intelligent optimization you can also download the "camera assistant" module from good lock. Good Lock is an app containing experimental feature labs by Samsung themselves and you can get it from either play store or the samsung store. In the camera assistant you can toggle off the Auto HDR and set picture softening, which helps with oversharpening problem like i had in my S23 Ultra. There are also many other features there and probably, the Good Lock itself deserves its own video as it is somewhat game-changing for Samsung phones customization! I think they are also available for lower class samsungs as well so anyone can enjoy. Love your coverage as usual, perhaps one thing missing is I hope you pushed for SD card slot to make a comeback since this class of phone is so great at taking photos and videos, and those eat a lot of space 😅
Very well made review! Had seen few reviews before but never got impressed so much. Great job! “Spend Responsibly “ - cool❤ I think the photo “over processing “ is disastrous. There are also other glitches as you mentioned. Just one question-Do you think all these issues can be fixed through software updates? I think if Samsung wants, it can. Looking forward to hearing from you! Keep up the great job.
It's criminal how the overprocessing killed those pics of the sunset and capybara. I've been happy in general with my S23 Ultra but occasionally had similar problems and been frustrated by the inability to turn the automatic processing down / off without faffing around in the 'expert Raw' camera app. Shame that this is still an issue (or even more of an issue!) with the S24 ultra.
The thing with Samsung’s image processing since many years has been the over the top sharpening. Every photo, under every shooting condition must be sharpened to compensate for god knows what. Add to that the oil painting effect upon zooming in the 5x and the erstwhile 10X tele lens photos. Every year I’d sell my s series flagship and fall for the reviews praising how everything has changed and how the photos are excellent the subsequent year, only to be disappointed yet again when I’d bring the phone home and test the camera for myself. The reviews would get me every year so to speak. Hence I have immense respect for channels like yourself that call out the disappointing image processing and don’t make an extended 20 minute ad for Samsung in the garb of a review.
I'm sticking to my S22 ultra. The GPS problem is a deal breaker for me. I mean you can live with a shallow photo, but getting lost, even in a city, not to mention deserts or mountains, is a big no in my book.
Let me tell you one thing : To learn languages daily, without classes just by yourself, there is no better phone thanks to the S Pen. The S Pen allows you to copy anything, and translate it. Now, the translation is only useful to know what you clicked on. But if you're inside the settings of your phone or any internal software part, you can copy it thanks to the S Pen. For example, I use my phone in Japanese and don't know yet every kanjis. So when I'm stuck, I pull out the S Pen, copy the sentence I don't get and then dive into a dictionnary to learn and remember. By using my phone in full japanese for months, the progress I've done besides talking with penpal friends, videos/movies and my self teach classes, is incredibly high. And with some good dictionnaries, I'm pretty sure you can do it with other langugages.
Great video, Can you make a video of few of those phones which are half the price and can do 95% of things that this does? Will be an exciting video to watch.
Completely disagree with this video. Almost everything that was mentioned as a negative, the average user will never notice. Its one of the most negative reviews Ive seen and just comes off so whiney and talks about so many subjective things where it feels like the video is trying way too hard to come up with two negatives for every positive. I upgraded from a Note 20 Ultra and was previously an iPhone user and this is by far the best phone Ive ever owned. The screen alone is a technical marvel and as a heavy user, I don't have any issues with any apps, its incredibly smooth, One UI is amazing, Dex is amazing, gaming on it is amazing, pen works great as always, pictures and videos are great, though I think iphones are slightly better for videos in certain scenarios, and the way I can customize this phone to my hearts content along with all of the pros including the battery make it well worth the money. Its a pocket sized well rounded super computer.
You haven't used non-Samsung android phones. I dislike the ways in which Samsung locks down customizability compared to base Android or lighter skins; I owned an S3 and an S7 before switching to a OnePlus 7 pro in 2019. I just bought a OnePlus 12; it arrives tomorrow. Has specs that are similar or the same as the Samsung, just a slightly worse camera and no pen, but was $900 for the 16 gig model and I know I won't be fighting Samsung's skin.
@@godminnette2 I have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing has prevented me from redoing the phone in exactly the way I wanted using a combination of Niagara Launcher, Goodlock, and native customization available on every Android phone.
I disagree with your take on the video. People DO notice these thing once the shiny 'new' is gone. He didn't say it wasn't a very capable device. He just isn't looking at with rose colored glasses like a fanboy would
I use an otterbox defender. The pen is covered when I flip over my phone by the otterbox screen protector belt clip. So now I never go through the extra step of taking the pen out or flipping vertically

A few comments for all, about S Pen usage to consider I will agree they are not a must have, but, speaking as a former pocket pc user, pre IPhone, and as a Senior Citizen, I always consider stylus availability, a requirement for purchase. Think about your own Mom & Dad, grandparents, friends. Could their efficiency on a Smartphone improve/decline, simply on the availability of a functional stylus? Also, think about the aging worldwide increase in the number of senior citizens. Manual dexterity starts to decline, Rheumatoid arthritis can mangle fingers, making touch screens more difficult to navigate. Just identifying some issues many may not think about or be aware of...

