you probably won't see this comment, but i'm going to say it anyway. Man, this song really went deep inside me, it sounds like that songs you remember forever and comes with a good feeling. it made me wanna pick my bass and start playing, and this is the kind of music that i love. You made my day, your job is amazing! Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil!
Why are so many people hating on this? It sounds fine. He did the bass and treble on his own. Tosin does it all the time and people loose their shit over it. When rob does it you all shit on him. I just dont get it. The guys a quality guitarist, probably better than almost everyone commenting. Take a step back, let go of you ego for 3 minutes and 40 seconds and just enjoy it. Jeez
I'm new to this channel. People who play guitar (myself included) tend to wear their influences on their sleeve. It's amazing to see someone approach the instrument in their own unique way and sound like themselves.
The name torque soul is so appropriate for this song... The word "torque" is normally associated with the turning force thingy in cars (I'm no expert, my apologies xD) but as we all know, some if not most cars are clunky and slow. The low clunks and shucks are the representation of the "torque" but the light feathery notes are the soul. I fuckin love it. Good job rob!
kerem clark yeah but I don't think rob chose the name because he roller skates. That may have been the inspiration for the name but I think that the reason he chose it is because of the low shucks with the feathery notes
dude, I love how simple the song seems at face value, and then how you change it up with such subtle but interesting chords. ugh man my ears love how you play music.
this song is... really interesting cause it is really deep with the low E string, but extremely high with all of the harmonies. But I love it!!! Thanks for the new tune Rob!
Kyle Cornwell Why does everyone say EMG's are shit? Im not arguing. I just see alot of badass players using em and their tone is great. Evan Brewer, Chris Letchford, Tosin Abasi and so on it goes.
well emg's aren't shit, it's just that a 9 string guitar is gonna sound like complete ass regardless. same with an 8 string and boring old 808x pickups.
Good one Rob. The mark of any great musician is how they make the very difficult look easy, just fleeting fingers flickering around the fretboard, facile fills & fingering, frivolity on a fabulous guitar, enough of the F word! Well don't fret, you can be good too, with thousands of hours of practice and a touch of genius. Now don't be facetious, cheers from Oz.
id always find myself trying to hum this and i couldn't remember where i heard it from. coming back to find this 8 years later is crazy. amazing sounds
I think this will be an acquired taste for many, but it's definitely very cool. I'll be honest, I need the low strings to be smoother and sweeter, but I don't think that's the point and I am not complaining.
Wow, just wow. I'm totally stuned by this performance. Absolutely amazing right-hand technique. And the tune itself is great. It is so flawless. I'm extended bassist (lo-F#) and I fucking dig this!
Rob, the tuning of the lower strings are intentionally tuned higher, or you just adjusted them to the tuner? I really like this song, but cannot understand the tuning.
Thanks Rob for inspiring me way back when with your cool tapping techniques. It helped me to make cool music of my own, and I really apriciate that!! Love the music
Have you ever tried a multi-scale guitar? According to my friend who uses 9 strings, its better for the intonation and more ergonomic. I noticed this looks a little uncomfortable at times but your probably used to it. Also, love this song, good work either way man.
You know, I do play 6 string bass so im not sure why I found this uncomfortable. Although I cant do chords like these very well on it. I think the necks are about the same width, my bass is obviously just a longer scale.
Why did I even bother scrolling through the comments when I knew all it was gonna' be was frustrated people complaining about how Rob's guitar had too many strings lol That's 34 seconds I'll never get back xD Whatevs' Good on ya' Rob! Awesome music as always.
Love it! One thing I like about your playing is your enthusiastic movement. We can visibly see that you enjoy playing. I was waiting for some drums in the beginning though. Regardless, this is fucking fantastic and a beautiful tune.
I bet a bowling alley has really interesting acoustics. It's probably excellent for recording, because they design those rooms to keep acoustic resonance to a minimum so the bowling doesn't make a lot of noise. I'm surprised that the extra low string isn't too "floppy", which is cool because I figured it'd be nearly inaudible. I'm definitely keen on an extended-range electric guitar now that I've seen what you've been doing with your's. Another great piece!
What kind of music genre is this part of? I would love to find more instrumentals like this! Rob Scallion, you're a beast at playing guitar, keep up the good work! Subscribed!
305 people disliked this video as of when i loaded this page today... I'm kinda shocked and appalled. This playing is too innovative. I surely assure you must think they score very low at bowling games. They have to and that's too true.
Listening to this now makes me feel as if something is missing, the drums fit perfectly, great choice! And also very good choice of drummer, Kevin Wade! \m/
wow not sure what the fuck i just listen to but damn it was spectacular, you have out done your self on this song amazing the new 9 string sounds unbealiable amazing lows and highs
Awesome composition and performance. For me it was screaming out to have a full band come in (drums and bass) though. Would you consider doing a band version with some distortion?
Anyone up for a game of bowling?
Schecter
Brandon Hamilton You just don't know how to bowl!
i live right fucking next to kristoff's. great place for mini golf. it's hard to believe you were there.
ZEXINUSS oh cool! it's an awesome place. The church of deviance cover was shot there too (in their haunted house)
genial el lugar, pero pudiste tocar un mejor tema :/
you probably won't see this comment, but i'm going to say it anyway.

i thought torque soul was just a roller skating move...Rob does rollerskating...?
+kerem clark no, it's about low chunks being torque and high notes being soul. Please, don't take it away from us.
im sorry, i know you like deep meaningful shit but come on if you search torque soul on youtube you will find rollerskate videos
kerem clark yeah but I don't think rob chose the name because he roller skates. That may have been the inspiration for the name but I think that the reason he chose it is because of the low shucks with the feathery notes
Rob Scallon: #1 MVP Guitarist of our generation. Who's with me?
I can honestly say Rob Scallon has some of the most interesting, unique, and beautiful music I've ever heard
Heavy bass and light treble at the same time... Much wow.

