I have been sewing for almost 70 years, quilting for over 20. I love your approach for newbies...you dont assume that they know things that experienced sewists or quilters take for granted, like making a knot for hand sewing. You just fluidly include those instructions, not talking down to anyone. You're very thorough, but still make it fun and feel achievable for anyone. Keep up the great work! Im enjoying your channel😊
Totally agree!! I've been sending your videos to friends who want to learn how to sew...but I've never taught anyone how to (I'm self-taught) and don't know how to teach it. Ha! Not only that, but your videos are helping me help them with how you instruct! Thank you for that!
This was my first ever sewing project and tbh I was scared to death! But you were so extremely encouraging and made everything so simple. This turned out so well and I'm over the moon to have a "win" under my sewing belt already that I'm launching right into another project. Thank you "sew" much!
PLEASE keep the longer tutorials! I'm learning to sew properly by watching your tutorials! Your are a natural teacher and entertainer! I'd love to see how to make a cross-body bag with a flap and pockets! I made my own, but didn't like the results as much as I had hoped. Love your channel!
I agree with the longer videos. Your explanations are so clear. I am an experienced sewist, but really enjoy watching sewing videos. I can skip thru if I want to move thru quicker.
Gifted , natural teacher. You are definitely using your gifts. Please keep daily videos coming. I am a 58 year old beginner sewing. You inspire me. I am Sabrena: my husband s name pops up I need to change my acct. Love your videos Chelsea. Also, your sweet personality just lifts my spirits as well.
I've been sewing for 50 years and never come across as much generosity in teaching as yours. Thank you Chelsea, from a frosty Peak District in the Uk ❄️🎉❄️
Your nature is so perfect for keeping it light & fun, while sewing on the button “you didn’t know you were learning how to sew on a button today!” & the easy knot trick I didn’t know about until recently it’s so sweet you taught that too!
I'm new to your channel! I just came across you the other day. I'm glad I found you! I am going to try your sewing thread knot trick and the button sewing finishing knot. I usually wrap the matched up ends around the end of my finger and roll the thread with my thumb and then pull it tight (if that makes sense) and I get a pretty big knot. Your button sewing finish incorporates the separate thread wrapping I do around the threads under the button. Pretty nice method!!!
Ok I’m new to watching your channel and I paid close attention to how you changed your foot and you taught me how to change the foot without any struggle. This whole time I was holding the foot which is super difficult. Mind blown!!
Just started watching you, and I love how you explain in detail, but you don’t talk constantly and manically. You make it fun and relaxing and don’t talk about the project so much before, during and after, that I give up and go to something else. Like on Dragnet, “just the facts, ma’am”. Everyone has their own style, and their preference, and I prefer yours.
Love your teaching method! I can actually follow your step by step I instructions and my projects are turning out beautiful! Thanks you! The added touch of humor helps also!
You could get a eye glass string from the dollar tree and attach it to each side. Then you could have it around your neck at a festive or yard sales also hang it from rear view mirror.😊
I adore your channel!! you are so fun to watch, easy to learn from, and come up with the best projects. I have the exact same sewing machine that you do and I love it !!! So glad I found you on RUclips!! Please continue making all the fun stuff with full length tutorials!!!
I like the idea of the auto cloth inside "shining" the glasses as you slide them in. Wonder if this would also be a good idea for making a phone case. Thanks for another great idea.
I was making the duffle bags and had to walk away halfway through. I think the probably is the needle is dull. I'll go back tonight when I am not so irritated, LOL. I was screaming "use a green button." The clear was cute too. Sometimes I put a drop of clear nail polish on the finished button if I am worried about wear and tear. I had an "1850's" dress for work at Greenfield Village that when the snaps came off, we would use dental floss for strength to sew the snaps back on, best hack ever.
I love your tutorials so much! You’ve gotten me back into seeing again after many years! I would love to know about the magnetic sewing machine needle thing! I need that! Also I just subscribed to Mrs. Quilty thanks to you and your discount code! Keep up the great work!!
I made one this weekend and it’s super cute! I’m a new sewist. Learned in high school back in 1990 and haven’t sewed since. There was some trial and error but I got it done. It’s definitely not perfect but I love it! Thank you for all your tutorials and fun, functional, cost effective ideas!
So glad I found your channel. You make learning new things so much fun. I love your attitude you make mistakes and are not to proud to say you missed up. Thanks for being so natural make’s watching you so enjoyable.
I must admit I am looking each day to see if there is a new video because I love watching you so much! I rewatch videos just to see your happy face and bubbly personality! Love to you and yours!
Chelsey, I love your personality. It’s so much fun to watch you. Do these amazing projects. I’m learning each and every time thank you so much for being who you are. God bless you.❤
I bought some elastic at the local name brand store - not much in the package for 5.99, went to the Dollar Tree and got a package of the same elastic 3xs the size for 1.25
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I found it very easy to follow and your voice is sooooo soothing! Love your humor as well! I plan to make these for gifts for my friends!
This is a great scrap buster. I would love to learn how to remove the ribbing neckline from a tee shirt to finish it with a nicer more feminine scoop neckline.
I love your videos Chelsea! I’m a beginner and love the details. You showed me a new way to put a knot on thread when threading a needle and tips on sewing a button manually. Thank you for your great video tutorials 😊
I love your pleasant & happy go personality. Any thing you were is out standing on you. You explain the project very easy way & with the perfactio .How do I get the pTtern for this ,'cover up ' project. Thank you ma'am for sharing.
Love the variety of projects you are showing. I love the drying mats for tote bags. I have a drying mat for fall for myself that I plan to make so I can get all the bugs out. And two other non-seasonal drying mats for tote bags. You are very good teacher.
Love this tutorial, I learned some tricks for sewing on a button that will eliminate my frustration with this!! I have made the pouches and the car trash bags from your tutorials! Please keep up the dollar tree crafts! I love them. Thank you for making my hobby so much more enjoyable!,
Hey Chelsea, love your tutorials for us newbies. Your videos are so inspiring. I made the sunglasses case and couldn’t be more proud. All items from the dollar tree. Thanks again. Looking forward to seeing you more. 😊 i can’t seem to add a photo to show my masterpiece 😂
You are so brave sewing in black. 😂 i have 1 pair of black slacks, that are forever more to be called sewing pants. Tiny threads are just embedded in them. Even after washing several times.

An old flannel shirt scrap would be a good alternative to the auto cloth.

To quote Jenny Doan... Finished is better than perfect.
I love your site. Your laugh is infectious. Well done!

I took one of the XL glasses cleaning cloth's from DT and stitched it into a pouch and added an elastic around the top as a drawstring.

If you quilt again on a print with a solid on the back, show the back. The quilting will show up so much better on camera!

You are so brave sewing in black. 😂 i have 1 pair of black slacks, that are forever more to be called sewing pants. Tiny threads are just embedded in them. Even after washing several times.
Hahaha. My family calls it my “uniform” and it’s ALWAYS covered in thread!
I've made glasses cases using cute pot holders. Same idea.
Great idea!!! Can you use a snap closure?? And if you don’t have a drying Matt can you other fabric along the car cloth???
You. Created a monster. I have made 8 of these. I’m going to put gift cards in them for Christmas. I even made a little pair for my G-granddaughter.
That is awesome!
With have the elastic there and know where you sew I would recomend make the button before sew it together. Then just sew it and button was easy