The S Pen is an invaluable tool for me in my work. I use it to translate and play Chinese games such as Sword of Justice Ray Tracing. It is also useful for editing videos and photos on my phone, and it is very precise.
Same! I use my S-Pen for everything that I can.
My self I would say Samsung should ban this s pen and use more batteries 🔋
I bought samsung note series just for the Spen.
Wasted money for me. I just wanted a phone that was really fast and took great pictures. The remaining features are less than worthless to me.
The rectangular shape with squared off edges is what gives this phone a premium look. Round it off and it becomes like everything else.
I totally agree with you on this aggressive post processing issue without an option to keep original photos.
open camera, go to settings, select "intelligent optimization" and disable it. Make your tests and I hope it will give you better results. If you want to compare how it would come out with intelligent optimization, open the picture in Gallery, swipe it up and it will show the "remaster" option at the bottom.
there's no option to disable intelligent optimization
@@fearless6694 my mistake, sorry. I selected "minimum optimization". I am still exploring the camera options, maybe there are other settings that will help to further adjust post processing.
@@hjb2tubeI tried each and every option and their combination, you still can't get rid of terrible Samsung processing.
This is one of the reasons why I still have my NOTE 10 plus.
Here we go with this sd card crying shi
75% of users don't care about SD card even if it's there we won't use them
bro i have 128gb on my phone and i have nothing to do with that space honestly:)) it's useless
The sharp corners if the function over form… with rounded edges you’re loosing a lot of screen just because “ouch my hand hurty”
Right on well said
I like the sharp corners. I love sharp corners.
Haha exactly. I have big hands & the Ultra fits nicely in my grip.
sometimes 200mp is worse than default 12mp. so keeping it at 12 is the way to go if you dont have something like a landscape that you wanna crop in
12:35 you can disable that in the camera settings (Intelligent optimisation)
i do agree tho, there is nothing "Intelligent" about that lol
Edit: nvm i'm talking about my S23 Ultra maybe its a S24 problem
This may not work. Recently got an S23 Ultra and can't get it to stop post processing no matter what. Turned the Intelligent Optimization to minimum, played with some other settings too but it still does this. Seems to only be on 50 and 200 MP shots, it won't do it on the 12 MP photos.
S22 Ultra still going strong, gonna keep it for at least another 2 years
Same 😊
Yep, was just gonna make the same comment. 👍
My Note 10plus works perfect jeje I think these flagship longs for 5 to 7 years easy
Note 9 going strong and still can't decide to shell out this crazy amount of money for phones that lack 50% of N9s features. Crazy times and not good ones.
I upgraded from the s22 ultra to the S24 ultra and the leap for me has been quite significant. I'm super happy I did
turning off "scene optimiser" may help in taking natural looking photos.
Did you try that? I just ordered mine and seeing that over processing going wrong would really bother me.
This did not feel like a long term user review. It was much of a nit picky review.
S24 ultra is the best phone in the world right now. Hands down! The longer you use .. the more you fall in love with it especially if you are a Note lover.
Thanks!
I still can't believe that's still an issues in 2024.
they added electronic ND filters and never even talked about it in presentations😭 videographers kill for nd filters but they didn't even discuss them
Where is this information coming from?
Wait what! I never knew this, how was this not a more big of a thing talked about at the release/initial reviews
thats because it isn't a real electronic ND / VND filter, it just tries to mimic the long exposure you get from using an ND. it does this somewhere in the image processing pipeline and no, it doesnt work on video because again, it isn't a real ND.
how many stops?
Great video and I see you are also a watch guy :) nice Seiko alpinist and G-shock ga2100! what else do you have in your collection?
good comment i was wondering which watch was the all white?
I like that you point out these issues, many reviewers miss them.
My OnePlus 7 Pro just died this morning after 5 years of daily use. Just watched your Pixel long-term review, now this!
I'm about to reach 5 years milestone this October on my OnePlus 7T
Disagree with rounded corner phones. Never once used my phone and thought it dug in to my hand either. Don't know how you guys hold your phones. Not going to lose corner pixels to get a rounded screen either. Guess iPhone users are used to that though with the big notch. I have not had GPS issues with mine either use it daily for that. I use the s-pin daily for smart select, copying part of screen shots, note taking, and circle to search AI. As for price it is high but with trade ins when first launched I only paid a few hundred dollars, and that was taken off by carrier discounts.
Samsung we need an update that lets the extra brightness stay bright not dim an fix hesting issue
Yo, don't complain about the s pen, you don't need it until you do. And when you get why it's there, you'll miss it after that
he himself doesn't know what he's saying lol. couldn't find any cons so he decided to make ones, like the S pen is just there, and he made it sound like a con just because he doesn't use it. i had a note 9 back in 2018-2020. i used the pen EVERYDAY and i wasn't even an office worker/college student.
and how he made the AI features requiring a samsung account to be activated sound like a deal breaker, like no shit, apple users make iclouds and apple IDs right away since iOS devices are unusable without them and he complains about having to make a samsung account smh.
