- Not that long ago, Godox released the first MoveLink M2 wireless mic system. And it was good! It wasn't great... but it was a solid performer at a solid price. And here we are again already with the mark ii version. But why?? Today we'll find out why, and a whole lot more!

Excellent review! Love the way you compared both units!! Thanks very much!
Thanks for this review, appreciate the time and effort you put in the review🙏🔥
Thank you!
Def on the hunt for a wireless set, really wondering about my options like Rode vs Godox - Glad to see someone doing a review on the movelink ii
Rode has had so many issues with units suddenly turning off and firmware bricking the mics. I'm looking into switching to another brand myself.
I actually love the new Godox movelink ii I think it offers the closet to finished audio out of the box of my current lavs.
I had the first gen of these but returned because the latency was just a little too much for live streaming. I am using the hollyland lark and they are fine.
I bought this a year ago. It work so good. But after one year the receiver battery is failing. So if you want to get this. Please keep in mind it wont long last. And you cannot replace the battery
Bruh i see you everywhere in all content about this godox...😂
@m.movado745 it broke my heart. I just want people knew
Hey - great review, what brand condenser mic and type of connectors did you use, going into the transmitter?
It’s a sennheiser ME 2, which I snipped the locking screw ring off of so it will work with anything 😂
love your test... I wish you could do more test of others items like rgb tube lights :o)
But… I Just did Two RGB tube light reviews! Or was that sarcasm?? Lol
@@WesPerry no Sarcasm, I'm considering to buy godox tl30 or pavotube 15c II for exemple... I love you work, you know it...
It may surprise people to know that my relationship with Godox is still pretty tenuous. They’ve only sent me a few wireless mics to test thus far. Everything else I’ve tested of theirs has come from other sources (many of which being my wallet? Lol). And since I already have a few tube lights, I can’t really justify buying more for testing. Send me a review unit Godox! Haha
@@WesPerry Sad to hear that... I hope things are gonna be better... Your work is very good and acurate... Very pro. :o)
I am trying to decide between these three setups for weddings. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Saramonic Blink 500 Prox B2
SMALLRIG W60
Godox MoveLink II M2
*Edit
Or, is there anything else in this price range that you would recommend over these three?
Definitely Smallrig. The usability on the 500 Pros is really bad. A lot of work to adjust volume, etc. Plus the connectivity isn’t as strong as the other two.
The Godox and Smallrig likely have the same internals, but the Smallrig is easier to use.
@@WesPerry Thank you! Looks like I'm taking the 500s out of my wish list lol. Also, thank you for your quick response!
@kreadive I went through two sets of 500’s and found both to have reception issues.
what would you pick Godox MoveLink ii M2 Review vs GODOX Wireless WMICS K2 Pro
Godox. price is not important what has best audio quality
I tried the K2 pro’s and they had intermittent signal drops. Just little half second blips every minute or so. Tried a second set, did the same thing. Can’t trust them for work.
@@WesPerry thank you for the reply you saved me from a bad purchase truly appreciate it 😀
Hi
I need wireless mic what i will be able mount on the boxing ring to record sound from the boxing ring... boxing ring will be arround 50 meters away from my desk... you think that mic set will be good for me? There will be a lot of people beetwen me and the transmitter... that is why im not sure if that is good option for me. I will be gratefull for your respond.. cherrs
Yeah the “lots of people” thing would give me pause for sure. Especially indoors. That stuff is easier outside, where I do most of my work.
The wmicS2 could be more ideal, as it uses UHF, which is less prone to “lots of people” interference.
I can get the first gen M2s for 166 euro, whereas the second gen costs 219 euro. I just use them indoors at the moment. Would you say the second gen is worth the extra 60 euro?
Odd, they’re supposed to be the same price. As long as you’re not going to be a fair distance away from the camera or through walls, there’s nothing wrong with the first version.
@@WesPerry I really appreciate the fast answer! I've been watching a bunch of your audio related videos, and I left a sub :D
Ive seen 2 reviewers note the poor latency of first gen which sometimes affects lag of sound with video. Gary
How does this compare to the Boya BY-XM6-S2 ?
I can’t say for sure, but I doubt the Boya ones are quite as good. That being said, I think Boya might have sent me them to compare, so if they appear I’ll let you know ;)
Which non Rode brand would you recommend if internal recording isn't a factor?
Either this or the Smallrig Forevala
so there is no internal recording on the Godox?
There isn’t. You’d have to go with their Virso for that, which I found to be an awful product tbh.
perry which is better 7ryms dw20 or godox
The MoveLink ii has significantly better reception, but lacks onboard recording or a battery in the charging case. Depends what’s important to you!