Kolby Villanueva No
dude, I love how simple the song seems at face value, and then how you change it up with such subtle but interesting chords. ugh man my ears love how you play music.

that 9th string sounds farty as fuck
Wetting myself at this, so true..cannot be unheard
its those EMG's... there is no pickup in existence worse with lows than EMG's.
now thats funny!

I fucking love the conflicting tones in this song! That fat as fuck bass tone with the crystal high end. Damn are you even human?
someone who shows how a nine-string should actually be utilised. Cheers rob!
id always find myself trying to hum this and i couldn't remember where i heard it from. coming back to find this 8 years later is crazy. amazing sounds

I gotta say, man. This is my favorite piece of yours
I absolutely love this song. Thanks again for making such awe inspiring music.
Truly love the usage of the imperfect note in this song, very unique
That's beautiful, man! You've redeemed 9-string guitars for me.
Inspired me so much right now ... Playing on guitar already 11 years but.... I've never wanted to get a real jam as I want now.... thank you Rob
Now THIS is how a 9 string is to be used. Amazing!
Thats 5 more strings than I use
So you're a bassist.
Kolby Villanueva No, can't afford strings for my guitar, only have 4...
I-- I don't get it.
Anthony Mc What strings do you not have? Or do you play bass?
Kolby Villanueva He's fucking with you, he's most likely a bassist.
Your technique continues to fascinate me.
Your music talent is just incredible. I mean it
My favorite part is when the ting goes: SKRRRAAAAAP. Toom too boom boom boom. Bad da dat. Ratatatat.
Holy damn, I think this is the best song you've ever uploaded, at least, in my opinion.
Wow, just wow. I'm totally stuned by this performance. Absolutely amazing right-hand technique. And the tune itself is great. It is so flawless.
I'm extended bassist (lo-F#) and I fucking dig this!
Those harmonics are damn sweet...
Rob, the tuning of the lower strings are intentionally tuned higher, or you just adjusted them to the tuner? I really like this song, but cannot understand the tuning.
I just sat and watched almost every video you've made and this is one of the coolest for sure.
Guitar and bass guitar smashed into one. Genius.
That sounded pretty awesome.
"Don't mind me I'm just gonna whip out a sick tune in the middle of this isle" Well done sir :)
The amount of talent he has is amazing!!
Thanks Rob for inspiring me way back when with your cool tapping techniques. It helped me to make cool music of my own, and I really apriciate that!! Love the music
I live about 25 minutes away from Kristof’s. Best bowling alley ever.
Beautifully soft and heavy at the same time,
The first song I've ever heard where someone uses all 9 strings.
is that the only 9 string guitar you have? would you have preferred to play this on passive pickups?
A NEW KING!!
Hellraiser, in the thunder and heat
Hellraiser, rock you back in your seat
Hellraiser, and I'll make it come true
Hellraiser, I'll put a spell on you
Wow man, every time I see you uploading a video im ready to be pleased with your music! Congratualtions and good job!
you should get one of those agile 8 string acoustics, love to see you what you can with those haha
Have you ever tried a multi-scale guitar? According to my friend who uses 9 strings, its better for the intonation and more ergonomic. I noticed this looks a little uncomfortable at times but your probably used to it.
Also, love this song, good work either way man.
Not uncomfortable at all. Within minutes you will get used to it and not even notice it
You know, I do play 6 string bass so im not sure why I found this uncomfortable. Although I cant do chords like these very well on it. I think the necks are about the same width, my bass is obviously just a longer scale.
***** Ibanez is for sure releasing them in 2015, so hopefully Schecter will try to keep up.
you really should post more videos like this. just smooth peaceful jams
This dude always has epic and very unique songs. Keep 'em coming man.
Every time you play a schecter it makes me want to get one that much more! Great song. Its amazing you can use all 9 strings like that
I rarely comment on videos, but I must say, that was beautiful.
I keep coming back to this song ,I love it :)

Really like this song. i was expecting it to break down into a progressive metal type song but in away it already is one. Keep up the good work man!
Jesus the hellraiser is beautiful I want the six string version
It's sexy as. I own the 6 and 7 string models. I aim to own the 8 and 9 strings one day
This looks like sooooooo much fun to play!
I bet a bowling alley has really interesting acoustics. One of the few times I've seen more than 3 or 4 strings used on a 9 string. Impressive
I LOVE that guitar!!! I wonder what this would've sounded like with a bit of distortion...
This is very nice! It sounds like you reversed the sound of a piano being played in a way! :D
this song contains soft and hard. i love it. i always waiting ur posting new song
This was really good man, I actually haven't seen anyone who plays like this on a 9 string
i see the tosin inspiration and damn rob...i love it. you do this so well
Nice! One of my favorite ones you've made.
Totally want one of these ,flipping insane
You're like magic or something. You're awesome.
305 people disliked this video as of when i loaded this page today... I'm kinda shocked and appalled. This playing is too innovative. I surely assure you must think they score very low at bowling games. They have to and that's too true.
Nice sound and pretty hypnotic melodie.
Loved it and now I have a greater knowledge of how bowling alleys work.
Listening to this now makes me feel as if something is missing, the drums fit perfectly, great choice! And also very good choice of drummer, Kevin Wade! \m/