@@qoxxThat's a lot of words to say you're crying 🍼 👶
Haven't needed a pen for my smartphone in 14 years so think I'm good 👍
I used ot a few times and almost never again. Definately not a must or essential.
Facts! Wasn't a Note fan till I was gifted a Note 10. And now, the Spen is a mandatory requirement in the next phone I buy. I don't use it much but when I do, I'm glad I have it.
Where did you get the wallpaper?
Great job!
“Spend Responsibly “ - cool❤
I think the photo “over processing “ is disastrous.
I have the 23 ultra love the square I hope they DON'T change that
It makes the phone unique.
Is the GLONASS thing an issue if the phone can see all the other constellations? Does it have a problem with the others?
If you're looking for confirmation bias. I'm sorry to disappoint.
@@eber.antony I felt like this video was filled with bias. I didn't go looking for that.
He just isn't looking at with rose colored glasses like a fanboy would
Your reviews are really dependable. Keep up the good work.
I absolutely love the flat screen and the way it looks
This is a very nice video covering the longer term usage of the device. Thank you for always making good content.
Now this is a channel Togoto for phone insights. Definitely worth subscribing. Great work
I use an otterbox defender. The pen is covered when I flip over my phone by the otterbox screen protector belt clip. So now I never go through the extra step of taking the pen out or flipping vertically
7:30 shows an S22 or S23 Ultra as it has curved edges?
you could minimize intelligent Optimisation and turn off scene optimisation to reduce post processing
I just came here for the wallpaper on the thumbnail, any idea where to get it?
Just upgraded from my note 20 ultra and its truly a game changer for me
Got my s23 ultra for $600 on ebay. The 1 terabyte model!!! Loving this phone. Huge upgrade from my iphone 13 pro
New to this channel, this video was pure joy to watch.
What are the “can do 95% of the s24u for half the cost” phones?
I really enjoyed this review. In an era of sponsored advertising passing off as reviews, we need more realistic, critical voices who prioritize the interests of the viewer over the company who's products they're reviewing.
Anyone tell which screen recorder is blinking at 12:05 ?
Teddy Baldassare, Seiko Alpinist and good tech infos...
Dream video
Nice video, I just got mine a month ago and still loving it!
Pd: how did you get that wallpaper?
I love the background on the 24 ultra you had in the video. Where did you get the background? Thanks!
No one cares.
The one thing ive noticed with my 24 ultra is my screen doesn't seem very bright at all in direct sunlight. Not sure if its my device or if thats just how the s24 ultra is
I think it's more about the screen protector. i had the same issue, and then I removed my protector it's all good to go.
@@YashAli-de8rc Oh okay that makes sense I have a waterproof case on so that's probably why
went from note 9 to s24 ultra and man its so amazing I love the ai text styling !!! and the spen is so useful when writing down routes and stuff I need to get done at work I love this new phone. feels like a real upgrade 👍🏼 and the battery is on another level
Hi there... i am a user from note 9 too.. i missed the iris scanner.. how do u use the device so far? Is there flaw?
What is the background picture in the thumbnail?
That intro edit was out of this world. Your video production quality is top notch now.
I like more rectangular design. Best thing on this phone is how display is not as reflective.
Should I buy s24 ultra or wait for s25 ultra??
Also will the price of 24U be lower by the time s25u is launched?????
HC Great Video. The workaround for these Devices i find Nice Wallet case. But i have bought through the years many Powerbanks and others chargers. Thanks so much for sharing Enjoyed. 💯✌️
All of the issues he had with the camera is fixed completely with the RAW camera app. Ya know, the one samsung tells u too use if ur gonna shoot professionally or want the raw natural photos
11:20 : Nope this is not the ultimate tool. The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 IS the actual ultimate tool for that (for half of the price)
Which one is better for concert fancam? S24 ultra or Xiaomi 14 ultra?
Wooooow. That soccer game zoom in was incredible.
Oh dude! The sponsorship is GOLD! "Alright, have fun with your freezer"😅😅😂😂
Does this have the transcribe feature from the pixel? Like the recorder app?
@2:49, Seiko Alphinist?
The out of sync touch issue is One UI 6.1 issue, I am experiencing the same thing with my s22 ultra.
Samsungs trade in program is so generous. Great customer service too
12:45 i guess u can turn processing off atleast it is of for me
Any updates about how to lower or turn off the post processing issues?
where did you dl your wallpaper.. very nice
Hello, did you notice any overheating issue with this phone?
Very much appreciate this information. Thank you.

Get the otterbox screen protector
I have been having the same over post processing issues as well! Glad I'm not the only one. 12:32
12:06 this is the biggest reason I don't use my 24 ultra to take pictures. Even the DNG raw pictures couldn't escape this problem.
The graniness bugd me a lot compared to the S20, but it takes great pics at night.
Anyone with a link to the wallpaper in the thumbnail?
Best and most honest review I've seen so far, thank you!

There’s a setting you can change you make the screen touch more sensitive
The touch sensitivity can be increased in the display settings. I have it on my S10e im not sure if its an option on the S24
